For a moment's reprieve she was alone, free to wander the construction site and decide her next plan of action. There were really only two choices, for she was very certain that the Jedi wouldn't stop simply because the local authorities wanted to question him. The look on his face had been priceless nonetheless! Her first choice was obvious. She would have to fight the man and leave him hurting, just enough to slow him down or immobilize him completely, or hide and hope that she could accomplish her mission before dawn with the risk of a meddling Jedi. The latter was far too laden with liability. She would simply have to take on the padawan and overcome him.

Steel beams hung on cables overhead, groaning with every push and pull of the breeze, power tools that were too large to put away each night were strewn about, when something useful caught her eye. An industrial blow torch. Kressara swiped the equipment and set herself to work. Her time was limited, but with enough of a pep in her step she might be able to lay some traps for the Jedi. She took the lift to the fourth floor of the unfinished highrise and climbed atop a crate with her blowtorch before weakening one of the elevator's cables enough to allow it to function as is, but the weight of a passenger should cause the cable to snap once it rolled through the pulley. He'd likely survive! Kressara might even be so inclined to lend him a hand if he broke a leg or two. She hopped down from the box and sent the lift back down to ground floor, then emptied out the blow torche's fuel tank over a narrow catwalk leading to a completed section of flooring where the walls were not but framework overlooking the construction site's entrance. Kressara stepped out onto a jutting scaffold when the presence of her pursuer rubbed against her spine like sandpaper.

From her height she could see above the tall fences that surrounded the yard, which allowed her to spot Adar as he turned a corner on her trail. She wondered if he might see her on his own. A devious smirk formed a dimple beneath her right cheekbone. This might just be the highlight of her night, as there was a certain unmistakable rush that came with fleeing the Jedi, like a game of chase, hide and seek, and hot n' cold all in one.

"Jedi!" A musical call echoed against the cold urban terrain from the apprentice.

She was perched within the skeletal frame of the skyscraper with one boot planted against the handrail she was leaning over, trench and freely flowing locks dragging to her left in the lofty draft.

"You won't give up will you?! I'm a very busy woman and I can't have you following me around the whole night...unless you want to try your hand at my line of work!"

Adar looked up after hearing the Sith girl call out to him. She was calling out to him, challenging him and waiting for him to come to her. She was done running, and chose a good place to make a stand. Well, in reality it was terrifying and dangerous. An unfinished construction site, with questionable stability for its floors and a lot of dangerous equipment. Kressara surely knew what she was doing. The question was, how much time she had to prepare. But Adar could take this slowly. She could still deside to run, or worse the police forces would actually find him. With determination in his eyes, he entered the construction site.

The first thing he noticed was the various tools and steel rods the workers had left there overnight. Tons of steel would be needed to build these huge skyscrapers that dotted this planet. Impressive, but he continued on. As he passed what would one day be the entrance of the building, Adar saw a working elevator. He would not normally consider taking it, especially in a construction site, but he could not spot any stairs going up or down. He had no way of detecting the trap Kressara had set up for him in order to lose before the fight even begun. He reached the top, and then he felt a strange tingle, almost like a voice, warning him of impending doom.(Danger Sense). The young man was hit with a rush of adrenaline before anything even happened.

He heard a snap, and gravity took hold of the lift. He had to think quickly. Third floor. The young Jedi took a deep breath, and prepared to leap out. He had only one shot at this. He asked the Force to aid him now, in what frankly was his most desperate moment of his life, with broken bones, or even death awaiting him should he fail. Second floor. He figured out the timing now. Hopefully. A single thought of doubt popped in his mind, but he pushed it aside as he... Jumped. First floor. Elevator hits the bottom, the crash making a loud noise. Swallow breaths came from Adar. "You are playing dirty miss." he said, and looked for a way to get up to her.

That way proved to be a few steel frames going all the way up to where the woman was. When he finally got to her level, he started ironing out his cloak. Always have to look fashionable when meeting a lady, especially the murderous ones.

"I must say, you are quite clever Kressara, and equally crazy. Now, let's stop you here before you actually run off somewhere else and harm someone."

Adar got his vibroblade out. He would not allow her to play anymore tricks on him, nor let her gain the upper hand first. He had given her plenty of opportunities. Now, it was time to fight and subdue her if possible. But he was still in the dark about her plans. While he was occupied here, who knows what the others were doing, or were about to do. He hoped that if he beat her, he could stop her from succeeding in her mission. But for now, he focused solely on her, and the Force.

Steel fibers creaked and snapped as they bent over the pulley and dropped the lift with the jedi aboard it. Kressara held her breath as she watched him react to the danger and leap at the last possible moment, saving him a potentially nasty spill. What was this? Something stirred in her chest the moment he landed safely. Gladness? It would seem so. Would be a shame to wrap things up so quickly without giving the padawan a proper crash course in handling less predictable enemies. What if he found himself fighting a far less friendly sith with her level of mad resourcefulness? He could end up just another number in a murderous kill count. Lucky for him, Kressara was only ever bloodthirsty once in a blue moon.

"Is there any other way to fight, sir?!" Her laughter traveled down into the lower levels of the tower.

Wait...does Eufornis Major have regular blue moons? It was overcast that night and Kressara couldnt recall if it was a yellowish hue or possibly a desirable cobalt shade- HOLY CRUD! That man could climb! She hadn't expected him to scale the building so quickly and turned to face him straight out of a daydream. The surprise on her face was replaced with a coy batting of eyelashes and a devilish grin.

"Stop me? Stop ME? Oh, please do! Do you know how lovely life would be if someone did? Probably not much, cause the entire universe is gone down the toilet, but I sure would be appreciative!" She snatched her vibroblade from its sheath and ignited the sword, smoke hissing off of it as the wind pushed her duster into the superheated edge. There was something maniacally pleading about the way she ranted to him, her eyes alight with a hidden message like signals spelling out S.O.S. Were they merely drug addled ramblings, or was Kressara actually telling him something regarding her outlook. Sometimes even she didn't know the difference.

Whatever it was, she swallowed it back and side stepped into the would be interior of the incomplete fourth floor, then announced, "Ah, but really I must do you a favor, Adar! You did well escaping the elevator, I'll give you that, but you must stay on your toes! The first lesson I will pass on to you, and feel free to ignore it because I know how touchy the jedi can be about learning from the sith…"

She twisted and crouched before leaping once again, this time over the oil slicked catwalk, across the railings without touching the ground, to the other side where the elevator would have taken him, then proceeded to lecture with a twirl of her sword. "Never EVER assume that a sith only has one nasty plot!"

The tip of the blade tapped against the walkway and lit the drenched metal with a flash of roaring flames which dripped fiery droplets onto the exposed plywood covered level beneath. A cheeky snicker drifted over the gust of heated air.

"We're always plotting! So stay sharp, jedi! I'll meet you up there!" She lifted the still fire licked point of the blade upwards and took off yet again! Kressara darted across corrugated metal and pounced up onto a hanging platform loaded with cans of sealant, then upwards again onto the fifth floor. She didn't stop there. Higher and higher Kressara climbed until her chosen battlefield was as chaotic as her mind with steel beams hanging on cables and fewer places to place one's feet on a non-moving surface. If he had the guts to follow her all the way up into her steely roost, then all the more respect she'd have for the man.

Adar could feel that Kressara was hurting. Her response was full of emotions, from anger, to sadness, to grief... but even with all of that, she did not show any signs of stopping. If nothing else, she became stronger as her connection to the dark side was strengthened. Adar would perhaps need to reconsider how he approached and viewed the Sith later, but right now the Sith girl had drawn her weapon, igniting it and... stepping back? Why would she do that? Another scheme? As it turned out, yes. She proudly told him "Never EVER assume that a Sith only has one nasty plot!". It was indeed a valuable lesson, albeit ironic coming from the enemy, and he would remember it like he remembered those lovely candle lit nights back home when the power was out. Candles, fire, flames,a spark...

The second the sparks hit the fuel that had being drenching the floor they ignited, and the flames spread in an instant. His cloak caught on fire at the bottom, where it touched the floor, and he instinctively jumped off to not die in a fiery blaze. As he was falling, he could not help but feel annoyed for all the trouble Kressara was putting him through. They were always so close to battle, yet she slipped away. However, as long as she was close he would pursue her. Keeping her close to him and away from where she was going was the best thing to do.

He landed in a platform below, still on fire. The young padawan did his best to put the flames out, but he wasn't fast enough. He hated to do this to his lovely cloak, but it was the only way to get out of his current situation. He cut it form the waist down, letting the it burn gently in the wind. A heavy sigh escaped his lips. I'm going to have to see a tailor on my way back to the Jedi temple. Before going back up and giving chase to the Sith woman, he dropped his cloack, folded it and put it in his back. The little droid inside made a small sound of protest, but Adar closed the backpack before it could fully manifest its discomfort. "Sorry Ghost, but I can't have her destroy it completely. Who knows what else she might have up her sleeve.", he whispered.

Without his cloak, his Antarian Ranger Armor was fully visible. Nothing too fancy. After all it was a common issue armor, unlike his custom made cloak. He had never before been seen with his armor, and he hoped that it would absorb a few hits from the Sith, should she find an opening to his stance.

He made his way back up. Slowly this time. He would not get caught by her next trap, assuming Kressara still had one. Upon reaching what seemed to be the top, he stopped to catch his breath. Since he did not immediately spot her, he waited for his opponent to make a move. Seeing the messy environment they were in, caution was neccessary.

"I'm going to have to see a tailor on my way back to the Jedi temple." His frustration bounced off the supports in the upper floors and Kressara chewed her bottom lip to hold back laughter, though the amusement was thick in her voice when she answered back down to him.

"Shall I recommend you to someone? I know a sweet little seamstress from Bespin!" Her eyes drifted down to her once was white coat and the holes from where it charred against her own weapon. What a shame. That was a rather expensive jacket. Still sounding as if she might giggle at any moment, Kress called, "Actually, we could both head there! This coat really isn't made for this sort of thing! Should I have you chase me by ship to Cloud City next?"

Of course the woman was joking, though if Adar sheathed his own blade and agreed then she might have been privy to acting out her jest.

Silence answered her. He was on the move again, likely climbing even as she stood leaning to look for him. Better move too. She hopped across a frighteningly long drop-off between two support beams like skipping over a shallow puddle, then climbed a ways until she was able to tread the lattice work of structural beams on the next level. By the time Adar reached the floor below her, Kressara was stealthily perched and waiting for him to make his move...but he didn't. He was waiting for her this time. That curved her glitter stained lips into an almost proud smile. The man was learning! Good. Maybe with the patience he'd learn when dealing with her, he'd last a little longer against some of her fellow evil doers.

"Good! Good! You've already caught on! Don't worry, I won't tell your friends that you listened to a Sith." She rose from her knelt stance and revealed her location. "Chaotic enemies thrive on high speed decision making opportunities. Now that you're just standing there, I'm forced to think about how I want to approach you. That can lead a flighty opponent to make mistakes. A storm can do a great many things, but how often do you see one topple a mountain?" She bound across the beams with dainty footwork like a bird hopping from branch to branch until she wasn't all that far from Adar, though still a good 20 feet or so above him. "For an enemy like me, stillness, level headedness, and utilizing my unpolished style by capitalizing on my mistakes is key to obtaining victory. Understand? Get inside the head of your opponent. If you can only think like yourself, then you can only defeat yourself."

Call her crazy, because that is precisely what Kressara was ESPECIALLY on her ride of choice, but she always hoped the Jedi that faced her would end up deadlier for it. The more competent Jedi roamed the galaxy, the more Sith they would cull out. The less Sith, the easier her goals would become. That shiny, bright eyed philosophy of loyalty for her own people was no longer alive within the girl. Make no mistake, Kressara Thryn HATED the sith. She hated quite a lot of people, actually. Really she even hated herself, but she couldn't wage war against her own mistakes AND take on the whole universe. So instead she had to make sure that Jedi like Adar learned to be the best at their job so they in turn would slay her comrades while she "helplessly" fails to save them, until fewer and fewer sith are left. They would do as Sith do and fight for dominance amongst themselves while Kressara, the seemingly least ambitious of them all, would use all of her gained influence outside of the Sith to come into political power and wipe out those who remained.

But that was surely years from then! For now, she was merely an apprentice at the start of her journey, much like her cloakless friend below.

Kressara gaged the distance between herself and the narrow passage some twenty feet down, then extended one foot forward. Gravity yanked at her body and the city lights blurred into shining lines across her vision before metal slapped against the soles of her boots. Kressara landed a few feet in front of the padawan before straightening her legs again. She leered at Adar with a predatory gleam behind wildly whipping white gold strands and hummed, "But learn to think like many people, and you are a threat to even the strongest foes."

The young woman rolled a shoulder to slip off her coat on one side, then the other until it dangled freely in her left hand. Black gloved knuckles loosened and freed the billowing garment which was then carried off by the gusts. At higher altitudes, extra fabric was a threat to one's own safety. It could very well throw her off balance. Kressara brandished her vibroblade with a reversed grip and dared the Jedi to strike.

Kressara kept speaking. Adar wondered for a moment if she would ever stop rambling. For she was neither taunting him, nor provoking him. She was confusing him, and perhaps even herself. She was all over the place, her words one big distraction, with some genuine messages hidden amongst the rabble. From the moment they met he had tried to get into her head, understand her. But she made no sense, yet she made all the sense at the same time. Her lecturing him on how to defeat her made little strategic sense, unless she wanted to face a strong opponent. But should that have been the case, it would open a lot more questions. And he had no time now to think them out.

The Jedi padawan could hear his Sith opponent walk around on top of him, getting closer. Adar was breathing slowly, ready for the confrontation to come. He saw her drop in front of him, and he stood perfectly still. She took off her coat, and help her blade in reverse. An odd tactic. Definitely not a lightsaber form he could recognize. That did not make it any less dangerous, but it made him wonder if she had received any training at all in duel fighting. She did not strike him, and he was done waiting. If she wanted to back down or surrender, she would have by now. It was time to fight, here on top of this construction site. The night was quiet, the wind chilling. A scene straight out of an action movie. He would make the first move.

For a moment he considered leading with a kick, but he noticed that her footing was quite good. Kressara may not even budge if he attempted a kick, and he would be exposed. The fact that she did not hold her vibroblade "the right way" meant she was looking to parry his attack and then counter hit. Or simply dodge his attack and then counter. Whatever the case, she wanted him to attack. And attack he would.

Holding the blade with two hands and in Shii-Cho lightsaber form, Adar striked not at her, but at her blade. Were it to connect, he would hold her blade in place, thus enabling him to kick her at her stomach. This should startle her enough for him to hit her with a proper strike. His overall strategy for this fight was to subdue her, not kill her. Only in the event that things went really ugly would he go for lethal strikes. And hopefully if he defeated her, she would put that talkative mouth of hers to good use, telling him of her plans in this world. Or at least her plans for tonight.

Not another word was shared between them. Adar took a moment to assess the situation, and then he made his move. A downward strike, two handed. Kressara's glitterstim glassed eyes would not be tempted to focus on the movement of his sword, but instead they remained center on his chest, using her peripheral vision to give her a greater sight advantage than the regular, untrained miscreant. Kressara was focused on Adar's upper body, watching his shoulders rise into a plummeting arc. She waited until the last possible second to lift her arm in response, allowing the full of her blade to clash against his. She blocked, but felt the metal of his weapon scrape against the razor sharp nicks on her own, drawing her gaze south for only a moment. The Jedi was shifting weight onto one foot in preparation for a kick. Risky move with such a drop should a one footed warrior lose his balance.

Adar held her blade firmly with his own, his advantage of strength daring to push the heated length of her own sword against her arm due to that reversed grip. His opponent grit her teeth and hissed loudly, waiting. When the Jedi was fully committed to the kick, Kressara dropped into a crouched position with her blade still held upwards in defense and her free hand open wide by her side. When his foot shot up the girl twisted in place and hooked her arm around his calf in an attempt to catch it. If she could, she'd ensnare the leg, press it firmly against her torso, and stand quickly to force the Jedi off of his feet. If she successfully caught him and threw the man off balance, thus freeing her blade, Kressara would drop his calf and follow up with a downward slice aimed directly for the lower legs. Such a cut may sever hamstrings, immobilizing the Jedi before the fight truly began.

The girl was reading him, eyes trained on specific points of his body as they sparred and a hand always kept open to grapple any misplaced limbs. She fought less like a Sith or a Jedi, as she didn't pertain to a form like Adar, but instead more like a professional killer. The tactics she used, her stances, attention on hand to hand combat, were typical of a well established assassin. Wherever she learned sword play, it wasn't from the Sith. She focused less on the wielding of her weapon and more on the way she utilized her own body.

Adar had successfully managed to lock her blade, and was now committed to his kick. He had expected Kressara to dodge back, disengage and re-engage, or perhaps take the hit and then counter him. What he had not expected was for her to duck down and grab his leg. She was just as mobile in combat as she was out of it, maybe even more. He should have expected that. His situation had turned from a possible advantage to a possibility of immediate defeat. She could easily make him lose his balance here, and that would leave him open for an attack. He had underestimated her. A grave mistake indeed. He was physically stronger, but she was far more agile, her fighting style quick and sharp like shadows moving in the night. He would have to be ever vigilant from now on.

The young Jedi tried to move his leg, but her grip was good. She looked like she was going to stand back up and then knock him down off his feet. He could not allow that to happen. Since he could not free his foot, he would need to remove her hand. This was another risky move on his part, but if it worked he could return to a stable footing, disengage and look to re-engage. He stopped pressing his vibroblade on hers, and instead swung his blade and looked to strike below his gripped leg, threatening to cut her arm off, or worse if she got back up. That meant that she was free to strike him as well, but at most he could reach for his torso or upper leg, both protected by his armor. If all goes well, she would release his leg, he would dodge or block her hit, go back a few steps, get his battle stance back into balance, and continue on from there.

There was one thing he knew for certain. If he could predict her movements, she would not be able to get the upper hand on him. That is why from this moment on, he watched her moves carefully.

Kressara geared up to stand when his next movement put a wrench in her plan. Her opponent wasn't about to literally go down without a fight, and rather than topple over and potentially slip off the beam, he stabled himself as much as possible with a snared leg and retaliated! His blade cut through the air deadly quick, giving the young sith very little time to react. Contented to save her own arm rather than risk it for a hold on his leg (because no fight is worth an arm and a leg), she released her grip on the appendage and plunged her blade between herself and his attack. The snap hiss of super heated metals clashing tossed sparks in the air which died off on contact with the wind. Kressara pushed back hard, their weapons crossed in a T formation, and tossed off his sword arm's weight.

She wouldn't have much time to block again without risking a fall, so the sith apprentice opted for a change in positioning. In the opportunity of movement her parry afforded her, her spring loaded legs pushed themselves to their limits with a leap to safety from their beam, to the support running parallel to their right. Her landing was rough compared to the others, but with a slight wobble Kress managed to stand once again at full balance.

"Trying to disarm me?" A crooked smile masked the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

"No, wanted my leg back. Thanks." his smile was a bit mischievous for a Jedi, but he felt proud that his plan worked and he didn't lose his leg.

They were now neutral in terms of battle. Adar was feeling a little sweat run down his back. His stamina was good, but she would definitely outlast him. He tried to feign an attack, but she did not fall for it. He was running out of ideas. Her skill with the blade was equal to hers, perhaps a bit better, as she could move a lot faster. There was nothing of use here, except some steel rods and beams lying around. He still had his blaster, but he did not trust himself with his shot at the moment. Kressara could easily close the distance on him, and if he was not accurate he could end up fatally injuring her. The only thing that remained was to clash with her, until she made an opening. If she made an opening.

Another strategy he thought was one of distraction. Have Ghost sneak out and distract her. Then, break combat and try attacking from a different angle. But they were close enough that she could easily give chase, or spot his flying droid. Perhaps just try to shoot her with his blaster after all? No, the risks were still too many. Unless... unless he did something else with his blaster. Use it as the distraction.

He approached her slowly, blade held with both hands. He was looking at her eyes. They were really pretty, if one ignored the glitterstim, and were studying him intently. He then pulled out his blaster, as if to shoot her, holding his blade with his left arm. If she stood there, he would aim for her legs and shoot. If she moved, he would through the blaster at her with all his might, then grip his blade firmly and strike at her. If all went well, he would be able to strike her, and get her to drop her weapon. If not, he hoped that he would not be exposed enough to not block a potential retaliatory strike.
