Beta Site Migration

The purpose of this topic is to explain the character migration process.

Firstly, you don't really need to do anything special to migrate your character over to the new BETA site. You will find your way naturally to the BETA Migration Page the first time you do something which requires it (at the moment that's visit the store).


But before I explain what happens lets look at why we need to do this.


On the new site we are changing the way that players log in.
Rather than logging in to your character account you will instead log in to a USER account where the username will be your EMAIL address rather than your character name. Your Character will simply belong to your user account, and in the future if you de-activate your character you will be able to create a new character within your existing USER account. Both of these characters will belong to your user account (although of course only one of them can be active at any one time).


Therefore nobody will ever need more than one User Account (and it is in fact illegal to have more than one).


The Migration Process


So, when you first use a feature on the BETA site you will need a User Account. The way you get one is simply to register with your main Email Address, your existing Character Name and Password that you use to log in to the old site at www.sithlore.com.
You will then be sent a confirmation email to the address you provided, with a link you must click to confirm the migration process.


If you attempt to access the store without having Migrated your Character you will automatically be taken to the Migration Page. Once you have done this you will never have to do it again, and the system will remember you.


The Email Address you choose will be your username for the future, so please do pick one you plan on using for a long time. It will be possible to change the email address in the future (although not but it's better if you do not.
Also, obviously make sure you type it correctly- if you get it wrong you will NOT be able to re-apply for migration, and we will have to manually delete your Migration Application.


If for some reason you do not get the confirmation email you will have to contact us with the details you provided.


The Character Name and Password MUST be typed EXACTLY as they are on the existing website, or the system will not recognise you.
