Feeling the wind rush by his face a sense of calm came as he realized the girl would not meet him with hostility and sass this time. The young Sith returned the favor by allowing her the ability to speak without any interruption. He required no apology, nor did he want to give her a reason to apologize. Simply put, she would just have to grow to like the man in time. The hard work of bringing a hopeful in was done, now all she had to do was heal her physical and mental wounds before continuing on with training.
His eyes opened to the lush environment around them as they adjusted to the brightness. Slowly moving to his feet, he turned to meet the girl. Raphael was dressed in his casual black attire, looking comfortable on such a peaceful day. Looking the girl up and down, he could determine she was still a little weak from the days before. He himself has spent time in the Bacta Tank healing from his minor wounds, but it seemed she might be taking a little longer.
Raphael then approached her, examining the wounds carefully as he walked around her. The pale man decided maybe it was best if he kept her out of harms way for a while, maybe a lighter form of training would do.
As she began to speak again, he poked one of her wounds seeing if he would get a reaction out of her. Raphael watched her face to see if she would get angry again before settling down his childish ways.
A soothing voice bellowed out, “There is nothing to theorize. You have to chose between two paths set before you.”
Now standing in front of her, his hand motioned out into the garden so that she could visualize it. “One path leads you to follow my father as he guides you to glory. I will aid you along the way as you learn to take what you deserve in this galaxy,” He added.
A somber voice rang out, “The other path…. Well, you will lead a normal worthless life. You will struggle to get by and probably end up on the wrong side of more of those wannabe Sith trying to find you. Its hard to tell”
Raphael stood before her once more, “But the choice is ultimately up to you. I cannot force you down our path, that is something you have to decide yourself.”
He moved to a box near the edge of the garden, “Go ahead. If you choose to leave, I will not stop you.”

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
That calming wind blew through the courtyard and washed Kressara in the smell of nature and earth, working wonders on her high strung nerves. It seemed the familiar scent had an effect on her the likes of which thought and human contact couldn’t compare. Some memory deep in her mind would play on repeat every time she felt such a breeze, soothing her internal chaos and relaxing her muscles, until Raphael slowly rose from his spot on the grass. Then she went back to that same old way. Her eyes followed him suspiciously. Even though Kressara had decided to give him a chance to prove himself an ally, she wasn’t trusting him. Not after the tricks he pulled in the prison and the stress it put on her.
She listened as he spoke and sat still with her hands on her knees and her legs tucked up beneath her, head turning to followed wherever he strode. He listed her options while circling around her and examining her injuries. Childishly poking the gnarly wound on her shoulder. Kressara sucked in air and flung an arm around to swat at his legs instinctually, though not with enough force to be anything other than a light tap. Regardless she missed, something less akin to anger and more closely related to agitation tinging her energy. She let that annoyance slide away as she relaxed again and continued to give him her attention.
“Go ahead. If you choose to leave, I will not stop you.” He offered an out that the girl just might have taken yesterday.
She remained. Kressara sat on the grass with an attentive look on her face and her eyes trained on Raphael. The girl was going nowhere.
“I’ll see where your path leads. I already know where I’d be walking if I decided to travel alone...You and yours caused me a lot of pain and stress, and I’m not talking about the sith who killed my family. I’m talking about you and the man who brought me to you. I’m injured and unsure about my life because of you, but as it stands there’s something I’ve been introduced to that far outweighs the wrong you did me. Repair what you damaged, show me what you’ve started to reveal about the universe, and I’ll walk your path. I’ll walk it, run it, or forge it when the way vanishes if you can kill the nothingness…”
She seemed to be referring to a depression forming where the wounds of her heart began to heal, like scar tissue that nothingness was growing. Kressara didn’t want it. She didn’t want to feel agony all her life over her losses. If the sith could replace that nothingness with a new life, she’d take it.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
Raphael acknowledged everything she had said. Instead of an affirmative response, he just simply nodded and continued on about the garden. He knew she felt a whole in her heart and being from her past life slipping away, but it was a whole that the Sith could easily make a snug fit. They would come together as a family soon enough, but he knew she had some healing to do first.
The Acolyte moved to the edge of the garden, a box sat comfortably on the grass, the edges of the metallic box slicing through the soil underneath. Raphael unlocked the latches and pulled out a vibro axe of his own, one he was just beginning to become accustomed to. He twirled it around before settling back down in the box to grab another vribro axe, a weapon for the girl.
Turning around quickly, Raphael marched up to the girl holding both weapons aggressively. He looked her wounded body over before throwing the axe down in the grass before her. “Let us begin then,” he stated calmly.
The young man moved to one corner of the garden, a thick tree rooted to the ground in it. Silver eyes looked it over while he gained his newly learned grip upon the axe. Turning back he made eye contact with the girl, “The difference of the force is obvious girl…”
With a momentous swing, he took the blade of the axe and swung it around connecting cleanly with the trunk of the tree. Stepping back he motioned to the girl to take a look. He had only chipped a part of the trunk, splinters spewing from it. Raphael then motioned for her to move back, “Now concentrate within the force… Use your emotions”
A quick and deep concentration allowed him to swing around with his axe again, making contact with it. The axe went cleanly through half of the trunk, allowing it to begin to waver. Raphael walked over to place a hand on it, sending it toppling over outside of the garden.
With a loud thud, dirt kicked up outside of the garden. Raphael looked the girl in her eyes before motioning with his axe the other adjacent tree. “Your turn…Crow,” he slyly stated.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
Kressara was content to stay seated even as Raphael moved about, watching him with curious eyes while he rooted through the oh so mysterious box of pointy objects. What could he be doing now? Hopefully nothing too-
Her thoughts were abruptly cut when the male turned around with two axes in hand and strut dangerously towards Kressara. The girl tensed so hard her healing cuts and scrapes tore on a cellular level, stinging her as she grabbed a handful of loose earth. Raphael sunk the axe into the ground in front of Kressara and her posture relaxed, a breath long and steady flowing from her lungs along with her sudden fear. Kressara hated it, but his unusual behavior was beginning to intrigue her more than it scared her. Were all the sith so eccentric? “Let us begin then.” His words spurred the girl to rise, letting slip the dirt from her fingers. Thankfully she didn’t have to toss it up into his eyes like she’d planned and in its stead she took up the axe.
Across the garden she followed him and stopped before a tree decent in size where Raphael would begin his lesson. She watched him with interest, stepping back as he prepared to swing upon its trunk after imparting his wisdom upon her. A small but sizeable chip. She could do no better in all her years of cutting wood at the farm, but then Raphael seemed to be dissatisfied with the scar he left on its bark. “Now concentrate within the force… Use your emotions” He explained and readied himself to swing again. Kressara watched expectantly and inhaled with surprise when Raphael plunged the axe into tree so violently that it wedged itself within it’s center. With a simple push the tree toppled beyond the garden’s boundaries and let the morning light flood that portion of the courtyard.
“Your turn…Crow,” A new name was graced upon her, strange yet somehow fitting. Kressara liked the sound of it, the smallest hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth when she approached the tree adjacent to Raphael’s. She said nothing and yet the excited look on her face would speak volumes. He had her hooked.
Panting she finally caught her composure and swallowed hard the lump in her throat. Kressara let her muscles go soft and her body relax to which light shivering ensued after such a surge of power left her being. That was the single most empowering feeling she’d ever known. Raphael’s presence reminded her of her own existence once again and as a pleased smile twisted her lips the girl turned to face him.
“...That felt good.”

She raised the axe to the trunk of the tree and steadied it there, taking a deep breath as she let herself feel the force flowing through her. It moved fluidly, without disruption like oxygen through her blood. It was as natural as breathing and when Kressara focused hard enough on exciting that power within her it jumped like a pulse. With further focus on the energy that flickered now, prickling every hair and nerve ending in suspense of a power release, Kressara could realize every fluctuation of it. It rose and fell within her like waves to the beat of her heart and at its highest point she swung the axe! The head of the weapon nicked the wood no deeper than a half inch much to her disappointment. With a sigh she simply accepted the failure and freed the axe from the tree, steadying herself for another attempt. With a second swing nothing changed, only a smaller indention was made. What was she doing wrong? The embarrassment showed on her reddened cheeks and the dejection at failing twice aggravated her to no end...She felt it then, a leap in the force that embodied her. With frustration it grew in strength and unlocked something far more primal than her meditated attempts. Perhaps she was focusing on the wrong thing? Instead of thinking about the way the force moved through her and attempting to fuel her hit from its natural state, she recalled the thorns left in her side from so many bad days prior to this moment.
The memory of loss and pain lit a fire like rage in her core that sputtered to life whenever the agony she’d endured resurfaced within her mind. Kressara closed her eyes and took hold of that anger, inhaling slowly as she felt the force vibrate through the marrow of her very bones in response. She bathed herself in that sense, her sinuses tingling when that familiar feeling clawed for freedom from within the cages of her skull and ribs. It felt as if she were inhaling a tainted smoke, eyes watering from the power that pooled within. Such venomous perfection. Sick, violent, hateful energy ran cold between every skin cell and like electricity it danced up her spine to her optic nerves, eyes shooting open and locking onto her target. It was spiritual, corrupt like a bad religion possessing her very soul and demanding all of what she was for the sake of its survival. This viciousness within her was the sweetest sensation she’d ever felt while still awake and it engulfed her. Like drugs the erratic energy ran through the bloody rivers to her heart and when that wild magic reached a fever pitch Kressara’s entirety snapped. With a growl that almost sounded too inhuman to belong to her vocal chords Kressara’s body reacted and she put her whole being into a swing fueled by this new sacred pandemonium.
The shock of her rapid strike ran up her arms and the muscles of her back shuddered from such raw power. Like superheated steel through ice the axe ripped apart every fiber in its path until the head of it caught just before bursting through the other side of the tree. It was trapped there and with the wild force still possessing every molecule of her being like a legion of demons Kressara unleashed a frenetic kick. The clap of her boot heel against the bark resonated through the garden and with a groan and several snaps of splinters the tree fell hard upon the ground.
The ethereal ritual of aggression now complete within her, Kressara felt that enticing energy drain out from her body like blood fled from fresh wounds. It was freeing and now here she stood all the stronger in the force. Her heart was fluttering like hundreds of corvids flocking inside her chest and a sense of peace from the exertion of rage set those blackbirds free to wander her mind. It was bordline holy the joy she felt at having learned such a technique in control over her own power, and exhausted now she laid it all to rest to rise again another time.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
Raphael looked around as both trees now had smacked the surface of the moon. He had begun to sweat a little, this was probably not his greatest idea while training on his fathers rebuilt moon. The young man would no doubt have to hear it from his father fairly soon. That is, unless he left the scene of the crime right now and fast. Slowly backing up, he edged his way away from the girl who had recently achieved something magnificent.
“Very good,” he nervously stated. “Be prepared very soon, we will pick this up in a few days,” he added.
With that his legs churned into an all out sprint out of the garden and back to his personal resort. He would rest for a few days before preparing a trip of sorts for him and his new companion.
A few days later
Kushiban
In the middle of the forests
-------------------------------------------------
The pair sat around a fire in the dead of night after recently arriving on this lush farm world. They hadn’t been here long, but it was imperative they set up camp for the night so that they might survive till the morning. Traps lined the perimeter of the camp, as Raphael wanted to be a little more conscious on a planet he had never experienced before.
Sounds of wildlife echoed around them as they continued to eat their rations that were stored on the transport ship. It wasn’t much; they would need to find food here soon. Whether it is in the morning or tonight, they would need some sort of nutrition to get them through the next few days. Raphael wouldn’t worry much; he was here to observe more than to do.
It was an important lesson, survival. One he felt imperative that most learn throughout their training. If a warrior didn’t know how to survive, they could find themselves in a dire situation in the near future.
Silver eyes watched her as he awaited some sort of action on her part. He would not move, but rather sit on this stoop till she took some sort of leadership around this situation. He knew if he were to get the best out of her they would soon have to start thinking as equals, rather than a teacher and a learner. The young Sith wanted her to be able to take the lead in certain situations.
Reaching into a pack near him, he pulled out two metallic objects. A lightstaff and a lightsaber, both lightweapons were of the training variety. They would stun but wouldn’t kill unless subjected to intense amounts of stunning. He threw the saber towards her and waited for some sort of reaction.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
She didn’t know it then, but Raphael had ultimately screwed her over by running off like he did in the garden. Just a few nights later Lord Blood had found her and made her regret ever listening to Raphael when he told her to cut the tree down. Kressara had been pretty silent ever since, no eye contact at all for the young prince. She was a scorned woman sitting across the fire from him, simmering in her grudge with a sore ankle that his father was the sole cause of. Making her run through the forest like that in the middle of a tempest...and threatening her life in such a horrible way at that! It was a wretched ordeal for her. Raphael might have found it funny, but his companion was obviously still harboring a thorn in her side over it. Still, she followed him to this vastly overgrown planet and kept her feelings to herself as much as possible, aside from the frown that’d plaster itself onto her face the entire time.
Her survival partner stirred and reached for something, a metallic object being hurtled at her soon thereafter. Kressara reacted quickly and caught it in the palm of her right hand, her left wrapped in a light bandage. From beneath the shadow of her hood and bangs she inspected the weapon before realizing what he’d given her. A lightsaber...it was clearly a training saber, but still the fabled weapon just felt all too right in her hand. At first she didn’t seem to react, only perching by the fire as the shadows danced about her frame, but then she stood. Kressara reached into her pocket for a black strip of cloth and pushed her hood away from her head before her fingers raked back ample amounts of platinum hair at a time. The girl pulled as many of the silken strands back as she could and tied it behind her head in a high ponytail that left her face completely unmasked for perhaps the first time since he’d known her. Beneath all that hair a sharp face hid, her pointed nose, keen eyes, and high cheekbones actually showing now. She removed her jacket as well to increase her mobility and reduce the sound she made, then unbound the wrappings from the small wounds on her left palm.
“I’ll come back...or you can follow.”
And without much else she turned her back to the warmth of the campfire and stepped into the shadows of the forest dark and deep, an unfamiliar change in personality overcoming the girl. With three long strides she went from a grouchy tag along to a hunter, dropping her grudge like dead weight and putting all of her focus on the task at hand. Kressara walked silently through the wild woods with that saber at the ready. She waited to ignite it however, not wanting to spook any potential prey with its sound and glow. This wasn’t her first night time journey into a forest, and it might not even be the most dangerous after what happened last week. The girl could prowl with the best of them, keeping a low profile and picking her steps carefully. Now was the time to utilize all she had learned.
After quite some time of laying low the beast vanished and a Kressara was able to resume her hunt. She slinked through the undergrowth with all her senses trained on the wildlife around her. Then she spotted it, a creature not unlike the poor thing she witnessed suffering earlier. The girl crouched low, readying her saber. With a flick of her wrist the blade screamed to life, spooking the animal.
Kressara bounded through the vines with expert footwork, every graceful collision of her boots against the forest floor carrying her with lengthy strides towards her target. She ripped through viney obstacles with the blade of that saber as she went, careful not to burn herself with the weapon Raphael had given her yet maintaining considerable and constant speed. Tufts of brown fur came into view and the figure of a four legged herbivore imprinted on the girl’s mind. She jumped a low hanging branch and fell with blade in full swing towards a creature that moved in slow motion within her mind. She was like a bird of prey the way she swooped down from above on the timid animal, dangerous, sleek, horribly elegant, and lightning fast! Kressara never felt quite so beautiful as she did when she was in tuned with this primal aggression, every move and breath like a dance to the girl. She was beauty itself in that moment...until the creature’s back feet kicked up with an unforeseen agility and pegged Kressara square in the stomach.
Hacking the girl dropped the weapon from the halt of momentum and felt like every organ inside of her was about to go flying out of her mouth as she was knocked backwards against the very tree limb she’d just so gracefully cleared. The beast scurried away into the underbrush and left Kressara gagging after such a violent jaunting with her butt planting firmly on the ground. She coughed and grasped her stomach, head hung low with embarrassment. Oh how she hoped Raphael hadn’t seen that.

—-{{{{ Force Level 2 APP: 630/200 WC Requirement. Start }}}}—-
With a shaky breath Kressara closed her eyes and tried to sense for life energy in the deep dark woods, recalling the time on Sojourn when she first discovered such an ability was within her grasp. She put her mind to work and reached out in spirit to feel for the life energy of any creatures hidden from her sight, the snapping of a twig echoing loudly in such unnerving silence. Anxiety of what might be lurking beneath the shade of the forest caused her focus to fail her, eyes opening to see a small nightbird breaking off twigs to bring back to its nest. She exhaled and let her shoulders relax, reminding herself that fear could all too easily blind her to both the danger and the beauty of the wilderness. The girl tried once more, this time with a greater focus.
Like mist clouding the damp earth scented air, life energy belonging to all manner of creatures manifested within the range of Kressara’s senses. The force emanated off of living things near and far with smoky radiance and like a sixth sense the girl was able to greater perceive her surroundings with the knowledge it granted her. Insects clung to the sappy bark of the trees, birds settled on high branches for the night, and small rodents slept beneath the grass within their burrows, all their drowsy energy painting the forest in a new light. Life was everywhere and so was the force. It was a great comfort to the young sith who was once so afraid of being lost and alone, a smile creeping onto her face when she realized that with the force she’d never feel that way again. She could feel the very life energy of existence whenever she needed to now, and that would be the foundation of all she accomplished in the many years to come.
Bellowing through the forest a howl that struck fear into the hearts of every sleeping thing sounded and snapped Kressara from her happy thoughts. In the distance a large silhouette leaped with it’s pelt shimmering silver in the moonlight and behind it an even bigger shadow pounced. An apex predator ensnared the throat of some poor grazing mammal and with a sickening crunch it’s life was snuffed out. Kressara sensed the disturbance such violence birthed within the force. The once vibrant life energy of the graceful creature jolted and went rigid as a sickly wound in the nearby force began to fester. Primal aggression of the beast that ended it flooded the sleepy energy of the woods and caused hundreds of little goosebumps to raise on Kressara’s skin. The force cried out to her and all the natural flow she felt before went chaotic like a monitor screen distorting from interference. It was a stark reminder that the force was a living thing and could indeed be harmed by the actions of mortal beings. Kressara let it sink in and relished in the sense of such a disruption. If one truly wishes to know the force, they must also know what it feels like to wound it. Such wisdom would guide her not to act rashly when faced with future decisions to create chaos and disorder, or to simply let things be.
Ducking down below a fallen timber Kressara waited for the predator to finish it’s meal and move on, thinking about her connection to the force and how far she’d come in such a short time. She could sense so much now that she didn’t even know existed before she became a sith. It was empowering enough to instill the confidence within her to finish her hunt without fear. Whatever may come, she’d be capable enough in the force to grow and adapt.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
Thankfully she seemed to be alone after her little hunting blunder, taking a moment to just sit and rest while her body recuperated from being kicked in the gut. Pain ebbed away with every passing minute and eventually her energy returned, but every moment wasted in the wild was a potential chance for something far more powerful to take advantage of one's stillness.
The canine creature shrieked in agony as the burning hot blade of her saber seared the flesh of it’s tongue and throat, cauterizing it’s nasal passage shut. Kressara used the force of it’s lunging to turn the beast over in midair, it’s heavy body crashing with the earth as she leapt atop it’s writhing torso. Kressara kept the blade wedged into its maw with a constant pressure while the monster yowled and thrashed, nearly toppling her in the process before going completely limp as the blade burned holes in the delicate lining of it’s interior cranial cavities. The scent of cooked brain matter and the stillness of the beast signaled her victory. It was a good thing too, because now something else was trudging through the dense flora towards her.

Kressara’s head snapped to the left when an out of place noise crossed her ears. Leaves of the bushes rustled not far from her position as something large stirred about ten yards or so from where she sat. She tapped into the force as everything went silent, attempting to sense for danger by feeling the energy of whatever, or whoever lurked just out of sight. Everything in her gut was telling her that something was wrong about the situation, but Kressara couldn’t seem to decipher the warnings of the force from her own suspicions. The insecurity in her intuition through the force would serve to teach her well the perils of self doubt, for just as she began to drop her guard the underbrush trembled and a black furred blur leapt from its hiding place. Kressara ignited her lightsaber on instinct, it’s hissing to light spooking her attacker which then abandoned it’s charge and fled into the foliage once more.
It wasn’t over. That beast would pounce again. Kressara stayed crouched and tried a second time to sense the moment in which her life would be in danger. The force was stagnant all around her as she put all of her focus onto feeling for the moment when the creature would reveal itself with another attack. Force energy vibrated and danced like a warning bell ringing suddenly. All of the invisible energy around her went tense enough to give the girl a sinus ache, her skin prickling with goosebumps when the force took on such a rigid and unsettling form. It felt like that moment of static accumulation just before a bolt of lightning strikes nearby. Time seemed to slow in that moment and through the force she realized that a dangerous beast was readying for the attack. A surge of urgency overwhelmed her mind and with precognition of the attack Kressara turned towards the beast as it jumped from cover and jammed the blade of her training saber into its mouth, rolling with it’s momentum to flip the beast. She used her connection to the force to sense it’s warning signs, giving her the upper hand and confidence enough to protect herself.

Re: The Existence of Fate [Kressara Training]
A man in hunting gear emerged from the underbrush with a vibroblade and as his eyes fell on the slaughtered canine he cried, “My Vornskr! You’ll pay for that!!!”
Kressara climbed off of it’s corpse and stumbled back with weapon in hand, putting distance between her and the enraged man. She tried to sense for Raphael, even turning to look over her shoulder in hopes that she’d see him somewhere in the forest behind her. No sign of her partner. She was alone with an enemy nearly twice her size who was mad enough to see red.
“I’ll kill you!!!” He readied his blade and ran towards her.
Her vision blurred, skin burning, and body trembling from the rush of chemicals her bout with the hunter caused, Kressara decided it would be best to loot the body for supplies and head back to camp. One more bad incident out in the forest could end in her death, and then what would Raphael do? He’d be stuck alone in the wilderness without a partner to help him survive, not that he truly needed her help, but Kressara felt it was her responsibility to return to him. She kneeled before the corpse of the hunter and rummaged through his pockets, finding a couple ration packets and a spare vial of irritants like the chems he sprayed her with. Nothing else on his person interested the sith who then moved to his Vornskr, a creature that spoke volumes about his wealth and possible criminal history. Those things weren’t so common and judging by the rabbit like pelt on the hunter’s hip, he probably had it sniff out one of the indigenous species...she couldn’t recall, but Kressara genuinely hoped it wasn’t one of the sentient creatures that inhabit Kushibah.
After taking what she wanted Kressara felt her way back down the path of broken branches she’d followed before, smelling smoke on the wind that guided her back to Raphael. Light danced on the trees, seeming only a blob of orange on the black canvas that was the forest thanks to her damaged vision. She knew it was their camp though, for she could feel a presence in the force similar to her own. Smiling the girl wandered out of the forest towards her partner, light bathing the redness of her eyes and nose without the hindrance of her hair which usually hid her face. She looked horrible with water streaming from her eyes and her nose running, like she rubbed her face in something poisonous, but there was a proud look about her despite her wretched state.
“I won…” Was all she stated as she dropped three days worth of rations at his feet.

Kressara tightened her grip around the hilt of her weapon and blocked the attack of her enemy, vibrosword clashing dangerously with the length of her training saber. He outmatched her natural strength with ease and she knew it, but there was one thing she had that her assailant lacked. The force...Kressara called upon the force with her mind and envisioned herself pushing her enemy back before giving it her all in an effort to overpower the hunter. She began to feel a surge of strength from deep within herself and believed she would succeed, until the pressure against her saber vanished as her opponent sidestepped and reached for something below. Before she could right herself a spray of chemical liquid fogged her face and blinded her, burning her nose, mouth, skin, and eyes. Senseless she trapsed away from the place where last she saw him and wiped the stinging solution from her vision to no avail. Anger boiled over within her at the pain of her mistake and that rage allowed the girl to see clearly what her fear once hid from view. The force radiated from within and without as her heartbeat pounded in her ears, that living energy coursing through her veins like adrenalin. It was intoxicating to the young sith and soon enough her anxiety faded into nothingness, replaced with only a primal lust to survive. A shrill ringing of metal alerted Kressara who blindly dodged the swing of her enemy, whipping her training saber blade with a quickness into the unguarded skin of his collarbone. He gagged as the heat of her swing connected to his flesh and reacted with a backhanded strike, but the force gave her the courage and intuition she needed to dance around his counter attack even without her eyes. Now back to back, Kressara flipped the saber around and jabbed him twice from behind. Warning bells through the force went off within her mind again and heeding them Kressara ducked just in time to avoid his retaliation. Blinking she regained a little bit of her vision and rose within his expended arc, lashing the lightsaber upwards across his face. The man screamed and fell backwards with his hands grasping his burned eyes, howling in agony much like his hunting beast had prior. Kressara didn’t hesitate to end his life before he could further endanger hers, and with a silent prayer to the force for the strength of heart she needed to slay her enemy, she came down with her blade upon his throat. One strike wounded him, the second incapacitated him, and countless more ensued before her final attack ended the fight.
The gleaming blade retracted back into its hilt and with it the scarlet light left her in the darkness. Kressara felt the force energy that empowered her fighting spirit slowly even out within her body, leaving behind only exhaustion as it fled her lungs in the form of heavy panting. She survived because of her connection to the force, her ability to live through this sacred energy, and the confidence it gave her to defend her own life. Without it she would have surely died at the hands of the scorned hunter who now lay dead by his pet at her feet. Kressara felt peace wash over her like choir song and her eyes went glassy with tears of euphoria. Once again the force proved to her that it protected those who let it flow through them, a lesson she would never forget.
