Hello! I am kind of new here and wanted to ask some questions. I have already created a character, but I was wondering how you can officially join a faction? Personally, I was hoping to join the Empire. I have already posted in “Docking Bay.” Do I need to do anything else in order to start? Finally, how do items, ships, and battles work. Sorry for bothering anyone.

To answer your question, you have to rp for 10 days in the docking bay thread after 10 days you register on sithlore.com and once you are in there then you can officially join a faction

Salutations Loyal Citizen! Know that the Empire will be most happy to have you join the ranks of our time-honored starfighter corps. While we ask for nothing more than your courage and physical presence in a thread, Kell is exactly right that you must be active in the Bay for a period of ten days. Furthermore, I would call to your attention that the loathsome Corellian government has been affiliated with the rebel cause for some time, and may not be the ideal origin place for your character- so far as academies are concerned. Similarly, while Tatooine is host to an Imperial Embassy for trade and diplomatic liaisons with the Hutts, it does not have much in the way of a local squadron, so your efforts may be better spent elsewhere. If you have any Imperial inquiries, please feel free to reach out to me in a PM, and know that a representative of our glorious government will be sent to join you IC post-haste. Until then, happy trails, and welcome aboard~

The beginning process is as stated before. Get some baseline roleplaying going in the docking bay. After ten days, you can apply to join a faction on the mechanics side- the "SLIU"- the Sith Lore Interactive Universe[?]. You'll likely have Doren be able to show you all that stuff- he's your man!

Saying it here rather than in the Docking Bay, welcome to SithLore! Your question on ships and items, they are all in a store held within the SLIU(sithlore interactive universe, aka sithlore.com ) and are bought with credits that you can obtain by being in your faction, or participating in the space lanes, which Buggie or the others could explain better than I. But other than that, welocme to Sithlore, hope you enjoy your time here!
