Breaking from the bulk of the asteroids came first the Hammerhead Cruisers, their front born ploughs showed serious damage in certain sections thanks to the deflection of hardened rock against their plating though none of the damage was too serious to tear the cruisers from the front lines and so the unit of six Hammerheads shot out into the opening and fully into the embrace of the Sith Warships. As expected, bursting out of a dense area and essentially poorly illuminated to the surroundings, that formidable Sith Titan Patrol Frigate unleashed a pounding response that hit the lead Hammerheads hard. Undaunted, the six starships pressed onward but even once they were within optimum firing range they did not open fire, however their targeting arrays locked onto the Titan specifically.

That the Hammerhead’s held great characteristics in speed, there would be little the Sith could do in reaction before the cruisers were on top of them. Alone, a Hammerhead Cruiser would certainly be no such threat to a Titan nor even one of the two EF76 Nebulon B Frigates that were in the Sith’s flotilla; in a pack of six however the situation would be quite a different matter as each Hammerhead would bear down with eight twin barreled batteries against the heavier Sith Warship.

Unless the Sith made a drastic and unpredictable maneuver it seemed that the Jedi Coalition’s speartip of Hammerheads alone would service the day but once the rest of the formation arrived then the situation would be unavoidable capitulation on the defensive front. It would still take a moment for the Hammerheads to maneuver in such a manner that they could open fire on the Sith without fear of also having stray shots slam into Nickle One. Granted one or two stray rounds would do nothing to such an impressive colony, but it was the threat of doing said harm. By chance there could be Verpine on external decks and even a stray shot could penetrate and vent an area, the risk was simply too great. They were here to liberate the Verpine, causing casualties from their own negligence was not a good start.

From the relative protection of the Skywalker came the smaller and faster Consular Cruisers, seven of them in total. These vessels would not partake in the engagement of the enemy starships, rather they began making hard burns towards the various Verpine Colonies. Two were to focus on Korpil itself, two were moving towards Shantipole, and three were altering their course straight to Nickle One.

Within each Consular Cruiser’s bays were standing by, a Jedi Master and four Knights with a supporting element of Antarian Rangers. These strike teams would move to their designated colony target and stand by until either the hangars could be opened or they found a means of boarding the colonies. Some of the colonies hadn’t yet closed down their primary hangars and as such the strike teams would have no trouble in accessing them, but the colonies Nickle One and Korpil were under lockdown and boarding them would not come so easily which is why the Consular Cruiser tactic was depending heavily on the 99th Heavy Lift Wing, the Jedi Coalition’s Wing of transports being escorting by the Blue Star Pirates and the two Eta-2 Interceptor Squadrons.

Seemingly unharmed by the Sith Starfighters, the 99th Wing cruised through the asteroids until finally arriving at their destination which was not a Verpine Colony at all but rather one of the many Beltway Transit Systems that had been established throughout the Roche Belt to transport large quantities of material and goods from one colony to the next. These beltways were equipped with acceleration rings. Inside these rings the pilot could program his ship to commune with the Verpine supercomputer network and plot an autopilot course to one of the colonies as a destination. For this operation the Jedi would not be using the computer networks but they would be utilizing the acceleration rings to not only navigate the asteroid belt safely but also extremely swiftly.

Now within the beltway system, the transports of the Jedi Coalition would be spread throughout the Roche Belt and in moments they would arrive at their designated colonies, attempt to board, and get those hangars open to welcome the additional support provided by the Consular Strike Teams.

The eve of the Sith being repelled from Roche had arrived, now it was only a matter of time for the point of no return had just been crossed. It was unlikely that even if the Sith brought in reinforcements at this point it would be too late to stop the Jedi, Blue Star and Verpine forces from seizing Roche back from the tyranny of the Sith. Finally after years of suppression the Verpine would once again see freedom.

The Glitterstim resumed its course, as the ship entered hyperspace, continuing on its course deeper into the Roche system. It was after a few minutes the ship returned to real space. Wiretap looked and could see the Roche colony that the Sith occupied it was still a good distance away

One thing stood out to the seasoned soldier. There were a lot of dots near the colony, which from his experience could only mean one thing. Ships, which confirmed his growing suspicion. That the colony was under attack. He ordered the communications officer to send a simple message to Karza , confirming what he had told Lord Warvanus.

When the channel opened it was met with a lot of static, Wiretap looked to Navora who confirmed what the Major was suspecting “We’re being jammed

Wiretap was calm, he knew the Corvette would make no difference if they moved in to aid the colony if they did it would most likely end with the Glitterstim’s destruction and their deaths. Warvanus was already making preperations to join the fight. If they pulled back and out of the system they could make contact but all that would do was confirm what they were already planning, their comm. Silence would also confirm as much as Warvanus would assume it fell under the comm. Jam. Though they still could not make out who was exactly responsible. He needed a minute to consider their next action. They were not exactly outfitted for battle.

At this time Navora came to Wiretap’s side and whispered “There’s nothing that we can do” this statement seemed to snap Wiretap out of his reverie.

Wrong” he said, then looking at the nav office “Continue course for the colony” he said then tapping a comm. “I want every able bodied soldier and operative to meet in the shuttle bay, we got work to do” He then looked at Navora

Get the glitterstim as close to the colony as possible, we’ll take a couple of the shuttles in have them swoop in , we’ll make the drop and then get the shuttles back asap, at the very least the Roche colony will have some ground support maybe we can keep them occupied until Lord Warvanus arrives with the calvary.

Navora nodded it was a risky plan but it was doable. Of course the shuttles could be destroyed or shot down before deployment, but it was a risk Wiretap who was a seasoned special forces operative was wiling to make.

I relinquish my temporary command back to you Navora” with that Wiretap exited the bridge and made his way to prepare for the ground assault.

---ROCHE
---BATTLEZONE

The shuttles left behind Roche, shooting off into hyperspace. Once they completed their small jumps they would begin the transmissions of distress calls - unimpeded by the Coalition and their Pirate friends. Soon reinforcements would be well on their way and the outlook of the 2nd Battle of Roche would drastically change. For regardless of progress made within the hive colonies - he who held the space around Roche controlled all. The wrath of the Sith Armada was yet to come and when they arrived it would reap a tally against the foes of the Sith Empire.

---ROCHE
---NICKLE ONE

With the battle for Korpil well underway and leaning towards stalemate it was left to the other colonies including Nickle One to see the day through. Restless Verpine barred the way to the Maternallence of Nickle One and were just shy of outright blockading the way. Progress was slow and it was beginning to come into question whether the Verpine of Nickle One would remain passive for much longer. In this instance the measures began being established for the protection of Sith interests.

The living personnel of Nickle One continued to erect more and more barricades at every junction with armed security and the longer that the defenders had to set up the more weapons and more sophisticated tech they were able to bring to their defense. For example to bar the way to the command center’s doors sat a full cordon of deployable walls with elevated catwalks for the defenders to gain higher elevation to see over the crenellations properly and shoot into any attacker. Grenade hoppers were positioned behind these walls that the defenders would have access to a multitude of fragmentation explosives which were devastating in the confines of these corridors. Flechette rifles were distributed as well that the defenders could literally fill a corridor with slug rounds - while likely not as effective against the Verpine’s chitinous hides they would do heavy damage to large Verpine eye nodes and the softer portions unprotected by their armor. E-webs set up killing zones and should the enemy get too close then flamethrowers would be utilized.

These halls would not be taken without great and treacherous cost by the Verpine or any other invader that wanted to free them.

The Corellian YT 2000 ‘Talon’ was the first among the Jedi Transports to board Nickle One proper. Granted the main hangar doors had been sealed which prevented the larger forces to land, the Sith could not stop the smaller incursions made by individual transports hulling down upon the many hundreds if not thousands of external airlocks of the facility. One such airlock was the one in which Jedi Master Ben Kenobi inserted himself along with Jedi Knight Asori Spero, his long time companion, and three other Jedi Knights followed by a ten man squad of armored Antarian Rangers.

Kenobi’s yellow lightstaff glowed into the darkness of the corridor as his datapad cast a blue holographic image of Nickle One into the air for him and his squad to view. They were not far from the primary hangar and from there the control room with which they would unseal the doors and permit the bulk of the Jedi force into the colony. “Let’s move, we’ve little time.” He regarded cooly and off they made at a battle march.

The first minutes were without any contact at all as their abrupt boarding tactic was likely not detected or at least executed with surprise in mind. The longer they dallied the longer the Sith defenders had to employ security personnel into their path. Fortunately the Jedi Strike Team wasted no time and they made it to the turbolifts without incident but as soon as they arrived they were met by a strongpoint barricade manned by human personnel of the Sith as well as their security droid counterparts.

Jedi Strike Team Spear launched into action, charging out into the open and right into the face of the welcoming gun positions of the Sith. Blaster fire raked over the corridor, lightsaber blades hummed with power smacking down the worst of the fire, grenades were thrown only to be cast aside by the will of the Lightside as the Jedi employed their fabled powers to assail the defenders and within moments the Jedi were upon their foes followed closely by the Ranger Squad whose blasters were deployed with expert precision due their superior training.

The Jedi Master came to the first barricade and his beamed lance bore through the thick plates, with a concentrated effort he cast forth his hand and the Force obliterated the makeshift ramparts in the front of the corridor pelting the defenders with debris. As Jedi Knights, they fought to preserve life, taking that into consideration it was these opposing men that desired to do them harm and the Jedi took care to incapacitate those that they could while terminating those that they weren’t capable of rendering unconscious. Most, met their fates at the ends of the Jedi’s blades. Defenders of peace and justice; absolute in their sanction when the time came to do so.

Within moments the small engagement was over and the team felled the last of the defenders, those that were incapacitated were ensured of their future inaction by the Rangers, pumping stun rounds into them as they passed them on.

Utilizing all three of the lifts available, the Strike Team descended to the hangar bay level and when they came into the breach of the bay they were not welcomed by serious opposition. Truly this area was considered secure as no breaching tool outside of a capital ship’s turbolaser batteries could easily penetrate the hangar’s heavy blast door. Kenobi’s Strike Team entered the hangar and fanned out.

The Ranger Squad set up positions facing the turbolifts until the Jedi could secure the control room and shut down outside access and thereby permitting Sith reinforcements, a Ranger marksman climbed up the ladder to the elevated catwalks where he could oversee the hangar appropriately and provide accurate heavy fire from his sniper rifle, he also had a spotter.

With the Rangers setting up the inward perimeter, the three Knights made off to track down whatever occupants were inside the hangar and ensure they did not strike the Rangers from behind. This left Asori and Ben to secure the control room.

They arrived to the sight of four lightly armed men guarding the control room; in the face of Jedi, only one took a shot of which Asori deflected and the shot returned to the shooter, putting him down. Surrender followed and within moments Asori had control of the systems. She locked the turbolifts down and engaged the magnetic containment field of the hangar doors, within moments the hangar doors opened wide and permitted the entry of several other Jedi Transports and the awaiting Consular Cruisers.

The internal battle of Nickle One had begun…

---ROCHE, BATTLEZONE

The Titan Patrol Frigate and twin Nebulons tasked with keeping the colonies safe held the advantage for just a few more moments as the Jedi maneuvered their Hammerhead Cruisers around so that they could pulverize the aft sections of the Sith ships. This would not occur so easily - setting their engines into reverse the Nebulons attempted to outpace the maneuvering Jedi ships to keep them to their frontal sections to use the colony as a collateral shield. As the Nebulons did this the Titan turned about and made for the Hammerheads on the left flank of the splitting section that was attempting to surround them - the Titan and her crew cared nothing for the Verpine - obtaining target locks the heavy frigate opened fire on the nearest Hammerhead that was now presenting its rear to the Titan. While the Nebulons reverse course and brought themselves closer and closer to Nickle One, they opened fire on the incoming Hammerheads as well.

Sith fighters began now to break away from the Jedi fighters in squadron elements to represent a controlled retreat in which they’d also get closer to the colonies and also their frigate formation. As it stood the Jedi were the only ones yet to commit their fighters. Should the Pirates launch so close to the colony and frigates then they would be at the mercy of so many enemy contacts.

---ROCHE, NICKLE ONE

“Enemy troops have boarded the station!” The intercom sounded once again. The commandant was furious - he’d lost contact with his subordinate element that was moving to put pressure on Nickle One’s Maternallence to ensure Verpine drones remained out of the fighting, apparently they were still making headway but the Verpine weren’t making it easy - they were belligerent to the point of hostility but short of open rebellion. In all likelihood the element would never make it before the Verpine turned on them.

“Get every available platoon down to the hangar. I want the Jedi expelled from their before they can actually establish a beachhead!” The commandant screamed commands at his men who dithered with panic, ultimately they relayed the orders and units of droids began to converge on the hangar. If they could put the Jedi on the defensive before the offensive could even start then all they’d need to do was wait this storm out - eventually the Sith Armada would arrive to repel the invaders. Right?

---DEADSPACE, OUTER ROCHE SYSTEM

Each of the escaping shuttles had survived without incident. It was almost unbeleiveable really that the Jedi and Blue Star Pirates hadn’t detected the fleeing transports but at the end of the day they had not and without an active interdictor the shuttles had fled. Now, on the outskirts of the system one of the shuttles that had made it safely away - dropped out of hyperspace and was now drifting in the deadspace between the stars.

They began to transmit the distress of Sith Occupied Roche on a friendly channel that would reach out to the Sith Armada. Soon - the invaders would be put through their paces - soon the Sith would reap the harvest. They would be sorely tested and tried of how badly they really wanted Roche.

Roche Colony

The battle for Roche was underway, the shuttles that had been deployed with troops to help keep Nickle One secure met with resistance. Most met a firey end by stray
Fire. When it was all said and done only two of the three man shuttles made it to Nickle One. The shuttle that Wiretap was aboard had managed to dock with Nickle One,
He wasted no time in deploying along with two of his allies. They had just made it outside the airlock that admitted them inside the facility when their shuttle met a firey end.

“Looks like we are on our own” he said, he was dressed in his gear. Armed with a Blaster Rifle and a side arm both of Blastech make. They had met no resistance. He only hoped
That Warvanus was on his way and that the command center of Nickle One was still Sith controlled and that some help was here. Wiretap had been the CO of Warvanus’ Special Ops
Team code named The Dawn Patrol. He had been in worse situations than the one before him.

=Somewhere in Sith Space, Enroute to Roche=

Warvanus sat on the throne on his command ship , the Naga Class Dreadnaught he had christened “Magnetar” He had assembled as much of the Sith Forces he could, and he had
Been successful. He had the entire Fearless Battle Line, and all the subjacation wings. They were going to Roche and they were going to unleash the fury of the Sith, with the
War-Bringer spearheading the operation. Even as the battle had been going on , they were enroute via Hyperspace.

“When we get out of hyperspace” he began “ I want all fighter squadrons ready to deploy” he had told one of the officers on the bridge who in turn relayed his instructions to the rest
Of the assembled force. He also added “I want our ground troops ready I want to board and secure the station if the Jedi are involved we could run into problems” he was saying “I will
Personally lead the ground assault on Nickle One

the idea of slaughtering Jedi quickened his blood which stirred the lust for battle, that dark passenger in his mind, crying out for him
To be unleashed. The rest of his instructions were relayed to the rest of the assembled force.

Now all Warvanus could do was wait until they arrived.

“Comms are back online Captain!” Rane shouted on the bridge.

“It’s about damn time," the Captain disdainfully responded. "Signal Fleet Command and let them know we are moving to the next phase of our mission."

The Wayward had sustained damaged to its primary and secondary comm units leaving the vessel largely unable to communicate with the rest of the attacking fleet. While the vessel’s modified tractor beams had done their job, it was now time to move on to the next phase of the mission.

“Mr. DeCola, you’ve done your part. Get back to your team and be ready in ten. By that time we’ll be on station for the assault on Nickel One. We’re already late, but we’ll get our due.”

“Aye Captain.”

Without any further need for direction Rane made his way to the squad bay to prepare for what was to come.

OOC: Sorry for the prolonged absence on my part. Hope no one minds my jumping back into the fray.

((OOC: To make it easy, I've highlighted everything that was incapacitated as red and everything that was disabled as purplish. Let me know if you have questions or concerns, particularly if something doesn't add up according to your orders. A note on ion damage. The system does not compute it as raw damage, rather it goes into a separate calculation and, if enough ion damage is incurred compared to the value of hull rating, one of five things happen: 1.) Hyperdrive failure. 2.) Weapons failure. 3.) Engine failure. 4.) Shield failure. 5.) No effect. I calculated this via random roll 1-5 if a ship was over 50% ion damage. Also, ignore the typo on "Shields," since that's on the generator side, it's not me consistently making a typo.))

Pounding each other with heavy laden salvos the Hammerheads of the Jedi Coalition took the brunt of the beating given by the trio of Sith warships. In contrast the concentrated fire from the Hammerheads pulverized the shields on the twin Nebulon B Frigates and left them wide open for the next vollies to penetrate and deal some serious damage. Meanwhile the Brilliance and the Final Destination continued to exchange tenuous glances as their duel was soon to begin.

For even this the Jedi ship's efforts were not without casualty as the Hammerhead Cruiser Organa now floated desperately without power and this flurry of combat, blue lightning crossing her hull.

The fighters had a different story to tell as one of the lead Jedi Squadrons were cut off from the main formation and pounced upon by the Sith’s own. The losses were tremendous but the retaliation was by far the avenging stroke as the Jedi Interceptors and namely White Knight Squadron that took it to the Sith units and brought them down to a man. In the end the Jedi Coalition would obtain aerial superiority but at a high cost and to that the Sith Warships would soon be swarmed by Jedi fighters that would unleash warheads and strafing runs against the vital systems of those heavier warships.

With the battle for Roche in full swing, the interior was much like the exterior.

Jedi Master Ben Kenobi and his Knights with Antarian Ranger support were now making their final efforts to fully secure the main hangar of Nickle One. With this beachhead fully in their hands the Sith would be hard pressed to repel the forces of good. The liberation of Roche was now in its final moments. Once the Jedi finished securing hangars and airlocks they would demand the surrender of the entrenched Sith. If they refused then they would be summarily exhumed and worse yet it would be with the full support of the Blue Star Pirates who were experts in orbital combat and boarding operations.
