Re: A Call from the Void
The Blue Star Pirates appeared out of nowhere, attacking the Sith vessel. Ryder's grey eyes watched from his armored van. "All units pull back, protect the citizens, let the pirates take the brunt of the Sith fire," he ordered into the company-wide comm. He switched the comm over to the line with the outpost. "Are you still tracking those Sith ships that diverted away?"
"Yes sir," the young officer replied," though we are having issues with a sudden sandstorm that just swallowed them. We can confirm that at least one of the fighters crashed."
Ryder was surprised, his outpost kept an eye on local weather patterns and he didn't remember a sand storm on the forecast. "Give me the coordinates. I'm going after them." Something was really off, and he needed to find out what it was before the Sith did something horrendous.
"Uploading the coordinates to your vessel now."
Ryder didn't reply but instead looked to Starr. "I'm chasing the breakaway group, if you want to fight that Dreadnought you'll have to join up with the BSP, otherwise you're welcome to follow me." With that the vans armored door slid shut and the vessel took to the air once more. One of the operatives that was with him turned to Ryder once they were on their way.
"The Empire supports you because you're supposed to hunt those pirates, now you're pulling out when we have them in our sights?!"
Ryder looked at the man, he knew under that armor he was one of the Imperial agents ISB assigned to him. "The Sith are the bigger threat, your commanders know this and would probably even reward me for stopping a potential Sith plot!" A wave of dark Force energy flowed over him, stunning him for a moment. "I just hope we aren't too late."
The Imperial looked at Ryder, though he couldn't see a face through the helmet it was clear something was off. The Empire was still unaware Ryder was a Force user and he planned on keeping it that way. "Either prepare for Sith engagement or get off my ship." The van door slid open and the operative stared at him and out the door of the fast moving armored van.
"I'll follow for now." The man replied, taking a step away from the edge. The door slid closed again and the hover van shot towards the looming sandstorm.

Re: A Call from the Void
Kroxata approaches the small mount, covering his face from the stray pieces of sand that flicker from all sides surrounding him, reaching out with his hand to gently press it against the sand, upon doing so the mount slowly changed, the sand covering it began to quickly decay, sinking into the ground with various patterns and markings being revealed. The Dark Side suddenly began to flow towards the runes with such strength. Kroxata turns back amusing he would see his Sith infiltrator, instead a wall of sand moving at intense speeds blocked any sight from his eyes leaving him alone. The Sith lord knew little of these signs that have presented themselves to him, but he knew of the many hidden tombs that infested underground on Korriban, perhaps this one used the same format as the resting places of the ancient Sith.
He pressed his large palm firmly on the small tablet feeling the Dark Side aura that throbbed in massive beats against him, “Yes, I have found it…” A small explosion in the distance strikes the air with one of Kroxata’s escorts swirling to the ground before exploding in a blaze of fire that is quickly swallowed by the sand below, hiding its existence forever to slowly rust within the dunes of the desert planet. Distracting his concentration, he retracts his palm looking to the small spec that slowly became a hurling ball of flame to disappear to nothing and has he pulled his hand away, the tablet’s inscriptions began to fade.
He turn back to see a giant cylinder like shape form around him, emerging from the sand and rising far above it, taking the Dathomiri Hammer with it. Higher and higher it rose, shaking violently , causing the giant brute of a Zabrak to go as low as possible to avoid falling until finally the shaking stops. Kroxata rises to his feet realising he now stands hundreds of feet in the sky, before him a doorway leading within a complex, his first test had begun.

Re: A Call from the Void
Sand scraped across the side of the armored van as it shot through the storm. They lowered their altitude to be only several meters off the ground in case of it became to dangerous. Ryder looked out the view port but couldn’t see more than a meters distance ahead of them. He closed his eyes and stretched out with the Force and immediately he could feel it. The dark side, it was like a tidal wave in the infinite ocean of the Force.
He held his composure and focused on the epicenter. At there current speed they’d be upon it within minutes, he just feared what it could be.
“Sir,” the pilot spoke, “sensors picked up the remains of two crashed vessels. We aren’t detecting life signs at either crash site.” The man was struggling to hold the hover van steady. “Also detecting a large landmass ahead, probably a small mountain.”
That was it, the mountain was where the dark Force was emanating. “Bring us towards it, ignore the vessels.”
Ryder could feel the contention coming for the Imperial Agent that was currently with him. Ryder knew that he might become a problem but for now he had bigger issues with the Sith threat. If the agent got aggressive Ryder’s HK unit or the two warbots could easily detain him.

Kroxata descended into the tower, into nothing but darkness, seemingly an endless void of empty space all concealed behind a thick black myst of illusion. Not even the Force allowed such a forbidden place to be easily revealed to those that wield their gift. For whatever laid on the other side was something no mortal should dare disturb, the Dreadlord could feel the barrier placed in front of him, merely placing one foot in front of the other became a struggle, his aura constantly being beaten from all sides by the unrelenting howling energies that gave no mercy for any that dared entered the forbidden shrine. When the Sith Lord closed his eyes, reaching out with his connection of the void that was the void, the darkness suddenly faded and now a gigantic cluster of millions upon millions of particles joined together forming a wall to push back anyone who attempted to pass. Everywhere he turned he could sense the same wall that blocked his vision by a rupturing field of pure Force energy, he opens his eyes to once again see the thick black void all around him.
He held his hand out feeling as the Force engulfed his arm, almost gripping onto it, kroxata tried to pull his hand back but with much resistance, he used his free right hand latching onto his left fighting for control over his own body, his muscles visibly straining to release the grip of the Force around him, eventually the Force gave way, the Zabrak exerting much of his own body strength to keep his arm as he falls quickly to ground. This barrier could not be taken down without a countermeasure to break the seal holding the Force together in such a way as such a unit, a further question was why did the Force block the actions of mortals? That did not matter, yet anyway. Despite the sheer strength of the Force here, there was something far stronger that lingered within the shadow, changing his focus to not the grand void of the Force, but the fiery burning raging pit of power, the Dark Side, it ran with so much strength, so much roar power yet it also seemed contained by an unknown reason, perhaps dormant for thousands of years until now.
Kroxata reached out with his hands once more this time directing it to the dormant Dark Side aura that flourished all around him, instantly upon contact, the Dark Side began manifesting into a thick red myst, slipping through the darkness circling the Dark side user as a cat would to its owner. To the barrier this felt as nothing more than a small threat, but in all its wisdom it did not contain the same mindset as mortals, the same integrity and thought process. Using his mastery of Control, Kroxata forced every ounce of the Dark side that filled the tower. The longer the Force left the Dark Side unchecked the more it grew, the more it bloomed the stronger the radiating energies stretched out across the desert, the small individual particles of sand that littered the floor slowly began to rise from the ground the combustion of the Dark Side into a being caused extreme pressure within the air.
Finally the swelling energies infused Kroxata with great power, with great might although he still felt that he would face no easy task. The barrier now felt the Dark presence closing in all from the deepest darkest pits it had slept from. Now acting in a hostile manner to this Dark wielder, the Force encircled all around Kroxata’s body trying to bring the beast down to the floor, but it came too late. The Dark Side of the Force had chosen its harbinger, its host to be used how he pleased and with a mighty roar the Sith thrusted his hands forward, the red myst clashed against the Force barrier. A massive pulsewave in the air caused a pulse wave to erupt in between the two conflicting energies, over and over again the two sides of the Force would clash against one another, Kroxata being the wielder of the Dark, he would not allow such petty tricks stop him from reaching his prize. The two seemed to be evenly matched, with either side barely gaining any advantage over the other, until the will of the mortal began to fade, his strength already weakened to the crash. His head succumbed to the Force that overwhelmed his understanding, the Force barrier began gradually closing the aura of kroxata but little did the Force know that they had already lost. During the clash, Kroxata did not intend to win the encounter, but to weaken the bonds keeping the Force barrier together, now suffering from the countless bout for dominance with the Dark Side it could not sense the intentions of the Sith.
It seemed almost poetic, the fact that the same fate had fell upon the galaxy a hundred times over, the Sith rise without any challenge, they are defeated but never truly destroyed, only to be the instrument of the galaxy’s turn to chaos. The bonds were weak enough for Kroxata’s study in Alteration to be effective, moments before the Force came over the Sith Lords body like a tidal wave to wash away the evil, the Force barrier was stopped in its movement, no longer did it continue to push against the aura of Kroxata. The Dreadlord opens his eyes revealing two glowing amber dots that vibrantly illuminated the darkness, he reaches out with both his his hands aggressively pulling them apart, the barrier split it two revealing a doorway to an open chamber, the Force quickly tried to regain its structure but the bonds only submitted to Kroxata’s control. The barrier’s split began growing larger with the Dreadlord slowly tearing away the blockade in front of him, he could sense the particles one by one crumbling into nothing, tearing themselves apart from the whole frame left to die or add to the Dathomirian’s own aura, whether they would follow, or they would be left to die.
~End
Finally the path laid open to the Dreadlord, he looked up to see a swirling set of stairs ascending up to the top of the tower, the howling wind beating against the structure but not posing as any real threat, Looking out in front of him he could see a chamber bathed in red runes and scribes depicting the many tales of the Lord of Hunger, until finally at the centre, a holocron. This confused the Nightbrother, he had thought this calling would reward him with a piece to Nihilus himself, perhaps a part of his strength, nut this holocron could mean many many things things. He approached with caution hoping no one else had followed his trail, though neither ensuring that possibility could not come to pass.

Re: A Call from the Void
(Level 7 Force app)
"Take us to the top," Ryder spoke as they hovered next to a mysterious tower. He felt the Force emanating from it, the place was saturated with the Dark side. His inner Gundark called out to it, it wanted freedom. As the van shot up the side of the tower, Ryder mentally balanced himself in the Force, preparing for the encounter that was coming. He'd need to be fully focused so as to not lose himself to the Dark side while here.
The van came to a halt upon reaching the top of the tower and its side door slid open. Sand buffeted the occupants as Ryder jumped out followed by CE, his crimson espionage droid. "The rest of you, stay in the van," he ordered to Klik, the warbots and the operative. "Klik hand me the T-21."
The HK unit nodded as it took the weapon off the rack and handed it off to it's master. Ryder proceeded to lift it over his shoulder where it magnetically clipped to the back of the camo suit. With that, Ryder turned to the entrance of the dungeon. He closed his eyes for a moment and called upon the Force. He needed to allow the Light side to grow in him momentarily so he mentally flipped the coin. He felt a calm enter him, he was about to face a difficult trial. His eyes opened, and his vigor replenished, he started down the stairwell into utter darkness. His headlight turned on to try and illuminate things but the darkness was unnatural, preventing any light from escaping the lens. With a deep breath Ryder lifted his hand and called upon the Force to create light, like he'd done hundreds of times before. As he tried he found it difficult, this place did not want to be illuminated, the shroud of the Dark side was powerful. Ryder focused, it was mentally taxing but finally enough light appeared over his open palm to allow him to progress down the steps safely.
He slowly approached the bottom of the stairwell, his mind fighting off the Dark side's attempts to drag him down. As he looked around he found himself surrounded by some sort of barrier, broken but quickly reforming. He reached out with the Force to touch it and as he did so it lashed out at him. Ryder stumbled back, his droid catching him as he did so. The light he had made faded as he lost his concentration from the barrier's attack. Ryder regained his footing, he could sense a life sign past the barrier. The Sith had been here only moments ago. Ryder needed to figure out a way past the reforming barrier before it became too strong for him.
He closed his eyes and mentally held the coin that represented his control of the Force. He spun it and called the Light side to stand next to him and hold him true. He then proceeded to call the Dark side, it was powerful here and thus he'd use its power to fight. Ryder unleashed the strength and the beast smashed into the barrier that surrounded him. He controlled the Dark force as he fought, but even with the barrier weakened by whomever came through before the process was taxing him. He reached out to sense for the weakest points and sent out his invisible fists in the Force.
Ryder could see the barrier cracking but he knew the Dark would never beat itself, for each fed off the other. All he needed was for it to be weakened further. With a deep breath Ryder flipped the coin, calling on every bit of the Light side of the Force he had in him. There was a moment as everything fell silent in the Force, almost like the barrier itself feared what was about to happen. Ryder opened his eyes and with that he released the hound that was the Light side in him. He sent it smashing into weakest points of the cracked barrier and with a burst of light the darkness scattered. The webs of darkness that had been forming on him withdrew and Ryder felt his whole mind and body relax. He knew his fight wasn't over and as such he knelt down and called upon the Force to rejuvenate him.
Clearing his mind and bringing the coin in the Force back to center, allowing neither side full control. He reached out in the Force, it was time to ascertain his path in this darkness. Mentally he looked for the trail of the Sith, scanning the area with his mind's eye. Then he spotted, like a red mist dispersing on the ground, the path the Sith had taken. He focused on it, following it towards its master before finally spotting the beast of a man. Ryder could feel the Force flowing off him like a tidal wave, and for a moment Ryder's balance wavered again.
"No," he muttered.
He stood up and opened his eyes, it was time to go and face this evil. He was balanced, the light and dark were equals in his body as they were in the Force.

Re: A Call from the Void
The Dathomiri Hammer took the march with pride, the conqueror laxing himself amongst the legends of the past, the runes began illuminating the closer he got to the holocron. The whispers returned to Kroxata, the calls were clear they chanted his name over and over again like a crowd of warriors, of worshippers seeing the Zabrak as a god in human form. His eyes do not avert from the holocron ascending the set of stairs to the golden resting place, heavily decorated in many paintings and sculptures depicting the Lord of Hunger in many different ways. Some show him as a saviour to a world riddled with demons, whilst others depict him as the end of all things, whatever the depiction was, he was valued in some shape or form as a god, may that be of good or ill omen.
But the defining moment came when he reached the top of the set of golden stairs, resting on an extremely dusty pyramid case, placed perfectly in the center was the holocron. The chanting became louder and louder to a point where it felt as if a group were shouting from all sides, the beasts heart raced with tension until, he places his hand on the holocron, the shouting stops as he removes it from its stand. He studies the small pyramid shaped device, seeing the same red mist pour out from the sides, he turned back to its casing that immediately disappears beneath the structure, Kroxata finally noticed the final painting placed where the holocron once rested, the mask of Darth Nihilus, the key to Kroxata’s ascension to a god, learning the secrets from such a spirit would prove to be something Sith Lords dream of obtaining, a relic that could in itself destroy the whole galaxy if unleashed.
The Dathomiri Hammer places his free hand on the top of the pyramid turning it a full 180 degrees, the holocron begins shaking in his giant palms, a bright red light blinds his vision with a beam piercing through his head but not causing any major damage. His mind begins to be filled with the various deeds Darth Nihilus committed, along with the worshipers that locked the pieces away to one day be unearthed for their master and god to be awaken once again.
A view of the galaxy appeared to his mind, searching through thousands of planets gradually focusing on a specific point for a brief moment. before zooming in through the atmosphere seeing another planet riddled with deserts and rock suddenly setting on another tomb, one that beared many secret corridors with traps laid for even the most experience Sith Lords, reaching a chamber lit with burning flares, the whispers return seeing for himself the white coated mask, the mask of the Lord of Hunger.
Before anymore could be revealed, a presence of serenity struck the Sith Lord, one that was very small but felt balanced, a feeling Kroxata had not felt before, it confused him at first but as soon as he was pulled away from his trance he was seen holding the holocron far above his head. He peered to the entrance of the staircase, his amber gaze setting on a small human, how did he get here? Where did he come from? Was he here by sheer coincidence, by accident? Unable to see the threat he turns to face the human, his gaze not moving off his eyes, watching his next move carefully.

Re: A Call from the Void
Ryder walked with a new confidence, the darkness clawed at him but it could do naught to halt his progress now. He followed the trail of red mist until he entered a chamber with runes and hieroglyphics that he could make neither head nor tails of. His grey eyes from behind his faceplate scanned the room till they rose up the stairs to see the beast of a Zabrak. His eyes rose higher still to spot the unmistakable shape of a Sith holocron. Immediately both sides of him called out, one side calling for its destruction while the other called out to possess it.
Ryder shook his head, there was no time to for him to think, either way the holocron needed to be out of the Sith's possession. His instincts and years of military training kicked in and he rolled for the nearest cover as the Sith turned his gaze upon Ryder. As he rolled his right hand reached back pulling the T-21 from its rest and took aim. The Force giving him focus once again he let out the plasma burst from the rifle to the holocron floating just over the Sith.
The bolt seared through the air between Ryder and Dathomiri, time almost slowing down. The holocron had no defense between it and the energy, no lightsaber, no body, just air. A deafening crack resounded through the room as the bolt made contact with the ancient Sith construct, screams through the Force were almost audible. The combined effect caused Ryder to drop the rifle which clicked to the ground on the other side of the humans cover.
The crimson droid ran for its own cover as it watched it's master pull a daring move, a move that was sure to anger the beast. The droid probably knew even before Ryder did that this was about to turn ugly really fast. The droid opened a compartment on its chest and revealed a cylindrical device: Ryder's lightsaber. CE prepared to launch the weapon over to it's master as soon as the Zabrak made any motion to close the distance.

Re: A Call from the Void
Kroxata had little time to handle the instantaneous maneuver from this human, his speed was much faster than that of a normal man. Before he could react a blaster bolt perfectly knocks the metallic holocron, ricohing both the shot and the holocron away from one another. Only the scorching heat brushed past the Sith Lords hand. He retracts it back, turning his body with it to no longer face Ryder, watching as the holocron crashes down the steps below him. No mere man was ever that accurate, not without some aid of sorts, he recalls to what he felt earlier, a presence of the Light, the presence of balance, this new challenger could not have past through the tower unless...unless he shared the gift. The same gift that mark his ascension to near godhood and beyond, a gift that could also learn the secrets of the holocron.
He turns his body quickly back to find the human had taken to various positions of cover, hiding away from the giant Zabrak. Kroxata using the Force, brings his Lightstaff from his waist to his left arm. He ignites one end with his left hand, spinning the blade over to his right to reveal the other, the two unstable crimson blades erupted to life, sparking stray pieces of energy, descending from the staircase looking to protect Nihilus pyramid of knowledge his senses on the high alert.
He prowled closer and closer to the bottom his amber gaze fixated on every small particle that was visible enough to catch any one sign of movement or cluster of moving sand to pinpoint his enemies location. He came across the two pillars written in the ancient language of the Sith, one the Dathomirian knew little of, he could make out a general concept of what the language spoke of, one described the neverending robe that some believe held a void of the Dark Side. The other described the pure white coated mask that became a symbol of complete fear and death to all, yet the two pillars shared different pressences, one of pure darkness, the other felt at conflict, an occurrence should not happen in a place built from the Dark Side.
He could not be certain of this presence being that of the human until he notices a moving shadow reflection from the lit torches that were dotted around the hall, without a second thought, Kroxata twirls his Lightstaff to be in both hands before spinning around slicing his blade from one end of the massive stone pillar to the other the blade being visible passing straight through one side and out the other, if the Lightstaber would not do any damage, the falling pillar would provide an obstacle to overcome before he could deal with his impending doom.

Re: A Call from the Void
Ryder’s vision cleared and he regained his senses just in time to hear the all too familiar hiss of a Lightsaber. It took but a moment to also realize that there were two blades but he didn’t dare glance around the pillar to confirm. He took a breath and grabbed the hilt of his cortosis blade. CE’s voice cracked to life over his helm’s comm.
“Master across from you, I have your omega protocol ready.”
Ryder glanced over to spot the crimson droid hold the hilt of his Lightsaber. He knew he wouldn’t be able to face this monster without it. Before anything else could be done Ryder felt his senses warn him of impending danger seconds before the red blade seared through the pillar like a knife to butter. The human rolled back, activating his PSG and camo suit. In a moment his suit blended to the surrounding making him nearly invisible. The pillar crashed to the ground causing a spray of dust and dirt to fill the air.
Ryder knew full well a straight fight would end him, he’d have to pull all his tricks during this encounter. “CE, shoot him now!” He ordered into his headset.
The droid nodded as it pulled its holdout blaster and opened up on the Zabrak. While it would hardly effect the beast of a man it would provide a distraction. With that moment Ryder called on the Force to pull his Lightsaber across the main thoroughfare and into his outstretched invisible hand.
“Now run,” he ordered again.
The droid darted from its cover as Ryder moved himself into a position to strike out at the Sith as soon as he seemed distracted. He prepared himself to ignite the grey-silver blade and dashed in to make a quick slash on the Zabrak.

Re: A Call from the Void
The pillar came tomplong over crashing to the ground, the sandstone structure exploded into the tiny sand particles that were the foundations of the this tomb spraying all over the chambers, temporarily blinding the Dreadlord, placing his arm over his eyes to protect them from the sand. When the dust cleared away, there was no lifeless or living body found, but the presence was still lingering over the hallway being a massive standing out feature compared to the Dark Side that had nearly taken this place as it’s home. However, Kroxata had found something peculiar, footsteps marked out from the sand, footsteps that were not his followed by a dent in the ground that had not been touched in what seemed to been a millennium.
He was interrupted from his investigation from a blaster shot that struck his back, his armor provided the durability so the shot did little to pierce through into his skin, but the knockback effect caused the Dreadlord to stumble forward, turning to face the soulless droid that would dare attack a Dark Lord of the Sith. It's shots were indeed accurate, but with it’s programming came flaws, the shots were to easily blocked, still wielding his double bladed Lightstaff with one hand, he swiftly moved his blade to swipe away the other shots before watching as the droid made it’s exit, a pitiful thing, not even worth chasing.
All felt too easy to the Sith Lord, none of what he done had revealed this force sensitive that shared the same power he sought, until, catching a tiny glimpse of a lightsaber shooting through the air, one he did not recognise before finally setting in a single position. Without hesitation, Kroxata shot out his hand using the Force to send a wave of energy crashing towards the lightsaber’s spot in hopes of hitting or at least revealing the next foe that would fall to his blade.
