"Information inbound. Five-thousand." Rhoden replied sending the information to the bounty hunter.

"Two TIE pilots down, target is fleeing in a Headhunter." one of the troopers reported. "Commander Mercado, launch the Phantoms. Bring him down or catch him in a tractor beam." Rhoden said, raising the Hydra over comma.

There was a brief moment of silence following the Lieutenant Commander's confirmation, and then twelve TIE Phantoms streaked into view, converging on the rebel. Their shields were stronger, their maneuverability and speed greater, and piloted by the handpicked best of the Empire. The rebel was about to prove himself a smart man--or a dead one.

When he received the information he compared the picture to a list that was in the current bounty hunter listing's and smiled. "So commander, you may want to update your information on this guy."

He sends the information from the bounty lists back to the commander. "His name is Rok Vander. Apparently he has been on the run and trying to join the Rebellion even though he's not officially a part of them yet."

((This character hasn't tried to join the Rebellion - Not sure you'd have his name either, I'd rather we ignore that part? You'd know what he looks like thanks to Rhoden's efforts.))

The proximity alarm sounded and what time Rok Vander had bought for himself was about to be spent. In the horizon he could see the distant shape of an Imperial ship in orbit, and the contacts emitting from that bearing, had to be fighters. He noted his flight path and corrected accordingly, bringing up the flight computer. Truth be told he would've fancied his chances, but whilst the Z-95 would've been quick enough to outrun a larger ship, the fighters in the Imperial Navy were renowned for their speed.

He only had one choice.

Rok prepared an ionic charge by misfiring a warhead, it was a trick pilots in the outer-rim would use to throw off a lock or tracker, scrambling any connection with a tracer. That was the first and easiest part, the next was...well, it was out of his hands.

"Force protect me." He muttered quietly to himself as he prepared the hyperdrive. Deactivating weapons, he put all power to dampeners and deflectors. Anything to absorb the stress on the craft. He punched in coordinates blindly, but he had a rough idea where he would end up, if he survived, he'd use a remote signal to contact nearby vessels for help. It was a suicidal plan, but with the squadron bearing down on him from above, and the guaranteed execution waiting below, the choice was made a lot easier.

He gritted his teeth as the craft groaned under the stress of jumping within the atmosphere, the cockpit rocked violently, the missile misfired..

A deafening bang left a small cluster of debris tumbling back to the planet's surface, parts of the dud missile, parts of the Headhunter's wing.

He awakened to see a purple swirl of gases outside the cockpit, several thousand kilometres away from a nebula, he floated in a collection of debris, all of which originated from his craft. He looked at the in-ship chronometer, seeing he'd been out cold for sometime after emerging from hyperspace. He removed his glove and felt around his nose, feeling the warm touch of blood. The stress to his body was severe, but the old headhunter had jumped her last jump. He reached for the comm and began to switch between channels, toggling frequency to the unknown codes, the ones only those who never stepped foot on Imperial worlds knew. He started manually typing out a distress call in tones, set it to automated and then let his head fall back into the pilots headrest as he drifted in deep space. Safe from the Empire, probably, but perhaps not from death.

Rhoden glared out of the array of windows on the Hydra's bridge. The Enforcer-class Cruiser had tracked the rebels hyperspace vector but had yet to find him. There was a ping.

"Headhunter off the starboard bow, sir!" The sensor officer reported, "One life sign." Rhoden smiled, "Lock tractor beam get some troopers down there." Rhoden said, smiling with grim satisfaction.

(Zechs gave me permission to bring in my old special forces team for the purpose of recruiting)

Dropping out of hyperspace nearly on top of the signaling Headhunter was a Hammerhead cruiser followed by two DP-20 gunships and lastly a Quasar Fire class carrier. Two squadrons of X-wings Immediately launched from the carrier quickly followed by a squadron of B-Wings. They began to create a fighter screen between the Imperial vessel and its Tie squadron.

Aboard the bridge of the Hammerhead Cruiser stood the horned figure of a Zabrak wearing the uniform of a Galactic Alliance Commodore. He stared out the view port of the busy bridge at the Imperial Enforcer Cruiser. "Lieutenant, lock tractor beam on the wounded headhunter and have the medbay prepared for injured." The alien spoke in a calm and collected manner. "Comms officer, hail the Imperial vessel."

"Aye Commodore," both men responded in unison. The lieutenant relayed the orders while the comms officer opened channels.

"Imperial Vessel, this is Commodore Sanic of the Galactic Alliance," he spoke with authority. "You are trespassing in Alliance territory and acting aggressively without cause. You have one chance to turn around and return to Imperial borders. Further acts of aggression will be responded to with deadly force."

Both gunships were already setting up weapons locks on the Imperial vessel and it's fighters. Any Imperial officer would also know that the Carrier held several more squadrons of fighters and the Hammerhead carried it's own compliment of vessels. This task force was an old special forces strike team formed by Alliance Intelligence back in the days of the last Rebellion, previously under the command of Major Vellar before his untimely death and acts of treason.

In the last ten minutes, Rok had taken to manually punching in the distress code. It was all he could do to fight off the cold and frost which now encompassed most of the cockpit. When he arrived in the system, he guessed he must have lost environmental controls earlier in the jump. In such a short space of time, ice had began to form on the controls and the shiver built in his shoulder before forcing it's way into his hands, causing them to shake even as he pushed the buttons. It was then the Imperial ship appeared behind him. The unmistakable shape of an Imperial Cruiser, began to close instantly on his floating refrigerator of a fighter.

He could barely turn around to see it, wiping at the frost on his starboard-side view to get a glimpse of any final green blast of laser fire, but it didn't come.

A second thundering exit from hyperspace boomed around him, casting a shadow over his stolen headhunter. He turned forward to see an axe-like shape looming over the cockpit. They'd jumped right on top of him, no doubt the signal had been triangulated to pinpoint accuracy, or so he hoped, or he had only been a few minutes off drifting into their hull upon arrival. Then two more support craft arrived, Corellian, or so they appeared in design. He quickly began pressing in the distress code again, manually, with a few errors here and there which he couldn't prevent, the cold causing his fingers to stiffen.

The faint glow of a tractor force illuminated the icy surfaces as Rok picked up a squadron of X wing's emerging from the hanger, immediately opening the S-foils and passing him by, some by only a couple dozen meters. It was then he knew the Alliance had found him. Also noticing the second and third squadrons, one of which a heavy bomber squadron, he had time to gaze back at the purple exhausts of the X wings before his ship was consumed by the Hammerhead cruiser.

Rhoden felt his blood pressure rise as he gritted his teeth. But the force was too large, "Acknowledged, Commodore." Rhoden snarled, shaking with rage. Cutting off the comm Rhoden turned to Lieutenant Commander Mercado, "Bring us about, set course back to Imperial space." he said stalking away.

"KROSS!" Rhoden bellowed, ignoring the startled jumps of the nearest crewmen, Arvil Kross turned to look at Rhoden. "Yes, Commander?" he asked. "Go dig around and see what you can find out about that Commodore, and any other relevant information." Rhoden said briskly. Arvil nodded and turned back to his work, clearing it away and opening up a detailed database.

The deck shuddered as the Hydra made the jump to hyperspace. If only those ships had come out further away from the Headhunter, Rhoden could only too easily have destroyed the ship before leaving. If it hadn't been for the bombers the Hydra and her fighter complement might well have been able to handle the rebel forces. Rhoden would have to bring up getting some more vessels assigned to the Task Force if he got the chance...

The Zabrak let out a sigh of relief as the Imperial vessel responded and proceeded to jump to hyperspace. Despite the odds being fully in the Alliances’ favor in a fight, the Commodore has no interest in losing lives to destroy one ship and save one life. “Helmsman, bring us about and set course for home,” he ordered. The crewman nodded and the fighters returned to the carrier and all ships made a jump to hyperspace.

The damaged Headhunter came to a slow stop on the Hammerhead’s hanger floor. As soon as the tractorbeams released it a medcrew and team of engineers swarmed the craft. Within seconds the dura-glass viewport was removed and the medical crew were pulling Rok from the freezing interior. He was placed gently on a repulserlifted stretcher before being run out of the hanger. “You’re going to be okay kid,” a Twi’lek medofficer gently spoke.

Several minutes later he was rushed into the medbay where a bactatank was waiting for him. “Get him in stat, his body is going into shock!” Ordered the Twi’lek. Rok was stripped and hooked up to a breathing apparatus before being submerses into the healing liquid.

A human wearing an GA army uniform covered by a dark brown leather jacket stepped into the bay. “What’s his status,” asked the man.

“Ah Carth, he’s stabilizing,” the Twi’lek responded. “Imperials sent him for a thought ride.”

“That’s the Imperial way,” Carth replied. “Hope he was worth the risk.”

“Aren’t all living sentiments worth the risk,” Sanic’s voice rang through the medbay. “That’s what we are here to do take the risk so others may live.” He turned to Carth, and continued in at a more casual volume. “And if the stories I’ve heard about this fellow he was definitely worth the risk.”

Rok didn't recall much after the Hammerhead cruiser loomed over him. He remembered the eerie glow of the tractor beam, but had no recollection of a battle, if there even was one. His eyes opened slowly, feeling the weight taken off of his limbs, the aches had vanished and now he felt a strange warmth. He reached up to feel a mask inserted over his mouth, struggling a little as he tried to make out where he was.

As if he was submerged beneath water, he could see two figures beyond the tank he was contained in. He gestured with his hands and a nod was returned in kind. It struck him that these were Alliance personnel, even though he'd never actually seen one in person. Due to his origin, he'd been on the very fringes of known space and the closest he'd gotten to seeing a Rebel was in fact all he saw in himself, and perhaps his former group of freedom fighters.

Then he felt himself lift, the pressure tubes emptied and the expulsion raised him from floating beneath the surface to the very top of the tank. A few minutes later he was dressed in what he figured was some kind of out-patient attire. A thin yet practical set of bottoms, footwear and a long-sleeve shirt, all a comforting non-imperial shade of grey.

"Wait here please." Said the attendant.

"Sure," He replied, taking a seat as everyone left the room he'd been moved to.

The door slid open to Rok’s waiting room and the military Captain stepped in, his dark brown hair was kept in a military cut and he carried a 5’clock shadow. He was holding a data pad which he was casually skimming before his blue eyes looked up at the young man. “Rok Vandar?” Carth asked the man. Whether Rok knew it or not Alliance Intelligence had been watching the man for some time. “I’m Captain Carth Dunnwood, Alliance Military.” He outstretched his right hand for a shake.

A droid followed Carth into the room hold a case. It moved over to a small table in the room and placed it down before opening it. Inside was a set of off duty fatigues for Rok to wear if he so desired. “So tell me, what does a man in a lone headhunter do to get an Imperial cruiser to chase him to the middle of deep space?”
