Outland Mining - Flight 0819 - Blue Star Pirates

Kita's direction of focus quickly moved from Mercy to the window of the ship. Staring out, she watched as a few other ships joined them nearby before the ship begun following behind Jacobi's vessel. Yawning, she decided to try and get to know Mercy more. "So...not to necessarily be nosey, but what's your story working with Jacobi?" She asked while resting her elbow on a armrest. With right hand supporting her underneath her chin, she stared at the brunette with a innocent curiousity in her blue gaze. "That is, If you don't mind me asking?"

If their was one thing Kita loved, it was conversing with others. She hadn't socialized much after her mother's passing...but before that she was quite the social butterfly and enjoyed making acquaintances or friends with those who passed by the family shop or on her home planet of Tibrin.

Mercy had nothing else better to do other than fume at her lack of success in slaughtering their captor in a husk of molten plasma-baked metal and cooling body-bits across the stars, but here Kita was trying to host a conversation with her. A couple of seconds slowly crawled by when she finally retracted the mess of fire she splayed across her fists in her heated rage. A simmerless extinguish and then she was fine. Or so she seemed to be. A stressful mound was stacked on her as she tried to allow Kita to be her outlet form this banthashit [censored].

"I mean, duh. Dude's got us in invisible shackles. I'm not a fan of having my life on pause over political drama." She leaned back, crossing her arms over her chest, turning a cooling face to the teen. "Not one that will keep you alive, should I spill it to you. Dude's got this ship, and probably even this room rigged to his whim. Let's not make this any harder on us than he already makes it to be." The message was clear; should they keep the boogeyman's name out of their mouth, maybe he'd pass over them for the night. She didn't reveal anything to Kita in trust that it would keep the kid safe, and in turn herself safe. Because if she kept true to her word, maybe Dastan wouldn't have to come find her, and thus he'd remain safe from this goofy ass return of the Most Loathed. But then again, why did she care if Kita made it or not? Hell, if she died, then the only one that would be pissed if at all would be Blood; and Tormentous could take him once he got his powers back, right? It only revolved back into another bout of politics and she just told her brain to shut the hell up about it, for now.

Taking the slight time to refamiliarize herself with how being calm felt, Mercy in turn asked the girl, "What's so good about your home? I mean, I didn't mean to just snatch you from it, but orders are orders." A shrug caused the leather of her jacket to smoothly creak only a bit before she settled. Surely Kita understood she wasn't here because they liked abducting people. Even though they did. Regularly.

"Slade had a thing for making these really good berry drinks on the resort of his before he went frakkin haywire. I didn't think I was capable of even liking fruit until I tried one." She gave a ugly snort-chuckle as she recalled the disgust she wore on her face that day once the feral girl looked at the drink so long ago, only to order them repeatedly until her gut hurt afterwards. It was a set up. Healthy food existed to hurt you as much as possible. But not those damn smoothies. Those were a good piece of life. "Thinking if this all blows over in one piece, imma get one. It's been a year or two...hopefully he's not there so he doesn't just kill me outright."

Left in the dark, Kita found Mercy's answer shallow about herself and Jacobi. Quietly Kita took what she could get for now, but eventually she would dig to find out the full details about them. "Ok then...I'll take your word for it." With a sigh, Kita boredly begun cracking her knuckles while in thought as she stared out the window once more. I wonder how dad is doing... Thinking on that, she quickly realized while cracking her joints that she forgot her ring at home. But before she could become frantic at the realization she didn't have her ring with her, Mercy was already starting to ask her a question.

What's so good about your home? I mean, I didn't mean to just snatch you from it, but orders are orders.

Funny Mercy would mention home right when she started thinking about it, she quickly responded with excitement. She pushed aside the thought of her abduction that was added in on the question since Kita obviously knew a job was a job. "Well, it might not sound exciting to you, but its very relaxing on Tibrin in my opinion. We don't have much trouble going on nowadays...except for of course I'm sure you two stirred up a commotion. That and we have had trouble with contaminated fish lately causing illness..." Her voice dropped a bit at that last sentence.

At hearing Mercy's mention of Slade and berry smoothies, It bewildered her that Mercy didn't even like fruit really. Kita tilted her head a bit to the side, long blonde hair brushing along her side as she did so. "Who's Slade?"

The world below was now the world dominating their views. Angling properly so that their ships wouldn’t skip off the atmosphere in a grizzly crash their noses dipped hard into the depths and soon their hulls began to glow from the friction of such an aggressive reentry. Tormentous viewed his control panel to double check shields and weapon status, all was in the green and as he did so he also viewed the update to one of his accompanying ships, it seemed the malfunction was tracked down and dealt with - good - a clean slate on the queue meant the better chances they had to escape this fight later on.

In the distance the sights of a distant star port began coming into visual range and communication hails to them also shot at them requesting identification and warning that their rate of entry was too steep, that they were going to crash if they sustained their course.

Little did the fools know - their dooms had arrived.

At extreme weapons range, the Firespray-31 ‘Jai-Galaar’ opened fire on a long strafing run across a high tiered walkway that stitched fire across its length until the ship passed in a scream overhead, igniting a trolly with its staccato of fire. The high walkway collapsed in a blaze - the attack had begun.

Warvanus’ ship followed Jacobi’s covering his six. As he opened fire The Star’s Delight followed suit, as Warvanus spun the blaster turret and opened fire. The shots raining towards, a communications tower which became engulfed in flames, it was not a critical area as he recognized redundancy towers just in his peripheral. He turned his attention next to any blaster placements that they might have in place for defense. He was happy that it had begun, he was tired of the waiting, he was tired of not doing anything. Their Doom had indeed arrived.

“Keep sharp” Warvanus called to his piloting droid, Shields were holding, and weapons working perfectly, the only question on the War-Bringer’s mind was, When would they have incoming?

The Freighter zig and zagged keeping close to the Jai-Gaalar, the lack of resistance or defense was noted in the mind of the War-Bringer and he wondered on top of the incoming was , Was this a trap? If it was Warvanus would fight tooth and claw through it. They would not be able to keep him caged. Indeed their Doom, and Death had come for them. With Jacobi, and Warvanus as their guides.

Rapid red lances spat from the Firespray-31 in a devastating strafing run that left blazing fires and smoldering pillars of smoke behind it as it screamed overhead. Tormentous pulled back on the controls and brought the Firespray up in a long climbing ascension. His scanners plotted projected path lines of his fellow ships - all was proceeding according to plan and it was only a matter of time before they’d coax out any would-have-been escorts - at which time they’d shoot them from the sky and then the contents of not only the convoy but the entire space port would belong to the Sith!

During the ascension of the Firespray-31 the scanner blipped a warning. Energy signals on the surface of the star port. Knowing he wouldn’t get a very good distance for a second run if he turned this early - he made the sacrifice and pulled the ‘Jai-Galaar’ around in a sharp turn with plenty of G’s. Down on the surface of the star port he spotted the bulky box framed turrets begin to come online and turn to initiate defensive fire on the raiding ships.

Tormentous keyed his communication unit - “Evasive action - turrets on the surface are opening fire. One good shot could down us so don’t take any chances.”

Just then a burst of energy flashed by his cockpit and he pulled the Firespray aside and out of its attack run. He’d have to set up another one - that was too close.

The Star’s Delight made a second run at the convoy, more and more smoke and ruin filled his viewport. Warvanus unleashed another round of the ship’s fury. The War-Bringer roared in triumph then turned the gun towards another target and unleashed another volley of blaster fire.
“Send one of those concussion missles towards the convoy” he called to the piloting droid. After a few moments one of the ship’s Concussion Missles was unleashed.

As it made contact with its target, it just added to the damage that they had already unleashed. The freighter pulled up just as the comm. came to life warning about turrets.

“Evasive maneuvers” he called to the piloting droid, as he called the command the freighter became a hard to hit target as it zig-zags avoiding blaster fire. Even as the ship was moving all over the place, it was positioning itself for another run at their target.

As the ship entered the upper hemisphere, Kita begun feeling the turbulence. Looking down, she clipped her seatbelt in place while gripping the arms on the chair. She rather would of been on a speedboat then this. At least then if something went wrong, you landed in the water and had a better chance of survival. Out here...if the ship blew up, then you would be dead instantly. Frozen, floating within the icey depths of space.

Kita shuddered at the thought. That was not how she ever pictured her demise.
