Running an Errand (NPC, Char Dev. PM if want to join)

Krieger had never been deployed on a solo mission before, but here he was in his master’s shuttle. His Master had pulled him from the slave pits because he showed some affinity with the Force, and he had won the right to be apprenticed to Warvanus. Warvanus did not exclusively train him in the Force , though he had some basic techniques, he trained him in hand to hand, tactics, warfare, projectile and energy weapons. He was Warvanus’ personal operative. He was loyal to Warvanus. Through his efforts in showing his worth to Warvanus, he had sent the operative to Ziost to pick up an artifact rumored to once belong to a forgotten Sith Lord Darth Desectivus.

The artifact held no dark side power. It was a recording device, did it contain teachings? Did it contain historical and biographical accounts? Neither Warvanus nor Krieger knew. Warvanus had permitted his droid KL-PK1 to accompany him. He preferred to be called “Karl”

“We are approaching Ziost” Karl told him

The shuttle came out of hyperspace and after getting clearance it approached and landed.

“Stay with the shuttle Karl, this should not take long” Krieger told the droid as he disembarked

“Oh Joy Bloody Joy” Karl Mummered. He had the personality of a protocol droid with a big dose of being a curmudgeon thrown in.

It was a couple hours before Krieger returned to the shuttle with a cubed holocron in his hands. He looked at Karl “Mission Accomplished, is the shuttle ready for take off?”

Karl nodded, when both were strapped in the shuttle began its departing ascent, and a short time later the shuttle was once again back in hyperspace, making its way back to Sojourn.

=Somewhere in the “guts of the shuttle=

Machines hummed and clicked performing their functions, various parts having hoses and wires protrouding from them, when the shuttle jumped into hyperspace the hyperdrive gave its normal click-hum and this time was no different. It was about 15 minutes after the jump to hyperspace that a blue colored hose had sprung free from being attached to a power cell, that helped power the engines. When the hose sprung free it struck another component which caused a spark. It was a cascading effect, the sublight engine was effectively ruined and now inoperable, which caused stress on the other sub-light as well as the hyperdrive, which tried to compensate for the additional stress. One engine gone, now the hyperdrive failed and a time later the other sublight failed.

“What the?” Krieger said as he heard an explosion and the return to real space followed.

“Sub-light 1 and Hyperdrive offline” Karl reported

Krieger got up to head to the back but was greeted with smoke. “Try to get us to the nearest habitable world, if theyre any in the system”

After several minutes Karl reported there was a small moon that was habitable. “Aim the shuttle there” Krieger told Karl

The shuttle somehow righted itself it was no longer in a spin, but the last sublight engine was going to fail at any moment due to the added stress no matter how Krieger saw it they would be crash landing somewhere. He had been able to put out the fire inside the cabin. To lessen the stress Karl had reduced the output of the single sublight using it in bursts. All it did was buy them enough time to get close to the small barren looking moon. The shuttle began its approach and it was then the last sublight died sending sparks and smoke inside the cabin as the sublight’s innards were stressed beyond tolerable levels.

The shuttle made its descent the nose brought up to a higher angle to soften the crash inside the cabin,but the inevitable happened. The shuttle smacked into the moon and the craft slid The impact causing Krieger to be knocked unconscious due to the head impact . In the end the landscape of this barren moon was defaced with a rock trail that was created from a shuttle that crashed on to it’s surface.
