Re: Echoes of Eternity
He huffed, amusedly. “Never too early to drink, lass. It keeps the edge away and helps avoid confrontations with that Echani bastard.” His rock slid over the beskad over and again, gently and carefully tending to his blade’s edge. After a few more strokes he took up the blade and set it to his arm and softly shaved hair from his skin - testing the edge - it shaved without causing any marks on his arm and with unfathomable ease. Pleased, he spun the blade around, wiped off the surface and set it down across his lap. He smiled wryly at her, “I’d rather be in this cargo hold than anywhere near that backstabbing snake, you are welcome to stay though.”
Now that she was here though he took out his combat knife and sat forward to stab the nice plump white meat from the spat he’d set up over the fire and he bit a chunk out of it. It was tender and juicy. If there was one thing Jacobi was good at it was cooking meat. Again satisfied he leaned over to Kita and offered her a bite. Taking it back and chomping down again once she was through with it. “I think the Echani’s belongings add a certain slice flavor to the smoke that cooks into the meat. I think I should burn some more of his junk. But we have a few days on this trip so there’s plenty of time for that.” He bit another chunk after offering her some again. It was delicious, to him. He wanted more - he’d have to raid Silas’ pantries later.
Finishing off the avian he shoveled down the starch after once more offering some to Kita. A bit dry but it did the trick. Finally ending the meal with a swig from the bottle which he edged towards the blonde. He caught the sad look in her smile and he knew all too well that expression. It was one he held on quite a few occasions. Of things left undone and things left unsaid.
But there then were the times that sometimes it was the words that were never spoken - the ones that were in the eyes - that told the story of truth. So he looked at her and rebuffed her sad smile with a confident one of his own and then shattered whatever awkward silence that almost settled in - “Well, if its a nap then,” shuffling a bit closer to the girl he leaned over and laid down as well, using her shoulder as a pillow and draping one arm across her midsection. Jacobi was never shy and his actions spoke louder than his words.
“I could use one.”
If she squirmed away or otherwise pushed him aside he wouldn’t take it hard nor personally. It was not how he thought of things.

Re: Echoes of Eternity
Kita didn't say much when it came to Jacobi mention of choice words of silas. Sure the priest was perhaps a backstabber of sorts before his corruption fully with the darkside, but that didn't mean he was ALL bad. Obviously Kita was realizing some of the Sith who had turned were once very decent people. "Well, if your going to drink, then u might as well share." She replied casually.
“I’d rather be in this cargo hold than anywhere near that backstabbing snake, you are welcome to stay though.”
She smiled at the mandolorian at his comment. "I wouldn't want to leave you anyway. And I get bored by myself. You are company I rather enjoy being in the presence of."
She gladly took a bite of the meat while tilting her head slightly to the side. The food was delicious but almost flew out in chewed up chunks towards Jacobi. Thankfully it didn't and she quickly covered her hand over her mouth, laughing. For some reason his comment struck her as funny...and yet it was awful. Silas had been having his belongings burned just seemed so harsh. But of course she knew he did deserve it somewhat.
Thankfully taking the food and liquor from the mandolorian, she quietly enjoyed eating the meal. Once done, Kita couldn't help but smile back at Jacobi. His smile was somehow contagious as his one good yellow eye looled into hers. She stilled however as Jacobi mentioned taking a nap, resting his head on her shoulder. Her blue eyes widened in surprise as she stared at him in wonder. Taking notice of his arm wrapping around her and keeping it around her midsection loosely.
What was she supposed to do? Move away? Kita really didn't want too. Silently she looked down at him as he closed his eyes, slowly beginning to drift off to sleep. She wasn't one to disturb or one to seem forward. If Kita hadn't known any better, she could have sworn this was some sort of affection from the mandolorian. But she couldn't be sure. She felt like it was possibly Jacobi's way of saying he liked her in some way romantically. But of course she also liked words since she didn't always understand without someone saying something.
Flushed, she turned towards him and decided to take advantage of the situation. No one was around to bother her. And Jacobi was asleep. So she could happily indulge in this moment without being judged for it. If he hadn't been resting his head on her shoulder, she would have turned on her side and snuggled into him. But that wasn't possible. Instead she rested her head on his and smiled as she grabbed his hand and held it firmly. It wasn't much, but it was something.
"When are you going to say anything to the guy?? You need to say something! Obviously he isn't if there is anything feelings for you from him."
She ignored her own concious and began drifting off to sleep.

Re: Echoes of Eternity
Silas stopped in place not sure he could bring his self to grant Kita a proper reply. “It would do little to guise the identity of the former empress as any delving would grant her title.” Despite his own outward recognition it still took another moment and a heavy breath before Silas continued. “Krynn…her name was Krynn.” Despite his best efforts the utterance still carried a great deal of weight and worse regret. One of the key elements integral to setting events in motion as they were now and to Silas her death lay at his feet. Just another in a long list of lives ruined by his shortcomings. Unable to endure any further inquiries the former noble departed Kita’s company.
***48 hours later***
Less than a day now remained until the trio reached their destination. And for Silas the travel could not cease soon enough. Jacobi’s habits were infuriating doled out over the course of the better part of a week. Having become accustomed to Tormentous’s disposition Silas had not anticipated the wrecking ball of an alter ego’s capacity for disorder. Seething at every glance to the manner that his own belongings treatment the priest sought solace in Nil’s company. “The final jump will place us a half sector from our target. Our incoming trajectory alongside the stealth capabilities of this craft should allow us safe approach. However…”
Silas knew where the conversation was heading. “Although no Sith vessel could simply approach as such. We need to barter transport before entering Bastion’s sector. If we can leave this ship at a nearby system it should allow us the needed subterfuge.” After some counter-discussion from Nil, Silas reluctantly departed to address the situation with Jacobi. Always one to derive unusual solutions for seemingly mundane dealings it would serve the three well to pool thoughts on the final approach. Reaching the proximity of the cargo hold Silas allowed his voice to carry a good distance to avoid any further undesired insight into his oldest rival. “We have arrived at the final junction into Bastion’s sector. It would be best to devise the manner of arrival. I doubt you wish to attempt landing this infiltrator planet-side but we could likely board their defense platform unnoticed. Now is the time to offer input as no alterations will be possible after this next jump.”
_______
Unbeknownst to the crew fortune had favored their voyage. Idaan had been all but exiled from Bastion and was stationed within the Deep Core. However, the mother of the empress had been recalled by the Lord Regent albeit to attend to some trivial state matters only to be cast back to isolation upon its conclusion. It had been one of few rare visits with the empress since the dissolution of the Unified Echani Systems. Though Idaan possessed a friendship with the Regent even he could not allow the former ruler to reside with the empress as political pressures demanded otherwise. As such the former Echani noblesse was currently still on Bastion, though soon scheduled to the shuttle that had escorted her via the Golan Defense Platform that guarded the system. If the trio missed this opportunity to intercept their target would need to be tracked through well-guarded imperial territory and likely held beyond their reach without intervention from the Sith Fleet, a notion Tormentous had already turned away from.

Re: Echoes of Eternity
Jacobi Wylcott was notorious for not sleeping well. Tonight though his ear to her shoulder and listening to the steady rhythm of her heartbeat - he slept like a rock and drooled all down her arm, and probably snored too but he was dead to the world and would have no recollection of it. He awoke softly and his blurred sleepy eye cracked open to catch his hand that was once around her midsection had traveled upwards and was resting on her chest. Instinctively he broke into a smile - proud of himself for not wasting an opportunity even while sleeping - the other part of him looked up to her face and noticed she was still out.
Sitting up now, call it still delirious from his excellent sleep or what have you, he never thought twice before rolling half way on top of her and kissing her awake. Once he captured her blue eyes peaking out he retreated, hiding nothing. “Morning,” he growled low, in his sleepy voice. “time to get up. We’ve got training to do.”
As if his actions had come from something he did regularly he pecked her once more on the forehead and then lifted himself up from the prone and up onto his feet with a stretch. Digging around he eventually found some water and drank it down - his snoring left his throat raspy. Fetching his blaster pistol he shot out of his little fortress and cleared the cargo hold - Silas wasn’t here so he didn’t have to shoot anyone. Then Jacobi proceeded to hunt his way through the ship to the kitchenette where he pilfered some eggs and bacon where he proceeded to retreat back to his hideaway.
Returning safely and without incident Jacobi stoked the fire with some of the broken furniture and cooked two helpings of breakfast which he split with a sleepy headed blonde girl with drool on her arm.
Scarfing down his meal he tossed the dishes aside into a growing pile which he had his warbot Five-Oh heft and take to the kitchenette where it would wash them. As this was done Jacobi stripped down to his workout fatigues and broke into his routine of calisthenics. Kita was of course welcome to join in. Her assistance for situps would be most welcome. But overall Jacobi’s level of seriousness seemed to drop off and he held a chat with Kita probably for the first time. He mostly spoke of his ship - how it was by and large better than this tub and how he’d spent long hours tearing it down and rebuilding it to specific marks and customizations. He went on about his beskad as well and once the workouts were over he asked her if she’d like to sharpen one. He did not mention the significance - a Mandalorian allowing someone else to touch his weapon at all much less to set blade to stone. But it was a means of his courtship.
With the rest of the day ahead of them. If she did not wander off he was prepared to spend it with her. There wasn’t much to do on this boring ship but they could make due with a long session of sparring, Jacobi doubted she had much training in hand to hand combat so would not shy from teaching her some basics - it’d come in handy most likely sooner rather than later.
As the time rolled on to what would be evening the Mandalorian grabbed up his pistol once more and offered his hand to hers. “Join me in raiding the pantry?”
As the time expired on the day he had Five-Oh guard the shower to ensure Silas did not attempt to ambush him and he offered the same protection to Kita. Then it was once again back to the fortress to sleep and then another day approached them both - another day he would have been happy to not see any sign of that Echani too.
In the dawn of the following day - he awoke to the sound of Silas approaching and up he went to address the Echani. Arming himself and making way to the briefing room where they discussed in depth their plans of taking the Infiltrator in using its stealth capabilities where they would arrive in system and locate an Imperial Communications Satellite. It was best to begin here by hacking into the un-monitored object and attempt to locate their target before deciding on the next course of action.

Re: Echoes of Eternity
Kita had been deep asleep in the Mandolorians embrace. Unknown to her, he was making gentle romantic advances as she slept. Kita had been dreaming in that moment she was kissing Jacobi, a moment she had been wishing was real. Once realizing it was nothing but a dream, she slowly began to awake from her slumber...only to find the madolorian had indeed been kissing her, his warm body settled over her as his good yellow eye stared deeply into hers with a smile on his face. "No...don't stop..." she thought as he pulled away, her face turning a deep red from the realization. Normally she would have smacked anyone who did that to her...but she couldn't bring her own hand upon the mandolorian. Why would she?
“Morning, time to get up. We’ve got training to do.”
She smiled, all the grogginess she should have felt was nonexistent for a second as he kissed her forehead. Of course knowing Jacobi had already been kissing her gave her the courage to do something she wasn't normally able to do. Saying anything when it came to her own affections wasn't easy, as she never had affections for anyone before til the mandolorian came along. So this gave her the perfect opportunity to show him how she felt. Of course, going back on this action alone would be one Kita wouldn't be forgetting about, and Jacobi seemed to make it seem like nothing.
"Go for it!"
As Jacobi began to pull away to stretch himself after a long nights sleep, Kita grabbed his arm firmly and sat upwards a bit, pulling him back down towards her. Partially from embarrassment and a rush of excitement from doing something out of character for herself, Kita kissed him back gently on the lips, affectionately before letting him go. Whether he said anything or not, she didn't care. As long as she did what she felt was right in that moment.
"Guess you DON'T have to say anything now." she thought happily.
If it hadn't been then, she might have never found the courage to do it at all. It gave her the perfect opportunity to show him how she felt without words of her own.
As Jacobi got a drink of water and left to search for food, Kita fell back on the makeshift bed and curled up for the time being with her eyes closed, a smile planted on her face. Still sleepy despite everything that happened so far that morning, she wasn't quite ready to wake up. It was a different story however once she began to smell food cooking. Kita almost leaped up in excitement, blonde hair a mess as her stomach growled, grabbing a plate of food from Jacobi’s hand eagerly before digging into it. She never had a bad meal from the mandolorian since she had met him. He wasn't only a survivor, but a good cook. "I wonder if he would teach me some cooking methods?"
Once done and he began his workout, she joined along with him. It was unusual seeing Jacobi so freely open for once with her. Usually he had been quiet, and even though she didn't mind, she could tell he had opened up a bit more to her each day they had spent together since being reunited after their separation from the battle on Vorpa’ya. Especially after he told her about Tormentous and himself being two different people in general. That had seemed to be the ice breaker between the two.
As Jacobi talked about his ship and blade, Kita hadn't minded he didn't bring up the kiss. The subject alone would have been awkward to talk about right then and there for her. Kita had preferred the subject mostly on him for the time being and responded back in turn, asking questions as she usually did. Handing him a cloth to wipe the sweat off of himself, she admired his toned torso before he sat next to her with his blade, offering her a chance to sharpen it. "Really?" She stared at it for a moment before happily taking it in her lap. "I'd be happy to give it a try." Taking the stone in hand, she let him put the oil on the blade as he showed her how to sharpen the edges.
The day went by quickly as he taught her hand on hand combat, something she rather enjoyed even though she met the ground quite a few times during their sparring sessions. But of course Kita always managed to throw a good hit in or two once in awhile. Looking up as she caught her breath, she took his hand as he offered for her to help him look for food. This was partially funny and intriguing. "Raiding the pantry huh? Sounds like fun." She smirked teasingly. "Burning Silas bed next im guessing?" Of course knowing Jacobi, that may have been true. They had found a good amount of food, some of which would have been saved for later as the days past.
Thankful for a shower, and knowing Jacobi was protecting her nearby, yet out of sight, she enjoyed a nice moment to herself before the two retired for the evening in the cargo hold. Wherever the Echani had been cooped up, Kita was happy he wasn't around to bother them. Not because she hated him like Jacobi, but because she was enjoying the time spent with him. Never the less, she still didn't trust Silas. However, his admittance to his sins did make her a little less wary. It was when he turned back to the sneaky priest that Kita wouldn't have the pleasure to keep her guard down a little bit. It would have to be brought up like a steel wall once again. "Being on guard all the time is exhausting."
She walked out of the shower, drying her hair with a towel and wrapped in another as she walked past Jacobi to grab her clothing and change in the private. Unlike him, she was still a lady with a means for modesty despite her current sith attire.
Waking up the next day, Kita turned and felt the beside next to her empty. It was still partially warm, meaning Jacobi hadn't been gone very long. Still, she rubbed her eyes and crawled out of the hideaway to look for where the mandolorian went, only to stumble in with Silas and Jacobi talking about plans. Yawning, she shuffled over tiredly to the two, blue gaze partially closed as she adjusted to the lighting. "What are you guys planning so early?" She asked tiredly.
“Morning, time to get up. We’ve got training to do.”

Re: Echoes of Eternity
***Edge of Sector K-3 ***
“It’s time. In less than a standard hour Nil will make the final jump into the sector and with the Infiltrator’s stealth capabilities we will snag the nearest com satellite. With Nil here it should be simple enough to piggyback on their communications long enough to locate the target.” Speaking broadly aided Silas his usual stone cold demeanor seemed to waiver if he tarried on the thought of Idaan for too long. With the overall objective set Silas departed the pair’s company to make a final ready check of his equipment.
Just a glance over to the horrendous treatment of his property by Jacobi as he walked back to the loading area was almost enough to cause the Echani to break the uneasy truce between them. However, with the goal so close at hand the priest was forced to swallow his pride and simply maintain a level of decorum. The hour passed swiftly and the party rejoined behind Nil awaiting the void as the brilliance of hyperspace faded from sight. Swiftly engaging the stealth field generator Nil scanned for the nearest com satellite as planned. Tense minutes passed as the crew could only hope their initial arrival had gone unnoticed.
“I have successfully located the nearest satellite, at top cloaked speed we should be within range in half of a standard hour.” Silas scoffed in frustration. “Of course, even more waiting. I hate not knowing if we have been detected.” Nil swiftly denounced his fears, “Highly unlikely as we are not on any standard route trajectory. If we reach the com-sat undeterred it is a safe conjecture that we will not be found short of far less clandestine maneuvers.” The droid’s assessment did little to ease Silas’s anxiety. For the next half-hour the crew would be unaware as to the full success of their entry.

Despite the high security of Tormentous’s Citadel it seemed the allure of power was simply too great. Set in an unassuming chamber just to the east of the Throne of Skulls lay the two greatest relics forged by Sith in the current era. Two newly minted Sith Warriors, graduates of the academy, stalked the otherwise empty halls of the Dark Lord’s keep. These dauntless adepts had poured the entirety of their training into maximizing stealth and subterfuge. With these gifts the pair had managed to breach the great halls and were moments away from their prize. As threats of death were so common it was little bulwark to absolute power.
The might of Tormentous and the High Priest stowed away for unknown reasons. What was rumored was the departure of the mighty pair and the opportunity of a lifetime. Indeed it was as a Human, Serak Ordine, and Twi’lek, Go’rak Uon, duo managed to locate the artifacts. Serak had always coveted the Jidai Maras while Go’rak had been in the academy the day the Sovereign trained the Hunter and had been in awe of the priest ever since. The unlikely pair had succeeded in the greatest gamble of their lives and claimed the mighty artifacts for themselves. However, the blood craft and runes used in the forging of the relics were unknown to the warriors.
Though the artifacts did indeed grant tremendous spiritual might, they might have well been cursed in this acquisition. Go’rak swiftly discovered that once donned he could not remove the Sovereign’s armor. Likewise the skin on Serak’s sword arm rapidly darkened as the blade began to glow red. For all the limitless potential the relics could grant in power, knowledge was not gifted in kind. Without the insight as to ‘how’ to wield the armor and sword the very flesh of the pair began to decay as their lives drained into the artifacts. Panicked cries soon alerted the guards within Tormentous’s Citadel, all but stunned that anyone would be fool enough to trespass. Yet, by the time the guards arrived within the small antechamber nothing was left of the pair that had managed such a feat. All that remained of Serak and Go’rak was ash as the air smelt of burnt flesh.

Re: Echoes of Eternity
---IMPERIAL SPACE - K-3
The Sith Infiltrator slowed in its pace and came to a paced drift mere meters from the satellite that cruised lazily through its prescribed route. Nil - being the industrious droid that it was - accessed the top airlock of the Infiltrator and once attached to a cable the assassin unit fell out into the cold embrace of zero-g. Jacobi watched from the opposite side of the airlock on a small terminal that had no picture but displayed raw data and he kept the developing scene appraised to the rest of his haphazard crew. “Alright Nil, we’re not looking for extras - just find our mark and get back here.”
It did not take Nil long - the task being approaching the satellite, breaching the outer casing, hacking into the terminal without detection - which in itself was a complicated task as there was no true indication if they had been caught in the act or not aside form a blatant alarm of which this system did not likely have - and then to determine the whereabouts of a highly prestigious figure of whom likely was going by an alias.
This aside, the droid accomplished its goals with a relative swiftness. Through a process of elimination it cut the variable names on the list down until its droid processor had a 98.5% probability that an alias of Iridescent was being utilized for Idaan Null and that Iridescent was currently en route to a Golan class Battle Station orbiting Bastion wherein she was only arriving there for a check-in before taking to the planet proper. Essentially it was a layover that would be their window to snatch the royal and avoid going to the surface altogether which would be extremely ideal and far less complicated.
Nil was returning and already the airlock was cycling. Jacobi turned to both Silas and Kita with a crooked grin, “Apparently she’s going to be on Station IL-593 tomorrow at 0600 hours.” He eyed his partners and gave them a look, “And we’re going to be there to greet them.”
Moving passed the pair he made to the cargo hold. “We’re going to have to make an effort not to kill. This is a ceasefire and the less complicated we make this the better - bodies make things complicated.”

She stood watching as the droid pulled in the satellite. For future reference, Kita kept this tactic in mind should she ever need to do it one day. A lot of the time, this was how she learned. Observing. "Alright Nil, we’re not looking for extras - just find our mark and get back here.”
Kita didn't want to say anything, but she was itching to get going on the mission. It was always exciting to her for some reason to get involved in something that was partially risky. A potential adrenaline rush? She didn't know.
“Apparently she’s going to be on Station IL-593 tomorrow at 0600 hours. And we’re going to be there to greet them.”
"So early..."
Stretching as she followed behind Jacobi, she thought about what she would wear and possibly conceal if they were to be caught.
“We’re going to have to make an effort not to kill. This is a ceasefire and the less complicated we make this the better - bodies make things complicated.”
Kita looked at Silas questionably before glancing back at the mandolorian with a smirk. "I don't make any promises." She replied in a partial teasing tone. "If I'm attacked, I'm fighting back. Simple as that. But as for making a effort not to kill otherwise? I really have no issue. That ain't hard for me to do. I think that's just you guys."

Re: Echoes of Eternity
Silas smirked at the comment but offered a swift rebuttal, “Our presence here would reflect poorly on the accord thy by all rights shouldn’t exists. Though I’m sure your lord may feel otherwise should it be you that is the cause of it being breached.” With that the priest departed for the wreckage of his cargo hold. Several long minutes passed before Silas returned to the group with three stealth field generators. “I haven’t had much need of these since my days as an imperial asset. However, outside of the station camera’s being outfitted with FLIR security systems, these should ease our passage. Do note, if you lack experience with such equipment, swift movement and weapon discharge will disrupt the cloaking effect and leave the capacity to refresh such on a temporary cooldown.”
Once he finished with his explanation Silas distributed the generators before making for the back of the ship. A final few hours was all that separated the trio from their target. Silent meditation was the only remaining solace for the priest as her presence was denied him through the absence of the Force within him. Instead, the former battlemaster called forth the unparalleled focus derived from his Echani heritage. His senses restricted to the hull of the Infiltrator it was not a replacement for the famed senses the Sovereign held. Yet in this state, as the hue of Silas’s eyes faded into a pearlescent dim gleam, the priest could look forward in time. This foresight was acclaimed by tacticians and military strategist but to Silas such insight was marred. The free will of those beyond his eyes betrayed true precognition.
Future events would always be altered and shifted by the time such glimpses could be made manifest. Of course this extended to the Force, as the Sovereign had seen what visions it held and how they always played out to the accursed balance rather than to any possible advantage. Regardless of all the former it was almost to a masochistic bent that Silas began to derive eventuality after eventuality in succession, hanging on to each of the most unfavorable turn of future events. It was perhaps in hopes of avoidance, though in practice it felt more like indulging in the torturous fatality of potential failure. The waning hours of the night would fade in this manner. Soon dawn arrived and the trio would be poised to claim their prize.
