Warvanus found himself in the training gym, a place he had often spent honing his skills and increasing his mastery of the Force. In the past he had tried to manipulate the Force. He tried to move objects; he had even tried to manipulate the air molecules around him to try to produce elemental effects. While he had some control on Altering the Force, this was something he needed to strengthen. Practice would make him stronger, and with that he would eventually succeed. He would not stop until he had made some kind of breakthrough. Around the training arena ring which resembled some kind of fighting ring he had weapons, and other items surrounding the center, in which is where Warvanus stood. This aspect of the Force alluded him, he knew it was real, He had read about it. He knew abilities he yet did not possess were fueled by this aspect of the Force. He had a little control on Altering but he needed to improve it. He needed to go outside his zone and explore the Force as it were.
He brought his focus inward, and using his sense ability he extended them his concentrated at first on the blade that laid against a rack in the arena. He concentrated harder exerting his will on this one object. Then he felt it. He had read that using abilities such as telekinesis that you could almost feel the object in your physical grasp. Warvanus gasped a little barely audibly. He finally understood. He closed his will around the object this light, simple blade. He could almost feel invisible fingers grasping around it. He wondered if he could use the Force to levitate the sword. With the thought he committed his focus to this seemingly simple task. The sword did not budge. It barely wiggled. He could hold it but not lift it.

“A small victory” he thought as he withdrew his hold on the weapon.

He would try something smaller. He had read that size limitation was something in the mind. He couldn’t move the object because it was huge or heavy he couldn’t move it because he had yet to be able to unlock the ability. With the Force he narrowed his focus, he needed to try something else. He had seen Lord Blood use the Force to manipulate fire. He remembered on their first spar/duel and how he had barely escaped 3rd degree burns or worse. He stepped out of the ring and approached a table placed against one of the walls of the gym. He took a unlit candle and lit it. The fire danced seductively on the wick. He took a step back and brought his focus on the candle. Like the candle he could feel like he could wrap his fingers around it. But he was not going to try to lift it. Instead he brought his focus and concentration to the flame. Through the force he could feel the flame burning, dancing on it’s wick everything was connected, he marveled at this with every discovery he had made in the Force. He focused on the air molecules feeding the flame. He felt like he was holding two sticks that he could just rub together. Essentially this was the same concept but so much different when not doing it with your physical hands. He concentrated harder willing the air molecules to rub together, to fuel this small flame on this candle. To his disdain there was no visual evidence that he was successful. He did feel it through the Force, though he could not change it or manipulate it in any way. He let out a long breath. Frustration, anger, fury threatened to rise in him.

“Release the beast” his inner voice told him “let it free”

He mentally shook the suggestion off. He would not descend into a blind rage. Though, he did have an idea. He began once again to Focus on the candle, and about to touch the air with those invisible fingers. Instead of trying to feed the flame, he would attempt to pull the heat from the candle. He pushed his will to draw the heat from the flame to himself. The flame briefly flickered and at this he stopped trying. Did it flicker because of his efforts or because of more natural reasons? It was very brief; he would like to think he was somewhat successful

“Another small victory” he assured himself. One thing was different in these efforts that were not present before. He could almost feel himself grabbing the blade, or hovering over the candle. While his attempts did not produce any real breakthrough he would not quit. He knew this aspect of the Force like Sense and Control was a gateway to many new abilities even in combining the use of Alter with either Sense or Control that he would be able to do great things with the Force at his command. This was a basic trait for those who walk in the current of the Force; he had read that some Force users had difficulty when it came to Force manipulation. Though, on the other hand he had taken that first step to better applying this to his training. He had heard through holocrons that it was like an invisible hand or arm almost like learning how to use prosthesis, this analogy now made much more sense to him. He felt like while mostly unsuccessful he did find it easier to try his manipulations. If anything he learned something, He would continue to practice and eventually he knew he would unlock some of the secrets the Force was currently keeping from him.

Warvanus had been busy but he always found time to train and workout, despite Tormentous' absence he stuck to his decree to him in training and doing anyting to hone himself as the ultimate weapon.

Ever since Warvanus had constructed his lightsaber he doubled the time he spent working on his swordplay. He had just finished a very exhausting workout. In his exhaustion he had left his lightsaber on a table that was setup against the wall where he kept his effects for when working out. He sat down as he always did, he had been trying to get this one technique down. It was a basic skill and a critical one. He had been working on this for months with no success but in varying degrees of increasing strength. Today would be no different; he closed his eyes and reached out with the Force, extending his awareness, the floor between him and the table, the table itself, and then his lightsaber. It was familiar through the Force to him. He pressed his will and could feel that invisible hand he immersed his senses on the lightsaber, in his mind he envisioned him holding it and then he willed it to rise. In his mind’s eye he can see the lightsaber hilt shaking, he pushed harder enforcing his will and to his astonishment the lightsaber rose an inch off the table. Surprised rippled through him and he lost his focus and it fell back down to the table.

Slowly he opened his eyes. He had done it. Now he would try even harder. He kept his eyes open now, and reached out his hand, once again delving into the Force that invisible 3rd hand once again on the lightsaber and with his hand he brought it up as if he was beckoning the hilt to rise. Once again the hilt slowly rose an inch. This time he would hold it. He would now try calling it to his hand. He extended his hand palm facing upwards. He pushed his focus to bring the hilt to his hand and the minute he did this the lightsaber dropped on the table.

He was getting angry, he was tired, frustrated, He extended his hand to try again fueling his focus with anger, anger of his failures, anger at the inability to get this technique down. Anger that his Master has abandoned him. Warvanus did not expect the hilt to come flying to him only it wasn’t to his hand, the hilt smacked him right on the forehead, at which it dropped to the floor. He rubbed his forehead; he was bewildered more than anything. What had he done in his anger that brought him success? Then he realized what it was. He was trying to envision it as if a hand brought the lightsaber to his hand. The force was a current. The Lightsaber needed to flow through the current to his hand. The Force was in all things, in between him and the floor, the lightsaber, it was everywhere. He couldn’t believe that he had never thought of it this way before.

He went over and deposited the hilt on the table and went back to mat where he would sit but this time he would stand. He reached out with the force and with his mind he nudged the current that resided between the table and the hilt and he willed it to rise. To his surprise it rose. For a few minutes he held It there. Then the real test he held out his hand and with the Force he visualized pushing the hilt down a river that was the current of the Force and to his surprise the hilt came to his hand. He closed his hand around the hilt. He had done it…..

Three days had passed, he had practiced this over and over and each time he was successful, it was getting easier. Once again the saying that the Force is in all things rang true and applicable. He had been going about it all wrong, envisioning an invisible hand it was only part of it, the realization that the Force is in all things and that he envisioned the currents like a raging river is what gave him success. He had felt like a wall had been breached. This new outlook on the Force held potential, if anything to master this one technique that he had been trying with constant failures. He knew that as he continued to practice telekinesis would become almost effortless to him.

Force Mask Application

Warvanus had summoned his operative Vector to him. For another training session, this one would be two fold for the duo, this would help Vector fine tune his sense abilities and for Warvanus if successful would wrestle another secret from the mysteries of the Force.

When Vector arrived he had told him what they were going to do. He only told him that his ability to sense danger or a presence would be put to the test. In a sense they would be playing a child’s game of Hide N Seek. They both held training blades and told Vector to go find a place to hide. After a couple of minutes Warvanus immersed himself into the currents of the Force. In his mind’s eye he could see his presence, his power radiate from him like an adjustable light. He had found that the same could be done for his presence in the Force as if turning the dial down to that adjustable light, it was a sound theory and idea, now he would put it to the test. For Warvanus it shone like a sun. He wrapped his focus around his perceived aura and pulled that aura in on itself, as if he were dimming a light. He exerted his will with great mental effort to reel it in. He brought it down from a sun brightness to a slight glow, this reduction was a strenuous effort on his part.

Warvanus began walking the obstacle course they were in which plenty of hiding spots were to be had. Because this was his first attempt at such a feat he did not have the mental strength to maintain this and extend his senses so this gave Vector an advantage because he could have the element of surprise but in the same breath Vector should not be able to feel Warvanus’ presence.

Warvanus had wandered deep into the obstacle course slow in his movements and quiet as well. At the last second his danger sense prickled, as out of nowhere Vector lunged out of nowhere with a over the head strike bringing the blade down towards Warvanus’ head. An attack he easily blocked with a well placed strike which sent Vector’s weapon from his hand. He held the blade to Vector’s throat before lowering it.

Well” Warvanus said almost impatiently

I could not feel your presence” he began “until you were about a dozen steps away

Warvanus frowned. It could be counted as a small measure of success but if his senses are still developing it could be that his range of sensing was limited and could mean that it was not successful at all. They exited the course and stood at the entrance.

We will do this again” he began “only I will go out first I want you to focus, concentrate try to feel my presence and if you can make your way to me wait one minute and come and find me if you can

With that Warvanus made haste in the obstacle course, once again he drew his focus inward his will pulled tightly around himself. That sun he perceived as his presence was now dark and as he had been able to pull it more into himself this time he had found his hiding space and waited” He kept a good lock on keeping his presence extinguished and he waited. Warvanus stilled his breathing. Long minutes had passed as he waited finally he could hear Vector approaching. Warvanus was crouched behind a divider that looked more like a thick huge log that stood 5 feet high. With quiet footsteps Warvanus stepped out from his barrier as Vector had walked by and using his training blade extended a jab to the shoulder blades. His jab found its mark and the stun spikes that the blades were adorned with gave Vector a shock.

Vector was breathing heavily. “I did not sense your presence at all , I thought I did in the beginning but then it was as if the trail went cold“ he said

Warvanus lowered his weapon and nodded “Must have been when I thought about extending my senses, the control I had slipped very minute very briefly” he thought to himself. All to which Warvanus just nodded.

What do you sense now?” he asked his operative

Vector thought for a moment. “Nothing, Its as if you are not even here, I don’t sense your presence or the Force, If I didn’t know you I could not tell that you were a devotee to the Darkside” Its as if you were like an average person

This pleased Warvanus. Not only could he hide his presence in the Force but with enough effort he can even mask his leanings. In theory Jedi would not be able to detect his true leanings if he had this power successfully applied. This ability would be very useful indeed. Finally he released the control he was using on keeping his presence in on himself. When he released the hold he found he was tired. That last attempt took a lot out of him, he was exhausted, he needed to freshen up and reflect on what had transpired.

You did well” he said simply, “Go to the Gym and practice your swordplay, then grab a meal and freshen up” Vector bowed his head and took his leave.

Time had passed, Warvanus was sitting in his room fresh from the freshener he was reflecting on what he had done. That first attempt was unclear, but he believed he was successful in a small measure. The second time more successful, the only difference is it took considerable mental effort and control to maintain it. It drained him. He knew that with time and practice this technique would get easier for him and take less mental effort to maintain, in the end this would make him stronger and more dangerous.

Telepathy Req 400 Words

Inside the all familiar training room where both Warvanus and his agent Vector often trained and honed their skills. Vector had displayed a sensitivity to the Force, it was enough to warrant his attention but it was not enough to train him as a full Sith. He would teach him some techniques that would make him a more valuable asset. He would never be able to move objects with the Force but some basic control and sense techniques would elevate him above a normal operative. Vector now stood almost at attention, his arms behind his back, Warvanus standing before him.

He did not say anything to his operative, he simply stared at him. Warvanus opened himself to the Force, he could feel his presence he narrowed his eyes as if in concentration, he sought to touch his mind. He knew he would not be able to manipulate it, though he knew such techniques existed. No his purpose was a necessary skill one his former Master used often. He sought to speak to him through the Force. He had studied about this technique.

He knew he would not be able to speak audible thoughts to his operative, no that feat required a lot of practice. The easiest measure of success would be to plant a simple idea into his operative’s mind.

“I am going to test you, I want you to act on any idea that bubbles to your mind” Vector merely nodded “Yes Milord” he said simply. He had told him early on that he was not his Master but his Superior. With the expectations set Warvanus began the attempt.

He could see Vector’s mind in the Force it was a complex thing, maybe not the thought processes but one new to the arts of mind manipulations and that is what this was. A manipulation, he was going to attempt to communicate through the Force. Warvanus had set a simple suggestion to work, Vector’s mind felt like a ocean of current one he could immerse himself in. In his mind’s eye he repeated the simple phrase “Bow before me” he repeated it in the Force over and over. He could see in his mind’s eye himself standing in the currents of Vector’s mind as he repeated the phrase over and over and over again.

Vector could feel a tugging on his mind. As if someone intruded upon it. Not violate it but he could feel something different as if he was sharing his mind. He did not resist , he did not fight. The impulse he was feeling right now was simple. The impulse to bow before him was overwhelming his mind. Over and over again. Vector sank to his knee and bowed before Warvanus.

Warvanus did not show any outward emotion of pleasure or displeasure. Seeing his operative kneel before him he stopped repeating the phrase as he saw a measure of success. This simple message took a lot of time or so it felt. The length it took was no matter the small measure of success was all that mattered. After a very long moment Warvanus spoke.

Excellent, you may rise” he commanded. Vector obeyed

Again Warvanus sank back into the Force and once again in the mind of his operative. This time he would send the impulse to draw his blade. “Unsheathe your blade” he thought over and over, like before he could see himself standing in the currents of Vector’s mind.

Vector as before felt that intrusion and drew his blade as the impulse was just as strong as it was to kneel.
“Good” Warvanus began “Sheathe your blade” Vector obeyed. He was going to try one more thing. This time he would try to speak directly to his mind, He would only say one word as this feat would take much more effort than the previous two efforts.

Repeat anything that you hear in your mind I will try to speak directly to your mind” With that the all too familiar scene of himself in Vector’s mind unfolded before him. He would speak a word something that he would not think of, something that would be proof that he was successful. The word was simple “Supreme” it was as good of a word as any. Over and over he spoke it he could hear it in his thoughts . He immersed himself into the currents as one would wade in a river. He repeated it over and over.

Vector could hear a word that was not his own voice speaking it was faint, difficult to hear he knew it was there though. He obeyed his Lord and spoke “Supreme

Warvanus came back to himself and for the first time smiled faintly. He was definitely pleased. “Very good Vector” he said “You are dismissed” With that he bowed and left the room.

Warvanus was indeed pleased with himself; he had wrestled ability from the Force. It would be a useful skill he would need to practice this, the ability to project an idea or impulse was the simplest feat, to speak audibly to another’s mind he had read was the most difficult. There were varying degrees of application to this technique. Warvanus knew that planting an idea, or an impulse, to maybe even projecting an image to directly speaking to the mind as if one was having a normal conversation all required various degrees of focus. Warvanus had read about these limitations, He would need to practice; Vector would make a good one to practice on. Vector would later tell him that while he heard his voice it was very faint. The fact he was successful was an encouragement and he would make sure he would practice most earnestly.
