Where the staff of Sithlore will post announcements relating to the forum and also where you can ask them any questions you may have regarding Sithlore.

Location-Based Forums (Suggestion)

Post by Ashara Rys » Sat Feb 02, 2019 10:13 pm

Just a suggestion for you guys to chew on in your Mod Chat.

I've seen on some (many [most]) RPG sites that people have forums dedicated to the most popular specific locations, and an 'Other Places' forum for other places. Can we do something like that on SL?

So like, the popular planets could get their own forums/subforums.

'Coruscant, Bastion, Tatooine, Jakku, Naboo, Mandalore etc.'

And/or other forums for 'The Mid Rim', the 'Outer Rim' etc....

To clarify what I'm trying to say, here's a screenshot a DC site I play on, featuring all of DCs famous cities:

And here's something from a Digimon site I post in, like, once a month (the guys there must really hate me tbh), with all the main locations of the Digital World as separate forums:

I just think it'd bring more of a 'Huge Galactic' feeling than a simple 'General Roleplay' forum like we have, it would make the site look bigger and more active if there are multiple forums with threads in them instead of only one forum with all the threads in it, thus possibly attracting more members...

I personally find putting iconic worlds in a page bracket to be somewhat redundant. If we were going to do this, it would make more sense to have static planetary threads based on different sections of the Galactic Rims (Core, Mid-Rim, Outer, etc), or maybe a specialized section for independent territories such as Hutt Space or the Hapan Consortium.

Also, as an addendum, Bastion is the LAST place you should think of if one intends to visit Imperial Space. It would be akin to Doren hopping over to Ryustlore to borrow a cup of sugar. Just because its location is more readily available doesn't mean it should be used outside of intensely story driven or high priority threads: zero tolerance, painfully few exceptions. End rant.

Fett mentioned tags for posts which I think we both thought was an interesting idea.

I'm a fan of keeping it simple. Tags is way more simple and keeps it all together in one happy forum, until you get to the faction forum rps. xD

I think it just sounds more convoluted. i could see there being forums for each faction's territory(not like what we have, I mean like a pirate being near bonadon, being in an imperial space forum, or if a Sith goes to Naboo for whatever reason, being in the alliance space forum) but honestly, it just sounds like it would overcomplicate things, when here we have everything tucked into one nice bundle.

I'm happy to just keep writing in where the setting of my post is taking place at the top whenever I feel it's necessary. It's not a rule, just a habit I picked up from Ben Kenobi. No need to have forums for major planets, especially since for all we know, there could be more significant planets on their way from Canon sources.
