Jedi or something else (Neive)
Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
When she got towards where the person had pointed her to. She saw in the crowd a mask she recognized, however the physical aspect of the one wearing it wasn't. Kota had encountered Jacobi at a very close range, she would recognize the man with the mask. This person was not him, so she moved closer to get to him. She wanted to see who it was that pretended to be Jacobi.
After getting as close as she dared, she watched, she soon realized of all the people she encountered she didn't know who this was. Kota was good at remembering who she encountered of note, but this was definitely not one. So she slowly walked closer. "Excuse me who are you? Please don't say Jacobi, because I know him and your not him." She asked. Kota was curious as to why this man felt the need to hide behind Jacob's name and mask.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Neive stopped as she spoke, looking at the guards. He didn't want a scene, as to provoke the two... but he knew he had been caught. He looked back to the woman, keeping calm.
"I'm only a reporter. My apologies for the identity mix-up, but as I've been reporting on the actions of the sith, one of them seemed to... vanish. However, to honor his name, I thought I'd take the name that he left behind."
Neive crossed his hands in front of him, noticing the woman. It was the one from the star destroyer, all that time ago. The memories were hazed, but he remembered... she's strong in the force. He didn't want to cross her.
"If I may return your question, who might you be?"

"I'm Lady Kota, allow me to see your face and know your name since you are clearly not Jacobi." She said. She was being kind, she wanted to know who this was. He wasn't in trouble as far as she was concerned and even if he was certainly she might be able to help. She didn't know quite how he got Tormentous's mask, though she'd be honest she'd not seen him since she escaped from his hands.
"Please allow me to handle this." She said to the guards. She wanted to make sure that he had nothing to fear. It might make it easier to find out what was going on and why he felt the need to hide behind a mask. "Shall we sit and talk?" She asked. It was a simple question.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Neive looked to the guards as they took their leave, before hesitantly reaching for the mask. With what had happened just moments earlier, if the man was discovered before Neive could make an exit, he may be trapped here. However, running when faced with someone who didn't draw their weapon... it was a cowardous he had not planned on ever showing.
He slowly raised the mask up and off, holding it in one hand.
"My name is Neive Undant... Although I've not much time to talk, I will oblige for a moment."
Neive looked back at the door for a second, the two guards still standing at the door, oblivious for the moment.
"What is it you would like to discuss?"

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
She saw his face, it was as Brutus described, she had been looking for this supposed Jedi. However she wouldn't pass on that she knew things just yet. "So why the mask of a sith master if you don't mind me asking?" She said as she took a near seat. She kept her eyes on him, she usually could read someone who might be lying to her. Kota had been around to often in this Galaxy not to notice suble things. "You don't need to worry about them, they won't hurt you not with me here." She said.
She was trying to get him to ease up a little, his body seemed tense. It was almost as if getting caught wasn't apart of his plan or that he was trying to get to someone or something. By watching him, she hoped to get a gauge of him, if he was indeed a rogue Jedi she hoped to stop him from completely going Sith. However she knew that there was a chance that he would. If that happened she would have to deal with him, she simply couldn't risk another Sith in the Galaxy.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Neive took a seat across from the woman, thinking. He never thought he'd have a civilized conversation with any imperial, especially an inquisitor... But things tend to happen for reasons that he couldn't explain at the moment, he thought.
"The helmet... Is a reminder. I used to serve under the master, a long time ago... But I realized that the sith were nothing but psychotic mongols, bent on nothing but death and power."
Neive sighed, setting the helmet on the table.
"But in my experience, it takes both sides of the force to attain peace in these times. The dark and the light, always fighting. Ive wondered what the result could be, using the dark side for the purpose of good... An interesting contradiction."
Neive looked at the woman who asked his attention.
"But I still resent the Sith, particularly the man I masquerade as. It's less of an honor and more of a mockery, in my mind. The symbol of so much pure evil, donned by someone doing good in the galaxy."
Neive hesitated.
"Although, the definition of good tends to vary, depending on point of view."
Neive thought for a moment, before looking at the scenery around them.
"My apologies for rambling. Did you have anything in particular you wished to speak of?" Neive looked back to the woman, wondering what she had to say.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Kota studied him. "You speak of walking a line rather than that of a Jedi or Sith. It's a very dangerous and harder line to walk, trust me on this as a Shadow Master." She said. There was a pause so she could get a glass of water and take a sip. "Walking around with such a mask makes you a target, especially if someone was hunting him down. I am not hunting him at this moment, but I know him well." She said.
She noticed his hesitation, but then asked her what she wanted. "I heard rumors of a rogue Jedi slashing at the grand Inquisitor's apprentice. I am looking into rumors, as I'm not a woman who dismisses such rumors. I'm here to find the truth, if the Jedi is truly rogue or not. I just don't want the Jedi to get in trouble that's all." She said.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Neive thought about her words, still looking out at the scenery of the planet.
"I agree that such a line is hard to walk... But that's one reason I chose the path I did. Because it's the path least taken."
A target, he thought...
"The same can be said for myself."
Neive thought for a moment, about everything around him and his past.
"The sith have branded me a traitor to their agenda, perusing me relentlessly. Though, not much changed from my days in their ranks."
Neive shook his head.
"And my future actions may bring more and more people after me, depending on the group."
Neive looked back to the woman.
"Tell me. This assailant who attacked the student you speak of, was there any motive? Anything he said, perhaps?"
Although Neive knew what she spoke of, he still wanted to know how much she knew of the encounter. If she had seen it unfold, and see how Neive had seemed to act in self defense, or if she took word from the student himself.
"Because if you ask if it was me who attacked the boy, the answer is no. I did not attack an unarmed, unprovoked man."
Neive put emphasis on the 2 adjectives, making sure they stood out within his speaking.
"But if you ask me if I was the one who defended myself on reflex, then yes."
Neive was mostly relaxed before he saw the two guards knock on the door to the balcony. Although he tensed slightly, he remained calm.
"I may have been paranoid in the encounter, but I was peaceful towards the student, and as he held his weapon, I only saw it move towards me. If he meant no harm, truly, then I sincerely apologize. But he was nervous, and when I saw the weapon swing, I was sure he was moving to strike."
The guards opened the door, and one of the troopers closer to the pair got on his headset before him and one other walked towards Neive, weapons drawn.
This is just why Neive wanted to leave so soon...
The dead body of a retired admiral lay sprawled on the balcony floor.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
She heard his story, from what she could tell of his body language he wasn't lying. However she couldn't risk dropping her force mask to find out, he would no doubt run and probably tell everyone what he knew. Kota simply couldn't risk that. "I believe you, I am just checking it out. I am not one to dismiss rumors, especially when it involves the Empire or their new lap dog." She said.
When the guards approached them, she saw the body, she then eyed him. "So want to explain him?" She asked. Kota's hands didn't move, the only weapon she could pull if she needed to fight would be her vibro blade. These were just simple guards there didn't seem to be anything special to them, so just her blade should be fine. However she wanted him to explain the dead body that she knew was why the guards were heading this way for him.

Re: Jedi or something else (Neive)
Neive sighed, looking down and closing his eyes.
"He was the one behind the third death star."
Neive was hesitant to explain further, but after a moment he complied.
"When Dathomir was destroyed at his hand, I lost everything. The whole reason I turned to the Sith, and the reason I studied the dark side... Was to kill those responsible for the death of my people. He was... The last one behind the plot. Now that he's gone, my mission is complete. In a way, I can now put everything that has to do with the sith aside. Now that my family has been avenged, I can focus on... Other things."
The two men raised their blasters, one of them speaking.
"Mister Wylcott... Can you please come with us?"
Neive looked to the woman.
"My apologies on the mess. But this was why I had to rush."
Neive stood, cracking his neck as the 2 troopers kept their weapons trained on him.
"May we continue this conversation another time?"
Neive picked up the iron mask, one hand resting near his own video blade, one of the 2 strapped to him.
