As Ryder began his dash at the Zabrak Sith it turned with unexpected grace and released a wave of Force energy at Ryder. The human was launch off his feet and thrown back into the wall of the tomb. As he hit the wall his camo dropped as pain spiked through his back. Ryder fell from the now dented wall to one knee and looked up at his foe.

His heads-up display warned him not to activate the cloak for several minutes while the system reset and cooled down. “So much for that plan,” Ryder muttered to himself as he rose to his feet. “Plan B...”

He pulled his cortosis blast sword with his right hand, with that in combination with the cortosis weave and Mandalorian iron of his robotic arm he created a physical defense against the Sith sabers. Ryder moved his stance to put his right side forward to take full advantage of this. He’d use his sword for defense and his Lightsaber for quick strikes.

“CE, while I distract him go for my rifle,” Ryder spoke into his headset.

“I will do my best Master,” the droid replied.

“Alright beast,” Ryder taunted, his voice modulated by the suit’s speaker. “If that was your best shot then you don’t deserve that holocron!” Ryder needed the Zabrak to charge him so he’d get away from the pillar where the rifle lay.

The predator and the privateer...

With a growl, the Dathomirian Hammer leapt forth, his crimson blade flung overhead, poised for a downward strike. Ryder however, was more expecting of an attack than he'd been before, and managed a narrow parry with his blastsword. The tattooed assailant snarled as the plasma extension of his weapon sputtered and wavered in response to the nullifying alloy. Having achieved a moment's reprieve, the lithe human saw an opportunity for counterattack, and thrust out with his own luminous saber, aiming to strike the Zabrak on the right shoulder. Alas, Kroxata was not one to suffer such trickery, and in conscious, fluid motion, the Sith warrior leapt back andaway from his enemy's assault. Traveling with the momentum of his retreat, the Zabrak's cool temperament resurged with venomous anger, as he spun about and delivered a harsh snap-kick to Ryder's midsection.

Gasping for air, Ryder was knocked back once more, utilizing all his mental energies to avoid losing his footing. Hunched over where he stood, the Zabrak surmised his opponent would not provide such a handy resistance a second time. And yet, Ryder's own reserve of frustration bubbled within, and as his horned foe bore down on him again, he reasserted his stance, and locked both blades with those of his aggressor. In that instant, the duo locked eyes, each glaring intensely, as if to melt the other where they stood. Nonetheless, the Zabrak's pound upon pound of raw muscle began to shift into gear, and Ryder's boots sank in the sand as the Sith slowly increased the tension of the laser gridlock. To the Sith's surprise, the rugged human's stance displayed no sign of terror- but rather amusement. A hoarse chuckle reverberated from the sly mercenary, and without warning his head came thundering against Kroxata's with tremendous force.

Stunned more so than injured, the Sith warrior raised his lightclub up in a reflexive recoil, and inadvertently exposed his armored abdomen. Whilst his lightsaber remained occupied, Ryder saw an opening for his other steely blade, and swept it down and across the onyx plating bound about Zabrak's midsection. With the Force ashis guide, the self-made man delivered a ribbon-sized incision to his foe, only barely managing to overcome the industrial carapace. All the same, Kroxata's face souredas he felt a small mist of blood erupted from his stomach. The cut had been superficial, but painful. What had been anger before now boiled over into a unrestricted rage. Seething from his melee shortcomings, the Zabrak deftly freed a single hand from his weapon, and sent it barreling down at his opponent's jaw-line. With a sickening crunch, a beefy set of knuckles caught the side of Ryder's cheek, and sent him tumbling down into the remains of the downed pillar.

The seasoned businessmen became intimately acquainted with the floor, sliding across the unforgiving sandstone for several feet, and kicking up a dust cloud in his wake. Groaning from the bruises incurred by his journey, a reassuring beep alerted Ryder that his cloak unit had achieved optimal charging, and was ready for reuse. Not wanting to receive another such hit, the journeyman Force User quickly reactivated his camouflage, and temporarily disengaged his lightsaber. Now, for all intents and purposes, his person, as well as the blastsword would be all but indiscernible from the particulate matter shifting about the center of the room. Meanwhile, still overcome with primal fury, Kroxata fiercely scanned the contents of the shimmering fog, attempting to make out any sign of his prey. After a few futile moments, the Sith juggernaut concluded that he would make no progress standing on the sidelines. Drawing on the power of the Dark Side and his hunter's instincts, the Zabrak tookup his weapon once more, and careful crept in the haze of sand.

Though Kroxata saw not but the wisps of granulated soil, he sensed the hidden figure- on the precipice of an attack! With a casual grunt, the Sith warrior dexterously swung his double-bladed instrument in a perfect arc, and met with the familiar resistance of the smaller blastsword. The slender weapon retracted upon contact, and allfell still. The last of the Nightbrothers remained at the ready, continuing to spin his saber about in a circular motion. Then came a second strike, followed by a third. Theindomitable emissary of darkness, now wise to this game, perpetuated his iron defense, until a hiss of energy caught him off guard. Turning about, the Sith very
narrowly avoided the sinuous gray beam that threatened to run him through. Ryder grit his teeth in response to this failure, as he had otherwise exposed his position tohis foe. And indeed, the Dathomirian Hammer was more than happy to oblige a response.

A furious exchange of blows ensued. The Sith, playing to his inhumane strength, battered away at Ryder's blades with reckless abandon, striking with such force so as to cleave his weapons from hand. The human instigator, for his part, was not to be taken lightly, and his aim served him well, blocking several strikes and redirecting their energy into his own lethal blows. In this way, the behemoth of an assassin received additional cuts to his bulky forearms, and a grazing gash across the chest. Ryder, for his boldness, was not unpunished, and his opponent's lengthier tool seared and singed his left shoulder, and threatened a number of servos in his artificial appendage. For all his efforts, the human found himself tiring again, though his counterpart had also begun to show signs of wear of tear. A foot of breathing room broke between the two, as Kroxata leveled his dread foil at his waist, and lunged forth with all of his might. In that mercurial moment, Ryder leapt over crimson lance, spun about, and flew across his opponent's backside.

Further provoked by this indignation, the Zabrak followed the turn, and endeavored to duplicate his previous attack. Despite his size, Kroxata had no difficulties keepingpace, and Ryder's landing was almost undone by another cinnabar spear directed up at the nape of his neck. The Black Star CEO's face contorted into a hideously distraught complexion as the sinister light missed their mark by a hair. Kicking off with all his might, the shorter combatant leapt back from yet another swing of his enemy's blade, and landed some feet away. As his boots hit the ground once more, he detected a panicked mechanical yelp, and found he had unintentionally knocked over his chromium ally. He paused for an instant to look at his clumsy associate, before turning back about to observe his attacker's lurid, glowing eyes fixed upon a point on the floor. Ryder followed his enemy's gaze, and saw that the prized holocron sat at a near equal midpoint between them.

With manic motion, the Sith warrior pumped his wrist toward the geometric artifice, his pleading finger outstretched. Ryder didn't wait for an invitation to do the same, and soon the holocron was hoisted into the air, stuck between a rock and a mischievous hard-place. Viciously siphoning off the Dark Side energies around him, Kroxata snarled at his dogged contender, bellowing out, "It- is- mine!". Ryder parted his lips to deliver an appropriate quip, but a shift in surroundings quickly dissuaded him. The surface of the holocron began to buckle and glow with a piercing violet energy, and walls of tomb were violently overtaken with blurred images and indiscriminant shadows. A green, vibrant world sprang into view, unto it faded into a defiled rocky mass, rippling with teal lightning. A masked individual was seen marching forth, lightsaber in hand, and an alabaster masque covering his visage.

The air around the haunting man seemed to burn up and dissipate, and a more familiar horned figure took his place, with a legion of onyx acolytes following in his wake. Kroxata watched with awe, entranced as he observed the colossal hull of ancient cruiser, that almost seemed to call out to the Darkside somewhere deep within his core. Then, the images disintegrated all at once, as an ungodly synthetic whine heralded the end of the holocron's structural integrity. With a petite pop, the agelessvessel of knowledge split in two, releasing a ghoulish wave of pure cosmic power that sent Ryder, and his unfortunate spine crumpling up against an intact pillar. Kroxata, for his part, made full contact with the unbridled dynamo of Dark Side energies, which launched him through a thinner wall of the tower, and hurtling down into the sands below. He rolled down the neighboring dunes for a time, until he had sunk up to his waist in the desert's grains, defeated.
