Pickup events in Monopoly GO reward a quick look at the board before you roll. The scoring icons move after you collect them, so yesterday's favourite spot means nothing now. If you're also playing the Monopoly Go Partners Event, watch for useful tiles nearby rather than chasing pickup points alone. The aim is to make your dice stretch across overlapping activities. You won't control where you land, but you can decide how much to spend when several worthwhile spaces are within reach.
Look for more than one useful landing
A lone pickup can look tempting. Still, two or three icons close together give you more scoring possibilities than one isolated square. Check their distance from your piece, too. With two standard dice, seven is the most likely total, though it's hardly a promise. A group spread around that distance deserves attention. Railroads nearby add another possible payoff through tournament progress. Chance spaces can sometimes help as well, but their results vary. Think in terms of several useful outcomes, not one perfect throw.
Know what your multiplier actually buys
Each pickup is worth two base points, multiplied by the setting used for that roll. That makes a tenfold roll worth twenty points and a twentyfold roll worth forty. A larger setting raises the reward and the dice cost together; it doesn't make the pickup easier to hit. Nor does a cluster award several pickups at once. You collect the icon on your landing space. Once it moves, pause and check whether the surrounding area still looks worth the expense.

Keep expensive rolls on a short leash
It's easy to leave a high setting running after a good hit. That's often where a sensible session gets costly. Manual rolls let you reconsider after each collected icon. When pickups are scattered, turn the setting down instead of trying to force progress. High Roller increases your available limit, not your odds, so there's no need to use the maximum. Before spending heavily, take a moment to check three things. A promising board still needs a spending limit you can live with.
Count reachable pickup spaces.
Check nearby tournament or event rewards.
Set a dice budget before rolling.
Let your next reward guide the session
Watch the milestone you're approaching, not just the points ticking upward. A nearby dice reward might justify a few more rolls; a distant prize may not. Cash boosts and building discounts can support other goals without improving pickup odds. If you're working on an album and tracking Mgo stickers, compare upcoming pack rewards with the dice you're prepared to spend. Stop when that trade stops looking worthwhile, even if the event still has time left.
