Aboard Koda Station, Master Vassa and her padawan, Adar Bolner, were in a mediation chamber. They were training Adar's Force abilities, and it looked like it would be another normal day at the Jedi Academy for Adar. That was when Antarian Ranger Kilt Vindon showed up.
He had some free time, and decided to check up on his friend and assigned padawan.
"Master Vassa, Padawan Bolner! I hope I am not interrupting."
"You must be Ranger Kilt Vindon. Adar has told me about you. Please, join us. Adar is about to showcase to me his control of the Force."
"That sounds... interesting...". Kilt did not understand, but he tried to be supportive.

Adar did not greet his friend, because he was just beginning his meditation. Not that he did not want to, but it was important to focus on his goal right now. It was small sacrifices like this that would make him a great Jedi later.

A calm, lethargic feeling set out all across his body and mind as he meditated. For a moment it felt like his soul, his very essence and being was leaving his body, as only he and the Force remained.Through the Force, he could see and feel the world much like he would normally, but from a different angle. It was like seeing many threads connecting everything, with ripples going back and forth as people moved, or even as things simply existed in harmony to their purpose. Adar could, as a Force sensitive, manipulate the Force around him, essentially sending out his own, powerful ripples in the Force. But now, he tried to go deeper into understanding how to control the Force around him.

He reached out with his hand. He knew that it was not required to do this, but the young padawan found it easier to yield results if he focused the Force in his hand. It was a mental ritual to maintain focus, as well as a practical technique. His breathing was slow, his senses enhanced, his will focused. He had one simple desire, one request to be manifested by and into the Force. To move the cube in front of him. He wanted to lift it up in the air, move it around and then move it closer to himself. Adar focused, feeling as the Force responded. He felt what can only be described as energy or potential coalesce in his hand. That mere act alone was enough to disrupt the flow of the Force around his hand, and as it grew in intensity, so did the deformation of the Force around him. But the Force was not dispersing or dissipating, it was like a small whirlpool had formed in Adar's hand, situated in the endless and deep lake that was the Force. Whatever water was around this whirlpool would be swept aside and funneled into it. And despite all that, to an outside, non force sensitive observer, the Jedi Padawan was merely extending his hand while focusing.

Adar slowly pushed this Force energy towards the cube. Despite his hand standing perfectly still, he felt like it was extending towards the cube, passing through the air and the Force itself, which seemed to guide it where he wanted it to go. Upon reaching the cube, the Force enveloped it and begun to apply real, physical forces unto it. The Force was somehow both an immaterial, spiritual energy and a real, physical mechanical force. This fact always pleasantly surprised Adar, but it also exited him for what potential the Force had, as well as the potential he had within the Force. But with everything being ready, Adar mentally visualized the cube lifting, and it indeed lifted.

He moved it around, left right, up and down. He even rotated it around. He had an exceptional motor control of the cube, and could move it freely or even just leave it suspend it in the air for as long as he wanted. But as he played around with it, he noticed something new. Something that was always there, but he had never noticed it in the past. The cube felt increadibly light, if not completely weightless. This must have been because he wasn't the one who was moving it. The Force was. So, perhaps whatever weight he could feel was from the ripples in the Force from his control. This was completely fascinating. If that were the case, then he could try lifting heavy book stacks, steel rods, or even entire ships! But that was for another time. For now, he continued to try new things.

For a moment, he let go of his control of the cube. He could gravity assert itself again, pushing the object towards the floor. But right before it landed, the young Padawan reached out within the Force and grabbed it. The cube stood motionless a few centimetres up from the floor. He then went to lift it back up, but had a better idea. Focusing on the side of the cube facing the floor, he pushed the cube, which shot up towards the ceiling. It reached its maximum height, half a meter before hitting the the ceiling, and then it fell back down. As Adar tried to grab it again, he misjudged its position, and thus he applied the Force to on if its sides instead of the whole cube. For a moment he panicked, but his faith in the Force and himself was too strong to shake his resolve. He watched, almost in slow motion, the trajectory of the cube. He could even see where it would go next! This was new, and hard to understand. Like looking into the future, if the future was set in stone. This was undoubtedly something the Force was showing him, but he did not understand how or why. Nevertheless, he caught the cube, and set it back to its original position in the shelf. Satisfied at his progress, he exited meditation. He reached out to grab his glass of water, but he instead brought it to his hand with the Force. Adar would have been more than happy to do this more in his day to day, but he could feel that all these unnatural disruptions in the Force, however small, were not a good thing. He knew that doing this constantly would have consequences, from the Force itself. He wondered then for a moment how did the Force do all these wicked things with the Force and managed to withstand the consequences. It was something he would never do. He vowed that.

As he got up, both Master Vassa and Kilt Vindon were there waiting for him. His master congratulated him for his progress, and for working so hard. She did however urge him to remember he still has a lot to learn. Kilt on the other hand fist bumbed Adar, saying how cool what he just did was. Adar smiled, and exited the mediation chamber with them.

"And so, one can change the world around them by channeling the Force to do what can only be described as extraordinaire."

Master Vassa was giving a lecture on Adar. But Adar had been bored ten minutes ago. He had already understood what todays meditation and Force training would be about. All the extra words were making him daze off. After finishing her lecture, Master Vassa poked Adar, who immediately got into an attentive posture.

"I hope you weren't staring into nothing from the beginning." Adar felt ashamed for his actions. As a Padawan, he had to be better. This wasn't some math class. This was Jedi training.

"No Master. I got all the important bits. But I will try to not drift off next time."

Master Vassa smiled. She could feel that her padawan was genuinely trying his best, but everyone has their flaws. Part of the padawan training is to minimize said flaws. But that was for another time.

"Now, you brought your vibroblade?" Adar nodded and placed his blade in front of him. "Good, set it off to the table. Now, as I said, focus on it, and then channel the Force into yourself and then towards the blade. Do not worry, I am here to ensure your safety if something goes wrong. Trust in the Force, and it will aid you."

[ Begin Alter lvl 1 - 400 words required ]

Adar focused on his vibroblade. He could feel the Force around him, ready to assist him, should he will it and allow it to happen. But it was all so new, so confusing. What his Master asked of him was to break the natural, physical laws, and lift something off the table without touching it. He had seen so many Jedi use this skill on so many thing and with such elegance. At first he tried to copy their movement, but that did not work. It would seem that the answer was once again in the Force. He turned his focus from the corporeal to the incorporeal. Everything was as usual. And that was the problem. How could Adar use the Force to create change? The Force was enormous, and at times it looked to be immovable, unless one was to use force to command change. But he knew that was not the way of the Jedi. So, he focused once more.

Through the Force he could see his vibroblade. It was standing where he had left it, the Force all around him and this blade. He imagined for a moment that he picked it up, and that he was bringing it towards his hand. It was moving towards him before finally landing in his hand. In reality, it was still unmoved. But this gave him an idea. What if he he channeled that thought of his, along with his will and desire to move the blade, through the Force? Was that enough to make it really happen? The young Padawan desided to try it.

He channeled all of his willpower through the Force, wanting simply to move the blade. In the beggining, nothing seemed to happen. then he noticed strange patterns in the Force. Like small pockets of Force energy manifesting or rather coalescing from the Force itself. They slowly grew larger and moved closer towards him. Adar simply observed in awe, trying as hard as he could to maintain his focus. Soon, this enigmatic to Adar Force energy manifested in his hand, and he noticed that he could command it. It moved towards the vibroblade, and it wrapped around it much like a hand would. Yet it was still connected to Adar, and thus he retracted this energy that was still gripping the blade, and to his astonishment, the blade moved. Slowly, but it moved. he lifted it up in the air, and brought it towards his hand. A few times he almost lost control and dropped the blade, but he managed to keep it mostly on course. He noted that despite being a relatively heavy object, it felt much lighter to him now. He thought it must be that way because the Force is doing the heavy lifting, and not him directly. That didn't mean it was an effortless action. He was sweating like mad and was feeling weaker than before. But even with all of that, he managed to grab the blade with his actual hand. He had done it. Before speaking with Master Vassa, he noticed that this "Force Energy" was disappearing back into the Force, now that it was no longer needed. How curious. He would need to study this again later in the coming weeks.
