The take's over, the break's over(Force apps)

Post by Neive Undant » Mon Sep 25, 2017 8:51 pm

The snow was deep, the air was dry. As Neive's aggressor landed on a large hill on the ice world of illum, a sense of the unknown loomed.
the ship's back opened and Neive stepped out, an extra black robe shielding him from the brutal weather as he looked over the area. The planet looked dead, a barren wasteland in the outer rim. However, Neive knew there was so much more.
The clone wars... Neive had been almost a fanatic about them, and this place held a crucial detail: The attack of a massive jedi temple by the separatists. Neive had heard about this event while scouring some of the jedi's archives about what had happened on Hypori. The battle between a Jedi master and a horde of seperatist bombing droids, and two jedi who were almost buried inside their own temple... Neive was going to see this temple for himself. Perhaps it had been rebuilt, he said to himself. That the jedi might have brought it back to its original glory. However, once he reached the temple... it was a terrible truth that lie in front of him.
The temple had been abandoned. Rubble was scattered throughout the temple. However, the temple was still navigable. Neive entered the large temple and thought about what could have brought such a great temple to its knees like this. It was appalling. The destruction... but it wasn't from the CIS. Something else had brought this desolation, but... what?

Neive explored the temple, walking around aimlessly for a while. Soon, he came upon a large room with a dome roof, a cavern making up the walls and ceiling. In it.... lightsaber crystals. Crystals scattered throughout the walls. Neive looked in amazement, before slowly... the colors faded. The room became almost grey, a dark resonance around the room, in the walls, everywhere... And Neive was alone, in the middle of it all. The room became almost nonexistent, no entrance or exits. Neive looked around the room as voices crawled into his head.

"Neive, you fool! You do not belong here! Why have you betrayed family?! Your heritage! You are nothing without it! Without us!"
"Neive, why do you stray? Come back to us, we will show you the way..."
"They killed us... and now you forgive them? We are your blood, and you would rather take the high road than avenge us!"
"Avenge us! Avenge us!"
"Destroy them! Take your revenge! You hate them! You want them all dead! You know you do!"

Neive held his head and fell to his knees as the choir of voices flooded his head, until they all faded, leaving one male voice.
"neive... You know this is not the way. You are better than this. You can stop your suffering. But to do this, you must kill those who cause it."
Neive shook his head, slowly standing. "No... I can't! I cannot fight in anger! I will not take revenge!" The man's voice said again. "You must. The dark side is too strong in you for you to let it go so easily."

Neive looked forward, the anger bottling up inside him. His blood boiled, and the midichlorians in it began speeding up, almost absorbing the force as Neive stepped forward. This voice... it would not deceive him. He was going to destroy it. He was going to get rid of these thoughts. Neive curled up and quickly shot his body out, a blue sphere pushing out as he yelled out. The walls of the room burst open, and again he found himself in utter darkness.
A light ahead... what was this, he wondered... was this the exit he had hoped for? Neive walked towards the light, until he exited the cavern that he had been inside.
Grass. A field, nothing around but a few buildings in the distance. Up above, a huge ship, a sphere with a ship around it. Fighters fought all around, however... some were uninhabited. Droid fighters. This was definitely of a long past. However, his thought was interrupted by the burning of a huge fire, Neive stepping back as it surrounded him, only one way for him to go: Back into the cavern. He stepped back and fell back into the darkness, Closing his eyes until he landed softly on the floor of a large room. He looked up, just in time to see a jedi, stabbed in the torso by a red, double bladed saber. Neive stood and grabbed the hilts of his blades, before noticing: Lightsabers... interesting. Neive looked back as another jedi ran forward out of a hallway, only for the sith to toss him into an elevator shaft. Neive ran forward, before the man turned to him, and Neive stopped dead in his tracks. Those horns, the design of his skin...

Darth Maul.

Neive stepped back as Maul spoke. "Neive... it is time. You must show me that you are loyal to your family. that's what is important to you, is it not? Family..." Neive was frozen. But after a moment, he realized he couldn't fight his blood.
He dropped to his knees, Maul smiling. "Good. Wait here for me." Maul looked back as the jedi hung on by a small ledge in the shaft. Maul smiled and plunged his saber down, the man falling. That was what sent Neive off the edge.
With a piercing yell, neive let out all his anger, all his hate and his fury, Into one movement. Soon, electricity shot out from his palm, Maul knocked back with such impetus into the wall behind him that the metal bent. Neive kept this going for a moment, before letting go and balling up his fist again, sending another round of electricity at Maul, the wall giving way and sending Maul out of the building, falling to the ground so far below. Neive looked at the gaping hole where his brother once stood, and fell to his knees, shaking his head. "No... brother... I can't..."

Again, Neive was plunged into darkness.

"Neive... it's alright. Do not blame yourself. It is the empire that destroyed your blood. You want revenge... do you not?"
Neive replied, "Yes... I want revenge."
"Then it is time... Confront them. Destroy them."
Neive sighed, "No. I won't give in to the dark side... I want revenge. But I will not take it."
Maul's voice became angered. "You will, Neive. It is the only reason you became a user of the force! You must destroy the empire! They destroyed your home, killed your family!"
Neive yelled out. "No! I will not fight in anger! I will not take revenge!!!"
Maul sighed. "Fine... if you want to take the path of the jedi... so be it."

Maul left Neive, alone in the veil of darkness.

For Neive, minutes turned to hours, hours turned to days, days to years. Neive was stuck in the darkness for what seemed like an eternity. He had no escape... However. His lightsabers, the ones that had been found on him when he was in that vision. They had stayed with him. He took them and examined the hilts. both were the same... However, when he ignited one... he felt at peace.
A dark blue light emitted from the blade. It was a calm, soothing light. He looked to the other saber as he stood, igniting it as well.
He jumped back and let both sabers drop to the floor the second he saw... the crimson light of the lightsaber. It was the weapon of the sith, in his own hands. He could not allow this, he thought. He could not give in to the dark side. However, he still had no exit without it.

He spent an entire month inside this void, pondering, thinking, plotting. However, when he was finished, it was done.
The plan. A large-scale assault on the empire, something that would use the Jedi and the sith together. For the first time, he thought, the two factions would work together for a singular goal: To strike at the empire. It was a glorious event, Neive thought, but he had to know everything. He had to know without a shadow of a doubt that it would work. That both plans would go off without a hitch, that the empire would be caught off guard and would be utterly defeated by the end of these battles. One, the more extreme, taking a large system in the outer rim from the empire, and the other, the one less significant of a planet but more significant in the manner of transportation. Without this planet, the Empire would have no other way but to travel near Alliance space and risk attack. If this plan worked, it would be perfect. A double strike at the empire and would lead to their loss of major supplies and troops.

However, he could never achieve this strike if he remained here. He needed a way out of this wretched place... and fast.

Neive paced within the caves. His mind had wandered about as far as it could before he lost his mind being trapped inside the dark void. "Damn this place... How am I supposed to leave?!" He held his head as he paced, trying to think.
"Neive..."
Neive looked up and he saw his ancestor again, Maul standing in front of him. Neive sighed as he looked at his blood. "Brother... I need your help..." He hung his head low as Maul chuckled in victory.
"Good. I will see to it that you are freed. But before you are freed... You must become stronger." Maul Looked over the man. "You are still weak, you have no true arsenal in the force. Nothing to use against your enemy. This must change." Neive nodded, not bowing to the man but still keeping his head low.
"Without further ado, let us begin your training."

Maul looked neive over as he walked around him, thinking. "Neive... it seems you have been trying to become more powerful, yet your abilities remain... stagnant. We must change that." He thought. "Your body, the midichlorians in your blood... they empower you. They strengthen you, and push you to become better attached to the force than you are. You must oblige, or else be wasting the power within you." Neive nodded and lowered himself to his knees. Maul was right, he thought. He was wasting the power given to him by the force. It was time that this changed.
"Now, focus on your body. Let the force use you as a vessel, let it move freely through your being, and it will strengthen you."

Neive's blood ran throughout his system within seconds, and within it, his midichlorians connected, interacted and traveled. Neive could feel the connections, the midichlorians running throughout his system, running through every part of his body. They were a thousand strands of communicating organisms. However... they could be so more. He could almost sense their presence, as if the force was not a system or a force at all. It was like a singular organism. And it used the midichlorians as a relay. Perhaps he could intercept and manipulate this relay, he thought. And so he tried.
He put his hands out in front of him and slowly began harboring the midichlorians within his hands, and noticed: Each midichlorian sent a different signal to another, one at a time. He thought, and soon he could feel the change: They began communicating with more at once, and soon it went from one message sent out to several, and soon it was like a grid between each of them. He let go of them and they quickly ran free. He once again put his hands out and saw the single message, and again converted it to a grid of them. He let them go and just as before, the grid dissipated and the midichlorians ran rampant through his body. He needed to do more.
Neive put his hands just in front of his midsection, and again he slowly created the grid within his hands. However, the close proximity to his midsection, other midichlorians picked up the message and quickly, within his torso, he felt, the messages created a system. It moved throughout his body until each single midichlorian was connected, each one sending messages to others and receiving other messages to relay them forth. They structured themselves and kept one shape as they moved through his body. His body was a system now, a true vessel for the force to communicate through. And through his body, because of the system, he could feel more power coming to him. The force was more drawn to him now, now that his midichlorians were in formation. It was organization that the force looked for, he saw, and now that it was there, the force pounced on him and power surged through his body. He could feel the force rushing through each midichlorian, until they were all connected to both each other and the force. Soon, the force's rush slowed and he had a constant flow through his body.

Neive opened his eyes and relaxed, the rush of power almost overwhelming him.
"Good. It seems you have allowed the force into your being. Let us then move on."

"Now that you have let the force use you, you must use it in return. The force penetrates, it scatters. It is everything, everywhere. You must see through the eyes of the force, or else you will be blind forever." Neive stood and looked about. "And how do I do this?" Maul chuckled. "Here. You shall train." He tossed him a silver lightsaber, the hilt looking worn but still had a shine to it. Maul Held out a small ball, with projectors on several different sides. Neive stepped back and held the saber, igniting the red blade. Maul looked to him as he activated the small droid. "Eyes closed. You must not trust your eyes. Instead, use the force to see for you."

As Neive closed his eyes, the darkness was as thick as the dathomiri fog. Neive could see nothing but perhaps a few glows of life. He listened to the droid fire and he tried to block, only to barely deflect the laser and it still shoved into his leg. He jumped back a bit before stepping back into position. He tried to calm himself, but as his emotions waned, the small orbs of light did as well. Another shot, straight into his abdomen. He didn't even have time to react before it made contact. He held his gut for a moment before becoming enraged, stepping back as the orbs returned, along with a new one: A floating red orb in front of him. It moved around for a moment before a red light shot from it, and Neive blocked. The laser flew into the wall. Again it moved, again it fired, and again Neive blocked. The laser barely missed the ball. He stepped forward and again it shot, neive sending the shot straight back, the ball getting hit square in the middle with the shot, falling to the ground. As it fell, the red orb faded, and the droid deactivated.

"Good, Neive. You can see the smaller threats, Now you must focus on larger targets." Soon, as Neive turned to his master, pure darkness engulfed him. A light flickered on, and he was in a large room, a walkway in front of him. He walked forward and then saw below: A maze of sorts, a large room with walls and crevices. It seemed like his playground, however he had a feeling that he would not be at an advantage here.
"Now, Neive. It is time you learned to see that which is not in front of you." A blade ignited behind him as he ignited the saber given to him and turned, just in time to see a blade come down at him. He brought his own up and barely deflected, before pushing his master back. The man chuckled, opening a blade on the other side of his saber. "Good. But how well can you see when you are blind?" He cut the walkway that extended out, the end that Neive stood on swinging down, Neive jumping down in the halls as the room went black.

Neive looked around for a moment, but saw that it was useless. He was in pitch darkness, besides the immediate light that his saber emitted. Neive Closed his eyes once more, and as before, he only saw the smaller orbs of life, the insects and vermin that scurried about around the room. However, Neive thought, maybe his newfound power could help him.
As the system of midichlorians in his body communicated, he focused. Soon, signals went from his mind to his eyes and the rest of his body, and a small outline of the room glowed before him. He walked the halls, warily looking around for his master.
Soon, he heard a blade ignite, however he could not find the source of the noise, nor did he see the blade's light. After a second, he heard the hum of the saber behind him, and turned just to see his master bring the saber down onto him. Had it not been for Maul's state, Neive would have been killed. Neive needed to focus. He put his head down and tried to harness the force as he slowly walked, and soon a dim orb was seen, skulking into the shadows quickly. Neive ran forward and looked, only for the orb to disappear. He looked around as he kept moving, before a small sound of wind came from behind him. He looked back and saw a large orb, floating above a wall. It flew up and down towards him, and Neive brought his lightsaber up to block.
Sparks flew as the sabers clashed, the orb only pushing for a moment before retracting back into the walls. Neive watched it for a minute before it disappeared behind the walls of the room. Neive had won for the moment.
He sighed and thought, before his focus was back to the force. Soon, as his focus grew, so did his awareness of his surroundings, until he could see most details of the room. And as another saber ignited, he traced the noise to a red outline of a humanoid being. His master. Neive jumped up the wall to meet him, and quickly struck first.
The saber clashing lasted for a minute before Maul jumped back and slunk into the shadows, however, Neive still saw his being behind the walls. He quickly started to chase, Until Maul stopped to catch his breath. Neive jumped down, a loud yell emitting from his lungs as he fell in front of his master, striking him down.

"Very good, Neive. You are learning well. It seems as if there is only one more thing to do."
"And what's that?"
"Be able to differ friend from foe."
Neive couldn't help but hesitate. After all, he wasn't completely sure who was friend and who was foe to him at this point. However, because of his master, he knew who it was he would have to face.
In front of him, two men walked forward. One, a Jedi, and the other a sith. Their lightsabers ignited in front of Neive and he ignited his as well, waiting for them. Again, the room he was in before reappeared, and he was again left in darkness. However, this time he knew what he was doing.

As neive recreated the outline as before, he could see two outlines: One blue, and one red. As Neive thought, he followed them both as the two fought. As the two silhouettes clashed and fought, Neive stood by and watched.Soon, the blue spirit conquered the red, and stood above him to deliver the final blow. Neive lunged forward and stopped his blade, seeing the purple color as their blades clashed. Neive pushed him back and drove his saber forward, the man's chest opening from the blow. The blue silhouette faded as he hit the ground, and Neive looked to the red aura that he had helped. He stood and nodded to Neive, before dissipating.

Neive opened his eyes and saw that the man had disappeared, then looked to the brown robes where the blue aura had been. The Jedi, he thought... he killed a Jedi...
Neive fell to his knees, dropping the lightsaber as Maul came back, picking it up. "Such a small thing that can cause so much destruction..." Maul chuckled and put it away, then turned back to Neive. "You have done well, brother... it is almost time." Neive looked to maul as he stood. "You have tormented me long enough! Let me free!" Maul laughed. "In time, brother, in time. There is only one thing left to do."
Neive looked to him. "And what might that be?!"
Maul looked at him. "It is time that you relieve yourself of these petty swords of your's and take a real weapon. Why do you think you were drawn to Illum... to the one place that jedi and sith alike have come to make their lightsabers?"

Neive sighed and looked down once more as Maul spoke.
"In order to make a lightsaber, there is a cycle, a chain you must learn." He dropped the pieces for the hilt on the ground in front of Neive. As Neive looked over the potential weapon, He shook his head. It was strange to think that he was here, making a saber under one of the most infamous sith of all time...
"Focus Neive. Remember this..." Neive nodded and closed his eyes, listening.
"The crystal is the heart of the blade. The blade is the heart of the sith. The sith are the crystal of the force. The force is the blade of the heart. All are intertwined. All are one." Maul shook his head. "It's a code of the jedi, but it still holds relevence. As you know, sometimes it takes using both sides of the force to reach your goal, whatever it may be." Neive nodded and looked back at the hilt, and examined it. As he put it together slowly, Maul watched. "If you want to keep the saber you hold, you must assemble it yourself, Neive. Find your place in the galaxy, the force will guide you."
As Neive sighed and closed his eyes, the force worked through his hands, and he began assembling. He took the crystal and moved the gold projector around it. As he held it in place, he took the metal hilt and placed the projector inside, before closing the hilt with the top half, and soon the metal weapon he held in front of him was complete. He looked at it and stood, his thumb on the ignition button.
"Go ahead, Neive... unveil your new toy." He chuckled.
Neive opened the saber and watched as a blood red blade shot from the hilt. His eyes widened... the blade of the sith.
He stepped back, letting the blade fall to the ground, as Maul looked at him. "Oh, are you not satisfied with your new weapon?" Neive looked at him. "You have tormented me long enough, brother... I do not want this!"
Maul chuckled. "You are blinded, Neive. Let me show you your error." He opened his single bladed saber and looked at Neive. "You are going to fight. You are going to win. Or else you will die." He swung his saber, neive just rolling out of the way and grabbing his saber. As Maul pushed forward towards Neive, his blade opened and he held it up, Maul's saber hitting it and pushing. Neive pushed back with all he had, and slipped.
Maul's lightsaber shoved down beside Neive, and he took the chance to throw his blade up. As soon as it made contact with Maul's chest, he vanished. Neive fell to the ground, his breathing heavy. He looked and saw a light in the distance. He walked towards it and exited, finding himself within the temple once more.
As he walked out, back towards his ship, he thought... what had happened within the temple? He felt... more connected to the force. He was stronger. Yet he had not trained. What had happened? He shook his head. Something bumped his leg as he walked. He looked down at his waist, and a lightsaber hilt slung on his belt. He picked it up and pushed the button, yet nothing had happened, no ignition... strange. He put it back and boarded his ship, looking at his pilot droid. It had been in rest mode. He activated it promptly. "How long was I gone?" He sat in the co-pilot's seat.
"About 4 days, sir."
Neive looked at him. "4 days? That's insane. It couldn't have been that long, I was barely inside for 2 hours."
The droid shook his head. "You weren't inside, sir. I had assumed you had moved on, about 2 hours into your investigation, I sensed no life signs coming from the temple ruins."
Where had Neive gone? What had happened to him in there? "No matter... let's just go. I'm not sure what happened here, but I want to forget I ever came here in the first place." The droid nodded and prepared the ship for flight.
4 days... where was he all that time, he wondered?
