Ripples of Light

***FORCE MELD - 700***
***BEGIN***

An ocean of glass, perfect and polished, it stretched outwards and beyond any means of normal human sight. In truth there was no end nor was there a beginning. This ocean all encompassing and eternal. Jedi Master Ben Kenobi stood upon the ocean of mirror glass, there was no breeze and his robes were a weight upon his shoulders. He held no weapon either. His mental and physical recovery had found completion here amid this never-ending sea. Now he sought only to perform that which he was made to do; seek out the Darkness and extinguish it. Indeed, he was too restless to sit on the Council and for this they tore at him in admonishment. Ceaseless lectures of the spirit of the Jedi Code. Kenobi believed in the essence of the Code, though not its verbatim word for word repetition. Such stagnation was the folly of yesterday.

He stood upon the sea, silent and unmoving just as the glass surface. This sea… it was the Force. All throughout and without end, it was the energy of the Galaxy and he stood amongst it as a polished stone within the water’s embrace. It moved over him and washed his spiritual body clean, it made no wake for such was his mind knit with it, at peace and with a pure sense of welcome. He drank the energies of the Force with humility, only that which was offered, not so much as a drop did he take in greed. It flowed through him and invigorated his mind and soul that he could stand amongst this ocean forever without end.

Time now came for the lesson to begin and she came to him with a joyous heart. Asori Spero, Jedi Knight of the Coalition. She was young and brash though taught to be mindful and though her tempering had not yet taken full form, Asori was exceptional in all. Her emerging presence onto the ocean brought ripples as she gingerly approached and knelt before him, he too knelt and they sat face to face. From her spiritual form the ripples of the Force made away, echoes of her vibrant aura.

Beginning without the need for words, they sought the calm presence of their partner. Ben closed his eyes and eased his mind into the sea of reflections, he made no wake and took his time, there was no mistake to make so long as he observed patience. Into the Force he swept, his mind falling upon the channels of the Force’s flow. He found their energy fields dancing with one another within this sea of souls, they easily intermingled, their well experienced auras understanding one another with much ease. He took up her hands in his own, both a physical and a mental gesture and the warmth given off was the same. This technique of melding required their consciousnesses to lean on one another, they were strong alone but together they were so much more.

Their minds entangled and it was here that they would see the most difficult portion of the training. Ben Kenobi’s current and signature was different than that of Asori Spero; it would take both of them to accept the embrace of the other. Mold their currents into one single flow and then they would surely see themselves in perfect harmony.

Ben was first to effectively try and he did so with the most gentle of intents. Asori was next and her younger more aggressive nature was coarse over that of his more experience aura. Their minds rebuffed, failure was the report to both as the meld collapsed. It was more than just the acceptance of one another. Indeed, they were fast entities that were comfortable with one another in a complete sense, but where they lacked was in the mind. Mentally they were compatible, they only needed to seek out and secure the proper current within the Force. On this frequency, they would conduct the meld.

Again they attempted the connection and in part it was easily achieved. Their minds touched and the Force was there with them, though still it refused to impart its strength to both, instead they were still individuals where they otherwise should not have been. Kenobi focused his mind now, his calm and over patient demeanor approached Asori’s radiance. They dull grays of the Master met the bright reds of the Knight, it wasn’t a matter of incompatibility, or inattention, or even consequence… it was a matter of understanding.

Instead of being a stalwart pillar, stubborn and unmoving, he would be the first to change his own mentality of the situation. He took a more aggressive approach, not overly but ever so slightly. His aura within the Force grew brighter and they blasted gray wraith that could go unnoticed with ease began to burn hotter. His signature within the Force grew come close to match Asori and this time when their consciences met, the flow and current of the Force was by far smoother though not yet perfectly entwined. Without needing to be prompted, Asori settled her heart and calmed her mind. Within moments her aura ceased competition with the stars and dimmed a fraction, settling to the hue of Ben’s own. Their currents aligned, the Force flooded into them.

Kenobi’s steadfast manner supported her stance and her incredible energy gave him a youth’s endurance. It was noted that the Force here did not increase nor make them stronger in that way but one could draw from the other and back. Though this was only the instant evidence of their successes. As they became more comfortable over time with this melding technique they both could think far easier of the other’s thoughts and desires. It became more instinctive and fluid. When they actually sought to draw upon the Force, it came as a flood water and the ocean of mirrors shattered into a brilliant waterfall, the rippling wakes billowed from them both. It was a symphony of their grasp on the Force now.

Even so, it was imperative that their learn to reign in this power and not let it escape. Ben eased himself, his signature settling and slowing into a more patient reflection of his typical self. In reflection, she did the same and followed his lead. Together they pacified the waterfall’s rage and together they began to work upon the ocean itself. Ripples the size of starships gently sank in breath and width until they were not much more than the ripples of a raindrop. The Lightside of the Force shone upon them and their reflection from the Force was equally serene.

They had found a harmonious balance with one another and their meld had shown them only a trickle of what they were truthfully capable of. Despite the promises and temptations of power, they displayed humility in giving it back to the Force and instead of stealing the energy away in selfish abandon, they served to steady the Force around them.

Many hours later they opened their eyes in the gloom of the night that was around them. A knowing smile fell upon them both…

***Master Power: Stasis***
***5,000 word requirement***
***BEGIN***

In the unification of one’s mind, heart and soul they would find the reason of purpose within them. Ever seeking such answers, Jedi Master Ben Kenobi knelt within one of the many forgotten training chambers deep within the Grand Jedi Temple of Permafrost. Here in these depths where no one was about and silence welcomed everything, could he find enlightenment. With nothing but the Light of the Force surrounding him he could dive as deep into his studies and meditations as he wished and this instance would surely lead him to view ever more into the secrets of the Force.

Though he wouldn’t find himself completely alone for the Togrutan Jedi Knight Asori Spero also knelt with him in the small circle center of the training room; she was here for the same purpose as he, though the end results would perhaps display significant insights into who they were at heart. They didn’t need to speak, in this time and place they were so in tune with each other and with the Force itself it was as if they were in solid communion with one other to a degree of constant they’d not experienced before. Their proximity to their most trusted and loved friend gave them a serene calm and confidence that they required here. It was soothing to be near one another and together they drew upon their companion’s own strength to help them along their way.

It was this unity that Ben began his task. He knew the end results to be a technique lost to time and man alike though with the previous week of study in the libraries and a full day discussing philosophy with other Masters, it was time to put his toils to the test and unlock the art of Stasis. With his eyes closed he first began to relax, this was key for the troubled mind would seek to fool him and lead him astray. Using Asori as an anchor point he drifted into the Force and instantly he was awoken to the sensations surrounding him. While indeed the area was silent and unmoving, he could see and feel a vast array of energy flowing around the room in tune with the Jedi duo’s field of their auras.

As he witnessed them through the Force, they were as objects within a reflective pool. Their auras were the outgoing and incoming ripples which caused the energy of the Force to react to their movement and their conscience thoughts and their will was the wake. Once Ben steadied himself into the flow of the Force all time was lost from this point and he delved deeply into the Light. A wave of the Force’s cooling touch washed over him. The sensation was welcoming. The Light’s soothing energy healed his wounds and eased his muscles thus bringing him into a state of completeness to which there were no other concerns on his mind that could distract him at this point. Even the troubles of the Galaxy were eroded as he brought the Force to him and it covered his mental faculties with its presence.

Finally, with a cleared mind he was prepared and so he reached outward and set his senses upon his trusted lightspear. This weapon was a just tool with which the Force was heavy within for every ounce of Ben’s knowledge and being had been poured into it during its construction. It was nearly a part of him as it was a tool and extension of his mind and body. He knew every inch of the weapon and therein was his established familiarity that he had chosen this tool to be the subject of his efforts of unlocking Stasis and its secrets.

First he began by extending his mind through the Force towards the weapon which was lying on the cold floor just three feet in front of him. He had to now establish a connection fully between his mind and the item. Mentally his extension of the mind touched the hilt of the staff and he could sense the condensation drawing upon the metal in result of the icy air and the heat within the weapon itself. The moisture of the ice particles were vibrant to his imagination as they raced, ever slowing down while they combined with one another to form frozen ice on the metal. The hilt itself was very cold to this senses and therefore if he’d placed his fingers there he knew the skin would stick to the moistened hilt.

The Force was strong around the weapon as well, centered around the inner workings and specifically the adegan crystal within. His mind eased through the solid metal hilt and into the cylindrical weapon. He passed through wired of coiled energy and the source of that energy until he touched upon the cool focused power of the crystal itself. It was soothing to his mind as he established this connection and a comfort followed in that he held possession and proximity both to a tool he held faith in.

Pulsing with power, the crystal exhumed its energy within the Force and created its own rippling effect on the pool. Its echoing waves were miniscule and likely many would have overlooked them though Ben was actively seeking them and so his senses were keen to their movement. He used them towards his purpose, smoothing out the ripples and timing them with his own aura’s ripples that their concurrent waves would be as one within the Force. It was a unification and once made it was clear to Ben that he had control of the item itself.

Should he have desired he could have lifted the weapon or activated the weapon or even with enough care he could have taken it apart; though this was not his purpose and so he withheld such actions. Instead he sought to go even further in his unity with the weapon as the steps of Stasis demanded careful examination of his surroundings of the item for once set within the strong hold of the Force, there would be consequences. If a moving object was suddenly locked within Stasis the natural force of momentum could create damage to the subject, Ben needed to be certain of the making of the object in that he needed to be able to control the Force around the subject as he set it into Stasis so that he could manipulate that momentum and use it to settle the subject in place rather than letting the energy simply expend itself to the shock of the subject.

A hilt lying on the floor was not a very good test subject for this and so Ben set to his task once more. Around the hilt the Force flowed in a calm pattern. A sentient being would, of course, look much different in this manner in that if it was sensitive to the Force or not. If sensitive then the Force surrounding it would reflect the mental situation and patterns of the person. Be it in a calm state then it would very much resemble the surrounding energies of the hilt though if the person was at an elevated state then the energies surrounding them would reflect a more aggressive flow, much like a reflection of liquid molecules that are heated rather than frozen and still.

Ben looked upon the hilt through the Force and he opened fully his senses to it and its surrounding area. Finally after this time he managed to establish a total and complete connection to the item in question. He’d found a sanguine place within the Force with the help of Asori and he was ready to begin the next step of unlocking Stasis. Since the technique did not require him to offend the Force within the object, he needed to focus on the outside for Stasis was the process of freezing the Force around an object or more specifically it was encasing an object in frozen Force energy, a stasis field.

Altering the flow of the Force around the lightspear was first and while it was a simple thing, nearly second nature, he took his time in affording his conscience mind to feel out every step. Delving into the Force he felt the course of the flow as it pressed around the hilt of the lance and even how it weaved itself in and out of the object through the solid matter of the durasteel and then again through the miniscule gaps in the construction itself and yet again through areas such as the emitter and activation switch. Ever the Force flowed and it was a constant of which Ben understood and in this it brought a simplicity and comfort to him.

Gently he began to ease his own consciousness into the flow of the lightspear’s constant energies. With a well practiced mind he swept his way into the natural flow without causing so much as an innocuous disruption, there was no wave, no wake and no disturbance in his passing. In doing so he could better affect that very same flow when it came time to do so. Feeling out the warmth of the energies, he took it in and continued to make it his own in harmony with what belonged to the lightspear itself. He merged the energies as they continued their flow and once he established the unison from mind and body to the object’s own form he held control over the surrounding Force energy. Though instead of altering it out of hand he simply allowed the continuation of the natural flow of the Force surrounding the target.

There was more to do, however. Now that he held control over the surrounding energies he needed to mold that very same natural flow into a more industrialized flow that his mind could easier manipulate it; the reason for this was that the natural flow of the Force and the mechanics behind how it made its flow and where and when, where simply beyond the capabilities of a sentient being’s mental comprehension. While Ben Kenobi was without a doubt the most experienced Jedi Master in current existence due to his age and his beginnings under the long since gone Jedi Master Corran Horn of the New Jedi Order in the time of such evils as Darth Fett; it was the acknowledgement that he understood a great deal of and about the Force, but he was not a being of the Force and thus he had his own humane limitations that he knew to follow lest he find himself on a path with no end. A scholar of a thousand years could study the intricacies of the Force and never learn as much as a rain drop to a lake’s worth of comprehension. Acceptance in this limitation allowed the practitioner to proceed once they’d established the point at which they could learn little without the type of study that took true ages to achieve. It wasn’t so much taking the short cuts as it was humility in the knowledge that he was comfortable enough to proceed without adversely damaging that which was around him.

With the natural flow, the energies darted in the same path though they were scattered and without pattern, truly it was as the flow of a body of water and the molecules of liquid that ran within it. Without chaos though it was also without condition, however, it was still with purpose. This is how he sensed it to be and it threatened to overwhelm his mind as he took the time to seek further understanding of how it worked. Though Ben was experienced in these things and he knew when he met the point where his efforts would soon derail his process of thought and so he eased back on his efforts of seeing how the flow of the Force officiated itself and rather he set to the task of establishing a more formal outlook on the basis of what the flow was. Without anywhere to mark a starting point, he reached out and through his mind he gathered a portion of the flow of the living Force and slowly he began to knit it together from the standing of a jumble of individual cells of energy into the standing of what his mind reflected as a beam or a thread.

With time, he established the first organized thread within the natural flow and to him he could now see a bright portion of thickness that shone with a controlled power for it was a condensed measure of energy. With great care he released his hold over where the thread would flow and he set it into the natural current while simultaneously keeping his mental hand upon it to ensure it wouldn’t collapse back into its previous wild form. Soon the portion had returned to the flow and was encircling the hilt without his will and so he gathered up a second portion and again he repeated the process though this time with a more effortless feel to how he’d make his task complete. The second portion was also set back into the flow and so he made to effect a third portion and a forth. Soon, are quartet of bright beams of Force energy spun about the circumference range of the hilt, he had established a method of which to better alter the flow.

Together he took up the portions of Force energy and set them one at a time back into the flow in a staggered formation. The natural current responded and the smallest of wakes began to emerge in the flow of which the ripples made the overall flow less stable. Such miniscule effects were nothing to harm anything at this point but the mechanics of the Force’s flow were enlightening to Kenobi and he sorted the portions into a tighter though still staggered formation and the ripples died away.

Beginning again he made another set of four portions and now he had enough material to work with that he gently wove the portions together to create a larger and more serious portion. For hours he set to this same task until at last the natural flow of the Force was under effect of Ben’s conscious mind in a more literal sense. Where he didn’t change the current, he created a material flow that he could absolutely understand. The flow had once been a stream of current, now it was a channel that flowed with his ow n passion and mind. He understood the hubris that could come with this new knowledge and he would remind himself to meditate and ensure that he would not overstep himself later.

Returning to the task he collected his mind and began anew. Now that he held control over the current of the Force surrounding his lightspear it was time to seize the initiative and assert control over the item itself. A simple thing, he reached through the Force and without affecting the current, he coiled his consciousness around the haft of the staff and through a simple measure of telekinesis he arrested the weapon. Up from the floor it rose in a slow and gentle manner. As telekinesis was a basic ability, Ben didn’t need to spend much time here and so in this step by step process he went onwards into the next level.

This portion of the task was the bulk of what Stasis was. To do as telekinesis and arrest the physical motion of the subject but even more so, to cut the subject away from the Force that they could not mentally retaliate and in doing so the technique could bring an escalation of force to an immediate close. Though unlike the actual technique of the Wall of Light, Stasis was not a technique that was potentially permanent in its after affect, where Wall of Light had the capability to sever the Force indefinitely, Stasis was a technique that focused on less severity though with definite implications such as immobilization right now and the cessation of hostilities.

In theory it was sound. In practice it was a much more difficult thing. To manipulate the Wall of Light was to alter the basis of the technique and being a skill that already required a vast amount of concentration and energy to execute, this would not be easily concluded properly.

The Wall of Light; Ben Kenobi focused his will and summoned forth all the power that he had mustered thus far in his studies within this frozen chamber. A wave of Light Side Force energy rushed in upon him and filled his mind, body, and soul with a revitalization. The warmth of the powerful energy rejuvenated his fatigued status and his shoulders squared a bit more as did his back straighten and his head was held high once more. The refreshing tune of the Force filled his body as he settled his mind to the task at hand and once he closed his eyes he focused on the lightspear with the eyes of the Force itself. Glowing energy was within its core and surrounding it was a current of energy, a controlled flow of the Force of which the pattern was of his own creation.

In order to properly inflict the Wall of Light, he needed to be one with purpose here and so he began with the desire to wrap the lightspear in this powerful technique. Reaching his hand out he began to channel the Light Side of the Force from the surrounding area down into the core of his body and consolidate it into his right arm. Pressing onward he gathered the plethora of Force energy into his hand and in reaction to the proximity of so much massed energy, his hand began to physically warm and while it didn’t become hot to the touch it did push away the chill of this dungeon he sat within.

From the palm of his hand came a pinprick of light and it grew with the fastness of Ben’s own mental capacity to control and manipulate the Force to his will. Marble sized and beyond to the form of a ball and finally to encompass his entire hand. Palm upwards, he held this weightless orb in his hand, this was the crucial moment of the Wall of Light; to more or less focus the Force energy onto the target and imprison that target in the cleansing light. Away from his hand the orb rose and he turned his hand to properly control it until it rose to just above the lightspear, the glowing orb settled and was made still. For long moments Ben coordinated the ball, focusing it from a ball of light into what appeared to be a solid ball of matter. This was not true but the visual affect was there. It shined with brilliance in a way of beauty that belied the awesome power entwined within it. Used improperly, the Wall of Light could just as easily destroy as it could be used for the appropriate conclusion. This was a dangerous technique, yet a necessary one and it took a strong mental focus to control and not turn loose.

Prepared, Ben turned the face of the orb to greet the top of the lightspear and once there the ball erupted from the focal point, encasing the lightspear in a cone of bright white light. Instantly he Force within the cone was made less constant and even to a point it was pressed away. This complicated the matter as the prepared current he’d spent time on earlier now faced dissipation. A learning process so it seemed. While he was unsure how long he could hold the flowing current together amidst a Wall of Light, he made the effort.

At first the Wall of Light in its most basic form was nearly chaotic, much like white noise brought forth to wash away a frequency into so much static to make it inaudible and without cohesion. Ben needed to concern his efforts now with bringing the Wall of Light into harmony with the aspect of his mind to properly mesh the technique with the flow of the Force rather than utilized as a skill to push it away entirely or to silence it into a compliance.

His mind reached the cone of the Wall of Light and touched upon it. Obviously, at first he was denied entirely to affect anything within the cone of light for any reason. By definition the Wall of Light made silent the Force within and he could not sense it nor could he affect it. With a calm disposition he sat there for long moments, feeling the cone with his mind and letting not a portion of it escape his sight. While he created this power and held it over the lightspear, the Wall of Light itself was one of the techniques that took many years to fully understand and many more to master. He’d not yet learned such mastery though with his applications of late he was becoming well practiced.

Eventually with time he came to understand that which he knew already. The Force wasn’t nullified within the Wall of Light, it was silenced. This didn’t mean the Force was pushed away at all as he previously thought, rather it meant that the Force was brought to such a stillness that the target was adversely silenced within the Force. In other words he wasn’t severed for to sever a living being from the Force meant certain death for the Force was life and life was the Force. It instead brought the Force surrounding, or more specifically within the object, to such a calm state that it became near invisible to the mind’s eye. This revelation was exactly what Ben needed and so with a new approach he began to look at the Wall of Light and indeed, into it.

He moved to the central point of the Wall of Light, the center of the cone itself and from there he sought to better focus the technique and to alter it from the large and obtuse cone that it was and to refine it to something that resembled a second skin to the target in question. Easier said than done. Every step of the way the Wall of Light would fight him and every fraction of a centimeter that he compressed down upon the lightspear was an effort much like a marathon. In the first moments he felt a new layer of fatigue set in and even in the cold of the chamber he felt the sting of sweat forming on his brow and freezing to his skin as it slid down his face. Effort much like he’d forgotten came to him and he was swiftly reminded that even as a Jedi Master he could still face gargantuan sized challenges the likes he’d not soon forget.

It was truthfully a struggle to compress the Wall of Light and by the time he’d managed to concentrate and condense the cone down into a slim form, he sensed the time of day had long passed though he was so deep within his studies and technique that he could hardly feel the outside of reality where Asori had been left. He could still feel her presence though that was the extent of it and just in that moment of searching he felt his mind waiver at the task, the Wall of Light expanding bit by bit and reversing the gains he’d fought so hard to achieve.

The faltering of his gains weighed heavily and served as a greater distraction and the cone expanded ever more, the cone had expanded to a point to undo half of which he’d compressed before he was able to calm his mind back down to a measure of focus and stop the growth of the cone back to its full state. There he held the cone still, neither in expansion nor compression. In that moment he began to feel the fullness of the fatigue eating at him and he realized he needed rest though he also knew he couldn’t let go either. He was at the point of exhaustion and so he relaxed his stance and took deep breaths to stabilize himself, he’d not realized how easily his concentration had nearly been broken. For the next few minutes he reasserted himself to the task and resumed his mental focus to a point firmly set within the Light Side of the Force.

Compression began again and the cone of the Wall of Light once more began to shrink in scope and scale. In the wake of the cone’s exterior absence, the Force was silent in its place. Ben simultaneously began to wake it and recreate the flow which he’d inadvertently lost by creating the Wall of Light around it. A mistake of process that unbeknownst to him had cost him many hours of meditation.

Erecting the resumed flow of the Force was easily accomplished and with minor effort since he’d already schooled himself in its processes. It took minutes at best and in doing so he also was able to feel out the Force around him again now that the Wall of Light was more distant and focused, in a way it was less and it gave Ben more room to work now that he was away from the proximity of the cone. Again the Force washed over him and he was appreciative of it, fully willing to accept it and let the Force work within him just as he would use it to work with the lightspear.

Further he condensed the cone until it came to the point that further focus of the cone would touch the emitter of the lightspear and in the shape of a cone it would leave a shadow. He now needed to form the cone into something more akin to a second skin rather than a form so inelegant as a cone. Bringing the Wall of Light into proximity of the emitter he pressed his mind down upon the Wall where the emitter terminated into it and with effort he was able to bend the Wall of Light. Instantly a measure of the cone broke and the entire technique nearly collapsed, the Wall of Light was not truly meant to be manipulated like water. It was apparent to Ben that the theory of a skin tight layer of the Wall of Light was not possible; hence the name of the technique was Wall of Light, not Skin Tight Layer of Light. The obvious reaction made him feel silly though he refused to give in and maintained his focus.

Instead of breaking the Wall of Light itself he would set about expanding the point of the Wall’s focus. The head of the cone. A bright apex, it was the central point and from where the technique was emitted from. Altering its state was difficult though not impossible. With effort he dissipated the definition of the cone and so it was expanded into the form of a proper cylinder to which he encased the lightspear in proportion to its own basic form which was also cylindrical.

From this point he further compressed the cylinder to the moment where it was as near the physical edges of the lightspear as possible. No longer did it resemble a Wall of Light so much as it was a pillar. With the compression of the Wall of Light he expanded the current to fill in that which the Wall had passed over and once more he controlled the flow of the Force surrounding the lightspear.

At this point the lightspear was encased in the Wall of Light, if it was a being it would be unable to call upon the Force though it would be able to physically move, such a lesson was made clear when Darth Tormentous reached from within the Wall of Light to throttle Ben not too long ago on Moraband. This was to be the technique of Stasis, where the subject would now be isolated from its ability to move, and the ability of the outside world to affect it.

With the surrounding energies of the Force he focused them to a task of blending with the Wall of Light and taking away the specifics of the ability that made it the Wall of Light and only keeping the portion that silenced the Force. Weaving the portions of the Force into the Wall he gently allowed the physical barrier of the wall itself to collapse though he contained its properties now that he’d learned that the Wall of Light was not what he needed so much as he needed to focus on its similarities. Stasis wasn’t a Wall of Light to expunge the Force, it was a form of isolation, an energy field in itself that encased the subject and held it firm.

In time with enough focus and the proper understanding of the technique, Ben began to formulate Stasis. A gentle hue of glowing blue began to form from the tip of the emitter and where it lost the bright white shine of the Wall of Light it took up the skin tight theory he’d had earlier and ever so slowly the glowing blue glove encased the lightspear. Across the edges of the emitter and down onto the magnetic field stabilizer and beyond. Slowly the blue form crossed over the weapon though for every slight inch that it covered it was a difficult task to overcome. Being a brand new technique he had little knowledge in how to best conjure its energies and so it was extremely tiring. The Force weighed heavily on his mind as he pressed ever onwards and if not for his harmonious relationship with the Light Side of the Force he’d likely have succumbed to migraine pressure, such was the stress he was going through. His hand still bore the warmth from where he continuously channeled the Force from his body and such sustained feelings brought discomfort and tingling at the tips of his fingers. He wanted to release his hold and afford himself rest but to do so would be foolish this far in to his task.

While utilizing multiple techniques at once was a task that many Masters found difficult, Ben Kenobi had specifically trained in multiple active techniques as a Padawan and young Jedi Knight. He took the time to use the Force to actively rejuvenate his body once again though unlike earlier this time he was using the learned power and not simply allowing the Force to heal his fatigue through its natural proximity. The Force came to his call as a willing subject and he accepted the Force in that moment, letting it flood into his mind and body, the heat of the energy flowing through him gradually felt as if it had cooled and that an ice water flowed within his body. The affect was at first disorienting though in moments the revitalization of the body and the mind began and he felt the strength of a young man which allowed him to better hold the Stasis Field in place as he grew it further. Likely, if he’d not have taken a moment to do this then his reserves of effort would have expired and he’d have passed out from fatigue for Ben did not realize how tired he was in this taxing lesson.

With renewed vigor he set about his primary task once more and gripped the haft with the invisible hand of the Force. The cool touch of his mind once connected with the lightspear brought him additional confidence in its proximity and he was able to reconnect to the forming Stasis Field with ease. Bringing forth the surrounding energy field he’d created it knitted with the vanguard portion of the stasis field where it was at its brightest and the field found growth once more. It did not stretch over the lightspear so much as the field of stasis was added to and given over to the size that it needed to encompass the entire weapon.

Finally the stasis field spread over the lightspear through Ben’s ever vigilant guidance and once the field of blue passed over the weapon it was held in place. Ben soon realized he should have used a smaller item as his initial subject for the lightspear was a lengthy device, though undeterred he kept his focus on the objective and in time the blue hued field covered entirely the weapon. He took in the entirety of the stasis field and his senses reached towards it inquisitively. It was both gentle yet powerful and the blend of natural Living Force energy with the Unifying Force energies gave off a feeling that was pleasant to him, it told him that this power of Stasis was good and that he’d have little reservation in its usage in the field.

Now it was a matter of releasing the hold over the weapon and allowing the Stasis Field to become a self preserving entity, otherwise it would simply collapse and dissipate. Strong and as solid as an oak, he sensed the field of stasis and it was sound. Within time he merged the Stasis Field’s energy to the surrounding Force energy he’d built up previously and there it was; a thing of balance. As the he guided the flow of the Force within and without the Stasis Field he felt how the technique utilized the Force energy given to it. As Ben witnessed it through the Force he felt the Stasis Field as a woven shield. All throughout the field he at first felt the Force flowing in a blur though as he was to come to an understanding and through time and patience he began to see the natural flow of the Force within the field of stasis and initially it was an ugly thing. No grace to the flow as it went to and fro, no recognizable pattern, no harmony though he sensed it was there.

Closer he gazed into the depths of the Force and soon enough he saw that indeed there was a pattern to the chaotic flow. It was not as normal in one unified flow encircling the subject in question rather it was a pattern of woven tendrils so fine that it appeared to his mind’s eye as a solid sheet of Force energy. So fine was it that Ben felt it would be virtually impenetrable without a complete understanding and furthermore only with a very careful hand through the Force.

Ben Kenobi opened his eyes for the first time in two days, but before him was his lightspear encased in a glowing blue energy field that sounded with the gentle hum of its potential. His limbs shook from fatigue and his mind screamed at him for rest; instead he took to his feet and approached the blue field of energy and reached out with his own hand to grasp the cold metal haft of his lightspear… and he was denied. Physically his hand came to the haft yet it was repelled such as the negative poles of a magnet and try as he may he was unable to grip the haft. He opened himself once more to the Force and he set about sensing the lightspear, he was unable to do so but for the basic knowledge that it was there. He understood through his senses that he’d be unable to grip the weapon with telekinesis or any other technique of alteration or even manipulation. The Stasis Field was near absolute so far as he could sense it to be.

Curiosity took hold of him and he was quite interested in the physical connection of another weapon. Taking up a simple rod he took a swing and once more the field repelled the physical connection and what was more the momentum was terminated. Ben felt the physical energy of the strike stolen away by the protection of the Stasis Field. It prevented his swing from overly harming anything including himself. Instead the weapon moved as if the kinetic build up was repulsed by the field and while it wasn’t terminated, the energy was dispersed. He didn’t have a blaster so he couldn’t test that, though he strongly supposed that a similar result would be made.

Asori held her lightsaber and he accepted it, engaging the beam and he gently tapped the Stasis Field, unsure of whether to fully trust it. A spark of energy discharge effected though the lightspear hilt remained unblemished. The energy of the field itself had repulsed the raw plasma of the lightsaber. He attempted again with more force and again the same result though this time the mass of the lightspear versus the kinetic force of the impact yielded the Stasis Field and it was sent slightly away from him. Disengaging the lightsaber he was concluded with his tests. The Stasis Field was complete.

Now he just needed to undo it or more properly he needed to learn to set a time in which the Stasis Field would survive for to indefinitely encase something in Stasis had dangerous implications. Once more he closed his eyes and reached into the Light Side of the Force, gracing his mind to the solidified energy field of Stasis he felt over the layer he’d made and it was strong, very strong. It had the potential to be unending save for being dispelled for it was tapped into the surrounding outpour of the Force which in itself was nearly without end if not absolute. Little did Ben actually realize that the Stasis Field was not infinite at all, rather it was a constant so long as his mind was focused and should he leave the immediate proximity then it would eventually dissipate on its own. Meanwhile however, it would slowly tax his mental capacity as he actively produced the strength of the Stasis Field. It had nothing to do with the connection of the Field to the Force.

It took Ben considerable time to learn this and in doing so he decided to keep the Stasis Field upon the hilt of the weapon for as long as possible. Now that it was steadily draining himself to keep the field in existence, he had to learn the limits or at least the extent of the strain spent on an enduring technique.

Understanding the plight, Asori departed for food while Ben remained and sought to learn. Time extended to about ten minutes, at which time Ben swiftly learned that keeping Stasis in place for an extended period of time was quite difficult. He would certainly need additional experience with this technique if he was to utilize it in any practical manner. He also assumed that were he in a dire situation the stress of keeping the Stasis Field active would further deteriorate the time he’d be able to keep it active.

Needing to know the full extent and limitation of Stasis he needed a more appropriate target. With Asori’s help upon her return, Ben focused the Force within himself and released Stasis from the lightspear, the relief it gave him to extinguish Stasis was vast and he only now took in the severity in which the ability stressed the mind. He took in Asori Spero and the Force came to him and went forth to grasp her in its embrace. Closing his eyes he took stock of the situation and he could sense her nervous composure, he felt she was unsure of the ability though she trusted him. That was enough and so he conjured within his mind the blue hued projection of the Stasis Field.

This time around the steps it took him to establish the connection were taken in stride and instead of days of labor it would only take him a few hours to filter through the process which in itself was a considerable advance in skill and understanding. The Force grew within the area surrounding them according to his effort in drawing upon it and from the tip of her montrals the blue field of stasis began again. Engaging this power onto a living being felt very different from that of an inanimate object. Instead of the constant calm and steady glow of the lightspear’s presence through the Force, Ben was now fully aware of Asori’s own vibrant aura and it tended to combat his efforts. Not in resistance so much as it was a different feeling altogether during the process.

Her beating heart sent renewed Force energy into the mix as her life force both empowered Stasis and caused ripples in the technique’s beginnings until Ben was able to learn to smooth out these ripples and form the field around her entire body. It was a partial thing and not well contained. He could feel its intensity and knew she could break out with but the movement of her arm. Though the difference was that instead of starting on one end of the body he was creating a simultaneous field surrounding Asori to bring her to Stasis at one time.

Ben poured his focus into the emerging energy field and he slowly and gently knit the field together in the same patterns he’d sensed with the original field. A crisscross effect of the Force’s flow and once interwoven he began to tighten the spacing between the threads of the Force until the gaps fell away. Solidified sheets of the Force were forming now and he could see and feel the growth of the Stasis Field. Visually a seemingly thin film began to show around Asori as Ben continued to work and overtime it began to take on a light hued color of blue and a very faint audible hum. Ben continued to work the Force into tightly wound threads until the Stasis Field was completed and when he opened his eyes and looked upon Asori, he could see she was still awake and when he sensed her presence he could feel she was well within the field. Though containing a living being was altogether more straining on his mental capacity than it had been the lightspear and he visibly showed his effort, leaning on his staff as he kept her in place.

He spoke to her and she responded with eye blinks that she could hear him though she was unable to break free nor was she capable of tapping into the Force to assist her in the task. On the other hand he called upon the Force to affect her and he was unable to do so. A telekinetic push broke around her as if she was a stone monument and it was but wind. He made to seek out her thoughts in depth and once more he was unable to penetrate the Stasis Field and discover anything of value. All in all it seemed that Stasis was operating exactly as he’d assumed it would and while he was curious he would refrain from striking the Stasis Field this time with a lightsaber, he trusted his work but not to the extent of risking even the possibility of harming his partner.

Releasing her, he took a seat and breathed heavily as he let the cold air of the chamber ease his weary limbs from this strenuous task. There was much to reflect on…

***LIFE SENSE - 100***
***BEGIN***

Young Jedi Padawan Ben Kenobi knelt in the courtyards of Ossus, the lush green world radiated in the morning sun and it brought peace and serenity to this scene of study. Along with Kenobi knelt also two others, a young man broader in frame and taller yet that hailed from the Core World of Corellia, Aries Kiborn. The other young man was brash by far and his aggressive nature was an item of concern for the fledgling Jedi of whom these three were the entirety of the second generation to be brought up through the tutelage of Jedi Grand Master Corran Horn. Tac Celchu’s tendencies were a source of competitiveness between Kiborn and Kenobi which would eventually lead to much strife in the future between them.

Before the Padawan trio stood two sentinels of the old order, Jedi Lord Storm and Maktar. Great men in their own right and today their lesson was kindly given; it was to instruct the ways and means through the Force that a Jedi Knight may seek out the life that surrounded them all. Verbally the instruction was given and Ben, along with his fellow Padawans, drove into the lesson with anxious hearts barely kept in check at the prospect of this new learning.

Ben Kenobi closed his eyes and after a moment he took a deep breath.

‘There is no emotion, there is peace…’
‘There is no ignorance, there is knowledge…’

Releasing his breath the exhale was smooth and low. He let the Force guide him to where he ought to be. Already his senses were bringing him the enhancements of sound, smell and taste but this was not the lesson plan and so with patience he rested a mind that was young and restless.

‘There is no passion, there is serenity…’
‘There is no chaos, there is harmony…’

The mantra of the Jedi resounded softly in his mind as he willingly recited the words and slowly brought his mind to focus on the things around him. He settled down and in time his mind came to a rest. When it did so he opened his mind’s eye and he was rewarded for his due diligence.

Extending his mind’s awareness outward he viewed the world differently now. Through the will of the Force he sought the beating heart and the movement of breath. But there was more, from the beating wings of a nearby bird settling within a nest and to the tree on which it sat. He began to see an aura of energy that was familiar in all these things though that was apart from the feeling the Force’s currents gave off. This feeling was a warmth that was constantly in flux. He looked upon the bird in its next and while yes he could see the bird itself through the Force, he could see the feeling of life it produced as well. The heart of the bird thumped in rapid succession for such a small thing and with each and every beat of its tiny heart it produced a living energy; this energy as Lord Maktar had described it, was the energy of life and the Jedi Knight could see it if he’d only take the time to do so.

Ben continued to keep his mind’s gaze upon the bird, each beat gave off a portion of energy that in turn flowed into the current of the Force and that energy was wound and bound to the Force itself. With each flutter of life that occurred the Force reacted. It served as a point of interest where the Force was as a pond of still water and the Life Force produced created gentle ripples in the glass surface of the Force. It was very easy to pick out after a while and the familiarity he assumed from this training would go a long ways in making him a better Jedi…

***FORESIGHT/VISIONS - 800***
***BEGIN***

The cold of Permafrost bit even through the walls and fought to prick as Ben’s skin beyond his robes though he paid it little heed as he sat quietly with his Togrutan Jedi friend, Asori Spero. Once more they came together to further themselves through the Lightside of the Force and to a greater extent, the Force itself.

This time around they had no extreme training planned nor any escapades of unveiling ancient powers from a holocrons knowledge. Today, they simply sought to the furtherance of serenity within them. Too long had they both gone without reflecting on the Light. It was time for a renewal of their centers and a return to the calmness of the Force.

Ben and Asori both knelt together and siphoned upon one another’s presence of reassurance and with one another they were quickly able to come to an element of peace and unity. For one, Ben Kenobi did not dive in but he gently relaxed his mind and body through the Force and into a meditative state. It would not be known for how long he would remain here but once he found his way to this point he was finally at peace within himself.

Seeking nothing but the serene currents of the Force’s flow he was swept away mind and body into what was the Force. The feeling of the cold winter of Permafrost was lost as his mind wandered in the direction of nothing. Though as he sat with his mind in the clouds he began to hear the faintness of thunder on a distant horizon; he gazed in that direction but he saw nothing. Curiosity captured him and so he began his journey through the Force itself.

The Unifying Force was a power Ben knew well but as he dipped his hands within he would experience it in a whole new way. The thunder rolled on the distance and so Ben extended his awareness to encapsulate the feelings that were so far set aside. The nearer he came to the distant sound he was able to view slight fluctuations of light in that same distance. Each flash was accompanied by the thunder and Ben kept his conscious mind focused on the faint sound and light. The Force was here for that he was completely certain. He could feel it all around and it was guiding him to his place. Further he traveled through the Force’s currents until the thunder ceased as a clashing boom and began to mold itself into the sound of boots crashing down on stone, someone was moving and his manner was severe. Instantly Ben could feel the anger flooding off of this man and the heat of that rage made him flinch aside.

Fading from view the boot’s thunder and the rash emotion fled from his mind like gas vanishing in a breeze. He could not recollect those feelings and suddenly it was as if it had never been there to begin with. Oddly enough it faded from memory too. He failed to even recall what exactly he’d seen though he was sure he had definitely captured harsh emotion and… boots? These were no grounds on which to base any firm hypothesis and so he let it go… but had the feeling he should not. That he needed to see what the Force held out there for him.

It took Ben another moment to reset his mind to the task at hand. The dogging feeling that the Force was trying to tell him something forced him to struggle a moment and he reverted back to sensing Spero’s serene presence. She provided an anchor for him, a solid backdrop to fall back on and he did so neatly. Prepared, he looked back onto the roiling sea of the Force and through its vast waves and flowing currents he found that unifying peace once more.

After a time he once again saw through a distant fog and with little effort this time he felt the firm ground below his feet. He now stood on stone, a certain stone that felt very familiar though he could not place it.

He looked behind him and as he did so the ripples in the Force’s current began to feel weak and he felt a cold sensation that was uncomfortable. He looked back the opposite way and he felt comforting warmth along with vivid waves of the Force’s light. He soon recognized what was happening, the Force was trying to show him something, it was guiding him forward but he also needed to be receptive to it otherwise the gifts it was presenting would not be given.

Calming his mind he looked upon the waves of the Force and gently he tried to smooth them out for the less severe the waves were it would allow his to see more clearly in this fog and further into the distance. Each soothing motion of his hand brought the picture into better focus and details began to emerge as he gave his mind further over to the Force’s guidance and eventually he allowed the flow of the Force to completely take over and once he did so the fog began to back away and clear.

He was standing on a high level overlooking a vast chamber, a great fire was in the center of the chamber and a throne on one end dominated everything with bones and skulls. Ben knew this place but the distant feeling was far removed. He was sure he’d even stood within this chamber before but it was as a faded memory stuck in a cloud.

A man of large proportions sat on the throne and… wings? He had wings? The image was distorted as if by heat and Ben focused his mind to clear the image to no avail. The winged man stood in what appeared to be outrage as the mighty doors of the chamber’s entryway swung open and produced a new aspect to this vision. Accusatory fingers were flung and shouting, very distant shouting of which he found no words…

Forcing himself to relax in ignorance, he allowed himself to be granted knowledge through which the Force needed him to see instead of that which he wanted to see. The words and the reasons for this encounter did not matter as much as the encounter itself. Just as he’d thought, the more he tried to focus on these irrelevant details the greater the fog of his mind grew and the more distant the chamber became.

Quieting his mind of these concerns he looked out into the Force and allowed it to take him to where he needed to be. The chamber cut itself from the fog in generous detail, just enough that he could view his surroundings and the two men in the chamber… it appeared that during Ben’s regression of the vision he’d missed what had happened but now one was standing over the other and with upraised hands the central fire began to grow brighter and hotter. Ben winced as it burned him despite his great distance. Further it burned and brighter until it consumed everything…

When Ben’s eyes opened his skin felt hot but he was back on Permafrost and Asori quietly meditated beside him.

Something was coming. Something that would burn the galaxy down if the Jedi did nothing to stop it. But there again, often one found his destiny by the route he would take to avoid it. Taking another deep breath Ben closed his eyes once more. On this he would meditate further. There was still much to do…

***BATTLE MEDITATION - BEGIN - 900 word requirement***

The cold bit into his knees whilst he sat there in the snow. All around came the crack and snap of blaster fire. Distractions were great and many though the Jedi Master calmed his mind and slowly he began to quiet the chaos raging all around him. The Light was there and all he needed to do was to ask it and he was granted its’ cool touch. With the Sith in such close proximity the Jedi had to trust in the Force to guide him as he likewise had to trust in his allies to keep him safe for this technique would take such an immersed concentration that he’d be unable to defend himself.

Full mental immersion into the Force was a task fit for a quiet room with zero distractions. As Ben Kenobi closed his mind to the chaos he was surrounded by the clash of blades and the discharge of blasters. He had to begin at square one; with the Force surrounding him he soon began to focus.

He had to first reach out and see the field of battle in which he was standing. The Force churned in many currents and the waves were violent, crashing against the walls of his mind and creating further havoc. Clearly his mind was yet to see through the mist and was not aligned to take on the rough seas yet. Impatience was crippling him. Ben opened his senses to view the ongoing battle, there was so much going on and his urgent need to leap up into the midst of the battle and see it to the end was great. But there was something bigger at work here and the picture was vast. He knew his role here would be best utilized in this technique to turn the tide or at least hold the line until reinforcements could arrive.

Once more he began anew. He looked first to himself and took a deep breath. Taking in the breath there was also the Lightside of the Force itself and the feeling was warmth in conflict with the cold of Rhen Var. His insides felt the touch of the Light and his nerves began to settle. His exhale went with the troubles and grief and the worry he had felt earlier. Finally, as with the Force, he had found his center, his peace of mind, the point where he no longer felt anxious to rush into the fray. He felt patience returning to him and suddenly he managed to successfully close out the chaos of battle.

With the flow of the Force gently moving through him, the overall battle began to slow as he focused upon the larger picture. A technique such as this called for one to sever oneself from the personal connection and to look upon the grand scale of even more. Such an impersonal approach bothered him, Ben was never one to separate himself from the troubles, pains and worries of the individual. To take that away came off to him as very callous and to tread close to the wrong kind of detachment. Such detachment would draw him close to a more mechanized thought pattern which in itself would allow him to take risks with the lives of the men and women he was to be influencing in exchange for a tactical advantage. Obviously this technique held a dangerous side, Ben would remind himself constantly to be mindful in its use.

He looked up into the skies of Rhen Var through the eyes of the Force and the currents raging around him were violent. He knew such a look would only distract him and so he drew his senses back in to focus upon himself. Needing a smaller scaling approach, he would not go for the complete gaze of the battlefield so swiftly. Instead he gently expanded his senses from himself to encompass only himself and those immediately in his proximity.

With a careful touch his senses fell upon the surrounding squad of defenders. He could feel their minds, full of thoughts and worries alike. With the same calm that was on his own heart and mind he settled his senses down upon the first man in the line and he began to gently sooth the emotions on this man’s heart. He first attacked the mind’s worries. His senses touched the man’s mind and he could feel the paranoia and fear in him. Fighting Sith could have been listed as a nightmare in this man’s opinion and Ben came to this worry and touched upon the courage within this man’s heart. He amplified the man’s courage and let it run its own course. The fear eventually was overcome and the man’s aim was more steady. The feelings of horror and defeat began to wane and his morale increased. He was more sure of himself and each squeeze of the trigger lacked the failing discipline he once had. Refocused and precise the trooper slowly showed himself to be sharper than ever before.

Ben was not done there. The man’s fatigue was heavy; he’d recently made a mile battlemarch through the snow and despite his discipline and improving levels of courage and confidence, he was deposed by his heavy heartbeat, deep breathing, and the chilling cold due from his sweat. The Jedi Master looked to the flow of the Force as it traveled through the man and this was something he’d done for himself many times; altering the flow of the Force to target the fatigued muscles, tendons and tissues within the man’s body. As if a breath of fresh air came to the man, his burning fatigue faded away. Finally the trooper set his aim and fired his weapon at the enemy without the worry or fatigue he’d felt earlier. Even more his aim was more on point than usual.

The trooper had gone from less and had become much more.

Good as this was, it was but a single man amidst an ocean of chaos. Ben reached out to the entire squad now that he held the concept of the technique. Looking into the hearts of men, Ben Kenobi brought with him the Force and girded their faith and turned it into fury. His connection with these men increased the more he concentrated on the Force and through this connection he channeled the Force’s flow through these men. With the practice put into effect the Rangers and the security teams were all touched. Their heart rates slowed and were made steady, their sweaty palms tacked to their rifles and they did not fumble with their equipment, their minds did not forget their loved ones back home but used their memories as strength and focus, the thought of the vile Sith attacking this station did not stoke fear in them but brought resolve in that should they not accomplish their duty then they could very well fail so many more.

Armed with their weapons, armored with absolute resolve that their cause was not only great but that their outnumbered and surrounded position was not hopeless, the men of the Alliance, through the Jedi Master Ben Kenobi’s influence, began to fight harder, faster, more efficiently, more precise, and ultimately with the confidence they needed to get the job done.

Ben, as this occurred, remained in stoic focus as he was made nearly blind to the outside world. Even more than once a stray round hit near his kneeling position and one passed through his cloak at the elbow level though thankfully it missed him.

The Jedi were resolute beacons in the dark of night. The Light flooded around Ben like a lighthouse upon the cliffs surrounded by the raging waters of darkness. He stood firm amid this terror and he stood without fear of the Sith.

It was difficult to know what tomorrow would bring and Ben wasn’t arrogant to say they’d see it. Though they were making a stand here on Rhen Var… A line had been drawn in the sand and they weren’t about to back down now when it mattered most…

***Lightsaber Construction BEGIN***
***Single Blade - 750 Words***

The parts and pieces assembled, the Jedi Master flowed right into the actions he was set to accomplish. Within the Force’s eternal flow the Jedi tapped into the Living Force and yoked the essence of what it was to be within its embrace and so in tune and to be within such harmony with it all. In the Light of the Force he ascended into the unseen. Flowing through the area as he stood within the waters cool touch. His stone in the Force was very smooth and caused little wake as he moved through it. Ever creating but the smallest of ripples in time. Meditation on the items in question was key to the bonding process. A Jedi Knight not only had the task of building his weapon but also to tie himself personally to it.

Ben’s mind traveled through the Force and touched first the power cell. It was a simple and modest piece but capable of distributing enormous power if properly conducted and of course, insulated. The power cell provided the necessary voltage for the circuitry to function and to power the plasma beam that was to be projected from the emitter. His was bronze in color, long and cylindrical. Ben focused on the piece and channeled the Force through it and wherever the touch of the Light drifted the diatium power cell was bound by it. The cell began to offer its own aura almost as if it was magnetized by the Force. Feeling accomplished the Jedi Master accepted this component and moved to the next which was the power field conductor which would fit over the diatium power cell like a comforting sleeve. Even such a simplistic device, Ben took the time and washed over it with the Light of the Force to search its complexion and seek out weaknesses as well as to bind the item together with the power cell.

Carefully the two components lifted into the air, Ben’s mind focusing specifically upon them and with the Living Force he brought them together as one. Fitting perfectly within its housing the diatium power cell snapped into place and only the connector for the crystal mount remained exposed.

Indeed the next item in the process was the primary crystal mount. Ben did not move, his concentration was such that his mind alone would suffice in the transmission of his will within the Force and at his call the mount raised into the air and drifted gently towards the assembled power unit. Orienting properly to line up with the connection plates the mount settled down on the end of the power cell and snapped into place with a tiny audible click. Ben’s meditations fell upon these pieces and as caulking he issued the Force to seal the gaps in the devices to properly bring it all together.

The end of the construction remained in place while now the fore of the construction all began to lift up into the air as soon as the Jedi set his gaze on them through the Force. The blade’s energy channel was a bright copper housing that was next in line between the field energizers. The pieces snapped into place as then tiny screws drifted in and locked the additions down tight into place. Once more the Light moved upon each and every crevice of the constructed parts and covered them all in a sheet of Ben’s consciousness. There was not a single centimeter of this portion of the weapon that Ben Kenobi did not have an intimate relationship with by the time the next piece came into play.

Next was the focusing crystal mounts and they drifted into view carefully along with the perfected focusing crystals to properly set the beam correctly and assist in containing the plasma energy that would be built up so densely. One of the focusing crystals had a hairline scuff in it. As Ben acknowledged the crystals he set them both into their housings and looked upon them with the Force as he had so far all this time. The first crystal passed his inspection and as he bound the crystal to the upper portion of the weapon his senses fell on the second piece and he discovered the imperfection. Though the will of the Force and the Living Force by his hand he brushed the surface of the lens clean but not after a few moments of very careful concentration. One wrong move and the focusing crystal would be damaged beyond repair and new crystal lenses were hard to come by. Smoothly the Force brushed across the crystalline surface and ever so carefully did he Jedi use his influence to clean the surface spotless of the scuff mark. The second lens was placed within its housing without further incident.

Finally his hands went to work. Picking up the crystal energy chamber he took up a rag and a portion of oil from a container. Wiping the interior down was a fragile process but the interior needed to be spotlessly cleaned and insulated from the energy that would soon be housed within it. After a thorough cleaning and lubrication the housing of the chamber was set in place with the energy chamber itself and it floated from Ben’s hand and drifted between the upper and lower portions previously constructed.

The Light of the Force burned away the foreign nature of each item and slowly the pieces were molded together as one within the Force’s signature of the weapon proper.

It was time to tie everything together now. He took a deep breath and let the Force guide him further. The upper and lower accounts angled in line with the energy chamber and made pause. The external components came into play now and the insulator sleeved the power field conductor to in turn be covered and sealed by the lower handgrip. The pommel slowly attached to the end of the hilt and screwed into place tightly. The emitter set down on top of the magnetic stabilizing ring which rotated accordingly and both parts set atop the energy channel which was now housed within the silvered plating of a chromium finished upper hilt.

Together now the energy chamber connected to the upper hilt and sealed in place with the aid of the Force. As all the other little pieces of the lightsaber touched one to another and locked into their positions, the primary crystal now lifted into the air from the ground.

Ben’s pontite adegan crystal, used in two different light weapons, this now being his third, rotated directionally to angle inside of the energy chamber and hold just above the crystal mount. The golden yellow crystal was inert and seemingly dormant until Ben’s full influence came to touch the item. Upon his connection the crystal was awoken. From within the heart of the crystal Ben Kenobi’s light was born and it brought a beautiful bright golden hue and light forth, it touched the entire weapon and cast wonderful shadows around. All of this together the weapon and the crystal wove threads of bonding together until finally they began to close in and within time the crystal, the energy chamber, the upper and the lower all connected at the same perfect time.

This was the moment that Ben’s hands flanked the lightsaber and it slowly rotated and spun in the boundaries of his hands. Where he had bound the weapon together and it had become one, now he would bond with the weapon and they would also become as one.

It would not be known how long this process would take. Minutes, hours, days or a week plus… but in the end Ben Kenobi reached out and gripped his reconstructed lightsaber, pressing the activation stud and with a loud SNAP-HISS the golden beam burst from the emitter and with a powerful humming tone it brought warmth to Ben’s heart.
