How the Dorench stole Life Day

Post by Professor Mors » Sat Dec 01, 2018 7:05 pm

Every Wookiee in the Galaxy like Life Day a lot, but the Dorench, who patrolled north of the Perlemian, did not! The Dorench hated Life Day, the whole Life Day season! Though you may ask why, no one quite knows the reason. It could be that his tunic didn't fit him just right. It could be, mayhap, that his hat squeezed his head too tight. But some think the most likely reason of all, may have been his holiday bonus was three figures too small. Whatever the reason, his hat or his pay, He stood there on his freighter, hating Life Day. Starting out through the viewport with a sour, Dorenchy frown, he could see the dim lights of a colonial asteroid town. And he was certain, every Wookiee decorating the settlement down beneath, was busy now, hanging a myyslto wreath.

And each year, when Life Day arrived, the Wookiees in the Empire partied with furious drive. They'd make a big mess and pull contraband blasters, and leave all the cleanup to their Imperial masters. Not to mention tomorrow, he knew, all the Wookiee girls and boys, would wake bright and early, and rush for their toys! And then, amidst collection taxes, oh the noise! Oh the noise! That's one thing the Dorench hated! The noise! Noise! Noise! NOISE! And the unrestricted eating! The Wookiees, young and old, would come out to feast. And they'd feast, and they'd feast, and they' feast! They would feast on Wookiee pudding, on rare Wookiee-roast beast! Which had an odor the Dorench couldn't stand in the least!

"Why for three years I've put up with this now!", the Dorench thought to himself, "I must stop this Life Day from coming, but how?". Then the Captain got an idea, an awful idea. The Dorench got a wonderful, awful idea! "I know just what to do!" the Dorench laughed in his throat, and made a bushy Wookiee getup, and a wooly red coat. Then he chuckled and clucked, "What a great Dorenchy hoax! With this coat and this suit, I'll be Saint Faerrrroakks!". Then he took to the surface in his little disguise, and scooped up every wholesome Wookiee surprise. He snuck about the hovels, with a grin most unpleasant, and in each room, he took every present! Ryyk blades! Textiles! Drums! Hoverboards! Hydrospanners! Bandoliers! Plums! Then he turned out their ice chests, he took the Wookiees' feast!

He took the Wookiee pudding, he took the roast beast! Finally, he returned to his ships, and packed them full of presents! The ribbons! The wrappings! The tags! The tinsel! The trimmings! The trappings! And the Dorench took to the skies, and pilfered the other displaced Wookiees! Leaving not a drop of nerf milk, nor a crumb of their cookies! With his troops at his side, nothing could be done! As far as the holiday season was concerned, this year, the Empire had won! "In previous cycles I was awarded with swill", the Dorench mused to himself, "But this time they'll really have to foot me the bill!". And he laughed once more having put the partygoers in their place, as the Narancia lurched forward into azure hyperspace!

The man with the force, and he helmet on his head. Always angry, always filled with dread. On this life day, while the Wookiees has their joys, the force and his lightsaber were the inquisitor’s toys. He wasn’t a monster, or so he would say, he just wanted his anger, and his pain to go away. So when his boss went and brought life day to an end, the escorts he knew he would have to defend!
“let’s move,” said Prazutis, his helm on his head,
“I don’t like having to so slowly tread.”
Seeing this convoy that his captain made, Prazutis said:
“All I want is to get paid.”

With a devilish grin and a whimsical cackle, the Captain set about finding a new settlement to tackle. He might travel east, he might head west. No matter where he went, the Wookiees would be stiffed just like the rest. Finally choosing a heading with sinister glee, the Dorench felt that it was high-time for tea. Pilfering and looting, fun though it was, grew wearisome for long intervals without the right buzz. Thus leaving the bridge to his trusted right hand, the Captain went straight to his room to inspect the night stand. Stowed in the cupboard of the unruly man, was a deluxe brew with the texture of flan. Imported Borleian, or so he'd be told, the aroma was enticing, the flavor was bold! Then kicking back in his quarters for a leisurely turn, the Jaeman started tallying up the presents he'd burn.

waiting for his superior, the inquisitor thought. where did the captain have this hate taught? Was he taught himself, his own feelings now running wild, or was this something he had held as a child?
It didn't matter now, Prazutis then said, and focused on following captain vassyl instead.
"Where do we go now?" The inquisitor spoke, pulling from below him his inquisitor cloak.
The lack of talk from the Captain was unnerving, to a certain extent, but Prazutis knew it wasn't something anger deserving.
So there he sat, The inquisitor would escort, wanting this to be over, so the galaxy he could extort.
The hyperdrive, he began priming, finally noticing,
He's truly sick of all this rhyming!

Just when the Dorench was beginning to mellow, he received sour news from a familiar fellow. His helmsman called out, audibly dismayed, [Enemy signals Sir! And they're headed this way!]. "That simply won't do!", the Dorench hissed in contempt, "We'd best call the Inquisitor: he'll run them through!". Leaving his tea to chill and expire, the Captain returned to the bridge with noticeably fire. [Mister Prazutis!], he crooned over the intercom station, [The Navy will not suffer this defamation! Go now and ensure that these Wookiees learn well: to test the Empire is to court a funeral bell!]. Cutting the line and slumping his seat, the Dorench was confident these rogues would be beat. He would swat them away like so many flies, and continue to undermine their faith and its lies.

Prazutis saw the wookies as an enemy another, so of course he had to make them suffer.
"Moving to attack," Prazutis said, getting to his position. And although he hadn't fought in a while, this escorting was all in repetition.
Ready to fire, Prazutis moved to the front. As always he spoke, his wording very blunt.
"Engaging targets." Those words were the last from his mic, before firing on the ships, seeing the explosions he liked. Here and there, the ships went boom, leaving their occupants to space's infinite tomb.
Prazutis smiled as he attacked, and in the surprise, a plan, the wookies lacked. It seemed this day, the transports would get away without a hitch, and promotion of the inquisitor, would perhaps be pitched. Perhaps not with this one deed, though it's a good start, but he would have to do more in the Empire, their enemies he would rip apart.

The Dorench watched as the Inquisitor went to town, and summarily brought each ship thundering down. In truth, it was a pitifully simple task, until the resistance was swiftly crushed as last. Now the Captain prepared his persona and lies, and threw on his stuffy yet handy disguise. And as he landed in the outpost below the fake fur began bristling to and fro. Gargling seltzer water lent to his cunning ruse, as he began to contemplate which gifts to choose. Somewhere to long, others too bold, and there was limited space in the cargo hold. Nonetheless, the Dorench went about his work, and this endeavor he would not shirk. Feeling he'd spent sufficient time, the Captain summoned his vessel, and up the ladder he climbed. Now, he was certain, Life Day was through, and the Dorench felt more schemes ready brew. Thus it was, so again shall it be: an awful night to all, and an awful night to thee!

The trivial items taken from the wookies, would all be sold, even the cookies.
The toys and the food that they planned on partaking was missing, nothing there for their waking. The Empire had taken the things they enjoyed, as prazutis said "Let's just move with some quickness employed."
And as he waited for the Dorench's business to end, he could feel the loss of the wookies, that none could easily mend.
For most, it would be sorrow that they felt with the beasts, but for Prazutis, he just didn't care in the least.
