Re: A New Story Begins
Arruna listened intently as the Mandalorian confirmed what she had learned on Doornik 628E, that she had finally broken free of the metaphorical chains that had stymied her understanding of the Force. Her pride had blinded her alongside her reliance of familiarity, namely the threads she had constantly been looking for before Doornik 628E and to rely solely on her emotions for strength. Even so, in spite of Colt's positive words, Arruna wasn't entirely convinced that even though she recognized her humility at long last that she didn't need Colt's help anymore. Unfortunately, even as far as she had come, her own self-doubt was still an issue. She still needed the reinforcement and guidance of someone who was far more experienced to reach true understanding, and Arruna wasn't going to ignore that any longer.
After all it was Larek on Doornik 628E who had help her persevere. Yes, she would not ignore Colt's offer anymore. The Blue Star Pirates might be a bit upset that the Twi'Lek would probably be taking another leave of absence, but in the long run it was going to be best for both Arruna and the company. On Jakelia or wherever Colt might take her, would ultimately allow her to grow in understanding and power at the same time. It wasn't like the company was having her undertake any significant missions at the moment, anyway. Yes, after she made this delivery, Arruna would be asking for help from Colt, no matter what.
After Colt finished his piece, Arruna said very little. This exchange of words and what not was about the boy and his future, not Arruna. Consequently, Arruna echoed what Larek had passed onto her.
"As Colt said, what path you choose to take is indeed yours alone, Hanix. Like Colt, I strive to find balance as well. Light and Dark are part of everyone and everything. The trick is to learn to accept that, and to not let one dominant the other, in my experience. Think of a potted plant. What happens to it when there is too much light? And on the flip side of the coin, think about what happens to it when forever sealed in a dark room, where little or no light reaches it. I learned this the hard way," Arruna added before falling silent once more.

Re: A New Story Begins
Hanix sat as he listened to the two, and pondered what they said. It seemed Colton was very interested in teaching him how to use this supposed connection he had to the force; and he had to admit, he was definitely interested in anything that meant he could get off of Naboo. The boy had heard the stories of the Jedi, but he had never known there was more. He never knew that there was a faction called the Sith or that there was anything besides the Jedi. Now though, some things began to make sense. Hanix knew that if the force connected everything, that explained why he got a feeling when some one was near; it explained why he would get a bad feeling about certain people before they ever said a word. This little bit of information made so much sense and put him at ease.
Hanix listened as he heard what his journey along this path would entail, but none of that scared him. What scared him was the idea of being trapped on this planet for the rest of his life; what scared him was the idea of being stuck, living the same mundane life that all the others on Naboo lived. That was not the life for him. Hanix wanted so much more; he wanted adventure and to experience the galaxy; he wanted to write his own story, one that would be told through out the galaxy long after he was gone.
Hanix had already made up his mind when Arruna had begun to speak. He listened to her advice and pondered on it for a minute. He didn't know too much about gardening or plants, but what she said made sense. The boy knew that without sunlight, most plants couldn't grow; so it made sense that too much light would cause a plant to not be able to grow as well. Hanix looked between the two as he gathered his thoughts, and then spoke,"So you are saying that I have a strong connection to The Force? If that is what you're saying, then yes, I want to learn. I want to get out of here and see what the galaxy has in store for me. It doesn't matter what I have to go through, I will succeed, because failure is not an option for me. Failure means I end up back here, and that is not something I want."

Re: A New Story Begins
Colt studied the boy in the Force, then bowed his head slightly.
"You'll see some of the wonders of the galaxy, and true horrors, Arruna can attest to that, as my path is directly in the way of the Sith as a whole, I try to save the ones I can," he said, finally looking at Arruna with a sidelong smirk. Then he stood. "I'm sure my young friend here has a ship of her own, I had heard something about her becoming a Captain," he added, "Or you can set it to auto pilot and join me aboard the Ne'tra kyr'am," he offered, both to Arruna and to Hanix. A trip through hyperspace could often be a lonely experience.
Colt would then slip the golden helmet with it's violet, reflective, T-shaped visor. The helmet hissed into place, and he offered to lead the way.
"The way to Jakelia is a long one, and very dangerous without the proper codes, Mandalorians have a lot of enemies that no one else can see our friends, despite how plentiful they may be," he added, and then he showed his first sign of real affection. An arm draped around Arruna, then nodded.
"I look forward to working with you again, kid," he added.

Re: A New Story Begins
Arruna nodded in agreement as Colt mentioned that she had been promoted to Captain in the company known as the Blue Star Pirates. Curious though that he one that because promotions within the company, like a lot of other things wasn't common knowledge. The only way Colt would've known that was if he was on friendly terms with at least one of Arruna's superiors, and that made her curious on who Colt was in contact with.
Well if anything, then if he was in contact with one of her superiors and on friendly terms with him or her, it would not be difficult to convince her superiors to go with Colt instead of wherever they had planned on sending her after this task.
"Colt is right that I do indeed have a ship of my own, Hanix, and that I was promoted to Captain. Even so Colt, I think it would be best if I joined you on yours, since the journey is so long and the need for proper codes, which I don't possess is crucial for the journey."
A slight pause before she continued with a smile.
"I do have to finish picking the parts up I was tasked with doing, but for the delivery portion of it, it isn't anything my navigation officer and senior staff can't handle. I'll just have to return to my vessel before we depart, so I can ensure everything is punched in correctly, plus gather a few personal items for the journey. And of course I'll have to inform my superiors of my whereabouts in case they need me. After this delivery was completed, I was going to be receiving some new coordinates for me to travel to to do some more Force Training, anyway. At least that was what I last had heard. There shouldn't be any problem with me going with you, instead," Arruna mused.
As she finished her words, Colt by then had offered Arruna his first sign of real affection -an arm draped around the azure Twi'Lek, and Arruna was taken a bit off guard by it, but in a good way. She smiled as she turned to the boy that was going, too and said sincerely,
"I look forward to working alongside you, Hanix," before finishing up with a few last words of her own directed at Colt with a mischievous smile and wink,
"And I too with you Colt, or should I call you Master Hunter now? Thank you, for everything."

Re: A New Story Begins
This was all happening so fast. When he had woken up this morning, he would have never imagined that today would be beginning of an amazing adventure; it would be the beginning of the rest of his life. Excitement wasn't the right word to explain how he felt. Hanix was in shock and was astonished at the opportunity that he had been presented with. The young boy wanted to see what he was capable of. He was ready to see what he could learn and he was ready to explore the galaxy with his new Master.
He listened as Arruna responded to Colton, and smiled slightly as he realized that she would be joining them for at least the first leg of his training. It would be nice to have some one else to train with and guide him as he tries to grow and learn all that he can. Hanix then looked to his Colton, an eager look on his face as he spoke,“So, when do we begin? Are we leaving right away? What's first? Do I call you Master Hunter now?”
Hanix paused for a moment, realizing how he sounded and that it might be a little annoying. He took a slight breath as he stood there for a moment before continuing,“I'm sorry...I am just a little excited. I have always dreamed of leaving this place and being something more then what this planet has for me. I have been ready for this since the day...well, since the day my whole world changed. I am ready to go whenever you are...just lead the way.”

Re: A New Story Begins
Colt studied the pair for a moment, and smirked just a bit.
"Neither of you are slaves, never shall you be, I am no one's Master, I am just your teacher," he told them, "A Master enforces their will and ideology upon those under their 'care', I merely teach you to think for yourselves, and set you on whatever path you wish," he added, "To answer that question, you may call me, simply, Colt," he told them both, then he paused to look at Hanix. "Is there someone we should talk with? Any family? If so, then we should let them know where you are going, if not... then we can head back to my ship and begin a little bit of your training while Arruna finishes up her own business here, mine is complete," he admitted.
He released Arruna then, and sighed.
"I won't lie to either of you either, following me will put you, eventually, into conflict with powerful, wicked beings... Arruna knows them as the Sith," he said, "Eventually, blades will be crossed, it is my goal to give you both the ability to combat that darkness, even if you embrace the Dark Side, never fall to the Sith..." he stated, "But if adventure is what you seek, never will you find a greater one, rife with danger and little reward, but, hopefully, your own codes of honor," he stated. "If you both prove worthy to the Clan, we may even make you Mandalorians, if you wish to pursue that avenue," he offered. Then with a sigh, he nodded toward the landing pad, still a ways away, but there, somewhere, in the distance.
"Landing Pad A, 1922," he told Arruna, "Meet us there, once you're aboard, we'll begin final prep and lift off," he told her, glancing back to the boy, waiting to hear if he did indeed have family.

Re: A New Story Begins
Arruna smiled ever slightly as the young man known as Hanix's eyes seemed to light up like a thousand stars at once with enthusiasm. Arruna couldn't help but reminisce about her first steps toward understanding the Force and compare the difference between Hanix's first steps and here's.
When she had met her first teacher, Dastan her excitement was hard to contain. However, unlike this encounter, Arruna's was far less positive as it had resulted in her committing her first murder. Granted, it had to be done if she was to escape from slavery on Gargon, but still she wished that she had not been so naive back then to believe that the Sith would have actually kept their promises. It would have saved her a lot of heartache and what not.
It all started out okay back then it seemed at the time when Dastan was still her teacher. He still seemed to have a little humanity left back then, but then when Tormentous had swooped her and stole her from him, though she will admit she learned a lot more from him, things changed and Arruna had been so brainwashed at the time that she didn't see what was really happening. Each day she had been losing more and more of her soul to the darkness, and if it hadn't been for her sister Alana, and Colt's haunting words upon first meeting him, Arruna would have been lost a long time ago.
But all that was in the past, even though memories of what she had done during her time there still haunted her, and she knew she shouldn't dwell on it, it was hard to let go.
As Colt mentioned that Hanix's and Arruna's path, should they choose to follow Colt would ultimately lead to crossing paths with the Sith, Arruna would be lying if she said that didn't scare her. She had spent so much time avoiding them at all costs, part of her was convinced she could do that forever. But the truth was running from one's past never got you anywhere, truthfully, and though the Twi'Lek was nervous and scared at the prospect of crossing paths with them, Arruna knew she couldn't truly be free until she faced them again, and finally was able to confront her past and completely rise above it.
"And I would be lying, Colt, if I said confronting them and my past with them didn't frighten and unnerved me. But I know I have to if I am ever going to completely break free and reach my true potential. I'll be there as soon as I finish my business here, which shouldn't be too long. I will see you both very soon. Landing Pad A, 1922, got it."
And with that Arruna continued on her journey.

Re: A New Story Begins
"I only have my guardians," Hanix responded,"They are nice people and all, but they only watch me because they feel sorry for me. I come and go as I please, and they never question where I was or who I was with." It was true sadly; with his parents gone, there was no one left that truly loved or cared about him. The boy looked out for himself; the only thing his new family, if that is what you could call it, did for him was provide him with food and a place to sleep. They never treated him like he was their own kid. "I am ready to go whenever you are. There is nothing keep me here."
Hanix looked to Colton first and then over to Arruna as she spoke. He could hear in her voice how she didn't look forward to encountering what Colton and her referred to as The Sith. The boy had no idea who or what they were, but he knew that one day they would tell him and teach him; they would explain to him why they were so vile and dangerous. The thought of a group that brought fear into the heart of two force users brought a little fear into his, but he knew that one day he would have to face off against them, and he vowed to himself that he would be ready when that time came.
"I look forward to seeing you again, Arruna." Hanix responded,"I look forward to getting to train with you on our journey." Part of him knew that the two of them wouldn't go easy on him, but he also looked forward to it. The boy went hard on himself and always pushed himself to be the best that he could be. He was going to succeed by any means. The thought of it made him smile slightly as Arruna made her way to settle her affairs before their departure. He then looked back to Colton, and spoke,"I am ready to make our way to ship whenever you are, Colt."

Re: A New Story Begins
Colt merely smiled at Arruna for a long moment, then bowed his head.
"Courage is a funny thing, it isn't an absence of fear, but acting in spite of it," he told them both, and he let Arruna depart. He listed to Hanix's tale, and nodded, walking with him. Their was a light breeze coming through the trees as they walked, a breeze Colt's armor blocked, but he felt it all the same. He could feel the ebb and flow of the very Force... the life all around him. Yet he felt no real connection to Naboo, not like he had to Jakelia, which wasn't even the planet he was born on. No, Dxun was lost to him and his clan...
"The Force," he said after a several steps of utter silence, "Is a lot like thread, connecting to all things, there are light aspects that with experience allows you to defend yourself and others, and heal even the most grievous wound... and dark aspects, which can allow a person to harm others, lightning sparking from your finger tips, closing the airways of another... or afflicting them with various toxins and diseases... the Jedi focus on the light. They see themselves as guardians of peace and tranquility. The Sith focus on the Dark, they strive only for more power, to grow stronger, conquering and enslaving those they deem weak. The two sides have always been at war with one another because of those spectrums, but no one has to be confined by their credos..." he paused to look at him.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me."
The words echoed softly off the trees.
"That is the code of the Sith, their ideals, their beliefs. Narrow minded in it's structure, but so too are the Jedi we have in the galaxy now, for their own code:"
"There is no emotion, there is peace,
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge,
There is no passion, there is serenity,
There is no chaos, there is harmony,
There is no death, there is the Force."
He paused for a moment to let those words sink in as well.
"The Jedi's ideals, their believes. The opposite end of the spectrum to the Sith's, another extreme view on what I believe is true... though you may find something else to be true, this is my belief... The code is what the Jedi's code used to be," he explained.
"There is emotion, yet peace,
There is ignorance, yet knowledge,
There is passion, yet serenity,
There is chaos, yet harmony,
There is death, yet the Force,"
He told him, then turned to continue walking, toward the landing pad still about a mile out, his legs easily carrying him the distance.
"The Force shall free me," he added. "You see, the Dark Side feeds on negative emotions, such as anger and hate, even fear... but I've learned that to keep your emotions bottled up is to risk damaging yourself and others, you see, the Sith think they command the Force, but the Jedi understand one thing... The Force is greater than any of us, and we cannot control it, merely channel its essence, we are conduits to the Force, these wars we wage are the same we wage inside of ourselves, always in battle with the light and the dark, there is an evil man within every good, and a good man within every evil... it's merely what you chose to do with your life that makes you light or dark," he added.
"Or like myself, walk the razor's edge, feed on the Dark, embrace it, but never succumb to it, and channel the light," and with that, they had made it to the Skipray Blastboat that Colt had arrived in, a black assault fighter with room for several people, blue and purple trim made up the accents. The inside was fairly spartan in appearance, though several surfaces, tables and counter tops in the cramped galley was covered with bits and pieces of broken technology. This would be where Hanix would finally begin his journey, whichever path he chose.
((OOC: And tomorrow is day ten for you, Hanix! You can then go ahead and sign up and make your character official, and we can start a new thread in the General RP section, welcome to Sithlore! Hope you stick around))
