Thousands of years ago
"Tu're sentenced kia two hundred years nuo nenx conforming su tave traditions iv tu\'iea clan ir tu\'iea tauta. Tu valia buti skaraji kash tave drobe iv tu\'iea clan kia mineti edoui kuris anga sis iv kam happens tikazi tu bend tradition. Rasiz kash two hundred years tu valia buti vel willing kia isar vi tu\'iea ss\'horunas did." A voice said. (You're sentenced to two hundred years for not conforming with the traditions of your clan and your people. You will be wrapped in the cloth of your clan to remind those who open this of what happens when you bend tradition. Perhaps in two hundred years you will be more willing to do as your ancestors did.) They were wrapped up then pushed inside.

Today corusant's black market

"Come one come all see the blind auction. You never know what one will get, they are all in unopened crates. We've had everything from ammo to ship parts. Come in bid, see what you can find." A man said loudly trying to draw in customers. Once inside was a group of people already bidding on crates. "We have twenty credits for this box, going once, going twice, sold to the woman." The auctioneer said slamming his gavel on the podium. The woman came up to pay, after she did the opened the box to reveal a clone war droid. "Nice find there madame. Hope you enjoy it." He said as he offered applause. The woman took her droid as a few men rolled out the next crate. "Next we have this rather large box. I must say it's the largest one I've seen, we will start the bid at a hundred credits." The auctioneer yelled.

Buggie buzzed in disappointment as a Clone Wars-era droid departed with its new owner. He had come to the market to secure as many hard-to-find droids as he could get his chitinous hands on in order to tear them apart and study them. His work relied on droid brains, and as many as he and his staff could accumulate, the better for their research. Notably, it was their research, referring to the staff under his supervision. A class-one droid brain and a class-three droid brain were the same, as far as Buggie could tell, unless one was a little bigger than the other. He didn't even want to begin thinking about the programming that his engineers had to delve into. His astromech droid, Twitter, was his pride and joy, having built it himself, but even then, most of the parts had already been in place when he purchased the damaged astromech.

"Storm, go see if you can't offer the lady a few credits to separate her from her new droid. She probably doesn't need it anyway," Buggie suggested to his lieutenant, keeping his eyes on the next big box up for auction, "I'll stay here and try to win this one."

The fortunate part about this auction being held on Coruscant was that whatever goods Buggie could secure could be easily moved through Coruscant's Blue Star facilities until it reached his research vessel. The movement of goods was much cleaner than if he had obtained goods from an Imperial system, where they'd need to be smuggled away.

"One hundred!" Buggie shouted, pouring a little bit of the light side into his voice in order to be heard over the mass of sentients that had assembled.

Better be a droid...!

Standing in the corner of the auction house was Captain Jak Bexel and his trusty pal Harold, his ever-evolving maintenance droid with an encrypted memory bank that spanned a century. In town for negotiations of his wellness clinic in the heart of the city-planet, Jak made an 'executive call' to procure some vintage artifacts. The resale on these mystery items - while unknown being they were mystery items - would help him fetch more independent funding for his facility on Takodana. With any luck, the materials could be repurposed to house his array of transponders and signal relays. There was a hardiness and workmanship before and during the Clone Wars that the galaxy had yet to return to, and as such these were exciting materials to work with.

"These old buildings are the best," Jak muttered matter-of-factly. "Sorta flamboyant, but not some dull gray blight. They don't make em' like this anymore."

"Yes, and now it's all that pre-fab poodoo," Harold shook his head. "Today will be the day we score an old senate pod. I can feel it in my circuits."

"Don't get your hopes up, if anything got melted down for scrap, it's the Imperial Senate. Would be nice, though. Get one of those, add some surveillance, before you know it you've got a floating security office right in the middle of the action. Great - now I want one."

The bidding for the Clone Wars droid heated up too fast for them to act on it, to which Harold felt like kicking himself. There were some pieces inside those Clone Wars-era droids that again, were made for longer term than what passes for cutting edge today. Jak sighed and watched the woman walk away with her new vintage droid, but the massive box coming up next on the docket won his attention in an instant. He placed a steady hand on Harold's shoulder. "This is the one," he whispered to the droid.

Unfortunately, Buggie also had an interest from several meters ahead. Shrugging away the royal blue cape that rested on his shoulder, he held up his hand to get the attention of the auctioneer.

"Two hundred," Jak declared, thus throwing his hat into the ring of the auction war.

He heard one hundred from the verpine, then two hundred from a man in the corner with a droid. "Two hundred, do I hear two fifty?" He said loudly. Another man raised his hand. "Two fifty, do I hear three?" He said loudly. A different women than before raised her hand. "We have three, do I hear three fifty?" He said loudly. The auctioneer waited anxiously for more bids.

'This box might be our biggest sell.' He thought. The auctioneer had no clue as to what was in the crate, nor did anyone else. That was the point of the blind auction, so that it was fair to all. It was also a good way to prevent out breaks of fighting. They still happened sometimes, but that was what security was for. Security was only for this auction and nothing really else, no one cared what truly happened in the black market.

Yan Pogo sat in the back row looking for a deal for some clients in the Alliance. One of his clients had recently won a million credits in a totally legal raffle that was supposed to benefit the children of some planet. The token fee had made one hella return. It was this mystery box that had caught that dashing and mildly charming fellow's attention. There was no price too high. No price too low. The box was a mystery and thus interesting.

Yan leaned forward and pulled a lollypop out of his boot. It was his time to shine. "Now dis is my blurp of milk." He raised his hand and coughed as he inhaled the fresh aroma unleashed. "3,000 credits!"

His bright blue and tan shirt clashed lovely with his hot pink boots and orange pants. Yan wasn't known for his fashion sense. It was all about whatever he could find on the floor of his YT that didn't smell bad. It was getting ever harder to find low stink clothes. It didn't help he ate mostly fish. He really needed to get one of those low ranking alliance chaps to get the broom out and throw it all out. "Why wash when you can start over?" That was his motto.

Too bad he couldn't do that with himself. He really needed it to rain on his way back to his YT. He really really needed that shower.

The auctioneer's eyes lit up with the three thousand credit bid. "Sold to that man there!" The auctioneer said loudly. When he came up to pay, the auctioneer could smell him. "Gess dude." He said quietly as Pogo dropped the credits off. The auctioneer motioned for the crate to be open, when it opened he had no clue what he was stairing at. No one else in the crowd seemed to know what it was either, to them it was a box with carving on it. To those more educated it was an oubliette (statis casket), something the Sith had created.

A look on the inside one would only see one thing in a sea of black, a symbol, it was ancient Sith. The symbol dated back at least five thousand years, it was the symbol of the Kissai caste. Other than that however it seemed to be empty. The oubliette itself though in it's current condition was priceless. "I have no idea what I am looking at." The auctioneer whispered to the smelly dude.

"That..." Buggie murmured to himself, upset after the auctioneer took a high bid and closed without waiting for other bids to come in, "...is not how an auction works."

He had enough disappointment for one day and, finding that there were no more big boxes up on the stage, departed back to the underground levels of the former galactic capital.

As the verpine departed a single man stood up in the crowd. It was an older gentleman stood up wearing a hat and some glasses. "Excuse me, I am Harrison Jones, muesum director. What you're looking at is an oubliette, the statis version as there is the shadow port. Those carvings are Sith, though it's hard to tell how old it is from here." He said. He made his way up to the platform to inspect it farther when he noticed the symbol on the inside.

He looked at the man who was now the owner of the oubliette. "The muesum should have this, such a thing is extremely rare. This particular oubliette is at least 5,000 years old. That symbol on the inside is ancient Sith, though I don't know what it means, i definitely recognize the symbol as part of their language. This is priceless beyond measure to muesums or collectors. Finding one in such a state makes it so much more valuable." He explained.

Yan listened. He considered the fine words. He gave his simple reply with a huff of his extra fishy breath.

"No."

He slapped a sticker on the side of the box. It now had a one way ticket to Naboo. Alliance High Command to be exact. There was an Admiral of no one who would want his toy. The fact it was a stasis unit of sith origins would make his reaction priceless. It wasn't every day someone gave you what potentially might be a very old body.

What happened after delivery? That wasn't Yan's problem. He had a YT to get cleaned out. The lower turret was full of his old underwear, and it was making flight awkward.

After the oubliette was removed from the stage, the auctioneer was perhaps now a little disappointed that he had sold that crate so fast. He probably could have gotten more for it and he'd probably never get another like it in his life. 'Thats what you get for pulling the trigger to fast.' He thought as a new box made its way to the stage. "Ok let's start the bidding at 10 credits" he said loudly, trying to get things back in swing.

Days after heading for naboo

Gigi Smerson waited to recieve pogos ship. He had said he had something important, but it no doubt smelled to high heavens. So she wore a decon suit with her other scientists. When the cargo was dropped, she couldn't believe he eyes, an oubliette. "Where in blazes did you get that?" She asked as she moved to take the thing for cleaning before the Grand Admiral looked at it, she noticed the symbol on the inside. "Alert the grand Admiral at once. We need to move this thing to contamination." She said as she motioned for the scientists to take it.
