Oh for the love of... great... ships.

Starr turned from the droid and made his way to the comms unit.

Yeah, yeah, peaceful ships here just move along. Nothing to be seen here, unless you happen to be the guys I'm waiting for. This is Kessel Rock Trading Company's fleet, the unfortunate Captain of this asinine expedition is Derric Starr, so unless you have pressing business with the KTRC or this glorified ambush we're supposed to be involved in by all means ignore these sad excuses for Correllian stock freighters.

The pilot droid cut the comms as Starr turned with a mock look of shock and horror.

What did I say something out of line?

Captain Starr you will be in for an extended dig session when we return to Kessel, don't jeopardize this mission with any further unnecessary outburst. You know you are on a very short leash as it is.

Yeah, yeah, just make sure you my whiskey isn't watered down bantha p...

You will make do with the supplies KTRC gives you, after all you are a mere slave!

Right a slave I keep forgetting that.

*"The sith, maybe. I'd like to think I've given us plenty to do recently." he was being facetious. He had personally been training Mercy again for the past several months, and both of them had been growing from it. Though they had also done some preliminary work around Kashyyyk, a whole ordeal with a jedi enclave.
"If you feel bored, I can always find something more for you to do aboard the Dark Spire..."

Both a warning and a jest. The Dark Spire was their new mobile home, for lack of better phrase. A moderate sized Corvette that housed their ships, crew, and small retinue of elite soldiers. There were seven new force sensitives- some that followed them into the unknowns, and a few the picked up within them. Two of which were twins of a spectacular repto-avian looking species. Strong, cunning, and forceful (in any meaning of the word).

As soon as he had said that, he closed his eyes. He wanted to speak with the dark side of the force.... rather- have the dark side speak to him. Dastan was an accomplished warrior, not a philosopher, and his grasp on the force was not as strong as his ambitions. Yes, he was an influential member of the order, and he was an accomplished one as well... His lack of a strong connection to the force absolutely did not hold him back in his business. Though, he was hoping, maybe it would show him the future.

As always. It did not. He pursed his lips, opened his eyes. His brow lowered, and he habitually double checked the console to make sure he was on all the right comm channels, as well as to make sure his instruments were nominal.

Squeezing a fist, his glove creaked, and his knuckles popped as he exhaled a frustrated, impatient sigh.

Ashara adjusted the goggles over her eyes, as she tried to 'reach out' with this... Force... the way Buggie had told her two. Again, she was bombarded with a surge of energy, of feelings that she could neither experience nor control. Life and death, light and dark, fire and water... she gasped, panted and let it go, closing herself off from that... whatever it was.

"You okay, Miss Rys?" she heard Pyke's voice to her side, and nodded. Weakly.

"How long till we take aff?" she asked, with her hand on her head as she leaned back in her chair in the cockpit of the YT-2400 Sunflower.

"We're already in the hyperspace," Pyke raised an eyebrow as he glanced in Ashara's direction again. "Are you sure you're up to this task?"

"... Aye, I'm just still not used tae... tae this Force stuff," she said, shaking her head as she finally got her bearings. They were in hyperspace, alright, the vast blue expanse was right in front of her on the viewscreen. They were going to make a small jump, catch the rest of the crew, and then they would be joining the rest of the Blue Star Pirates and doing what pirates do best:

Raid. Plunder. Loot. And celebrate at the end.

Despite her internal struggle with coming to terms with her Force-sensitive nature, she smiled.

She had a good feeling about this...

Kessel Rock Trading Company.

Rane had never heard of them, but that didn’t mean that the Blue Star Pirates didn’t have other business interests supporting their ongoing efforts to stymie the Sith. It wasn’t necessarily uncommon either for pirate groups to make loose alliances to go after larger convoys and more profitable targets. Besides, it never hurt to have strength in numbers.

“Kessel Rock Trading convoy, this is Outback Trading ship Steel Rain. Transmit the appropriate security codes.”

As he waited for the appropriate clearances from the two freighters, something about the name of the captain who seemed to be in charge of the small group picked at his mind. He had heard the name Deric Starr before, but where and in what context. As he thought about it, he realized it was in connection to the disappearance of his cousin, Sien DeCola.

Protocols were protocols, but Rane wasn’t going to wait much longer beyond Deric Starr’s response for a security clearance. He was going to find out what Deric Starr knew about Sien’s disappearance one way or another, even if it meant deviating from his current mission.

Clearance codes?

Starr looked at the pilot droid, with a questioning glance. This had bad written all over it, and knowing his luck this dance would turn into a Sith-storm before it was over. Not that bluffing wasn't an option but the droid merely acknowledged the request y responding in kind.

Tell me they didn't kill somebody for this information about this convey.

More silence from the droid, things were starting to look very bad from his point of view, but then again he was one man with two ships and clearly deficient pilot droids at the helm. Life sure had it's way of twisting his bad luck into something far worse.

Be at ease slave the codes are as good as the ships we are using.

That wasn't an answer to my question, and it sure as hell doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy. If I end up with a blaster in my face someone is going to be rewiring a pair of droids when I get back to Kessel. These codes better be right. For some reason I get the feeling the KRTC didn't gain these ships or that code by asking nicely for them.

Oh, but we did ask nicely!

Starr shook his head, this was a bad sign if ever he heard one.

They were getting close to being able to jump, so far there had been no incident as of yet. But he could feel it in the Force, something was amiss, his danger sense had not started to prickle the back of his mind, at least not yet. He performed another sensor sweep, and it came back clean, He contacted his Piloting droid, who performed the action and got the same result.

He flipped the comm. To the rest of the Sith convoy “It’s too quiet out here” he did not feel apprehension quite the opposite he was excited, Of course if it was proved false then the Warbringer would be disappointed. Which was why the warbringer felt more at home being the raider and not the shipper.

Just in case, he decided to power up his weapons, so they would be ready at a moment’s notice. So far the convoy was proceeding smoothly but that could easily change at a moment’s notice

“Or you could not,” she responded on a dime. Mercy was fully trying to do the opposite of his conjured regimen. Because damn was he brutal with it. And if there was something he could do no better at, it was being a smart ass and finding out she spent too much time trying to land high jump kicks in their spars than realizing they could easily spend a good majority of her energy. Along with being easy enough to snatch her out of the air, and land her smashing towards the ground.
She fumed at the memories.

She then felt his attempts at trying to pull and yank at the hidden veil of the Force, his own irritation rubbing abrasively against their own bond. “You’re gonna give yourself a hernia.” She frowned herself at his struggle, knowing patience was the least of his strongest suits when he wasn’t on a recon mission. Hell, patience wasn’t one of her strongest suits, either- so who was she to talk? His damn mom?

Blood was analyzing the several feelings and tugs, the various pushes and pulls in the Force. While a majority of them were hidden icons, a few he simply couldn’t decide were either worth keeping more of an eye on or whether they were simply different essences in the Force. Of course he was a wary of near all scents within Life he didn’t immediately recognize, deeming them hostile unless they were of his domain. As many times as he and his Faction had gotten backstabbed, turned and used, betrayed, chased out, who could blame him?

Noting one of their party’s weapons systems activated, he was mindful of it being Warvanus- if there was someone who was fearless in being alert and prepared to gun someone or something down, it was indeed the Lord of War.
Being in the Blastboat, there was no hiding, but the Infilitrator was already using it's SSS system- atleast there was a hidden gem with the guns immediately prepared. Blood would simply have to decipher more through the Force than meager things to be paranoid over.

Rane waited patiently for the response from the YT freighters. Finally, after several tense minutes with his ships’ weapons trained on the two freighters, a garbled response came across his ship’s comm system. Rane couldn’t understand the message, and realized that he had never enabled the ship’s universal translator circuitry. Upon doing so, while still somewhat static, the message came through loud and clear…

“When it rains, it pours.”

Well, there’s a line that’s starting to get old. He was definitely going to need to speak to management about the situation once he got back to The Wayward. Without waiting any longer, as he knew the impending raid was on a tight schedule, Rane transmitted the coordinates he had received at his last hyperspace route to the freighters.

“Kessel Rock Trading convoy, I’ve transmitted a set of jump coordinates to you. Come around to the jump vector and jump on my mark.”

Rane brought his own two ships around and upon reaching the course that would put him on the proper jump trajectory, he issued the signal to make the jump to hyperspace and once again watched the star field stretch out before him through the Steel Rain’s view screen.
