((Alteration level 2 - Begin))

She stared at the object for several moments, hand extended toward a stack of coins. She had researched what the Force could do, she was crazy, not stupid. Her eyes fixated on the coins as she strained in her mind. She felt the Force about the pair of them, felt it waver beneath the pressure she exerted, but the coin wouldn't budge. She hissed at the coin, and lifted a second hand. She visualized the Force between her and it, and she pushed. She pushed and pulled, but to no avail. With a huff, she decided to try a new approach.

Sitting down, she closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She touched upon the anger and hatred within her, and sent it toward the coin. She felt the surge of power, calling, beckoning. She grasped it, and let it pull her along. She drifted to the coin, touching against it, without her fingers coming into contact. The Force brushed against it, and with that, she felt the contours, the very ripples of the designs upon the otherwise smooth, metal surface. She felt the absence of heat and the taste of copper. Her mind expanded as she pressed against this tiny, but unyielding, disc.

She let out a low growl as she grew more and more annoyed with herself. The Dark Side reaching with her as she grasped at the coin, feeling it slipping through her spectral fingers, without moving. No, she needed something to solidify her bond to the Force, something to connect her to it. She envisioned tethers launching from her body into the coin, she envisioned her lifting the coin- it twitched slightly, her eyes snapping open in surprise and elation, causing the coin to fall inert again. With a scream, she swept the coin from the table.

Her head slowly turned to stare after the coin, yellow eyes boring into it. Her hand still extended a bit, not touching the desk, but directed toward the coin. The Force had moved it. She dove onto the ground, hands and knees, staring down at the coin. She reached out in the Force, touching against it once more. Imagined tendrils of the Dark Side wrapped about the coin, she pulled and tugged, but the tendrils snaked through it as though it wasn't there. The Force vibrating as it fumbled to get a grip on the coin- no, that wasn't right.

The Force struggled for nothing, she was the one struggling. She whimpered at her ineptitude. She turned her attention to thoughts of being inside that bacta tank. Focusing on the light and the dark. The Force. The area between the dark and the light, too much light shone in this place. She growled softly, focusing on the dark, the area between, and pushed against the Light once more. She pushed and pulled, the light wavering beneath the onslaught, as she grasped at the coin. It began to tremble before her, drawing a thin smile. That brief moment of elation and joy caused her grip on the Force to falter, and it stopped moving.

She stared at the coin, her eyes boring into it as her anger began to build again and with it, came a maelstrom of her power. Small and insignificant, but it whipped about the room, like a small breeze that lifted her hair, an assailed the coin. But it was only her hair, the coin didn't budge, nor did anything in the small room. That frustrated her even further, and she poured more of her anger into it, her hands opening, fingers splayed out in open air on either side of the coin, struggling to will it to just lift up! Raise!

She felt the Force move around it, felt the grooves on the edge of the coin, could feel the Force brush up against it, again and again. She imagined it lifting, focused on moving the Force through and around the small disc. She envisioned it being suspended on the air by the Dark Side, she imagined it held aloft by a pillar of shadow. Her eyes opened to the coin, watching as it hovered there in the air. She could do it. She just needed to learn more of her abilities... right now, she was just strengthening them as though it was a muscle.

She stared at the coin as it dropped to her hand, her control on it lost. But she felt satisfied, she'd learn how to do that again eventually.
