And So We Meet Again (Kota)

Post by Rhoden Carbine » Tue Apr 03, 2018 11:50 pm

Rhoden jerked awake from his dream as the console of the Firehawk beeped at him. He pulled back a lever and the ship dropped out of hyperspace. "You look annoyed." Jorvan said, stretching as he yawned. "Yeah, just had a dream cut short." Rhoden replied, "Something about... a dancing Parwan and..." Rhoden shook his head and cut off the sentence as Jorvan's eyes narrowed. "It was nothing, nothing!" Rhoden said hastily.

"Freighter Firehawk state your business and cargo." a rugged, and bored, sounding voice came over the comm. "No cargo, gonna pick some up with any luck." Rhoden said, adopting an accent. "Cleared for Landing Pad 3." the comm clicked off without any further comment and Rhoden took the ship in. He danced through the usual gouging on landing fees and immediately headed for a cantina that appeared to be relatively popular.

As he approached the door a Weequay and a Gamorrean stepped in his path. "Closed, mate. Get lost." the Weequay said, the Gamorrean--unsurprisingly--just grunted menacingly. "It doesn't look closed to me, move aside, or be moved." Rhoden wasn't in the mood for games, and while it might be a bit suspicious or troubling to slaughter two lookouts he could hopefully get away with beating them senseless.

The Weequay smiled and brought his rifle up to aim at Rhoden quickly--or rather, he tried to. Rhoden reached out a hand, halting the blaster, he yanked it out of the man's hands and snapped the man's left arm out and backwards. There was a light pop and the unsavory alien cursed, before slumping down unconscious as Rhoden connected the butt of the rifle to the back of his head.

The Gamorrean--who had watched his comrade get beaten down without a hint of action--closed his mouth and swung his axe with a grunt. Rhoden stepped back with a sigh and Jorvan jabbed one hand at the side of the fleshy aliens head, dropping him on top of the Weequay. They quickly rolled the beaten creatures aside and entered the cantina.

Jorvan quickly slid to the left into an empty booth and Rhoden slid to his right into one which was occupied--men who appeared to be associates of those outside peeked out, and, seeing nothing returned to their business--and Rhoden gave a jolt as he recognized the person whom he had joined.

"Er. Hello, again." he said sheepishly. What his cousin, the Lady Kota, was doing here he didn't know--nor did he care to find out. As he greeted her he felt the pain he had suffered following their first and only meeting resurface. He had no particular reason to feel close to her, and she wasn't fond of him either it seemed. But, she had suffered from a less than stellar family life just as he had. It was a mutual sense of loss, he thought, that drew him to her, or perhaps it was the thought that the woman might hold some understanding for his own position.

He sighed, "Terribly sorry to intrude on your... ah... whatever it is you're up to," Rhoden said, "Me and Jorvan just thought we'd drop in on an old friend." he grimaced, "I'm afraid he may have landed himself in a spot of trouble again..." He could feel Jorvan's gaze and, more importantly, his scowl, but the man would have to initiate a plan on his own. The pirates had seen Rhoden, but Jorvan remained unseen, and as such would not raise suspicions if he, say, climbed up into the rafters and lighting.

Nar Shadaa was another santuary for her, she got away from things, blended in with the background, and found good food here. She had found a seat at a cantina and went to order food. There were the usual fights, it was full of shaddy individuals who were passing through or looking for someone who might want to hide here. She took a sip of her water as she waited for her food when she heard him.

Kota almost spit out her water. "Why the hell? Nevermind, I don't want to know." She said as her meal arrived. "If you don't mind go back to where ever and let me eat." She said. She proceeded to start cutting up her food, but stopped when she saw him not moving. "Look I don't know what you want but I have no interest in whatever it is." She said.

Nar Shaddaa had earned its moniker "Smuggler's Moon" from the massive criminal underworld that infested its grime-covered and dilapidated urban sprawl. In many ways it was a melting pot of the major criminal organizations and cartels; Red Keys stared across smoky cantinas at the Crymorah. Pykes, or what was left of them, scraped by on the scraps that the battered but yet unbroken Black Sun tossed their way. The Blue Star Pirates operated on the moon, but, as always, they remained hidden behind illusion. The right word at one of the thousand brothels that seemed to crop up during the humid Nar Shaddaa nights could lead you into a back room where you might find the Black Hand himself playing high stakes sabacc. A gesture at a local shockboxing club could grant you access to a majordomo with the connections to grant you any of the services that the Blue Star Pirates had to offer. Ultimately, though, everything operated under the graces of one cartel-- the Hutts. There was not one piece of action on the moon that the Hutts weren't aware of, or that they didn't have a stake in.

Thus, the unceremonious flooring of Weequay and Gamorrean bouncers did not escape the notice of one lowlife who made a meager living sharing what his sensitive eyes picked up on the streets of Nar Shaddaa. Snuut, a robed Kubaz who fancied himself an information broker, but in reality, was nothing more than a street urchin who happened to constantly be at the right place at the right time, saw it all. Even scum such as he could pick up the honed martial prowess that the Humans displayed long before they dispatched the Weequay and Gamorrean. On a moon filled with those that had rejected governmental authority, the way that the two men carried themselves as soon as they stepped off of Landing Pad 3 may as well have streamed "Imperial!" from a neon sign. They were straight laced, upright, and deadly efficient. The Hutts would want to know about the Empire on their precious gem of a moon, and so would many others. Yes, on the Smuggler's Moon, one did not feed oneself by merely reporting information to one party. Snuut survived through spreading what he knew across multiple channels.

Making his rounds along the busy streets, which took him just beyond Landing Pad 3 where the Imperials' ship rested, Snuut sought one of his go-to dives that agents of the Blue Star Pirates were known to frequent. After he pushed through the constant flow of foot traffic, he eventually made it inside, giving the customary gesture and codeword to allow him down into the basement where he found those who might pay for his information.

"So the Captain tells 'em, 'The lowlifes I hang around with gotta saying; first time's free, second time'll cost ya,'" a Nautolan that seemed to be missing a few of his head-tails told a group of associates seated around in a circle, who collectively responded with a boom of howling laughs and stomping feet.

A Verpine's mandibles seemed to be slowly working as he glanced at his Trandoshan companion in amusement from their seats positioned in the back corner.

One of the pirates near the steps saw Snuut and approached him as the Kubaz descended from the last stair, shouting over the cacophony, "What's on tap tonight, Snu?"

It seemed as though the perfect opportunity had been dropped in their lap. With a little fenangling, the job that had presented itself with only minimul credit cost would be over in no time at all. In and out, and all the better for it. Doctor Krussk began to chart out the finer details of what would need to be done alongside Master Buggie. Munitions were checked, infiltration and exfiltration points were marked, required equipment was checked, this was about to be a very fun day to be an infiltrator. Krussk looked over to Buggie saying, "only thing we need to decide now is the when as to the equation. That's on you sir".

"No, no, no, no, no." Rhoden said quickly, smiling. "I'm just talking for the sake of talking... actually... I hope no one over there can read lips." he said, "Whoever these thugs are, they've noticed me and I'd rather not get shot at today." he saw Jorvan vanish into the darkness out of the side of his eye. "I'm terribly sorry you've gotten mixed up in whatever this is."

Rhoden's smile widened, "Anyways, how have you been?" he asked. He waved over another waiter, "An ale, nothing too strong. Hmm, and some of this soup, that sounds good. Yes, thank you." he said, watching the waiter walk off with one eye. "Ah, we may be stuck here for a while." he said apologetically.

OOC: Why do I get jumped by Sith and Pirates everywhere I go?!

Kota wasn't amused by the fact that he was staying, then she felt it. It had been a little over two years, but she knew the Jedi master Buggie. She sighed. "What the hell did you do to gain the chase of a Jedi master!" She said a little louder. She wasn't happy about this, what ever was going on had made her lose her meal. It wasn't that it was cold, she had lost her appetite.

This was one of her few days she had away from troubles, to have a quiet meal, now it had gone to waste as she now was being drawn into this mess. "Come on tell me what is going on." She said. Kota's patience was normally good, but in this case it seemed to be running thin. The fact that he was family didn't make a difference right now, it seemed that he was being chased by a Jedi master. This was not something easily accomplished.

It was decided that there was no time like the present; if the pirates were to move, they were to do it now. A few credit chips in the pocket of the Kubaz kept the information he had brought the Blue Stars off the streets for a little while longer-- that, and the two large pirates that took the street urchin upstairs to keep him occupied while the captains carried out their scheme.

The pirates dispersed into the flow of foot traffic back toward their objective. Buggie's poncho billowed with every step that he took, the garment not betraying the equipment that he had tucked beneath, save for the large pouch mounted on the left breast and the comlink tucked within a loop on the right. As the pirates proceeded, Buggie tapped on the comlink twice to signal he was making his move as he stepped around a horde of Gran braying at one another on the side of the street.

This humid night was bustling on the Smuggler's Moon, though it could be said that most nights could qualify by that description. Buggie had witnessed the celebrations that signaled the end of the work week on several of the galaxy's ecumenopoleis, and while there were no standard work hours on Nar Shaddaa, this particular night was reminiscent in many respects. Tipsy sentients of all species could be found roving the streets, as well as those looking to take advantage of their stupor. Markets that had won the protection of local gangs were scattered here and there, hawking their greasy foodstuffs to the inebriated masses. The smell of sweat and hot meat filled the air; it was a good night to fall into the crowds and disappear in plain sight.

To a Verpine, the scents and sounds in the air could only be registered through the antennae. As two such antennae swayed to the sound of clattering within the cantina where the Imperials now sat, one such Verpine strode through the threshold, taking a moment to gaze across the seated patrons and pausing for a nearly imperceptible moment as he passed over a couple seated in a secluded booth before settling for the bar.

Krussk moved stealthily through the shipyard with scant compliment in tow. His goal was the imperial ship at the end of the bay. The security codes purchased better work he thought as he approached the vessel. It'd take too long and be too conspicuous to try to cut through the outside. No, if he were to enter, he'd have to do it from the front door as it were. If he weren't reptilian, Krussk would have been in a cold serat as he punched in the code, but almost to his surprise a green light flashed and the door opened. Now came the hard part he thought as he entered the ship.

((OOC: I'm sure this is just a simple oversight, but I believe Krussk intended to use the BSP-specific Slicer Droid to gain that access code. Having an access code to someone else's ship without proper justification would be against the fair play guidelines. Let's keep moving forward with the fun!))

The waiter set a drink and his food in front of him. Rhoden smiled and took a drink, choking on it as Kota spoke. "Jedi?!" he asked, he brought his hands up to his face, "Darnik what have you done?" he asked weakly from behind his hands. He looked up at Kota, "Please tell me he's not close..." he began before a chirp from his comm cut him off.

The boarding ramp lowered and Dot's head swiveled to face the interest, he floated silently up to the ceiling of his masters ship and moved towards the interest. He sent an automated alert to Ravager, Shadow, and Stalker as his sensors failed to register his masters presence. Ravager, on the other side of the ship, stepped out from his concealed portion of wall and reading his blaster. Shadow chirped softly and began making his way toward the ship's controls, and Stalker met up with Ravager, addressing him silently [Oh do please let me torture him! It would bring warmth to even the coldest of my processors.]

Rhoden stiffened, "Someone's trying to break into my ship!" he growled, his eyes flashing. He gritted his teeth, "I don't want to get you involved in anything but me and Jorvan are about to blast our way out of this place."

A strange creature walked up the ramp but Dot cared not what it was, he gave a mechanical shriek and sent three red blaster bolts down at the figure from above before extending his arms like talons and charging past the figure, swinging as he went. Shadow rolled into the cockpit and sealed the door, chirping nervously, he extended an arm and began working frantically, he could flood the ship with toxic gas, or simply vent all the air. Something.
