The Shadow order found itself at the brink of war. The Imperials hunted down the Capasites, old imperial projects from and era where the Sith and Empire were one. Kal Strife had already tracked both Xavius Bain and Vechlin Alltemi to the world of Daemonis with a large fleet as his disposal. The enigmatic Shadow Order, thought to have been hidden in the stars, were unprepared and ill equipped with portions of its fleet scattered. In the eyes of the blinded Shadow council, It wasn't quite clear how the Imperial was able to track them, but perhaps Strife's history with the Shadows played its part. Rogan Drayen and several key members to the Shadow Order defected, leaving the Patriarch, who fought against the mutiny and emerged victorious, alone with no powerful allies. The Sith warrior, Rani Churs had offered is assistance since both the Shadow Order and Sith found a common enemy in the Empire. Although it seemed Rani Churs was unable to directly support the Patriarch, many Sith warriors where ordered to fight alongside the Shadow warriors. The CSA had discussed business propositions but were unable to carry out any kind of alliance prior to the attack.
It wasn't long before the empire closed in on the unsuspecting world, just before the plans both force factions had in place to strike first were capable of being implemented. The battle was lost before it even began. The Sith fleet had warped out of Daemonis space as soon as the Imperial fleets were detected, writing the battle off as a loss and retreating before the Sith fleet would lose numbers meaninglessly. Rani Churs was never seen by a Shadow after that grim day.
Without powerful allies at his side, Vechlin Alltemi was unable to communicate and muster the full might of his fleet before the Shadow's new home world was razed and glassed. Large cannons fired down upon the world raining hellfire. The casualties were too high to account for. Shadow defectors Rogan Drayen, Cel Drayen, Jarekk Oriel and Ken Ishigami had left the world in their persuit of Zonama Sekot, a living world which the Shadow Order once dwelt after the destruction of both Dathomir and New Dathomir. They were never heard from again. Tryjo Sebo, a rising initiate, was the only remaining high ranking personnel in the order and carried out his loyal duties during the initial assault. The Initiate had even been pronounced the new Patriarch during the battle as Vechlin had stated his suicidal mission and could not issue more orders.
The available Shadow warships and fighters were deployed instantly by Tryjo Sebo, but to no avail as the sheer number of Imperial ships covered space with blaster fire, gunning nearly 80 percent of the defensive fleet detachment down. Vechlin watched his empire fall to its knees within hours of the initial assault but did not surrender his remaining forces. A single cloaked vessel with bothhimself and the newly appointed leader, Tryjo, flew outward on a suicide run with the Imperial flagship, a tactic that Vechlin was known for in his guerrilla tactics taught by Luca, the prior Shadow Patriarch. A small squad sized element was able to breach the capital ship and cause serious damage to the main communications array before being gunned down by Imperial special forces, including Kal Strife, who happened to be a powerful force user in secret. The confrontation left both of the Shadow masters injured. The masters were able to escape due to small skirmishes of Shadow warships and fighters that continually flew hit and run passes. The two found their way to an Imperial shuttle and warped out far from Daemonis space. A final transmission was sent out to the remaining fleets across the galaxy, beckoning the Shadows to go into hiding. It is unclear whether or not the remaining forces carried out this final directive, or if they had taken up new pastures within the galaxy. The destruction of their new home world along with the destruction of the fleet's most symbolic flagships were the final bullet.
The Shadow Order as the galaxy knew it was no more.
