The blaster fire began, the sounds of orders being shouted and soldiers screams as they were shot down echoed into the hall. Ryder cursed to himself as he heard one soldier yell that it was a Sith. He looked down the hall towards the door past the troopers, where Ryder and Harbinger would be able to make their escape. The issue now was to push past the troops in the hall and potentially enter the line of fire for a brief moment.

“Alright, let get this over with, you take point,” Ryder ordered one of his troopers before turning to the other. “You take the rear, Harbinger stay close to me, I know that body isn’t the most armored.” He took a deep breath and drew his heavy blaster. “Move, move, move!”

The group of five non-Imperials rushed forward, aiming to stay against the opposite wall from the door. As they moved one of the imperial soldier took a blaster bolt straight to the chest and nearly collapsed into their path. Ryder risked a glance through the door and spotted the all to familiar crimson blade of the Sith. However what surprised him was the sight of Mandalorian armor moving with the dark force user. Ryder quickly fired a volley of green bolts through the open door as they pushed past, trying to keep himself position between Harbinger and the current threat. All they had to do was make to the next door over then they’d be home free.

Running from a battle like this, against a Sith no less, filled the shard with shame and anger. All due to this... Body he found himself stuck inside of. Once he was free of this place, he didn't care who had to be bribed, begged, or befriended, the body he was going to have for himself would be able to stand against any foe on any field of battle. This far into his very long existence, he'd run from nothing, and here he was being escorted, protected, it wounded his pride more than any physical damage he'd ever suffered.

Following closely, Harbinger was showered in the smoke and sparks of stray bolts being redirected and deflected by the Sith female, reaching down as he moved, he grabbed up the rifle dropped by the Imperial soldier, feeling more comfortable with both hands wrapped around a weapon. He had been told to run, he had been told to stay close, he'd not been told to hold his fire though. The upshot of being stuck inside of a droid was the lack of a pulse, the ability to hold ones hands straight and true and not interfere with aim, which was part of the reason Harbinger hated weapons like this, the utter lack of skill it took to just shoot straight was laughable. He took pot shots at the Mandalorian and the Sith alike, aiming for their weapons and not their bodies. If he couldn't take part in the battle, he would just remove battle from the equation.

His feet made a horrible clatter on the durasteel plates of the hangar as he made haste along with his allies, but there was no denying the brilliant red glow from inside the open chest of his chasis, if they didn't know what he was, they'd know atleast that he was a very peculiar droid and something to be looked at more closely. Reaching out with his senses, he tried something he thought was rather cheeky, trying to see if he could disrupt the energy cell inside the hilt of that Sith's blade, he could switch the sabre off, or disrupt its power flow, making it inconsistant. More to be a bastard than anything else, such was his hate towards sabre's in general.

The Sith apprentice plowed her way through the volleys and the troopers, until she had spotted her quarry, she called upon the Force to leap towards the Droid and the Imperial it gave her some distance from the troopers but did not put her in front of the path of her target. Being close enough she approached the pair her lightsaber blade still ignited, deflecting the bolts, not returning them to the sender. She purposefully did this to show her intentions towards the pair were not lethal at least at this juncture in time.

As she approached the pair her lightsaber blade was pointed down, her hood still up when close enough she spoke looking at the droid
Come now, is this anyway to greet the one who has traveled all this way to liberate you?” she said as she powered her lightsaber down, her tone neutral almost as if she was not paying the Imperial any attention. She would need to act quick if they both were going to get out of here alive. Her senses were extended , sensitive to any impending danger or disturbance in the Force. She had raised her mental shielding right before they disembarked the wreckage that was formerly their shuttlecraft. She would not be duped, her purpose was singular, to fulfill her Master's bidding and right now Her Master saw possible value in this unique life-form. Question that was in Kinta’s mind was How much effort was this worth?

Vyn was fighting for his life, fighting off Imperial troopers, he soon found his rifle was depleted of ammo and had no more spare clips, not to be deterred he took the butt end of the rifle and start using it on the troopers as a melee weapon still doing what he can to fight them off. From the corner of his eye he saw Kinta close to their objective, he had to keep fighting, for himself, for Mandalore and more importantly for the Krath.

As much as Harbinger loathed to admit, there was something about the manner in which Sith held themselves as fighters, that he begrudgingly respected. They had a single focus on their mind, ridding themselves of distractions as they plowed through enemy forces to capture their goals. He'd exploited that narrow focus in the past, but in this current situation, he was by far incapable of combat, not in the manner he would prefer atleast. Cursing the limitations of this protocol droid shell, he stood with Ryder and the remaining soldiers as they were cut off halfway through the hangar, staring down an armed Sith.

"Liberation you speak of, Liberation I have already achieved. And with a handsome reward for my co-operation in that regard. I highly doubt that you, or whomever you work for, could possibly offer me something better for my compliance. So as i've said to many Sith in my travels "The Force, Shall Free Me" he said, his optics glowing red as he looked towards Ryder and pushed on his shoulder "Lets get out of here"

With that Harbinger started to walk away. There was no battle to be had here for him, and there was no glory for him to win in this state. So there was no need for him to fight. If he would be taken against his will, So be it. But Ryder was... Well, Some sort of Jedi, he wasn't actually quite sure of him at this point in terms of his loyalties. But the deep seeded hatred Harbinger bore for the Sith forced his hand as he strode towards Hangar 3. He'd made up his mind, Now it was for his Allies to make good on their promises. If Shen was to be destroyed, this was his path.

She watched as the droid turned to leave

You have no idea what can be offered to you, those impulses you have felt through the Force, reassuring you that you would soon see freedom were not sent to you by the Imperials, I would not have traveled all this way to come free you from your bonds if my cause had nothing to offer you

She was not denying or acknowledging that she was a Sith, she was an apprentice to a Sith Lord but she was also so much more. She should have brough Krath operatives and assets with her instead of taking only the clan-less Mandalorian. Whom from the corner of her eye was still warding off the troopers, if the momentum did not change soon she would have to intervene to help him out.

Don’t you want to learn how to use the power you were given?, to recognize your full potential or take a droid body that was worthy of someone with your talent and skill?” she paused “If so, come with me, if not then I will leave you to your “friends” “ She used the term loosely. She gave him a moment to decide.

It was his call

Standing there, Harbinger was thankful now for the first time in a long time that his visage did not betray his feelings. There was a turmoil brewing inside him once again. He needed power to defeat Shen, and the Sith knew power quite intimately, that much was certain. But he'd been down that path, been shown the way to harness fear, doubt, and anger among other emotions to channel them in to that malevolent rage that Sith used to fuel their abilities. He'd also seen the other side of that coin, and tried to find peace in the Jedi's ways of restraint, calm, and self control. Neither suited him, and neither allowed him to feel whole or at peace. It was only in the heat of battle, proving and testing himself against the odd's of a strong more capable opponent did the Shard ever truly feel alive.

He looked over towards the fellow clad in Beskar steel, firing at the Imperials who were either running for cover, dropping like flies, or making the push towards him with that well oiled mechanical pressure the Imperial army was known for. Tactics meant nothing when you had more bodies to add to the pyre than your enemy. Seeing a Mandalorian fighting like that, butchering his enemies with overwhelming fire power sickened the Shard to the core, Even this fellow had abandoned honor in service of the Darkness. Everything around him at that moment infuriated the Shard, leaving him to clench his fists as he fought against his own nature, his desire, and his need to see the one who had shamed him, and taken his honor destroyed. His eyes turned to the woman with the sabre again, looking from the hilt back up to her eyes, and down again. He hated Lightsabre's... but he could not deny their use when combating opponents who had their own. The great equalizer he'd heard them called once before.

"I have dealt with Sith before, In my time. I know my potential, I know what power i possess, and more importantly, I know my own limitations. Your benefactor or Master may have sent me the hope that i would be free when he sent you. But those who found me first, are the key to the revenge i sorely need. They can show me the path between the Light and the Dark. When those opposing ideals clash, they create shadows, which i shall walk and find the truth of the Force. Allow me that opportunity, and when i emerge again upon the galactic stage. We shall talk again, Sith. You will be hunted, tested, and if you're found wanting, You shall be shown the truth of the Force"

Her facial expressions did not change, she gave nothing in her expression, if anything one would sense a sense of amusement coming from the Black Siren as she listened to this being go on and on even going on and on about balancing the Force and using both, inwardly she wanted to behead the machine then rip out the crystal and crunch it under her boot for bringing such heresys. Even the Sith or at least her Master knew this was folly. She kept those urges locked tight in the deepest part of her psyche.

You know nothing of what I can offer you, what I bring will not be offered to you again nor do you know what my cause is, I am not a Sith” she paused almost tempted to reveal what her true role was but she decided he was not worthy to know of such things she continued “we will meet again but it will be on my timetable, and when it is beneficial to my designs, not yours

With that she turned and began to make her way back to Vyn who was beginning to get overwhelmed, but she saw that he was making his way to a Lambda class shuttle. She agreed it was time to leave as she now made strides to rejoin Vyn in the frey. A wasted trip she had thought to herself and possibly a costly one. She would take that rising anger and let it out as the blade in her lightsaber came back to life and she rejoined the frey with her Lieutenant. This would give the Shard his opportunity to flee and escape, and both her and Vyn needed to leave as well, she knew Warvanus would not like what she would report to him. Not at all…

“Sith treachery,” Ryder muttered, his blaster remaining pointed at the Sith acolyte the entire conversation. He had enough respect to not shoot an opponent who had their weapons down, even a Sith. He allowed the conversation to play out and was happy to hear Harbingers choice. He motioned for his soldiers to move out and they all made their way to hanger three. “Let the Imperials finish the fight, we need to get moving!”

As they entered the hanger Ryder turned to Harbinger. “Thank you for trusting me,” he spoke calmly. “I promise to do everything in my power to help you.”

The hanger was mostly empty at his point, Ryder’s ship was the only one left and there were even a few Imperials eyeing it as their potential escape. It was a Lambda shuttle tho instead of the imperial grey it was painted black with silver highlights along the wings. It also had the Black Star Industries logo on the center fin. As the group rushed across the hanger the boarding ramp lowered and another Black Star officer stepped out and made sure no one was following them.

Once everyone was aboard the ramp closed and the vessel lifted off the durasteel floor. The ship blaster out of the hanger and the pilots quickly put in coordinates to link up with the Black Stars, Ryders flag ship for his company. Within a few minutes the Lambda jumped into Hyperspace and was on its way to the rendezvous point at which point they’d head to meet the good Imperial Captain.

“Make yourself comfortable,” Ryder spoke as he walked over to Harbinger again. He produced a datapad and handed it to the Shard. “Perhaps in the time we have you can work up the design of the body you want and compile some notes we can use as evidence against Shen.”

Harbinger just followed along, he'd said enough, more than he'd said in years, and at this point he just needed to relax and let this maelstrom of thoughts in his mind calm down. Upon entering the next hangar, he was pleased to see that even if they galaxy had gone on without him, the classics were still well and truly enjoyed by all. It warmed his core to see what had once been a sign of imperial presence being used for anything but oppression, but then again, these were pirates he found himself in the company of after all.

"Don't mention it Ryder. You saved me from an eternity, stripped of my senses. You don't know what that's like for my kind..." he said as he boarded the shuttle behind his ally, thankful to have chance to make something of himself once again, more so than the revenge that was on his mind. Even as he took a seat in behind the cockpit and leaned back on the wall, it was clear that although he looked very much like a simple droid, Harbinger had retained many of the mannerism's he'd picked up from organics in his travels. Resting his head in his hands, he shut off his photo-receptors and just sat there, decompressing after the turmoil that had been his rebirth into this world.

Sensing there were electronics on the move, he reactived his photo-receptors and looked up at Ryder, he took the data-pad and nodded, attaching a cable from his wrist into the port on the bottom of the device he began to work through designs without needing to touch the pad "Evidence has eluded me honestly. All i have are fragments of memories, and the story of Why, not so much the How. But i'll do my best" he said as he leaned back on the wall, and shut the droid down entirely, focusing on just that data-pad for the time being was going to be enough for the Shard. He needed some alone time, to think, to meditate on the force. Strange as it was for someone who had spent so much time locked up alone, to now be in the presence of organics again was... overwhelming. But soon enough he would be able to start down the path towards retribution and clear the dark stains from his past. His hubris, his arrogance, his... failures. Memories came rushing back to the shard as he sat there in complete isolation, the flickering lines of code on the data-pad soon taking form into and entirely new design, a droid the likes of which the galaxy had never seen before, and would come to understand as a guardian. The Harbinger of change had returned.

She could feel the blaster trained on her, but she would know if he squeezed the trigger. She would not act unless he made the first move. Seeing there was nothing to gain here, she had already began to take her leave, rejoining the Mandalorian in the frey , she would deflect any blaster shots her way but made sure that they did not kill together, they had made their way to the vacant shuttle. It was time to leave, she had a long conversation ahead with Lord Warvanus. One she was not looking forward to.

It was a bit before they were at the shuttle, Vyn boarded first began the power up procedures, while Kinta was keeping the troopers busy still harmlessly deflecting the shots In all directions. Once the shuttle was ready Kinta Vetasa ascended the boarding ramp, and the shuttle began its ascent, going for the fastest exit. It would unload a few shots to disable albeit temporarily their shielding, which would allow them an escape.

Vyn had entered a course in, they were not returning to Karza, the name that Warvanus had given the name of Sojourn’s primary. They would need to change transports just in case they had a tracking device installed. Either way they would return it would just be a bit delayed.

OOC: This is where I am bowing out of the thread, I enjoyed the playage
