Justice(BK, Buggie)

Prazutis stood idly as his delta shuttle was engulfed in the atmospheric flames of the now death-filled planet of Jedha, what was once a desert planet that held many a city and temple of the force's light side, now reduced to a molten landfill to rival Mustafar, in most of the planet. And the rest? Barren, grey wasteland.

Prazutis initiated the emergency beacon that he had found on his old droid, the beacon held with a recorded message from the Jedi master on it.

"This is Jedi Master Looc’yug, requesting assistance from any Jedi in the area. I'm currently in imperial space, responding to communications from a possible POW who is in need of assistance. Any Jedi or Rangers in the area, please follow the coordinates locked onto this device."

Prazutis had gotten lucky. No specifics were mentioned about him going to Spintir, and no note of Neive Specifically. That meant all he needed to do was keep the device's coordinates locked once he set down on the surface.

The delta shuttle soon set down on a flatter portion of land, and Prazutis stepped off the loading ramp once it dropped. He took the device, ensuring the coordinates were set for his current location, and set the device on the ground. He wasn't sure who it was that would be seeking to aid the long dead Jedi, but he was ready for whoever it would be.

"Stay in the shuttle. It'll be a fair distance away, but if your services are needed, I'll call upon you."

Inside the shuttle, besides the droids, sat 3 members of the Empire's new projects: The Stratus group. Although Prazutis saw them not as a squad, and more of a Clan in of themselves, group was what best fit these men. Cold, calculating, but working in tandem for their goals, not in a military fashion, but in their own unorthodox methods used to best most any Jedi in combat.

"Maybe you could call on us before it's said and done? We could definitely show you our own skills."

Prazutis looked back, speaking briefly but sternly.

"If you are seen by any Jedi, that Jedi must be killed. We do not need them knowing of your group until the time is right."

The men contemplated before one of them nodded, the shuttle picking itself up once more and closing the loading ramp, moving away from the area. Prazutis took a moment before he shot up a small cliff, and from there, he began to draw upon the force, corrupting the area around him slightly more than it already was, enveloping himself in dark energy.

“Take us in, R5.” Ben had finally come to the conclusion to respond to the recorded message; he’d received the recording some eighteen hours prior and while he’d never heard of Master Looc’yug, he made a transmission back to a nearby Jedi Enclave who was able to verify that indeed there was a Jedi Master by that name and that he’d been listed as missing for several weeks at this point, which was closing in on a month or more.

Being a Jedi Sentinel at heart, naturally Ben was immediately both concerned of this message and suspicious of it. Typically if a Jedi Master went missing with no trace to his wellbeing or whereabouts it meant the worst had happened and in the best of times he was stranded after some calamity had befallen his communications and/or transportation which was never a good thing to begin with anyways. Nothing good surrounded this recording. Of that Ben Kenobi was absolutely certain… but he could not simply ignore the message either despite his grave suspicions of this being a trap.

For one, if Master Looc’yug was indeed in dire straits then it was his duty as a Sentinel whose operational jurisdiction often had him in what could be called ‘enemy’ territory and he had the ability and opportunity to intervene and possibly rescue or otherwise assist Looc’yug in this instance. And secondly, if this was a foul distress call to lure in his brethren of the Coalition then it was he that sat in the appropriate position to intercept the transmission and shut it down before others may be lured to it and cast into the wake of Looc’yug’s possible fate.

Ben viewed what remained of Jedah and he often wondered how the world hadn’t died as a result of the Empire’s wrathful spite. Shattered on an entire hemisphere, the world was a crippled mess barely clinging to existence and very likely whatever remained of its habitable classifications. No doubt the Force alone is what held this place together from otherwise having an atmospheric breakdown and extinguishing all life in the blink of an eye. It was saddening really to see the remains and know that this was another atrocity that the Empire had essentially gotten away with. How many lives lost here? On Scarif? On the other test beds of the Death Star? On Alderaan? Justice had not been paid in full for the amount of destruction wrought. An eye for an eye; this was not the case. The best that could be gleaned was but a status quo and the comfort in that the tools of destruction were no more… but the capacity to do the exact same… it was still very much there.

He took in a deep breath after moving to the exit ramp of the Talon, he needed to clear his mind of the gloom and doom. Suspecting ill to come from this mission, he didn’t need the darkness of the overall situation to continue to cloud his judgment. Utilizing several mental exercises he calmed his mind and soothed his soul. It would still be a few minutes before his YT 2000 breached the atmosphere as his droid tracked the oscillating recording. In the meantime he would prepare himself and remind himself once more that all he needed was a little patience and in time, all would be revealed…

**Freestanding Subsectors**
**Burke's Trailing Smuggling Route**
**Helix-class Light Interceptor**

"...Any Jedi or Rangers in the area, please follow the coordinates locked onto this device."

Buggie ruminated on the message for a few moments after playback had ceased. He was currently escorting a convoy of Blue Star Pirate cargo ferries down the western edge of the charted galaxy, and the coordinates he had received from Jedi Master Looc'yug's message were less than a standard day's travel away. This close to the borders of the Unknown Regions, it was possible that a Jedi or Antarian Ranger could respond sooner, but at the same time, if every recipient of the message carried that mindset, Master Looc'yug would be stranded for a very long time!

With that in mind, Buggie activated his shipboard comm unit and sent a brief transmission to the convoy that he had received a distress signal on a Jedi frequency and wished to investigate it further. Fortunately for this convoy, ample escort protection had been provided, which otherwise seemed to be at a premium these days. The convoy could afford Buggie falling out, especially if it meant that the Blue Star Pirates might have one more favor from the Jedi in their ledger.
---

Ten Hours Later...

Buggie dropped out of hyperspace just outside the outer orbit of NaJedha, a pink and purple hued planet covered by oceans and crystalline formations. The powerful navigation computer aboard Buggie's Helix-class light interceptor updated with the change in proximity to Master Looc'yug's beacon. It appeared that the beacon itself was not on the planet, but rather its ruined moon, Jedha. The moon, partially destroyed in a purported mining accident, looked as if it had a chunk bitten out of it. Portions of the moon still glowed red-hot, and crevasses gouged the surface, crisscrossing until they climbed down into the massive crater that had wiped away the settlement once known as Jedha City.

Groaning at the sight of the ruined moon, Buggie wondered aloud, "What business did Master Looc'yug have here?"

Prazutis waited patiently for hour after hour, losing himself within the endless boundaries of his mind, meditation flowing and taking him to places he could not imagine.

One point, he remained on jedha, standing over he dead body of Ben Kenobi. His goal had become complete, and finally Neive Undant was only a name that would never emanate from anyone’s mouth again.

Another, of Neive sitting on Naboo, on a remote field near a humble cabin, Aaida Grintori sitting beside him. Peace...

Still another, of Prazutis’ armor, laying prone before Tormentous, the darkness that plagued the galaxy all that time ago now returned with a vengeance, and now more powerful than ever. Fear, hate, and death ravaged the galaxy.

Prazutis came back to his wits as he felt two presences pierce the darkness that surrounded Jedha, both of them strong in the light enough to create a large disturbance in the force. Immediately, Prazutis calmed himself, lowering his own presence within the darkness of the barren, vaporized hemisphere of this world.

Prazutis let the two presences set their ships down, the beacon continuing He playback to attract them both to the exact spot that Prazutis would confront them from. His lightsaber cling to his side, along with the empty saber hilt that had belonged to the long destroyed Jedi master, the same who had created the original message that would now attract 2 more of his allies to meet a similar fate.

Updates on the beacon were clear; the locator was active and calling whoever would hear it to an exact location. Not so vague as within a grid square but in fact the precise location of the alarm. A trap if there ever was one so Ben suspected. The obvious nature surrounding this beacon screamed it. Alas it was duty that saw Ben’s boot crunch down on the surface of the moon moments after landing at a distance roughly three hundred meters away from the site which itself was located within the eve of a small plateau and directly in the center of a small clearing.

The Talon’s approach was not hidden and so whoever this was or hopefully even Master Looc’yug himself would see the distant YT 2000 set down inside the nook of a natural saddle that descended from the plateau so that the vessel itself was beyond visual sight. It wasn’t so much to hide its presence as it was to keep it within cover.

Once the ramp ascended and sealed, Ben Kenobi set off up the rise and he climbed the gentle slope with the effort of his walking staff, his hood covering his features from the harsh wind that continued to blast the area. On his wrist was a small tracker that occasionally pinged the location of the beacon though he was already close enough he’d not need it. Unable to sense any specific danger surrounding the area he continued to climb until finally he crested the hillside and in that moment the wind picked up and swept the tail of his robes and cloak to the side.

Ben gazed across the blasted landscape and while three hundred meters was a moderate distance he could see the single silhouette of a man standing out in the open. The distance was too great for the naked eye to pick out any detail in order to gain knowledge of who this individual was but by his stance alone Ben could tell he was not here for a kindly meeting. There was also no clear set of extended horns on this man which were trademark of the Devaronian species of which Master Looc’yug hailed. Ben began to feel cold at this knowledge as the ill fate of the missing Jedi Master began to reveal itself in all but the most vivid of confirmations.

He swallowed hard but he refused to conflict himself with the nature of this dark revelation. Master Looc’yug was not dead until Ben laid eyes on him directly. Looking out upon the open terrain with the wind at his back, Ben Kenobi began to descend the hill and approach the sole occupant of the clearing…

Buggie studied his sensor readings as he drew closer to the ruined moon within his starship. He didn't expect much to show up on the sensors, and he certainly wasn't surprised when they didn't report much back to him. As he passed through the atmosphere, his Helix-class light interceptor's powerful sensor package picked up on a small shuttle craft moving out of the area, but that in itself was not remarkable. Mining colonies had moved onto Jedha in the decades since the catastrophe that had rendered its crust. Whatever business the mining companies had with this moon, they likely weren't receptive to Jedi distress signals-- their sensors were more likely to be tuned to finding mineral deposits.

As Buggie drew closer still, a light freighter whose transponder the sensors recognized appeared on the scopes. As Buggie studied his shipboard console, he saw that the YT-series freighter in question was none other than the Talon, the vessel famously belonging to Jedi Master Ben Kenobi. His presence here was a relief, and certainly things would be well in hand if Master Kenobi had already arrived to rescue Master Looc'yug. Buggie briefly considered turning away once he had recognized Master Kenobi's presence, but just in case Master Looc'yug needed medical attention, he decided against it.

Since the Talon was situated within a natural formation that made it difficult to put down his own vessel nearby, Buggie settled in on a flat piece of ground, a little further than the Talon from a small cliff that jutted out, overlooking the area. Once he had finished the landing procedure, Buggie stepped off of his own ship's boarding ramp, not bothering to seal it back up in case the Jedi needed to get back on in the event of a medical emergency.

Buggie had been so focused on his ship's sensors that he did not notice an armor-clad figure openly perched atop the small cliff during his landing procedure. Instead, he hurried over to the Talon to see if Master Kenobi was still aboard.

Prazutis observed the two ships. Both of the figures that exited from the vessels... both had a familiarity to them.
"Jedi..." Prazutis said quietly to himself as he unhooked his lightsaber from its belt loop, then unhooking his High Inquisitor cowl. He needed as much flexibility and maneuvering ability in this encounter as possible.

Prazutis looked down on his communicator, speaking into it while he watched one hooded figure approach the location Prazutis had set, and another making his way over as well.

"Captain... as soon as you arrive, have Nimbus squad make their way here. Our targets have arrived."

Captain Krein of Nimbus command stood firm as their imperial transport fell from hyperspace, recieving the transmission not long after they were in range of the planet.

"Copy that, High Inquisitor. We're on our way. Don't have all the fun before we arrive."

Prazutis turned his comm off, losing signal with the group as he looked back to the two Jedi. One, he wasn't sure of his identity, his robes covered most of his body, but Prazutis knew he had a colored past with the man. The other, respectively, was too far out from the location for Prazutis to get a clear view. however, he could feel his own anger swell up at the sight of the Jedi. Both of them, he had a deep hatred for now, but one, Prazutis felt a flicker of compassion for...

"Kenobi."

It hadn’t been but a few careful steps down the sloping hillside when another starship arrived and with generous yet careful haste, set down some short distance beyond the position of the Talon. Unfortunately he’d been so focused on the individual out in the open yonder that he’d not been able to catch sight of the incoming vessel; had he done so he’d have picked out the rare and specialized craft. But now he beheld the situation with tension.

Unknowns to the fore, unknowns to the rear, and the unknown wellbeing of a Jedi Master in need. His face wrinkled into a slight frown as the Darkside of the Force began to cloud the situation. He could turn back now and play it safe. Get back to the Talon and obtain the identity of the newcomer as well as get some additional scans of the area now that he knew where to look. No, he felt doubt. This sort of over cautious approach was better suited for the Consulars who took the time to seek out all the facts before taking action. While a wise approach in itself, Ben Kenobi was not so careful in the extreme and he tended to venture forward into the twilight rather than playing it safe and awaiting the dawn. His nature on part with Looc’yug’s distress beacon set his next foot forward and before long he found himself at the base of the long hill and on even ground with the mysterious being within the clear area.

With each crunch of the boot Ben found himself ponderously closer and with every heavy fall of the heel he felt the weight of the Darkness grow as the proximity of this being and himself began to narrow. Everything in Ben’s training told him that to confront this man was to kindle an uncontrolled condition of which had an outcome completely shrouded. To confront this man would likely reveal something he didn’t want to truly know… and it wasn’t necessarily Master Looc’yug’s whereabouts.

Further steps brought him closer to within shouting range of the man, yet Ben would not be so obtuse to call out from this distance. However now he was permitted to steal some detail in the man’s being. He was wearing armor, that much was clear but the colors were distorted by the chaotic hues of Jedha’s sky. A helmet hid the face, his stance was of preparedness, he was holding something in his hand and from familiarity with said devices he anticipated that it was a lightsaber. Still there was no recognition of Looc’yug.

Ben was never one to worry over a situation, his calm demeanor always managed to pierce the veil of darkness no matter the density of its shroud. Lately though Kenobi had been surrounded by the pitfalls of fate more than he’d preferred and his mood was low, for the first time in a long time he did not feel good about his situation and he came to a stop a good distance from this mystery foe, planting his staff in the ground and letting the wind kick up his robes and cloak.

In that moment, when the Darkness began to settle in with the heaviest weight thus far, Ben felt warmth in the back of his mind. A soothing confidence trickle within the range of his perception. A pinprick of light and confidence amid a backdrop of gloom and terror. The light began to grow slightly with each passing moment until Ben fully felt what it meant and as if someone had flipped a switch, his own dread and dismay were washed aside and his frown shattered into neutrality followed by a confident concentration. Focused by the simple proximity of one he knew so well, his eyes trained solidly on the man ahead and though they were still well out of any comfortable range for verbal communication Ben raised his voice to carry through the wind.

“I’ve come for Jedi Master Looc’yug.” The obvious note that he was tracking a distress call that led him to this exact spot notwithstanding, if anything, that statement alone was enough to resemble the following question: ‘What did you do with him?’

"Knock, knock!" Buggie called, rapping on the boarding ramp with his chitinous fist.

As Buggie's hand made contact with the hull of the ship, the Force opened itself to him. In an instant, his mind was filled with vivid imagery of the ship's owner, Jedi Master Ben Kenobi, striding off over the craggy terrain. More than that, Buggie could feel the Human Jedi Master's perturbation over the distress signal and the moon itself. As quickly as this information flooded into Buggie's mind, the imagery stopped, and Buggie was brought back to the moment. Now knowing where his Jedi companion had gone, Buggie immediately straightened his armorweave jacket and checked to make sure his blaster and lightsaber were situated at his hip and belt, respectively.

If Master Kenobi held such palpable discomfort, Buggie realized that he needed to pay that serious consideration. Buggie had only footed across the rugged ground for a moment before his senses picked up on something new; a dark presence in the distance, flaring its aura as if to signal its presence to him. There was danger ahead, and Master Kenobi was likely already in the thick of it.

That was all Buggie needed to know to pick up the pace along the hillsides and make his way ahead toward where his senses had picked up the disturbance.

Prazutis stood, grabbing the empty saber of the fallen Jedi and examining it before opening his armor’s hand, reaching out with the force to grip the hilt and hold it in place before Prazutis went it flying, walking at a slow pace behind it as the hilt flew, soon bouncing off the rocky ground and rolling to a halt not far in front of Kenobi’s staff and feet. Although it was a small, seemingly meaningless gesture, the item itself would prove to be an ominous gesture at the fate of the Master.

“Entering the lower atmosphere. We are undetected, though due to the terrain, we’ll have to land a good distance away.”

Krein looked over the ground, and the three figures, though they were a decent distance away. The ship had to move even further to land, however, and as preparations to land were being made, Nimbus prepared themselves for the combat at hand. 2 Jedi against one High Inquisitor, with the 4 Nimbus soldiers preparing to make landfall and then make their way towards the quarrel, which by that time will have already been winding down. It seemed win or lose for the Inquisitor, the Nimbus would simply be arriving to pick the weak, fatigued bones of the Jedi who have arrived unknowingly to face the imperial.
