Another journey
Re: Another journey
It was quiet in hyperspace for once, Brutus felt uneasy about that. Usually there was an attack, but the quiet was a change. "So what do we do with silence?" Brutus asked over the com. He was uncertain. "Just take it easy and remain alert." The grand Inquisitor said over the com. Brutus didn't know if taking it easy would be a good idea, but he would listen.
She enjoyed the quiet for a change, it was good not to be attacked all the time. Brutus came over the com, he wasn't sure how to act with the quiet. Kota smiled a little under her helm. "Just take it easy and remain alert." She said. He would have to learn that there were quiet times as well.

Re: Another journey
Haly looked miserable. Rhoden looked annoyed. "New rule: You can't play with us." he said, Jorvan smiled as he swept their credits off the table, "I won't need to once I've gotten my small fortune." Rhoden sat back and thought for a moment, "You know we should really start bringing the rest of the crew along on these runs." he said. "Or we could throw Jorvan in the fighter and have... other kinds of fun." Haly raised a bottle of carbonated beverage in salute to Jorvan.
"Then you'd get shot at and wish I was manning that turret." he said, "I dunno, you seem like a bad luck charm..." Rhoden said raising his hands up. Jorvan made a gesture generally considered very rude.

Re: Another journey
Ryder’s grey eyes stared out the view port at the blue vortex, his hand casually holding a mug of Dantooine Earth Tea. He sipped the warm beverage, enjoying the slight kick of spice as he swallowed. It had been awhile since Ryder had enjoyed a simple quiet moment and he was going to enjoy it while it lasted. Kyber, one of his two Kath hounds, nudged his empty hand, wanting a bit of attention.
Ryder smiled as he looked down at the hound, “sorry boy, been awhile hasn’t it?” He gave the white and red hound a scratch on the head. “I’ll try to make it up to you soon.” The hound seemed to understand, and flopped down next to the command chair.
“Sir, dropping out of hyperspace at the first beacon.” Came the voice of Black Star’s navigational Officer.
Grey eyes dashed up just as the blue faded and revealed a breathtaking view of the galactic ring. Ryder took in the view for a few seconds before his eyes moved to the ships sensors.
“All clear sir,” came another crew members voice.
“Good, send out the next set of coordinates and make the jump.”
Within a minutes all vessel in the convoy received the navigational data for the next league of their journey and promptly vanished back into hyperspace.

Re: Another journey
The drop out of hyperspace was smooth, there was no sign of any trouble. A good sign that this might be the easiest shipment Brutus had ever done. New coordinates were put in, he once again carefully put them in. He followed suit with the convey and jumped again. He felt more comfortable this time and was ready for everything or at least he thought so. There still might be something waiting for them at the end.
She could see Brutus getting used to the quiet, it was good for him to see this side of the shipping lanes. He knew what to expect when he encountered this in the future. Kota pushed the button to put in the new coordinates, she too would follow suit. It was nice to see the adjustment from attack to quiet so quickly. It meant that Brutus was capable of adjusting quickly or developing it.

Re: Another journey
Jorvan stood and left for his turret, as the ship dropped out of its first hyperspace jump, rreoriented, and entered onto the second. "You're paranoid, Jorvan. We're in the clear now." he yelled to his friend. Indeed it was unlikely that there would be any kind of traffic on their next few jumps. "Paranoia is what's kept me alive." Rhoden laughed, "No. That's what I've done." there was only laughter in response.
Haly arched an eyebrow at him, "You could vent the atmosphere from the gunner's position." she suggested slyly. Rhoden sighed, "Yeah, but like I said--he's paranoid. He'll have his helmet on. Actually he probably sliced a block into the coding so I can't vent atmosphere while he's inside." she smiled sweetly, "He did. I.. .ah... fixed it." she giggled and Rhoden narrowed his eyes. "I didn't know you knew how to slice." he said, she giggled again, "Some skills you want off-record..."
Rhoden leaned back, "What else have you hidden from me?" he asked suspiciously. She smiled widely, "Just a few holocams." she said. "Where?" he asked. She shrugged, "Oh, nowhere." her eyes flicked downwards briefly and she gave an exaggerated wink. Rhoden's face reddened and his eye twitched briefly. There was a crackle over the comm.
"If I find a camera in my shower the last thing you see will be my wet, naked, body throwing you in a food processor." Jorvan said, "I didn't need that mental image." Rhoden said, pushing the heels of his hands into his eyes. "I really didn't need that mental image."

Re: Another journey
Monitoring the systems on his TIE Defender, he sat patiently awaiting whatever was to come. Raiding had become largely frequent as of late and he didn’t think that the piratical forces arrayed against them were so well equipped to have an interdictor at their disposal, regardless he was alert and prepared for anything. His Defender was operating beyond optimal levels and all combat and defensive systems were standing by. With no one to talk to, he only had the actions and repetitive action of checking over systems and ensuring beyond reasonable doubt that his vessel was prepared to respond to any situation.
It was almost relaxing for once; he didn’t have to worry about the stresses of the Admiralty or the worries of command. All he had to do here was fly and respond. There was literally nothing else. Suddenly he realized in this moment of relaxation of how fatigued he was. He’d been going for so long he couldn’t recall the last time he’d taken any personal leave.
Perhaps, after this shipment was completed, he’d look into it a bit more. But for now...
The convoy dropped out of hyperspace and so far everything seemed well.

Re: Another journey
The convoy dropped out and back into hyperspace maybe a dozen more time before they were on the final league. The journey had been uneventful for a change as the navigational officer notified the bridge that they were approaching their final destination. A moment later and the entire convoy dropped back into real space and began docking procedures with Outpost Alpha-832.
Ryder stood up and gave the overseeing of the transfer to CE. The droid complied and began relaying orders to the work crew. With that Ryder headed down to the small hanger where he boarded his personal shuttle. He waited there till most of the business was concluded and the credits transferred before proceeding to launch and make the trip back into the galaxy.

Re: Another journey
An uneventful convoy was a successful one and that was exactly what they'd been granted. Argus' TIE was spooling down as the BFF-1 Bulk Freighter pulled into a cavernous hangar to be swarmed by loading droids and additional staff.
Popping the seals on his canopy, Argus disembarked the Defender. It was time to get a hot meal and hit the refresher, then it was back to work... For the Empire, there was always more to do.

Re: Another journey
Rhoden walked down the Firehawk's ramp and stretched. He was in the familiar hangar of Utopia. While not quite Imperial standard it was, unlike the rest of the station, not what could seriously be called luxurious--though the aesthetics present did give at least some illusion to the contrary of this fact.
Rhoden looked around and spotted the Grand Admiral, he walked over and held out his hand, "You look like you could use a break." he said, "Maybe spend some time here." he smiled, "You're well aware of the facilities at our disposal--I implore you make use of them." he said. There was a beep from his wrist before the Admiral could reply and he sighed, "Enjoy your visit." he said, smiling ruefully, "I've got to deal with all the supplies and new equipment."
Rhoden rushed off and yanked a foreman to the side by his arm, "Ow! Ge' off me!" he said, rubbing his arm, Rhoden tapped the man's datapad with his finger, "Everything from this ship goes straight to R&D." he said, the man nodded irritably, "And I'll need a crew to offload the equipment on the Firewhawk." he said, gesturing to the ship. "Right, right. Cherik! Get up!" the man bellowed at a man lying amongst several containers. The man jerked upright, probably from sleep, and he stood and hurried over, followed by nine others who crept out of the same stack of crates or moved over from other tasks."
Rhoden rushed about and began directing them, ensuring the equipment remained sealed and was handled with care. He sighed, it would be the work of several hours to make sure the job was done and done well--but it was better than having to replace something stolen or broken.

Re: Another journey
The sworl of Hyperspace kept her interest for only so long. The curves of the ship she had adhered to was in the way of some of the view, which annoyed her to some level. So she occupied herself on the many ways she could potentially kill everyone on board the other ship. It wasn't as satisfying as actually doing it, but it kept her busy at least. She hummed to herself, swaying in her seat, before she spoke.
"Put a hole in the side, open all the doors, cut all power, see how long the last person lasts," she said. Her droid companion, situated behind her, slowly turned his head to look toward her.
"Amusement: Nice one, Mistress, I wish I could assist you in your fantasies, but those are Imperial lives and I am woefully unable to take them, nor can I imagine it, as much as I long to," Belfor said.
"Torture until they admit to being rebels and let you loose," she added.
"Pride: Mistress! That is truly devious! I love it!" the back and forth continued as they remained, cloaked, and stuck to the side of the lead ship, the populace inside got to remain safe. They were lucky, for Argus was nearby... she'd behave.
