If you are not a Force user, you may disregard this message. If you are a Force user under Level 4, you may want to read this message just so that you are aware of what is going on. If you have an inactive account that was a Force user, you will also want to read this message. All other Force users, please read below.
In the past, the standard practice was that any character could have two hands worth of lightweapons within their inventory on the SLIU. In other words, you could have as many lightweapons as your character could carry into combat at any time. An example of this would be two lightsabers (one in each hand), one Sith Sword (one two-handed weapon), or one set of Tonfas (which is also classified as one two-handed weapon). If a character had additional lightweapons in their inventory and they constructed a lightweapon that would put them over the limit, the previously constructed lightweapon was removed from their inventory permanently. An example of this would be if someone had a lightsaber in their inventory and they constructed a Sith Sword. Upon approval of the Sith Sword, an administrator would go into their inventory and remove their lightsaber.
This practice will no longer take place. Instead, any character will be allowed to maintain their previously constructed lightweapons. This will be effective immediately going forward, as well as with any previously removed lightweapons. If you have had a lightweapon removed, please post in this thread and provide the following information:
Character Name
Lightweapon Type
These will be handled on a per request basis. If you don't request it, we're not going to search for these ourselves. If you aren't interested in getting your lightweapons back, just keep it to yourself, you don't need to tell us. It seems that the BETA site does not maintain the URL of your applications, so I'll have to look them up manually for verification and request that Sal throw them into your inventory. Please be patient since this may take some time.
Some questions that I anticipate you might have:
Q: What am I supposed to do with the extra lightweapons in my inventory?
A: If you ever feel the desire to bring a lightsaber into a thread instead of using a lightstaff or a lightspear, for example. You built it and wanted it at one point in your character's story. If you don't see the use for it in the future, don't request that we give it back to you.
Q: What if my lightweapon was destroyed in roleplay?
A: I'm not going to dig into your character's history. If you feel that your character deserves the lightweapon in their SLIU inventory, request it. If you don't, simply do not request it.
Q: What if I built a pair of lightsabers, then they were removed and replaced with a Sith Sword. Then I got tired of the Sith Sword and built two more lightsabers? Do I get four lightsabers in my inventory?
A: No, you'll keep the two lightsabers you already own, but you'll get the Sith Sword back. There is no point in you having four lightsabers as far as the system is concerned.
Q: Is there any limit to how many lightweapons I have have in my inventory?
A: Two lightsabers, two Shoto, one lightspear, one lightstaff, one Sith Sword, one set of Tonfas. Basically, as many of each as you could potentially bring into battle at one time.
Q: I am using a lightstaff and my buddy doesn't have a lightsaber yet. Can I toss them one of the lightsabers that I'm not using?
A: No, because if this is a competitive thread and you will eventually go to a generation, your companion will not have that lightweapon in their inventory to use. It would not be acceptable for your companion to substitute something like a vibrosword for the lightsaber that you gave them within the thread.
Q: A former character of mine has a lightweapon that I want back in their inventory. How do I request this?
A: If this character is no longer on the active roster, please log into the SLIU under their name and then request the lightweapon using the format detailed above. By logging in, you restore that character to the active roster and an administrator will be able to add the lightweapon back onto your character's inventory. Once you have verified that the lightweapon is back in your inventory, please go to the SLIU, click Personal, click Settings, and then click the De-Activate tab. Deactivate from there if you do not intend to switch to that character. I'm going to ask for a little responsibility from you on deactivating your characters. If you cannot find it within yourself to follow the steps to deactivate your character, don't request the lightweapon until you actually intend to use that specific character.
Post any requests for old lightweapons and any further questions that you may have below. Do not contact me via private message on the forum or Discord about this, since I want everyone to be able to see the questions and their responses.
