The impact was heavier than he was expecting... and he was expecting it to be plenty heavy. He had managed to avoid the many spines jutting out all over it's scaly body, he had managed to missed the teeth that were as long as he was tall, and razor sharp to boot... he even had managed to miss the claws that reached for him... but the tail. The tail was the one thing he had failed to miss as he ducked into the Krayt dragon's cave. It slammed into him with a tremendous crash that blasted the oxygen from his lungs, already burning from his trek through Tatooine's horrid landscape.

His armor screamed in protest as he was thrown into the wall of the cave, grunting, as he slid to the ground. The dragon slowly turning to look at him, hunkering low to the ground... an enraged hiss coming toward him. It slithered his way, thundering claws slamming into the stone, digging in, building up speed. He cursed, reaching out with the Force, his eyes fell on a small crevice...

"Oh but I do love me some lack of options..." he opined sarcastically, before he dove for the nook. Not a moment too soon. He hit the ground, and pulled his legs in, pulling every inch that he could, struggling to put himself closer to the edge... it was tight quarters, but he managed. The dragon clawing and biting at the crevice, trying to reach him... he could feel it's hot breath. And now, Colt was effectively trapped. All this for a frakking droid, just because it had intel he needed... He needed to think, needed a way out of this mess. His mind, as it often did, fell upon Adara, all she had accomplished, how she had sacraficed herself... for him. It wasn't supposed to be that way! He was the teacher. He was her adopted father! It was supposed to be him. She had learned many a thing that still alluded him. She had learned more about visions than he could imagine.

And while Colt was fire and lightning, she had mastered ice--

There was a jolt as a long spine cut through the crevice, knicking his arm, the cavern shook as the creature slammed his tail into it... and Colt winced as he felt the rock shift, grinding against his chest and back... if that creature kept that up, he'd surely be crushed. But it was a lizard. Lizard's were cold blooded... and Adara had just given him an idea.

((FORCE POWER - Orb - Start - 500 words))

He reached out with the Force, felt out for the massive monstrosity... felt it's rage, it's ire-- no, he didn't need that. That was fire and shadows, he needed ice... he focused on the very air around the beast. There was a slight breeze from the monster's thrashing about, and he focused on the molecules in the air... moisture, he needed moisture, basic physics. Moisture reacted better than the air did, but try as he might, he could find none. This was Tatooine, and water was hard to come by...

He found that out the hard way. Everything was so dry, the very air even felt cracked. He needed to reach out further.. find something, anything... Moisture farming... that's all this was, they needed moisturizers in the ground? So dig deeper! Colt reached his mind further, deeper into the ground at the dragon's feet. Reached and dug with his mind, imagining himself parting stone and soil, sand and greenery-- greenery needed water! He clung to that image, the image of a plant... and he followed it's roots. It didn't take him long before he realized he was in a larger cistern beneath the cavern... a cistern filled with a crystalline water. So he focused on that, but first he needed to gather some water...

Reaching out, he dipped his imagined hands, into the water, feeling the cool density of it. He moved to pick it up... and as if he had used his hands to do it, it all flowed back into the cistern. He needed to think bigger. Colt was strong with imagery, picturing himself often manipulating objects through the Force when called upon... now was no different. Trapped in that crevice, he imagined himself wading into the water of the cistern below them, with his helmet in his hand... he dipped his helmet into the water, and lifted... it held there for a moment, wavering as he felt the Force resist. Felt the very pull of the water, trying to wrench itself free from his grasp.

His spectral fingers clung to that spectral helmet, focusing on tightening his grip. His fingers grew longer to encompass the helmet, and he held onto it all the tighter. Now he needed to pull it to him... he focused on lifting himself up, toward the ceiling... but the helmet got stuck for a moment.. while Colt and the helmet itself could pass through, being his essence in the Force, the water struggled as he tried to force it through the pores of the soil and stone... he pulled and pulled...

It wasn't the desired effect, however. He had intended to get some water into the air to freeze... instead, it came blasting upward in an orb of water, right into the underbelly of the Krayt dragon. It let out a roar of surprise, and whirled about, the tail slammed into the side again... but Colt stared out, agape for a moment... perhaps he could use that. He focused his thoughts, narrowed his mind... and delved back into the cistern below... he focused on the water once more, gathering it in his spectral hands, he focused on his hold. Focused on tethering it together... but again is spilled forth, splashing into the cistern.

He needed to delve deeper, so he did... imagining himself as smaller, much smaller... he grabbed at the very molecules of the water, focusing on them, and began to try looping and weaving them together... tethers of water lashed it all to itself... and he grunted under the strain of trying to lift it, but lift it he did. He sighed as it started to rise... slowly at first, but he focused on its building speed. Pictured himself holding the sphere like a ball as he grew his essence once more... wound up... and hurtled the orb as though it was a sports ball. It slammed into the weakest point in the ceiling, and caused it to explode upward in hail of harmless shale, the water not even a mist as it splashed the beast, which backed up a bit to look down into the lake that resided down there.

Now with an opening, and a greater understanding, Colt rapidly began the process again, shaping another orb of water... and called it through the hole, where it slammed into the monster's eye, snapping it's head back. It let out a below of pain, anger, and rage...

Colt sighed, realizing it'd take more than that to fell the beast, but now he had a steady source of water... he just needed to figure out how to do what he needed.

The water on the ground would make a good starting point. It was there he focused, now that he had brought the water to the surface. Pulled tightly within the confines of the nook he had crammed himself into, he focused his thoughts on the crystalline liquid. The inside of the cavern was much cooler than it was beneath the twin suns outside, otherwise the water would have already been gone, but it was still hot enough to cause small bits of steam to lift up, adding to the heat in the air. So he focused, pouring his power into the water... feeling the very molecules, touching upon them, testing them, working on moving them one way, then another.

To close, and the friction would cause heat, which was what he didn't, two far, and the water would hiss away into steam. He needed to find that happy median. That place where they didn't touch, but a fraction further would cause them to- he paused as he pulled them closer, holding them there. No change at first... until they reached for each other.. steam lifted into the air again, but this time, it wasn't from warmth. It was a puff of frost. Not what he was trying to do, but it was a start. He needed them to not collide, but to join together, as if huddling for warmth in the cold he would be creating.

With a sigh, he reached out, and expanded his touch, searching for every bit of moisture he could find, sweat began to bead on his forehead as he strained his mental capacities, delving into his work. He grasped at the molecules that made up the water on the ground, and the molecules in the air that matched those on the ground. Water. He needed every bit he could grasp.. and he focused on them, bringing them gently together, letting them merge into small double molecules, frost hissing into the air. A massive clawed hand slammed into the crevice, and rapidly recoiled as the cold began to expand in the chamber and Colt's eyes snapped open, the liquid on the ground slowly becoming more and more solid, cold... frozen.

He raised his hands, shaping the water as it froze, the water rising up, abruptly, turning to ice, sending several shards of frozen water up, into the Krayt dragon. They didn't puncture it's thick hide, however, but it did slam into the beast, knocking it backwards... he continued his hold, sending another grouping of ice and frost, working on forming it, shaping it around the beast.... it let out a roar... and recoiled, back pedaling quickly... with a gasp of breath, Colt relaxed as the beast turned to flee from the discomfort of it's cold bloodedness, and ice.

He released his hold on his power, leaving a the cavern filled with icy stalactites, already dripping as the molecules began to break down in the heat. With a weary sigh, he pulled himself from the crevice.

The beast would be back soon, so he needed to hurry. He pulled himself, painstakingly, from the crevice and moved deeper into the cave, reaching out for the ripple that had led him to this desolate place. There it was, a beacon of light in the dark. He moved through the refuse, using the Force itself to make way for him... there was a ruined PX-10, retrofitted, it seemed, a single soldier assault vessel, there was an old computer system that had been ripped from the cockpit, possibly with the driver. Probably by the Krayt Dragon... not a pleasant thought.

The computer was still connected, in places, to the truck, and from that, was plugged a single, pyramid shaped object. Colt moved to pluck it up, and scowled as he saw the wires connecting it... they were tough, problematic. He wouldn't be able to just sever them, he couldn't just yank it free. It could ruin the data contained within, and the data, frankly, was what he needed. This is what happened when normal people tried to understand the Force, Jedi, Sith... they got way in over their head, and they destroyed ancient histories and knowledge. With a sigh, he began.

((Force Power - Force Comprehension - Start - 400 words))

He stared at the holocron, pushing his will against it. The first task of opening one, was to solve the puzzle of it all, through the Force itself. Already it began to click, and whir. Ancient text floating in the air around him, an entire life time of a Jedi. Information they could use, no doubt... his thoughts were disturbed, however, from his revelry, by a roar. He needed to work quickly here. So he pressed his mind against the words. Focused on them, and focused on compiling every bit to memory. The holocron couldn't come with him, after all.

He sighed, and closed his eyes. The words were burned into his eyelids, blue sigils, glowing in the darkness that surrounded him. The name Nomen Karr stood out, perhaps it had belonged to the originator of the holocron. There were images, there in the words, he needed to unlock them some how. Combine them. He willed the Force to reshape the pyramid, currently held tentatively in one golden gauntleted hand. The points shifting and twisting about, as the words were refocused and turned, moving against his armor. He focused on every aspect, letting it slowly begin to seep into his being, but the words were only part of the story.

He took a deep breath, resisting the urge to try to just absorb the words into his being, the call to do so was strong, the connection growing as he reshaped the words, letters forming images. And there was the image of the Jedi... he spoke far too slowly for him. Time was of the essence! He reached inside the device, letting his mind expand, and the Jedi before him began speaking faster. As if he had found the fast forward button. He focused on each word as they were said, and let the holocron loop on itself, beginning anew.

He breathed the words in then, the cerulean images absorbing into his essence, as the words the Jedi spoke rang in a chorus against his ears. He could feel his mind expanding as he focused on the Jedi, and his every action, an entire lifetime flashing over and over again, and he drank it as though it was a fine wine, absorbing it into his mind. Taking the knowledge within the holocron, his eyes and ears processing every bit with greater clarity than he could have hoped for. The holocron began to spark as he took in the last of it all. His comprehension of what this Jedi had learned in his time, what he had done, acting as a spy for the Jedi Order, acting as a Sith, friends of Darth Baras even. The Jedi would like that information. Perhaps they'd be interested in a trade.
