A longing(development thread)

Post by Lady Kota » Thu Sep 14, 2023 10:17 pm

The doors were closed, locked, and with a sign that said if you enter without knocking you will be killed. It was not a threat by any measure, several died making the mistake of opening the door.

*The cold snow fell from the sky as blue children ran and giggled. The city was lively as the chiss went about their day. They were thriving as if nothing happened.*

Memories didn't change the truth with csilla projected in front of her, she missed home. The Imperial reports didn't change her view, she sighed as she sat in her office. Though they were recovering, she knew she'd never be able to return. She fingered the helmet on the desk as she just looked at csilla, missing everything. The feeling that she needed to go home was strong lately, but she knew she needed something else. It wasn't for herself, she continued to finger her helm as she simply watched the hologram of csilla.

A knock came at the door.

She put her helmet back on and turned the display off with the force. The Grand Inquisitior went back to reading the reports. "Enter." She said. She wasn't really reading, just acting like it. They were all the same thing as far as she was concerned. Brutus entered, he seemed stronger in stature. "Sorry to disturb you, but new reports are here." He said giving her the data chip to display.

Taking it she swapped them to see what the issue was. It display the disruption in the eastern areas of the Empires reach, but nothing a simple squad couldn't handle. "A squad and one of the young Inquisitiors will do. If it develops into something else then have them call back. " She said. "Yes Grand Inquisitior. " he said as he turned to leave. "Wait, can I ask you something Brutus?" She asked. He stopped and turned back. "Of course. " he said. "Do you miss your home?" She asked.

Quite an odd question coming from the Grand Inquisitor. 'Perhaps she misses her home?' Brutus thought. Granted he didn't even know where that was, but perhaps it was something that had been troubling her. He looked at her before answering. "Of course, I grew up on Corusant. It's hard to imagine that it's no longer in the Empire's hands. Do you miss your birth home?" He asked.

It was that question that had her thinking about things. She knew where she grew up, Csillia, it had been her home. However she wasn't born there..if anything.. Actually the answer to that was well empty. "I don't know where I was born." She said, a simple yet truthful response. She didn't even ask her father before she killed him and it was doubtful that Rahm knew.

Brutus looked at her with a bit of sadness. 'Thats not what I expected to hear.' He thought. "I'm sorry Grand Inquisitor, but perhaps the files will help you figure it out." He said.

She looked at him, she knew he meant well, but it was highly unlikely that the answer was here. The Grand Inquisitor didn't know where to look to be honest. 'It could be anywhere and it could be no where.' She thought. "Thank you for your time. Keep me updated on the disruption." She said.

Brutus eyed the Grand Inquisitor for a moment. "As you command." He said before leaving. He was concerned about the Grand Inquisitor at this moment, but if she didn't want to discuss it there was nothing that could be done.

She waited for him to be gone, she knew he was concerned. However there was simply nothing that could be done on the matter. The Grand Inquisitor pushed a few buttons to pull up a file. Across the screen was the name Lady Kota and a picture of her face with the file.

History from the Empires perspective. (Requires clearance level 8)
Death, as she was, seemed to appear from no where. She created what would be Shadows. As the founder and leader of the Shadow order, she grew to dangerous. The Empire underestimated force users who were not light or dark. Her ability to sway from one side to the other without a thought made her dangerous. Lady Death was far more cunning than other force users given how young she was. The Empire needed to exterminate the Shadows once and for all to prevent more of them. In an effort to rid of the Shadows the planet Dathomir had to be destroyed. So the Death Star was tested on it, however this only angered Lady Death.

It seemed with the loss of her beloved temple her power seemed to grow. Guided by Darth Diablos, she threatened the entire galaxy. She became more enamored with the dark side. Her use of the dark side was far more chaotic than the Sith, it wasn't something anyone was prepared for. The Dragons were formed, they created nothing but chaos, not caring who they attacked. There was no reason for anything. The Empire aided the Pirates, Jedi, Sith, and rebels in an attempt to end her once and for all. However our actions were futile, as she would survive.

Years later she would return only to focus her anger against the Empire. Strikes against the Empire were precise. We don't know how she knew where to strike, but the effort was flawless, there seemed to be no end to her strikes.

(Classification level 10 required beyond this point)

Silas attacked the Chiss first with biological warfare, then the planet. This only fueled her, though Silas was successful in bringing the Chiss to the Empire. It made Kota as she became more resolved than ever. She became a greater threat and more troubling in the empire affairs. Only later did the Empire know why, it was her home. This is where she hid after the Dragons fell.

However with the rise of our great Grand Inquisitor, Lady Kota is now imprisoned. She is under heavy guard and the strictest of measure.

End file

As Grand Inquisitor she could see everything in the file, though none of it really answered her question. She sat there pondering the answer.

She was puzzled, but she thought to distract herself. 'This file is horrible.' She thought. Pushing a button she made a call down to the file keeper. His image appeared on the view screen. "Grand Inquisitor, may I ask why you called?" He asked. She showed him the file, he could see everything too as he wrote it. "Why is this so horrible?" She asked. The file keeper looked confused. "I thought it was good..." He started to say. "This is hastily put together, it's no wonder the Empire has trouble with capturing criminals. I suggest you start redoing files with better details. I'll take care of this one for you to review and build off." She said then turned him off. She didn't deal with excuses.

After that she began redoing her own file, it was weird but the file should have contained more information anyways.

(Requires clearance level 8) history
Death was 23 at the time, when she appeared from no where it seemed. She began by creating the order known as the Shadows. These were strange force users at the time, they thrived on both sides of the force. This made her dangerous, her ability to draw from both sides in a moment makes her unpredictable. Death began to train more like herself, expanding the Shadows. One such apprentice was Xavius Bann, also one to become equally dangerous. *(Footnote to Xavius file). Lady Death was far more cunning than other force users given how young she was, she seems to have a knack for seeing things others don't.

The empire underestimated the Shadows and her, as any encounter with her ended in failure. An end needed to be put to her , but it would have to be an extreme one, as all attempts had failed. So approval was made to construct the Death Star *(Footnote to Death Star file) Upon completion the Death Star was tested on Dathomir, this destroyed the planet, and only angered Lady Death.

The shadows would continue to thrive in the Zonama Sekor. *(footnote to The Shadows file) Lady Death however would not follow them. Be it our own mistake or under estimation, a man named Diabolus would get to her first. *(footnote to Diabolus file) This oversight would become a dark time for the galaxy as he turned her anger into pure chaos.

We ignored it at first, concentrating our efforts on ridding the galaxy of the Shadows. However she wouldn't remain a simple minor threat. The Dragons were formed, the chaos the two of them caused was enormous, it seemed like they had access to funding from no where and it was never ending. *(footnote to the Dragons file) Striking alone was an issue as previous attempts were swatted away like tiny bugs.

Their use of the darkside was far more chaotic than the Sith and was far more dangerous than the galaxy had imagined. They created nothing but chaos, not caring who they attacked. There was no reason for anything. The Empire aided the Pirates, Jedi, Sith, and rebels in an attempt to end her once and for all. We were wrong.

She would return, however claiming something was coming, the vong. As she was attempting to build forces against this enemy. Kyrnn karn would also fall into her hands, perhaps this is what made Silas angry, one can't say. *(Footnote to Krynn's file.)

*(Required level 10 clearance beyond this point)
The red plague would be developed and used on the Chiss as the galaxy went to war against the Vong. *(Footnote to the Red Plague) During the battle she would be captured, it's unknown what happened during this time. Countless lives were lost, this only fueled Lady Kota's anger. The Chiss had been Lady Kota's family apparently for countless years, so taking their lives had pushed her.

She began to strike from everywhere on everything. During this time Silas sought to bring the Chiss under the Empire. *(Footnote to Silas file) We took control of the Chiss home world. After this her name changed for some reason during this time, it's unknown why. Something shifted with now Lady Kota, it's unknown what.

She paused as she got to the last part of the file. The file keeper had put down captured by the Grand Inquisitor. Carefully she removed her helmet, seeing herself in the visor, a realization dawned on her. Her grip tightened on the helm, before tossing it across the room. Kota might not have been in prison but she might as well be, she was a prisoner and that made her mad. Anger swelled within her, but she didn't lash out. She collapsed to the floor, sitting arms around her knees, and she began to cry.

Brutus was reading a data pad on the latest efforts, when he felt it. 'Grand Inquisitor.' He thought. He dropped what he was doing and headed back towards her, his hands on his hilt, something was wrong, terribly wrong.

*music to: All out of fight, by Pink*

She cried like this was the first time she had ever cried, she simply couldn't control the tears.

Brutus opened the door, normally he'd knock, but he heard crying. He saw the file open, nearly falling over her helmet as he tried to rush over. He stopped when he got to her, his hands went to his weapon.

Lady Kota simply continued to cry as he watched, his eyes went from her to the file illuminating on the table. His mind was trying to process what was happening, he heard more guards coming to help. Brutus moved to intercept the door and close it, he was on the outside. "She'll be fine, I have it." He said to the squad. "Are you sure?" One member of squad asked. "Yes no one is threatening the Grand Inquisitor." He said.

After the squad left he re entered the room and closed the door. Carefully he picked up the helmet, he went to the washroom and picked up two towels. One he carefully wet down, the other remaining dry. Using the force he pulled up a chair as she cried and he sat there waiting."

The initial beeping of the long-range holotransmitter integrated into the Grand Inquisitor's chambers likely went unnoticed amidst emotional tumult. Without warning, blue light burst from the main emitter, shimmered for a moment– then faded again. This process repeated several times, until the outline of a humanoid shape gradually solidified. "Your Eminenc–", a garbled voice cut through the silence, its half-formed owner waving an arm desperately hoping it would somehow improve the signal, "C–a–n you hearrrrrrr–". The feed cut again. Some minutes passed before it finally returned.

"I don't care if the grid for the rec center goes down for the week!, the voice from before hissed with greater clarity, "Rout every volt of auxiliary power to this terminal– now!". A cloaked figure in uniform steadily materialized in full, his parade dress whipping haphazardly around in an obviously strong gust. "I must apologize", the recognizably male voice continued, "We've been stuck in this blizzard– three days– only spot with a strong enough signal". The holotransmitter, of its own volition, recalibrated the brightness and exposure of the feed, rendering the speaker unmistakable.

Doren Vassyl, formerly of the 3rd Fleet, and Governor of Pho Ph'eah for what had been several cycles now. His current post along the Hydian had undoubtedly aged him. A handful of smaller scars now lined his features in tandem with older, more pronounced wounds– and his beard, normally well-kept, had grown longer and bushier. The governor's eyes, however, snow-blasted and ridden with fatigue, still possessed that same youthful glow from his captain years. Doren's first meeting with the enigmatic individual hailed as the Empire's champion had seemed a lifetime ago when their office had contacted him out of the blue.

Vassyl was genuinely happy to be called upon by a comrade in arms on whom he looked fondly. That said, when the scene in her quarters finally registered back on his end, a chill struck him harder than any Ph'ean wind. Doren had seen still images, holophotos of a certain... not-unrelated person. A person whom public archives had been specifically instructed to declare deceased. It was entirely likely that the governor had never seen his colleague unmasked until this present moment. What was more unbelievable was the obvious distress in their posture, face, and general composure.

For all authority, poise, and training, Doren was caught completely off-guard. Even behind the hail and facial hair, his alarm was impossible to disguise. He was no counselor– had no strategies to soothe from so far a distance. What Vassyl did know was his distant colleague's ruthless efficiency, their powerful work ethic, and a consistent drive to see matters through. He would not dare to presume a desire for comforting unless it was requested. So then, the only avenue that remained was to get down to business. "My apologies again for the delays, Grand Inquisitor", Doren addressed in loud, clear tone while sweeping his hand up into a firm salute, "How may I be of service?"...
