Decision Regarding Dragons in Hero's End

Post by Master Buggie » Wed Jun 23, 2021 10:14 pm

With regard to this post. Slade referred me to this thread for how/why/when this "Famine" dragon was established. Finding nothing related to the development of this dragon within that thread, and no mention to any staff members requesting that this dragon be created, the staff members and I have agreed to a number of corrective actions. Before I get into what those are, please be aware that for anything highly modified, highly specialized, highly unique or controversial, you should contact a staff member. The reason for the "development thread" rule is so that something silly or overpowered doesn't end up in roleplay. Two things to bear in mind with development threads. First, anything you're developing is for RP flavor only; it will never affect a generation and anything you develop can be destroyed, just like any NPC or anything not bound to the SLIU. Finally, anything developed should grant you only a slight advantage in RP; things you've developed are under no circumstances a means to achieve easy wins.

In this specific case, a flying dragon that has molten hot blood and can spread scales that make any organic go crazy is obviously not something kosher for this community. First, we're a Star Wars community, not a fantasy community. Second, that's incredibly overpowered and leaves no room for another player to counter it. Slade did consult Sal in 2017 about Wrath, an Arkanian Dragon that was proposed to be used as a pet. This was approved with no further word requirement to obtain that dragon, from what I saw. Wrath and Famine are not the same dragon, which poses an issue. Not only was Famine brought into RP without any sort of staff approval (and neither were any other of what Slade described as the "four dragons of the apocalypse"), but it was also brought in before the thread where it was supposed to have been created was finished. Not acceptable, especially for a faction leader and veteran community member.

Corrective actions are as follows:
1.) These dragons, excluding Wrath, which is to be only a basic Arkanian Dragon, and Kraujas Ntima, no longer exist and have no bearing on this or any other thread. All participants, please disregard the last three paragraphs of Slade's post as it pertains to Famine and its effects. If Slade wants to be on a small atmospheric ship instead, that's fine. Just move on.

2.) Slade, for failing to request permission or permission to develop Famine, despite knowing to ask for permission as of 2017 for an Arkanian Dragon, and for the manner in which they brought Famine into RP after directing staff to an incomplete thread, is limited to SLIU inventory only items indefinitely and are barred from development threads indefinitely. As well, they are barred from submitting Force applications through December 2021.

3.) Be aware that Sith Alchemy will undergo a future overhaul. This ability is planned to be split into a number of more specific component abilities, as it seems that the breadth and scope of this Force ability has far exceeded its original intent.

Contact me with any specific questions.
