Outland Mining - Flight 1221 - Blue Star Pirates

Post by Master Buggie » Mon Dec 06, 2021 1:25 am

**Core Worlds**
**Corusca Sector, L-9**
**Coruscant System, Landing Pad SL-827**

The food riots would soon be upon the territory that the Blue Star Pirates had adopted after the liberation of Coruscant. Buggie mused that the bolt in the wall where he had met and been recruited by Jay Mertaal had been cleaned out at this point, and in its place, some suffering citizenry counted down the days to starvation within. The Force rippled all around him, carrying the pain and suffering of the underworld's populace to Buggie's senses. The result was palpable, and it disgusted Buggie to the point where he debated withdrawing from the Force altogether while he was on-world.

Why haven't the Galactic Alliance done anything? Buggie thought, realizing a moment later that there were countless citizens on Coruscant who were likely asking the same thing.

All momentum from the liberation of Coruscant had faded at this point, of course. Apparently, the Galactic Empire was all too happy to cede Coruscant after the battle and humiliate the Galactic Alliance by functionally blockading every surrounding system. While this made evacuating Blue Star Pirate matériel tricky, the Pirate Council estimated that it would be no problem for the Jedi captain who had penetrated the Gordian Reach more than a dozen times with nothing more than a pair of unarmed freighters. The efforts to feed, employ, clothe, and otherwise aid the populace of the Coruscant underworld-- and that term was used literally to refer to the subterranean population-- would continue up until the point where the Blue Star Pirate position was untenable. After all, they could only do so much to fend off the rioting in their area of control before the storehouses of Blue Star supplies were too tempting for the underworld's sentients to ignore.

Buggie clenched his mandibles against one another as he supervised the loading operation within the main cargo hold of Outland 02. The entire reason he was here with the Blue Star Pirates was that he had witnessed firsthand how free they were to provide aid to the forgotten masses that the Galactic Alliance overlooked. By this point, the Galactic Alliance had neglected the planet they had decided to spill so much blood fighting over, that the Blue Star Pirates wouldn't even be able to maintain a presence.

As the cargo haulers pulled up to the loading ramp, Buggie looked out from the cargo hold at the blue jumpsuit-clad grunts who escorted the supplies, walking in formation three apiece on each side of the haulers. These sentients were armed with blaster rifles to ward off any thoughts of raiding the cargo containers stacked upon each hauler.

This isn't how things should end here, Buggie knew, but once again he found himself powerless to change the flow of events dictated by the clashing powers of the galaxy.
