The Dragon & The Wolf (Slade/Blood)

It was night; for once the air was lighter, cooler even. Warvanus stood in a room illuminated by candles. It was almost like a gazebo but it was larger than a standard size one. He stood his back facing the building that was behind the gazebo like structure, he was gazing out into the water. The slight cool night breeze dancing on his skin he rather enjoyed this temperature. He wore a loose sleeveless shirt, black loose fitting pants, boots, lightsaber clipped to his side. He had a lot on his mind. He was trying to come to terms with something.

Something was eating at him and he did not know exactly the source or better yet how to vanquish this nagging. Maybe it was the events on Galfaar, the revelations that were presented to him that he did not want to believe but at the same time rang of truth.

The Force had been silent when he had meditated on his troubles. What angered him more was he could not remember so he could not confirm or deny things. He had half a mind to return to Galfaar to bomb it into dust.

Sith Lords of the past had moments of crisis, even the one Sithari that history remembered as Darth Bane had even shyed away from the Darkside during his training. Warvanus’ problem partially was the opposite. He yearned to be closer to it, to grow in power and strength, and by doing so he could rise in the ranks of the Empire.

He needed guidance, he needed a steady Master. There had been more whispers of his former Master Tormentous ‘whereabouts he had yet to come face to face with his former Master. That day he surmised was coming soon. He had accepted Lord Blood’s offer and yet he was still left to his own devices because of his stage of development which he did not grudge the extra freedom but he lacked a proper guide in wrestling the secrets and mysteries from the Force. He needed belonging, he needed a purpose, if he had neither then he was expendable. He had no military might, just the powers he could summon.

He knew that he barely scratched the surface with the Force , he yearned to learn more of its secrets to bring his enemies down , to terrorize, to conquer in the name of the Empire, all these things burned in his blood. As now did the desire to heal his fractured mind. While he deep down desired that he was very hesitant in encouraging any form of healing.
In short he was lost, without purpose, he felt stagnant and he needed guidance.

[OOC] I'm gonna speed this up to current date so we can keep our chars well and in tune with each other. Don't want that much time lapsed where we didn't explain anything, or to be too far behind.[/OOC]

Blood felt that silence engulf him, drowning out his senses, his perception of reality completely voided out into nothingness as he traveled through the shadows of Sojourn. Walking from shadow to shadow, the man stalked through the moon's resort's shades, being that sleight of darkness that just barely seemed to move on it's own compared to the rest of the night's hidden figures. As massive as he was now, broad and unbelievable scaled body, standing well at 7 feet tall. Bulk covered him near as a Massassi would have been, yet more aligned, more natural, despite the lies of anything 'natural' in pertinence to him. His hair was still falling out, strand by lock, until all that remained was nothing but scaled over skin. Hands were sheathed not in warm mortal flesh, but that which was nearly identical to Wrath's own, his cursed Arkanian mount. Feet too no longer fit in any of the shoes he once had; they bore claws that could easily gut a Krayt dragon if he kicked hard enough. They remained quiet over the grass, and even more silent as he yet again slipped into the Void.

It wasn't until he came upon the thread of his other student, the all too familiar Kell who had transitioned into a fine becoming of his name. There was still plenty more room for him to fit into the title which spoke of the craft and destruction of men, but felt this expanse troubled the man he tracked. Warvanus was burdened by insecurity, and it felt so much akin to the last breath's of Slade's own existence. The 'not knowing' of something, the need to simply be told what was what. Warvanus was lost, and Blood felt the instinct kick in immediately to show the man insight. Yet first, the Draconian needed answers.

As the elements provided, Blood absorbed the energy both around him, and within him, as he took on the visions within his mind. He remembered that fateful day when Slade was cast away, and Blood was given his first breath of life. He remembered that day when Slade was questioning the very sin Blood found himself sinking further and further into. And he remembered the man who gave him purpose, who instilled discipline in him. Almost as though he could reach out, and just feel Tormentous. To surpass that, and just be within the magnificent malevolence of torment, incarnate. To wear that skin-...
And so it became.

Crawling up that scaled form of his, a whirl of onyx smoke heated the air around him, covering the entirety of his body as he focused harder on that palored flesh, that hairless head, that rebreather, that single pearled-over eye which seemed to be even more keen than the one which was unblinded. That armor, the Eradicator series set which kept him looking so majestic and poised, so dangerous and untouchable. The cloak forever around those shoulders which could power blows capable of killing in single strokes. That form of cool wrath, untouchable intellect, and silence contempt for all around him.
The smoke stuck to him before dissipating all together, and in it's place stood Tormentous, the Dark One, and the most triumphant Darth Lord of the Sith.

Forward Tormentous strode through the grass, metallic boots smashing grass with no care in the world for whether it lived or died. He was here to test his last Apprentice, as he needed to know exactly who's side of the fence Warvanus stood for.

Through the light of the gazebo, that gleaming armor winked before the iridescent milky white eye met the face of Warvanus. With it paired was the unchanging acidic yellow that was internally rimmed with that crimson, speaking vilely of the alignment within the Force that this man had chosen. Leather gloves creaked only just as Tormentous pulled his arms behind his back, confidence more subtle in poise than in aura, as the Dark Side radiated from the man as though he were a festering infected wound in the Force, himself. A god among men, he was, and he gloried in his might. Any who stood against him had best be ready for their utter annihilation; and it seemed he had to find which Warvanus had chosen for his flag to wave. It was clear the man had been busy, and all too evident was the brew of storm on his mind that it was near spoken aloud.

Tormentous however, remained silent, as he waited for Warvanus to address Him.

Nighttime on Sojourn on a night like this was something Warvanus found tolerable. So much had happened. He had learned where he had come from even though he had no memory of it. It did not define who he is or even who he was, but it was good to know where you came from. Where your roots lied. He did indeed have a storm brewing in his mind. He had found himself restless, he was coming to terms with things, things he felt no deception but things he had to come to terms with. He had been struggling with his training but as of late he felt as If he had a breakthrough. It was a different approach in using his powers. He had felt as if he had seen the Force in only one dimension, now since that meditation on his rooftop he had felt as if a whole new dimension was revealed to him.

He felt someone standing behind him. The presence felt off but if It truly was who he thought it was, it couldn’t be though. His hand for a brief instant lowered to the hilt of his lightsaber but quarter way through the gesture he stopped. He still did not turnaround. It was as if he was trying to decide to trust his senses or challenge them. On one hand he could swear that he felt the presence of Darth Tormentous, he had felt it before recently but it was a ruse. He fell for it once , he would not fall for it a second time. Though it did feel off, he had thought briefly that he felt Lord Blood. It could be he was near. Murmurs through the moon had come to his ears about an accident and the death of his fellow Acolyte Fox. He did not really know Fox but he had liked him enough.

Slowly he turned around, and indeed it appeared he stood before him. He had issues with the former Dark Lord. He had afterall abandoned him, but there was a time and place for everything and right now it did not feel like this was the time, especially as he was not entirely sure if the being who stood before him was indeed Tormentous.

He bowed his head “My Lord” he addressed him such, while he had his issues he respected his prowess as a warrior, as a Dark Lord, he was the one who had unlocked the door to his path of power. The Strong ruled the weak he had often told him, one of the first lessons he had drilled into him. He chose his next words carefully as again he was still not entirely convinced, while everything before him suggested this was his former Master his gut was throwing up a red flag.

“Is it really you” he asked, his voice flat, almost monotone with some awe mixed in, he had been fooled once and it almost costed him his life, and he just could let the feeling go. If this was truly him then he had a million questions

The Illusion stood motionless as only his eyes addressed the knelt Warvanus. From a recollection of memory, Blood through the sounds of voice together, mimicking the unhindered pride Tormentous boldly pushed through his lips.

"I sense the detest in you. I sense the pain and the scorn. But yet the submission remains. Release it all, Warvanus. Release it, and show me how much you've learned."

It could have been an insult; Blood knew Tormentous hadn't had much time on raising him, just as he hadn't had much time personally with his more successful Apprentice. It could have mean Tormentous was confident in his ability to strike War down in a matter of seconds. But it also could have been a compliment; Tormentous could have been just as easily saying he knew Warvanus would take the initiative of learning in stead of his personal absence. It was a double edged sword, and just as the Jidai Maras, it held much more meaning than met the eye.

That heavy gloved hand rested on the mighty sheathed sword, the sword who took to whispering dismay and unending torture to any ears and hearts within it's presence. However, all of it wasn't real. And the strain was going to approach him soon. Best he addressed this with the chance he had. Both of his dragonfang sabers were grabbed in one gigantic hand, and activating the both of them, he imitated a two handed weapon, as 'Tormentous' took free his Sith Sword.

And in the ready stance, he stood.

He looked at his former Master his eyes narrowed , his mouth snarled as he spoke “Do not mistake respect for submission” He had detest, as well as anger, and even hatred, he was a storm of emotions and the time had come to show him what he took from the Force. He overall did well for himself but with a proper teacher he could have been even more. He had devoted all his time into training and practice, he had so many other teachers such as experience and failure. Teachers he had but no guide. Outside of Lord Blood who left him to his own devices, he knew he had others who needed him more but that still did not quell the rage that he felt and now would unleash on the culprit.

His hand went to the hilt of his lightsaber, he unclipped it and activated it as he also raised his mental defenses (Force Shield) he wouldn’t be bested by sloppiness. “You left us to rot” still in that same snarl “You left me to fend for myself a bare neophyte in the Darkside, you opened the door to the path of power and for that I am forever grateful” he paused and his voice lowered into something ominous “but I will never follow you again”.

He circled his former Master, mentally he was prepared for this confrontation, had been for a long time. He gathered the Force to himself, that storm of emotions fueling his command of the Dark side. The lightsaber in his hand he was very intimate with, he had constructed it on the Wrath, which was commanded by the former Dread lord Kroxota. He had spent so much time training with it, with and without the Force, dueling with it, and with each session he got better in both victories and defeats he took what he learned from those battles and applied it to his own style and technique in time it became an extension of him. He was proficient in the lightsaber arts.

He unleashed a feral primal scream one filled with hatred, anger, resentment and detest as he charged at his opponent in a fast stride bringing the lightsaber straight out as if in a stabbing motion. The sequences were easier to execute than it had been before, not only easier but he got better, as he tightened his form and became less sloppy in his attacks and movements. Through physical training and practice he now moved faster in his attacks. His lightsaber was a red blur, He was no longer the neophyte novice who held clumsily the training lightsaber. When the attack was blocked, he felt a nudge in the Force, submitting to its whim he spun clock-wise with speed as he brought his lightsaber into a downward arc aiming for the right knee of his former Master the strike was fast and hard as he put his brute strength into the attack as he switched to Juyo, known for its ferocity.

With each attack he snarled and with each swing he poured more brutish strength into it, it was like he wanted to end him, and not only end him but mutilate his remains. “Tormentous” was the ultimate test, he was a Master and he still knew though the thought was deeply buried that he would best him, but he was not going to make it easy by any means. “It was Lord Blood who taught me” he began “It was Lord Blood who made sure I was not killed by some predatory Sith Lord, It was Lord Blood that pushed me to be better, who guided me” each word was filled with contempt. “And it’s Lord Blood who I now follow, who I have sworn a oath of fealty, an oath I will not betray to you or anyone else” As he told his former Master these things it dawned on him that he had a proper teacher, His methods unorthodox but he grew and learned so much under Lord Blood. He would not betray the pack. The Lone Wolf was Lord Blood’s to command.

-----------Master Saber App--------

This was not only a test for the oldest initiate of Blood's, but one for the Dragon Tamer, himself. He was at a time where he needed to be able to prove he was worthy of saber use. He would need to show he was not only able to effectively wield the light weapons as someone of his skill would, but to enhance and master the art itself, along with use of the Force in a cohesive duo of power. He had to maintain his ability within the Force while crossing blades with another, and keep the pair separate by action, but together in intent.

As he listened to Warvanus make his claim, internally Blood felt his relief; Even against Tormentous, War would represent his name. But he had to continue this façade, so that relief he felt was not tremendous enough to shake the Illusion. Instead, Blood flipped the switch of his own power, and internally he relinquished all of his worry to the terrific hunger of the Dark Side. With it, he fed upon his opposition's internal indignation, holding within their bond all the secrets of self renewal. Within their connection, Blood felt the clarity rain over him that he knew would see him reach his goal. He felt the manifestation of Control as it rose within him, flooding his body with adrenaline and excessive power. It spread from his core throughout his limbs and increased his perception, his reflexes and Danger Sense warning of the spear of saber launched directly at his midsection. His parry came to deflect the saber, and as it did, his mind worked to imitate the sounds of saber meeting metal as opposed to more searing hot plasma. It was a conflict of the two mental hemispheres, and they naturally conflicted with each other. However with the forceful flex of his will sought purchase, and the illusion became much more vivid as his 'metallic boots' reacted with purely skilled footwork while dodging the pissed Initiate's advances. Blood not only watched but felt the difficulty grow as Warvanus' own skill began to shine through. Blood felt the timing constraint on seconds before he could be put on the offensive, but as that second came to pass, Blood threw forth his own execution. Knowing he had to keep himself in a strict wrap of the Dark Side while forbidding it from fully controlling and engulfing him, he swapped his defense to Niman, form Vl, easily recognizable as the fighting style Exar Kun overall mastered. This gave his defense a boost and his attacks, though average, gave him ample room to step back and see exactly how much he had to replicate of each move to keep a toned balance both in mind and body. However, with needing to finish this battle without killing the loyal Initiate, Blood swapped his maneuvers to that of Makashi, or form ll.

Swapping forms gave him a bit more advantage in this battle, as his footwork and fluidity increased, and though Tormentous was not an elegant swordsman, he was a wise one. One against one in swordsplay, Makashi reigned supreme as it focused on trapping the opposition in a variety of moves, footwork and base balance almost giving the Dragon King as much as an advantage as a tail would. He was grounded, yet agile, as Tormentous had proven his own style to be, powerful and intensely focused. A defensive spin removed 'Tormentous' from the downward slash meant to disable him from the knee, and again he found balance both in body, and in the momentum it posed in the Force. As he spun, the movements of both he and Tormentous were one, and there was no falter in his poise. What was believed the be the ripple of Tormentous' cape was in fact the ends of a long tail jutting out from the base of Blood's spine. Both flourished as he saw this battle formulate in his mind and carry over the tremendous weight of retelling it through the illustration of a completely different reality.

Another thing he was well aware of was Makashi's concentrated ability of disarming the chosen opponent while avoiding disarming, themself. Allowing that to be the guiding mindset of his, Blood kept his awareness on the brutish bashing of Warvanus' own tactics. As he danced to and from the inner and outer range of the garnet saber, Blood kept his eyes on the hilt of his Initiate's saber. It was more often than not where he had to reestablish his grip on the Illusion, but he managed to catch it within seconds of his concentration of the physics slipping. With every parry and every swiveled pirouette, the Sith kept himself professionally out of the 'Bringer of War's reach for a lethal blow. Blood felt even more of a connection with his blades since they were clasped together, and that made him momentarily wonder why he hadn't chosen a single blade as opposed to dual wielding. Despite his ponder, his heart and head remained in the battle he was currently locked in. And just as effectively, his Illusion did not deter, even as he and Warvanus were locked in a tangle of blades.

The upper recoil of the 'Jidai Maras' and the crashing down of it's own swipe was in his mind as he executed it, the infernal sword screaming through the voices of millions in anguish and unending agony as it hungered to add Warvanus to the horde of damned souls. The metal hissed menacingly as it glanced across the defensive stance of War, and just like that, it retracted back into defense, parrying and blocking as he reserved his body's energy while keeping in tempo his Force's capability. The defense became more and more effortless, and Blood began to find that sweet medium that was reserved just for him between mastering his Force adaptability and mastering his comfortability with using his Sabers. Though he was more used to Jar Kai in stature of dueling, shifting to test alternate forms while maintaining control of his Force power and gauging between how much and how little energy to use, the Sith Lord found himself growing much more confident in his abilities. As he defended against another one of War's brutish slashes, he focused on making a newer approach just to try his abilities further. Maintaining the control over his weapon's sweep to meet the searing red of Warvanus' weapon, his voice came through as that ominous boom of baritones that very few were graced with hearing before they were sentenced to either servitude or death.

"The Lord you follow still resides his heart, mind and body to my will. You follow a pawn, Warvanus...and your tactics of attack show just as much. Another Kroxata who can not forge his own path. He remains aimless, just as your own strikes!" Blood growled in those eclipsed words, the heat of the words steaming through the imaginary rebreather's slitted openings. Blood purposefully insulted the Initiate as to enhance the both of their Dark Side relation. Dun Möch as it was known, and Blood knew well enough the power anger could evoke in the both of them. Warvanus would surely respond as any opponent would, and whether it was through words or actions, Blood found himself setting into the form he felt himself growing most comfortable in through his months of training in it...

Form V, or The Way of the Krayt Dragon. This Form he had reserved for the very final bout of this battle, this test to be the win or loss of his perseverance. This particular sect of djem so was the form he had found most solace in, as finally the energy he had reserved and accumulated between every block and lock of blades with War had been trialed against his ability to endure it all. And after the bide of time, Blood released it all.

Unfurling his weight, he no longer kept himself grounded as a tank would, but he began an immediate assault upon Warvanus in a manner of fury from the retort by the Initiate. Though it was expected, Blood knew well enough how to immerse himself in the heat of the combat in as his perception of reality became comatose. Even more fluid, his mind passively kept the Illusion going as Blood felt himself fall further into the fantasy of how Tormentous would truly have reacted. Majestic and powerful, just as he imagined it, Blood and Tormentous in his mind merged, and Blood almost couldn't tell the difference between he and the Dark One as he fought through the tunnel of inner rage, rage that wasn't even his personally, nor meant for him. He felt the union, and transcended into that harmony of Blade and Force, the unity of all three heads of the Force, Control arcing his limbs and core as voracious lightning would, empowering this body with the ability to crack armor, to break bones, Alteration working as not only his cover but his callous harbinger while he cut through air with a heated vengeance, while he pushed Warvanus more and more into exertion, Sense as he felt not only the heavenous waft of heated air betwixt the two as they combatted each other, but the world as he knew in his heart Tormentous saw, felt, heart, smelled, thought. He was the relic of Tormentous', but he had mastered himself, himself. And at this moment, he felt not as an animal would, but a god. Nothing could step to him and succeed, nothing could strike him down, for his reflexes were perfected, his mind was whole, multitasking, and unbreakable. He was powerful, and without warning, the Sith Lord rose with a leap that promised pain, and proceeded to dominate Warvanus in "The Falling Avalanche" as the 'Jidai Maras' smashed down the Initiate's saber, finishing this duel, and bringing the Lone Wolf to a kneel.

Blood had not only persevered as the Form studied and equipped promised he would if used properly, but he found which form he found himself best suited for. The didn't need to be so mobile with one opponent, and as he stuck it out finding that out, he learned and found himself at the peak of performance in the dual of swords. He knew afterwards he would have more practice to address any weaknesses he would find in this form, but overall he was elated he made it through this session without dropping his Illusion, and even more pleased he could use his opponents own internal conflict as his power to sustain the energy used to keep such a Force Power controlled. There was much more to learn from this day forward, but Blood felt himself hit a cap on his knowledge in this field, and it only lead to many more hosted opportunities in the future.

------------------------End of Master Saber Combat------------1811/1000 WC-----------

This was his expected performance when it would come time to face Tormentous, and such a thought almost brought a crease to his smooth façade, but the Force Master calmed such slaved vision with mental shake. He wasn't ready, just as Kell was not, either. But in the end, none of them truly were...

They just had to accept that.

As the saber of Warvanus' once again came to meet Tormentous' lowered blade, Blood brought the element Warvanus would recognize into play. Throwing his left hand to aim at the ground between them, Blood released a surge of flames onto the grasses of his precious moon's pasture, and though the grass didn't burn, it surely held those flames. The smoke from such a terrific barrage engulfed Tormentous, and the ebony smoke inhaled the Dark One, but as a second passed, Blood walked through the smoke, and onto the inflamed grass. Blood was undoubtedly a sight to see, a monstrously heighted demon of obsidian blacked scaled flesh, eyes sunken into dark caverns of sockets overshadowed by horned browline. He was wearing a front and back loincloth, basic and black, but ornamental in fashion as his back's strip hung slightly against grass in a minor train. The majority of it covered the thick and reptilian tail that only just peeked past the end of the train in a horned point. His muscles ran a ravaging path through his body, and he stood a terrific 7 feet tall on legs that were the trunks of small trees. Clawed feet dug into the flaming grass, and clawed massive hands held those familiar sabers whose hilts were the obvious bone and scale of a slain dragon a far while back, fanged at both hilts. A dual pair of horns struck from both fronts of Blood's forehead, curling up like the tusks of a War Behemoth. Across the broad immensity of his back, between both shoulderblades were a forming pair of wings, appearing to be leathery and stuck to his back as they formed on their own.

Looking down at Warvanus, Blood stared at his trialed Initiate through the flicker of flames, and said in a solemn voice...

"You have passed the Test of True Loyalty. Standing against even the most powerful of Force Users, you lay your line on the line in my name. This is what makes you worthy, and let no one, not even Tormentous himself, tell you different."

Blood was proud of Warvanus. This was who he truly was, and the Sith Lord knew he had atleast one faithful soul to follow him to the end of the Void and back.

Resume Skillful LS Combat App

The more the duel went on the more and more Warvanus surrendered himself to the will of the Darkside. It was guiding his attacks the force being more relied on in his swordsmanship than the physical senses as it had been in the early days of using the light weapon. It was A feat that was the fruit of hours of training and practice, a feat that told his opponent that he was a skilled combatant. He was moving his lightsaber in measured strikes and parries, movements that at one time seemed impossible for him to make or make with any kind of effectiveness, His skill and command of the lightsaber was always growing, in knowledge and experience, both valuable teachers. He always took new knowledge into himself with every duel, and battle he was in.

The spar between his former Master and Apprentice was more like a dance than a fight. The lightsaber feeling natural in his grasp, no longer clumsily or meekly gripped but a true extension of himself, his footing even, his movements fast and strong, he had the lightsaber in both hands as he had unleashed his fury on his former Master, with every single duel he had learned and gained experience. He had committed himself to be proficiently equal in all the forms and recognized his opponents move to Makashi, it caused the brutish Sith to change his own tactics and went from Juyo or Form VII right into Ataru or Form IV. It focused on fast strong attacks. Each swing at Tormentous’ sword he struck with brute strength and a snarl. His form was tight, elegant, swift, and brutal. His attacks and his defense were measured and precise, no flourish movements no brandishing, every strike and block spoke to his opponent, and that message was he was all about business, that his technique was adaptable, that he was comfortable and that he was confident in his skill.

He observed “Tormentous’” movements he was a Master swordsman and the fact that he was not destroyed spoke volumes to the growing evolving skill of his last apprentice. Neither one gained the advantage as the duel continued on as he blocked, parried and in some cases dodged his opponents attacks Warvanus was learning , he had a sense that he was a bit distracted or maybe he was just toying with him, like a predator before killing his victim.

He knew “Tormentous” was getting desperate as he resorted to baiting him, he would not rise to it with words. Though, the ferocity and intensity of his attacks grew even stronger, his attacks faster. He was not like Kroxota, he was not aimless, he was his successor as the time of the Dreadlord had come and gone it was his time now. He would surpass him. Just like Tormentous was no longer the Dark Lord his time too had passed it was Lord Blood’s time, his rule, his leadership which would bring the Sith to glory. Through the Force his fury rose even hotter, making his focus even sharper.

“Tormentous” had switched forms again, He countered by sinking into Form III or Soresu, focused on defense which was all the War bringer could do as he was now strictly on the defensive. With each swing he expertly blocked, with less than a second to block the next attack, the Force flowing through him like a river as it was the only way he could have survived that onslaught. He held his own, until the final move that even though he blocked it put him in a kneeling position. He used his brute strength to rise to his feet while remaining locked on his blade. He brought his blade down low for another attack but he immediately jumped back as the ground in front of him burst into flames.

One thing the Lone Wolf with Cobra like tendencies learned in this duel, was that he had come far however, he still had much to learn. He didn’t realize just how worn out he felt as body conspired against him as weariness and fatigue set in.

He watched the flames engulf his opponent the sweat pouring off his face, not from the flames but the battle he just participated in. When the flames died down he saw a creature emerge from it, through the Force it was Lord Blood but he had changed dramatically. He lowered his lightsaber and powered down the blade. The dark side had made its mark on the Sith Lord a physical manifestation, an honor in the opinion of Warvanus, a sign of Blood’s favor with the Darkside. At the sight of Lord Blood he kneeled and addressed him in a way he had never before.

My Master” he said his head bowed.

He had never addressed him as such before, but he was, not only did he follow his banner, and was a part of the pack, he alone had helped forged Warvanus into the weapon he was. He looked up at him as he spoke. He sensed his favor on him. He had passed the first trial. Like the Jedi were put on trials before Knighthood, he had just passed his first trial, on the path to Lordship. Through it all he did not realize how heavily he was breathing, a bi-product of the battle he was just in. He would follow him till the end, or until he would do as all Sith apprentices do, and challenge their Master for superiority, maybe one day or not at all until otherwise he would follow him to the end.

He had felt like he had taken a new step in his training.

Time had gone effortlessly by as Blood had continued his training with Warvanus. Much more was the man being groomed into something worthy of the title Tormentous had given to the last apprentice of his, and it was only rightfully earned by the multitude of trials between the pair. Days bleed into weeks, and weeks scabbed over into months. But the scar that remained was beautiful, and that very scar was Warvanus. Time was well spent in it's brutality, and the raven-haired frosty-irised man came through with every challenge issued.

Upon this time, Blood stood on Sojourn, looking down to the planet which it orbited. He hadn't gone through with trying to find exactly what temperament the planet was under, nor the extent of how severe such a world was. Also, with such cloud in the way, Blood couldn't see much of the planet, either way. He hadn't cared much of it, as long as it had nothing to do with his Sojourn.

Warvanus was more than likely on the moon as well, tending to his trainings as the Sith Lord looked down at his creation from the mountains. The gorgeous resort and it's lavish array of animals. Gualara which were roaming gracefully in their pastures, the croaking of other reptiles, and the silent swoops of the animals which came to snatch up those which were too loud in their songs. Nothing changed here, other than the moon seeming more and more beautiful as time ventured past. Internally, Blood was proud of his major craft of this moon, breathing life back into it as he had spent a grant sum to terraform it and rehabilitate it's torn soul. Too much history happened here, and he wasn't keen on letting it rot away. So this lovely moon was brought back from the fringes of it's grave, and rather than serving olden myths, it was his. In a way, he was offput that he appreciated the moon for it's vibrant vivacity, but he shook off the notion. Who cared.

Up in the mountains, frigid and unforgiving, this Dragon continued his meditation. He knew well enough that he had plenty left for Warvanus to be trialed by, but soon would come the time where he wouldn't be able to keep an eye on the swiftly growing Apprentice of his. As he meditated, he came upon many more plans, more oppertunities for success, and bettering his leadership.

Warvanus had often spent time training in either his personal gym, or near the base of the mountain or under Lord Blood. He was growing in skill and strength, he often focused on his swordsmanship, tightening up the forms and sequences, working on the styles he needed work in, and often working on developing his own lightsaber form. It was nothing profound, but it was one that suited his needs and style. He often spent time in the woods among the predators, not to commune with nature, but to dominate it, to show the beasts of this world who the alpha was. However this day he spent on the base of the mountain. He knew Lord Blood was somewhere on the mountain, as he could feel his presence nearby. Since that spar with him posing as his former Master he had felt the bond that bound both him and Blood together, deepened. He had tested him and he had passed, but at the same time it helped him shed some unnecessary emotional baggage.

He had with him a special training droid. It was one that had been programmed to adapt to one’s tactics, mainly used for hand to hand practice. It had target sensors so when hit it would act like it got hit. It also had Padding so he could not potentially break a bone while sparring. The Sith apprentice often used this to help refine his own technique.

The time had come for the Sith apprentice to develop his combat sense. It was a useful ability and one that for what he was would be critical. It was another stepping stone towards his ultimate goal. Mastery. He had remembered Kroxota using the technique during that spar that felt like it was lifetimes ago. Since then he had studied up on it. He now felt he was strong enough and knowledgeable enough to attempt to wrestle this useful secret from the Force.

He opened himself to the dark side, pouring his anger into it, as if it were an offering to his god. The offering was accepted as he could feel its infinite energy available to him. It threatened to suck him into the void of the Force, and maybe he would allow it. The droid immediately launched into a flurry of front punches, aimed at all heights, without thinking he blocked each one with ease with barely enough time to know what was happening he threw a side kick which it also blocked. He needed to refine the ability to perceive his opponents attacks. He had been practicing for weeks with no success. He though he had felt a nudge from the Force, a familiar ebbing in the back of his mind, he felt the need to dodge right, he did so only to be met with a kick from the sparing droid. He fell to ground coughing trying to reclaim the air back into his lungs. Again, the Force had warned him but he did not perceive it until too late as he was met with a kick to the side. The sith quickly rolled away and got to his feet albeit slowly only to be kicked back down again. When he tried to rise again it came with another kick one that he dodged by rolling, he slowly rose to his feet. He again felt that familiar nudge he went to block a punch only to have it connect to his face. He had blocked with the wrong hand. It had come to the sith that he was mistaking his danger sense from combat sense. It was an epiphany; the kicks that it had delivered only amplified his anger until it was white hot fury.

He poured his fury into the Force, its power filling him, he felt stronger, more focused, its power re-energized him. The anger at the assault from a machine, anger that he still struggled in learning this ability. He would not be duped again. The Dark side rose and took the bait; he was able to push the pain aside, his radioactive yellow eyes staring daggers at the machine. It was then he had noticed the droids subtle change in posture and footing. It was subtle but it was there and he could now see this, as if the Force revealed it to him. He could feel the Force nudge him again confirming his suspicions. It was like something between a whisper and a thought planted into his mind. He had dodged left, and as he dodged the droid stepped forward swinging its right arm in a wide punch, the angle like it was trying to do a sloppy right cross. It lead with its shoulder. It provided an opening in which he struck with a punch to where the shoulder and neck meet. It staggered back simulating the blow, even though there was no damage or pain. The sith felt the nudge again this time he was afforded a brief vision on what was going to happen next, it was going to spin on its heel and go for a roundhouse kick aiming for the Sith’s face. The vision vanished as fast as it was upon him, It had felt like it lasted longer than it actually had, barely a second at best. When he came back to himself the droid did exactly as he had seen, it spun and executed a roundhouse kick. Warvanus was ready and threw a block with his right hand executing the block in a clockwise rotation from six to twelve oclock. The block had deflected the kick successfully. He then felt the ebbing in the back of his mind, it was not warning him of danger. He did not get a vision this time but he surrendered to the Force and as the droid went to attack with a front kick, the Sith threw another block but in a counter clockwise rotation and as he deflected the kick he stepped and threw a punch right at its center. He Tightened his fist before impact. The blow struck true and the droid staggered back.

Shutdown” he said and at the command the droid shutdown. The spar was over.

Warvanus pondered what had just happened as he came back to himself. Now that the battle over, he was switching mental gears, examining analyzing what had just happened. He had learned much from it At first he had mistaken Danger sense for Combat sense, He knew that danger sense was the Force warning him of potential danger, where as combat sense would help him perceive and anticipate his opponent’s next move. Kind of like a sixth sense Warvanus thought to himself, which led to the blows he suffered from the droid. He would need to practice to better recognize the difference. It was subtle ability but one he would find useful. He would practice, and with practice he would get better at this and as such he would be that much more formidable. He would practice this with a live opponent next time.

Warvanus winced as the pain from the droid came back to him. It was not serious, it was pain, pain was power. A sith apprentice was familiar with pain. He looked up at the mountain, he wondered if Lord Blood was watching from a distance. He was sure that he had fractured a rib as breathing was labored. He also wondered if the predators would sense his injury.

“Let them come” he goaded.

He walked over to where his lightsaber laid as well as a bottle of water. He took both, clipping the lightsaber to his belt and downing the bottle of the cold clear liquid.

Indeed, he was watching.

Blood hadn't the slightest lack of sight on Warvanus, even from his extreme perch upon the mountain of Sojourn. Far off from the peak, but high enough to be within distance to heightened altitude, Blood was making his own session of Force and focus into one of training. The atmosphere where he sat was thin, and Blood could see how much more easier it was to feel outwardly compared to the nearness when on the earth, or ground level. He much preferred the seclusion, as it lifted him away from the bindings of gravity, of force.

It also gave him privacy.

Blood reached within himself, and scaled along the thick cords of his web, the Force within him meeting his touch with elastic passionate flames. The heat touched a myriad of places, but ultimately, he settled on the connection he had with Warvanus. Using the ability to communicate though primal touch of their minds, Blood transferred an illusion to Warvanus. It was another lesson, one focused on encouraging his growth in Control, and most specific, Controlling Pain. Blood gave him the vivid vision of Warvanus being the center of punishment by his foes from close, the Warrior being smothered by kicks, blows, punches, but he took them all, unflinchingly. It was clear Warvanus managed to absorb and nullify that pain somehow, and focus on delivering blows back as opposed to being slaughtered by them. Malice and triumph glinted in those ice blue eyes of Warvanus as he unleashed his vengeance upon the horde, and as the final foe was felled, only then did he feel fatigue and exhaust. But in the end, he survived.
