Combat Training (Mora, Rhoden, Desade)

[Rhoden Carbine]

Rhoden watched as Mora ducked out of sight of one of her hunters, but she didn't notice the robed figure watching from another building. It lifted a gloved hand to its head and the hunt began in earnest. There was an initial crack of blasterfire as two figures climbed up onto the roof behind her and the robed enemy jumped onto her roof.

"Oh I do hope she puts up a fight before being killed, it will be most entertaining." Stalker said. Rhoden turned slowly to look at the droid and shook his head. "What?" Stalker asked. "I need to redo your personality matrix again." he said, "I'd like to see you try." the droid said. Rhoden sighed.

[Mora Norith]

Mora checks behind her to make sure no one is following, and her eyes widen when two hunters appear over the edge, one with a blaster pointing right at her. She rolls out of the way, barely missing the bolt, pulling out her blaster in the same motion. Rolling into a kneeling position, Mora fires back at the hunters, successfully hitting one in the chest and the other in their blaster arm. She fires again and kills the remaining one only to have her feet knocked out of her from behind. Above her stands a robed hunter. Mora quickly rolls out from under him and raises her blaster, but the hunter knocks it out of her hand before she can use it. Thinking quickly, Mora grabs the leg the hunter used to kick away her blaster and surges upward, causing the hunter to fall backward. Mora pulls out her knife and plunges it into the hunter's chest, killing him.

Breathing heavily from the skirmish, Mora looks up and scans the roof tops once again. The blaster fire would alert the others to the fight and surely bring them to her location. Picking up her blaster from the roof, Mora starts off across the roofs again, this time at a brisk run. As she runs away, a blaster bolt flies past her head. Without missing a beat, she jumps off of the roof, cushioning her fall with a forward roll into a run.

[Rhoden Carbine]

Rhoden bit into a piece of candy as Mora began dispatching her first attackers with relative ease, "Difficulty: 8" he said. There was a beep. She jumped off the roof and another ran up and began firing at her. It jumped to the ground and gave chase even as she made her way, she was faster, but it had a blaster.

Rhoden noticed new dots appear and he grimaced. He pressed the button and spoke again, his voice echoing through the holodeck but ignored by the characters within. "I might have failed to mention that the program can simulate vehicles." he said. A gunship roared past overhead as he spoke and a speeder with top-mounted cannon careened into the street.

"Oh how delightfully unfair, sir!" Stalker exclaimed, "Well it'll be an interesting challenge, anyways." he muttered.

[Mora Norith]

Blaster bolts continue to fly past Mora' s head as she sprints down the street. Sliding under an abandoned cart for cover, Mora surprises another hunter on the otherside and quickly subdues him. Turning back to the shooter, she returns some of his fire and kills him with a shot to the chest. Mora takes the calm moment to catch her breath before continuing when Rhoden's voice booms into the air.

"I might have failed to mention that the program can simulate vehicles." he says. Mora's eyes widen as a gunship sails over her and a speeder skids into the street and heads straight for her, a cannon mounted on top.

"Thanks alot Rhoden!" She shouts in response and once more takes up her sprint down the street. Bolts are shot around her, causing Mora to instinctively cover her head with her arms but continues her run nonetheless.

Mora looks over her shoulder, a sense of dread washes over her as she sees the speeder is gaining on her.

"All right, new plan." She mutters to herself and skids to an immediate stop. Just as quickly, Mora begins to run again, but this time straight at the speeder. Zig-zagging a little to not get shot, Mora jumps up and lands on the front of the speeder. She shoots the hunter behind the gun as well as the driver. The speeder, with no one controlling it, drifts to the side and Mora instantly off and rolls into a standing position. The speeder rams into a building and explodes, catching Mora in the blast. She is lifted off the ground and thrown a couple yards away.

Sore and coughing up dirt, Mora picks herself up and looks back at the wreckage. Shaking herself from the daze, Mora lifts up her arm and the map appears. She groans when she sees she's only about halfway to the escape ship. Without further ado, Mora starts off down the road. She spots a familiar stand and snags a bag laying on top. Inside are a good amount of grenades.

"These should come in handy." Mora clips the bag onto her belt and continues her run down the street.

[Rhoden Carbine]

Rhoden remained silent as Mora responded. She dealt with the speeder swiftly, before it could begin firing in earnest, thankfully. She moves on hastily before the gunship can focus a spotlight on her, just as she picks up a bag of explosives the spotlight fixed on her.

"She's doing well, all things considered." Rhoden said, "She is." Stalker agreed, "For an organic." Rhoden rubbed his temples, "What did you just say?" he asked, "Nothing!" the droid said quickly.

[Mora Norith]

A bright light shines down on Mora and she looks up to see the gunship above her. There is no way she will be able to destroy it unless it gets low enough for her to throw a grenade on. Mora picks up her pace and pulls out an explosive nonetheless. As she runs her eyes are drawn to music coming from a building. She smiles. This is the most popular bar in all of New Jedha City and is full day or night. An idea wriggles its way into her brain.

Mora arms the explosive then drops it on the ground. She sprints into the bar and shouts in a frantic and scared voice.

"It's gonna blow, run!"

The explosion is set off perfectly and the citizens in the bar start to scream and run out of the building. Mora snags someone's cloak and wraps it around her. Then she follows the panicked people out of the bar, blending in with the help of the cloak and crowd.

Mora runs as fast as she can. She only slows when the screams and whirring of the gunship are far behind her. Leaning on a building to catch her breath, Mora lifts up her arm to see the map. The ship looks to be only a couple of building away, she should easily be able to sneak past any remaining hunters and complete the test.

Starting off once more, Mora takes on the appearance of a homeless person. Her back is hunched over and her head is down. From time to time she adds in a stumble to make it seem as if she has trouble walking. From time to time Mora spots hunters on the streets and roofs scanning the people, but they ignore her when she passes them.

Finally, the ship appears from behind a couple of buildings and Mora almost throws away her disguise and sprint towards it, but she restrains herself and continues her shuffle forward. When she is less than a building length away, Mora flat out runs. She can hear shouting and ducks just in time for a blaster bolt to fly past her head. But they are too late. Mora skids into the ship and the door closes.

The program vanished around Mora as she entered the ship. Rhoden walked out of the technical room and reentered the holodeck. "Very good. It put your skills to the test in a real-world scenario. Not an intense and comprehensive one-on-one session, to be sure, but it shows you're good enough to go out into the galaxy and not immediately die."

Rhoden smiled, "Keep practicing, of course. Our little mission will launch in a week--unless my intelligence is in error." he said, "I've some final details to take care of, I'll be off the station for a few days but I'll be back in time for the mission." he exited the room. In truth he had received a Priority 1 alert, the Hydra was to head to Balmorra. He was particularly bothered by the interruption, but he had appearances to maintain...

OOC: Mission thread will be up right after this in GRP, I'll send you the link. Keep in mind by the time this mission starts Rhoden's been demoted to Lieutenant and will be back to his old not-crazy self. This thread can still continue as a joint effort/occasional thing you post alone. Just to develop Mora's skills--and we'll probably use this for flight training and whatnot later.
