Ryder nodded as he watched Kota leave, it was best if Carbine didn’t see much of them together. He turned and made his way to the bridge where he’d wait for her eventual return.
As Ryder walked he contacted the Black Star to depart and leave his Helix behind. The larger vessel needed to get on with its business in the sector and Ryder could easily catch up with it later. Now he’d wait for Kota, he hoped to get her to accept him into the Inquisition.

I will never see or get to know this other grandfather period, the Empire will never stop taking things from me, so they can have him and you will always be an Imperial to me. Now you have ten minutes to get off my ship, these men will escort you. If you should choose not to leave that ysalamiri will not save you from my wraith, I'm highly trained in those." She said and proceeded to leave. When she was gone the cell would open, two of her strongest aliens would escort him, one of them was Ragar he was a wookie.
Kota made her way back to the bridge, where she knew her grand Admiral was awaiting with Corran. Tann watched the cameras from the bridge, he watched and listened to Kota chew out Rhoden. 'What a fool.' Tann thought. He heard the door open. "Hello Corran or it's Ryder these days, you'll forgive me it's hard sometimes to keep up with things." He said.
Kota made her way back to the bridge, where she knew her grand Admiral was awaiting with Corran. Tann watched the cameras from the bridge, he watched and listened to Kota chew out Rhoden. 'What a fool.' Tann thought. He heard the door open. "Hello Corran or it's Ryder these days, you'll forgive me it's hard sometimes to keep up with things." He said.

Rhoden's eyes narrowed, "I see you missed my point in its entirety." he said, "No matter." He gestured to Jorvan who stood, "We'll be leaving now. Perhaps we will meet again." Rhoden said. She had renounced her family, and challenged their honor on top of it, if indeed they met again it would be in battle.
As he began to be escorted he turned and spoke again to her, "You cannot deny your heritage. I may leave but it will be with you always. We may meet again as foes in battle, but you will always be a Carbine." and he laughed, Jorvan looked at him, alarmed, but Rhoden didn't care. As far as he was concerned this was a victory. To know that there was a Carbine who had a more screwed up life than he did was refreshing and he continued chuckling to himself until he reached his ship.
"Dot, get us the hell out of here. There's nothing for us but lost causes and sob stories." Rhoden said, Jorvan seemed to understand at these words and shook his head, "You've got issues Rhoden." Rhoden snorted in response, "Stating the obvious as usual." Jorvan sighed and sat down as the ship lurched and jumped to hyperspace--it appeared that Dot had already calculated the jump having had nothing better to do and a nervous processor.
Rhoden became serious as he sat, and pulled up a report, Black Star had connections with Lady Kota, and despite his visit being a family matter he couldn't ignore what he'd seen, which he'd never claimed he'd do at any rate. He sighed and began writing up the report for the Grand Admiral.
Dot had confirmed the ship remained untampered with, which was something, at least. Rhoden huffed a breath, he didn't know whether to be disappointing in Kota or infuriated with the Sith. He settled for both.

Ryder stepped onto the bridge of Kota’s dreadnought and was immediately greeted by the good Admiral.
“Indeed it is Tann,” Ryder replied, still not sure how he carried the rank of ‘Grand Admiral’. “Much like your Lady I’ve had to live with multiple faces and as far as anyone’s concerned Corran is dead.”
The businessman looked down at the screen Tann was watching. “She could take advantage of his ‘recourses’ and than leave him in the dark.” His grey eyes looked back up at Tann. “I mean I’m sure you guys could always use extra.”

He kept his eyes on the screen. "It's about keeping him distant, so he can't be used against her should one choose to. The little anyone has to use against her the better, besides the council of Empire would see everything and anything taken from her. Nothing I have see has changed that." He said. 'There's something's best kept a secret.' he thought.
'This is for your protection and hers.' She thought. Rhoden had to earn her trust, which he simply hadn't. Kota was not an easy woman to gain trust, Argus had gotten some as well as Doren, but it wasn't enough to tell them everything outside the Empire concerning herself. Besides she also didn't want anyone to know of her daughter, it was the best way to protect her.

Rhoden filed his report and sat in silence for the rest of the journey, which consisted of several jumps--as per security protocol--to arrive at Outpost A-832, Utopia as it was so called by those who lived and worked there. Rhoden walked down the ramp of his ship, which had landed in the hangar of the Hydra which was docked at the station. Rhoden immediately took a lift to the operations level.
"Did you find anything of note, sir?" the station commander, Armand Kaon, asked. "You could say that. Contact our assets and have them cease their investigation." Rhoden responded. Kaon looked carefully at Rhoden but decided it would be both futile and foolish to question the order. "Aye, sir." Rhoden nodded and left for his quarters.
"Ah, Rhoden I was wondering if you might--" Justin Veimkh began as Rhoden neared the door to his quarters. "Not now." he nearly snapped. Justin blinked in surprise and backed off, a confused look on his face. Jorvan rounded the corner. having heard the response, and caught Rhoden's eye. Justin turned and made his escape, passing Jorvan who gave him a grimace of sympathy. Once Justin had left he gave Rhoden a shoo gesture. "Get in there before you alienate half the crew."
Rhoden spent the next few days brooding in his quarters. When he became tired of doing nothing he felt productive he attempted to head down to tinker with Dot some more, but Jorvan had locked him in and only relented to having supplies brought up to Rhoden. And so he worked in private, muttering threats and curses under his breath until Dot began beeping annoyed tones at him. "Ok then, you can go." Rhoden said, frustration in his voice. The droid beeped derisively and floated out of the room.
Rhoden paced for a while, thinking over the meeting again and again. Certainly he was angry and upset about Kota's feelings on matters of family but that wasn't the only thing gnawing away at him. No. He had seen or heard something, something important somehow. But damned if he could figure out what it was. He ran through his entire time on the ship over and over, the memory as fresh and crisp in his mind as everything else he knew was, but to no avail. Memories did not elude Rhoden, it was impossible, so whatever it was he had noticed had to be so small that he couldn't place it even with the memory.
Rhoden turned to the viewport which normally provided a magnificent view of the space outside the station, but which was now displaying the artificial image of Alderaanian landscape. He saw his reflection in the viewport, reminding him so greatly of years past and felt anger flash within him. He snarled and slammed his hands into the viewport causing the artificial image to stutter and distort. He took deep breaths and turned, walking over to a seat. He called for a drink, something strong, but Jorvan had apparently told the droids to moderate Rhoden. He sighed, Jorvvan was a good man, looking out for Rhoden's mental and physical health. But right now he wanted to tear the man limb from limb.

Ryder nodded as Tann explained Kota’s situation. “I understand that, it’s half of why I had to fake my death.” His eyes watched the screen as Carbine left.
“Its also why it’d be good for me to join her within the Inquisition,” he continued with the thought of winning Tann’s support. “We can watch each other’s backs while surrounded by sharks.” The two of them already kept the others secret, it could only benefit them if they worked together and shared recourses. Ryder could only hope that he and Kota could come to an arrangement that allowed his identity to remain unknown.

"Unfortunately faking her death is not an option, not with everything as it is." Tann said as he no longer watched the screen. She was almost here there was no need to watch with the Imperial off the ship. "There is far more at stake than simple matters anymore." Tann said. "So simple matters now is how you put our people." She said as she stepped on the bridge.
He turned to look. "I'm sorry my lady, I've over stepped." Tann said. "No you know the full picture." She said then looked at Corran. "My agreement with Argus was made with Doren present. I am to give them funds and services for them to withdraw from my home after they help repair the damages. My powers are only used when Argus gives the command. This is the contract, the only way to break the contract is if they force me to fight Xavius or Krynn. (Pauses) I have long accepted that I will never return home, so for me the contract has changed. However I don't want the Empire knowing what it is I truly want, because they might take from me. So I serve them quietly away from the council's eyes while maintaining Kota's appearance so no suspection is known. This way I keep what I want safe." She said.

Ryder nodded as he listened to Kota, the two had known each other for many years now but there were still secerets they didn't know about each other. He wasn't here to drag out secrets though, Ryder was here to continue their friendship and alliance to mutually benift them both.
"I understand your position with Argus and the moffs, it's why I feel more compelled to be by your side within the Inquisition." Ryder replied. "Together we can help guarantee the others safety and that our identities remain hidden. We are surrounded by wolves, we must stick together. Mr. Carbine is only the first of many who will probably try sniffing around and one of them might find out something they shouldn't but I can help prevent that, I've been a spy my entire career, I know how to make people follow the wrong trail."
He looked at his old friend, and while he didn't wear the same face as he used to, Ryder still had Corran's caring soul.

She looked at him, her eyes seemed sad. "You understand so little." She said. She motioned Tann, he nodded before pushing a button. On the screen rev could see her grandfather sitting smiling as he seemed to watch what was going on in the room. A small akk pup was running around being chased by a child, she appeared to be no more than two with black hair. She caught the akk pup, but then her eyes turned towards the camera. They were known to rev, Xavius had such eyes, pure black. Tann turned the screen off. "It's not about me, it never was, I am protecting her. The Empire, the alliance, no one save Xavius and now you. I'm working with the Empire so that she can grow in peace, without me having to worry about the empire taking her from me. That's why I am what I am." She said.
Her child was by her ysalamiri, to protect her presence and her, with Ragar just outside no one was stupid enough to mess with a wookie. Even if they still somehow got past him, Rahm wasn't an easy target, he knew how to defend the child even without the force. Still she felt it best to keep her away from it all, she knew her daughter wasn't normal by any means. Corran was her oldest friend, she trusted him to keep this save, for her sake.
