MIA the grand Inquisitor (closed, Doren)

Post by Lady Kota » Tue Apr 10, 2018 11:27 pm

The medical bay was busy, Brutus had been brought in. He was clutching in his hands the grand Inquisitor's helm. Despite the redness of the helm, blood was visible, still dripping from it. They rushed to try and remove the helm from Brutus's hand, but he wouldn't let it go. He had regained conciousness on the way here, he still couldn't believe what happened.

"Where is the grand Inquisitor?" He asked. They tried to sedate him, but he fought, dropping the helm in the process. "WHERE IS THE GRAND INQUISITOR!" He shouted demanding. They finally were able to sedate him.

Hours later.....
"The team only returned with him." A doctor said. The doctor stood in the room with Captain Vassyl. "He should regain conciousness within the minute. Hopefully he can tell us more. He was shouting where is the grand Inquisitor when he came in. She wasn't found and one more thing... (Pauses) The blood on the helm isn't his." They said.

The longer the doctor spoke, the more Vassyl's face flattened into itself. His lips had creased open ever so lightly, and remained ajar throughout the practitioner's speech. Doren remained silent some time thereafter, to the point that the medical officer started to question if he had lost consciousness altogether. Then, without warning, color sprang back to the Line Captain's face, as he weakly answered, "Let the Inquisitor rest, and allow him to hold onto the evidence for as long as he wishes: I doubt we'll uncover any further DNA". With that, Vassyl spun about, prepared to depart for his chambers, yet stopped short and added, "See to it that Mister Caesar is fully stabilized Doctor: we shall continue our talk, and the Inquisitor's remedial care once we arrive at Prakith".

Not waiting for a response, Doren stepped into the nearest turbolift, and was left in morose silence, broken only the squeak of leather on leather as his hand balled into a fist. Arriving at the command level, the Captain quickly darted down the winding onyx hallway, until he arrived at his personal quarters. Safely within the confines of his private chambers, Doren's mania swiftly robbed him of his pragmatism, as he set about hailing the Grand Inquisitor on every device he had access to. "No", Vassyl growled in reaction to a dead comm line. "No", he reiterated more loudly, as the holoprojector in his desk produced a displeasing array of static. Frantically, the Captain flicked through countless archaic radio frequencies, "No, no, no- no no no!". In an instant, Doren's frustration boiled over.

Taking up a set of holorecorders, Vassyl let loose a ferocious, sickening howl, and hurled them into the far wall. A small electrical maelstrom erupted in the corner of the office, beckoning forth a red-hued fire born from the stack of smashed screens. In moments, the emergency sprinklers began to blanket the interior with a flame-retardant cocktail. Utterly defeated, the Captain sunk down to the floor, his back supported against the long end of the desk. He sat there for a long time, unperturbed by the chemical bath puckering against skin and gabardine. How could it have happened? Would it have happened if he, or anyone was there to help? Such questions plagued Doren's mind for what seemed like an eternity, until a stark coolness washed over him.

Pressing an exposed wrist to the side of his face, the Captain found a stream of tears had budded alongside the artificial fluid matter. Exhaling harshly, Vassyl began to ponder when last he had cried. This thought was tangential however, as his mind strayed back towards the figure of the Grand Inquisitor. Somewhere deep in the recesses of his mind, Doren had partially expected this. A fantastic, cryptic ending for one so powerful, so shrouded in mystery. It seemed natural in the dramatic sense, though that did little to comfort the emotionally compromised Jaeman. Soon, a smile leapt across Vassyl's complexion, followed thereafter by a light, tired chuckle. "What would she say if she saw you now?", the Captain mused to himself.

"You look pathetic Vassyl", Doren carried on, slowly rising back to his feet. After one prompt visit to the refresher, the Captain soon recomposed his outer decorum and inner fortitude: as much as was possible given the recent developments. Whilst cleaning the charred remains of his datascreens, a call from Vassyl's XO, [Sir, we've just entered orbit: your shuttle has been prepared and the pilots are standing by]. "Very good Mr. Torbough", Doren calmly replied, "I shall be there shortly". Vassyl gave his hastily refurbished quarters a final look-over, before letting slip one more constrained sigh. Several minutes later, the Captain eyed the sleek alabaster frame of the Blackthorn, and his mind wandered once more as he approached the loading hatch. "Fear not my friend", Doren thought to himself, "You will have your justice".

Ooc: I have permission to use this account to post for Brutus and Kota, for this story only.

Ic: a few hours later...

One of the officers came to Doren's office. "Sir we have Brutus's video report of what happened." He said then pushed play for him.

Brutus was in view with his bandages around his head. "Two days ago in the Prakith system we were doing a patrol. The grand Inquisitor said she felt something on one of the moons. I didn't question, she did call it in before we landed. When we landed I didn't feel good, but there was an abandoned mining complex. There were men in suits, grey with a symbol, you could see each of their faces, one of them was holding a lizard thing the leader I think. The grand Inquisitor drew a blade, not her sabers, she didn't seem effected by the lizard thing. I felt sick, I couldn't feel the force, it was a void, I don't know how she stood there. I tried my best, but her the men seemed to still fall to her blade. She got close enough to cut the tail on the lizard. However there were to many, one of them knocked her helmet off. I saw her hair, before I was knocked out. I don't know what happened after. When I woke up they were gone, I grabbed the Inquisitor's helm, and called for help." He said.

The officer closed the video, but left it on his desk. "We found twenty dead bodies, all are in the morgue, faces being processed as we speak. The lizard Brutus spoke of was a ysalamiri, we found the tail she cut. Confirmed that she did make the call before landing. We also found this. (Places a recorded device on his desk) Thought you should hear what ever is on there first." He said then left. Once the button was pushed on the device one could clearly here the sounds of the device being hidden. Kota wasn't stupid when it came to things. "Well we'll, the mighty grand Inquisitor. Who would have thought that she was the most powerful force user in the Galaxy." A voice said. The leader of the attack no doubt. "Tsucavt len, ber len csei ch'ah ch'acah len." Kota said calmly. "I have no idea what you just said, but our pay check will love you as a bonus." He said. The clear shot of a stun gun was heard, then the dragging sound of a body. "Get the stones quickly, empire will probably be here soon." The voice said.

Kota had spoken in cheunh, not a language many knew. When it was translated it said. "Protect her, tell her that I love her."
