Catching up. (Mercy. Kita. Warv.)

Vyn continued to eat his food until he noticed one of the young women leaving, and the other one giving him a cold stare, well he did not see it but he could feel the gaze burning into his armor. He continued eating until he was finished, then getting up disposing of his tray. He made his way to the table where the young woman sat, He towered over her but he was not trying to be intimidating. He was genuinely curious on why a woman he had never met wanted to burn a hole through him. Finally he spoke

“Have I wronged you in another life or something?” his question was genuine. It was then he took a seat across from her. From the looks of her she appeared to be malnurished a bit. He knew what that felt like. Before she could answer he introduced himself.

“I am Vyn, I am clanless” it felt weird to say it outloud but continued “but I swore fealty to the Mandalore” He wondered if she knew of whom he spoke. Now, he patiently waited for an answer.

She felt his presence as Vyn leaned over her. She set down her fork and cocked a eyebrow at him as he asked if he had offended her in any way. "Depends." She replied. "Were you on Vorpa'ya about a year ago in the war?" She clasped her hands together and rested them under her chin as she leaned forward awaiting his answer. She didn't care to take her eyes off him as he sat across from her. She grew curious hearing he had no clan. And even more curious why he swore allegiance to another mandalorian and not to his clan. She would have asked but figured it was none of her buisness.

"...Kita Ikari." She replied wearily. Considering her past events, she didn't trust this man at all when it came to his seemingly genuine personality. Kita figured it might have been a trick.

Vyn was silent for a couple of minutes before he replied “I was there, glorious battle it was” he began “I did not fight with my clan as I renounced them when I came face to face with the Chieftan of all the clans, the one called Mandalore, I pledged fealty to him, the man Jacobi possessed such a prowess in battle that was worthy of being called Mandalore” He leaned back in his posture and studied the young woman.

“I can tell by the look on you, that you’ve been through an ordeal, I can relate, I was an inmate of Rock Bottom which was a Mandalorian prison complex inside an asteroid, which now is no more. I was betrayed by members of what used to be my clan. I thought I was going to die in there, that is until I met Jacobi and a man only known as Warvanus I never learned his real name” He paused to take a drink then continued

“Now I work for Warvanus by training soldiers well that is until recently my assignment is over and I am to meet him to know what else he requires of me, I have no affiliation only I am loyal to Clan Ordo, and the man known as Warvanus for freeing me from what would have been certain death”

It was not a pity story , he spoke it as a matter of fact. He had been through much himself and he could see it written all over her fact. It did not make her weak, in fact to Vyn it was the opposite. To go through her ordeal whatever it was and lived to be sitting here eating a meal spoke volumes of the strength this young woman possessed.

He then extended a hand “Kita Ikari, it’s a pleasure to meet you”

She listened to his story intently on who this mandalorian was. The name he gave causing her to become rather excited. It was nice to meet someone who had also become a recent prisoner. However she was certain the one she had been in was MUCH worse. After he finished his tale, her hands slammed against the table as she sat up straighter and leaned in a bit towards Vyn at the sound of Jacobi's name. "Wait, You know Jacobi too!? I was with him in the war. We got separated. I was taken prisoner and eventually ended up at the Spire."

She stopped talking for a brief moment as he reached his hand out in greeting. She stared at it for a moment before smiling slightly. She took it and shook it in return. "Another ally then." She thought happily. Kita glanced up at him remembering the name Warvanus...but his appearance was brief back in the day of the war. "I have a feeling I met Warvanus once. On the day of the war." She added calmly.

Vyn nodded in agreement “Its possible” he began “I think it was operation Quicksand he was tearing through the line when he suddenly vanished. Of course we would later learn that he had been put into carbonite by someone from his past.” The details were of course classified, and in the recesses of the Archives of the Krath. Having seen their objective met in putting Tormentous on the throne, they acted as servants of the Emperor. He grew pensive and then looked at her about the Spire “You survived that hellhole?, You have some strength in you” he said with some admiration, he could tell she was undernourished and yet she survived one of the worst prisons known to the galaxy. In that moment Kita had earned Vyn’s Admiration and Respect from one warrior to another.

“Warvanus is a warrior, He has the heart of a warrior, I’ve never seen anyone who felt so at home on the battlefield as he. But outside of it, he is a very private man, Id even say a bit on the cold side” As he said the last sentence his tone changed to one of admiration. He then took another drink and continued.

“Yes I have met and fought along side Jacobi on a few occasions fighting for him and with him was a high honor” He took another drink from his glass. “You should have seen what he did at Rock Bottom, He infiltrated a Transport belonging to the Sorell Clan single handedly took over it and then crashed it into the Asteroid, If my people fought like that still, The Mandalorians would not be so scattered” He paused “Anyway” he gave Kita a smile. “What brings you to this ship?”

"I didn't know Jacobi was in carbonite." She thought to herself. There was alot she didn't know about her master. And she wanted to find out more about him once she found him.

Kita looked down embarrassed at Vyn's comment of surviving the spire. "Not as much strength as I'd like to have. I probably wouldn't have survived at all in the spire if it weren't for Jacobi teaching me on Zoist a year ago." She admitted lowly. "We went for survival training and i almost drowned in a frozen river after leading some vine Kats there to rid of them. We were attacked by a group of about 9 or 10 of them if I remember correctly." She left out the details of him teaching her about the force. Instead she made it sound as if it weren't anything more then a basic trip in the woods that went awry.

Kita knew she had strength in her. But sometimes she felt like she also didn't have enough strength at all. The young woman from Tibrin always did fill herself with self-doubt most of the time. As to why? She didn't know. She honestly did feel though that Jacobi had made her stronger however.

Her blue eyes looked back up at him in amazement. She laughed at his view of Warv's personality. "Yea. That seems about right. I remember meeting someone who was just like that. Seemed cold. Wasn't one much for chit chat." She admitted. Still his appearance was stumping her.

She listened intently as he went on about the destruction of the asteroid prison. "Jacobi destroyed a prison?" Kita wondered then if he would of done the same with the spire had he known she was there. Then again, maybe he didn't care? She thought he had. "Your still hung over that guy? I don't think he would do that even if he knew you were there." Her own conscious gnawed at her.

She hadn't realized she had been frowning the whole time and quickly looked up at Vyn as he smiled at her and asked for her reason on the ship.

"Oh. Well actually..." She scratched her head nervously. "Blood picked me up from the spire...which I thought was odd since he was the one who left me in there to rot all year." She muttered sourly. "But apparently I'm going to be working for the Sith Lord Tormentous?" Confusion crossed her face. "At least...that's what I was told. I really don't know much about this guy. Last I heard Blood was ruling the galaxy...and now its this guy."
She leaned in and whispered to Vyn, unsure exactly who on this ship might have been listening. "And between you and me, I'm not really interested in working with the sith. Id much prefer to be working with Jacobi." She leaned back and shrugged, eyes narrowed as she became rather annoyed that their wasn't anything she could really do. Run?...And she would be hunted for sure.

Little did Vyn know, he knew Tormentous. He remembered one time he saw Jacobi use the Force and it was when he along with Warvanus and himself stormed the Krath’s compound. It was that op that netted Vyn into the Inner circle of the Krath, Warvanus had taken over it but left his apprentice The one whose name translated to “Black Siren” as the elusive High Priest, he was a part of that group but that was not known. Only Jacobi , Warvanus and his apprentice Kinta Vetasa knew his involvement. Back then the Krath’s purpose was to cull the disease from the Sith Empire, which by their opinion was the removal of Blood from the throne and to reinstate the rightful Emperor to the throne. Though the more he thought of those events the more something was not adding up in his mind. Then he was reminded on why he did not ask questions. He snapped himself back to the present mentally and listened as Kita regaled her tale.

“Survival training is very important, as a child we are put through it, passing it brought honor to your clan.” He paused and the mention of ice it stirred a memory “At Rock Bottom sometimes we were submerged in an icy tank left for hours, normally when that happened it left the person close to death, their medical staff would revive them. One time a guy got left in the tank for over a day, he was obviously dead when they decided to pull the guy out” His voice trailed off a bit as if it was a memory he did not want to remember especially since his time at Rock Bottom he had been submerged twice In the ice tank. Inwardly he shivered at the thought.

He looked at Kita “When I first met Warvanus me and a group of inmates had begun a takeover of the prison, I made Warvanus fight me to gain our help” He grinned “He obviously won, and did not kill me” That was when Vyn’s loyalty for the War-Bringer was born.

He noticed her frown, and when Blood’s name was mention he frowned. He had never met Blood face to face but he heard the rumors and the stories and some of them turned his blood ice cold. Especially the ones where he ate people. It was gruesome not to mention disgusting. He leaned in to listen better when she whispered. He understood and then replied in the same octave

“Two things I’ve learned about the Sith, Your fortunes can quickly turn for the better or worse. Me it got me freedom, and hands on some sweet hardware” he said that with a grin “second thing I’ve learned, they value Force sensitives, if you can use the Force you can be elevated to a status that you did not dream possible.”

"I didn't even know their was such a thing as ice tanks." She could see him recalling the experience as he shook. "I wasn't in the water for hours. Just minutes. But it felt like hours. I'm surprised you survived it. Really it should be impossible...right?" Kita couldn't imagine being submerged in ice water for so long without dying. Their body temperature would dip to low.

Kita smiled at the story he told of how he met Warvanus. "That's definitely a odd way to meet someone." She replied.

“Two things I’ve learned about the Sith, Your fortunes can quickly turn for the better or worse. Me it got me freedom, and hands on some sweet hardware” he said that with a grin “second thing I’ve learned, they value Force sensitives, if you can use the Force you can be elevated to a status that you did not dream possible.”

She remained silent at his comment for a moment before deciding to ask what status's were possibly impossible to have. "And what would that be?"

He nodded “The first time for me was just an hour, my circulation is good so I am like a walking furnace sometimes, I think that saved me, but make no mistake I nearly had frostbite. The second time I almost did not make it. That wasn’t all we were subjected to, some of us would be tortured more brutally. Hot rooms, electrocution, the stretching rack, for the real troublemakers they would do combinations” he shivered at the thought and just felt grateful that he was free.

When the story of his first meeting with Warvanus came bout and she commented he nodded “For Mandalorians, a fight can earn respect or lose what respect you have, depending the outcome. Especially with outsiders an outsider who can go toe to toe with a Mandalorian warrior normally earns some respect. Warvanus earned mine and my loyalty on that day all because he proved his worth and did not rely on the Force, it was all skill, what really impressed me was during the fight he seemed to enjoy it, that right there tells me he’s got the heart of a Mandalorian, Jacobi might be able to explain it better than I but that is the jist of it, but in Mandalorians to be without a clan is a dishonor, So if I wanted to go home I could’nt as I would not be welcomed back by my own people. The only way out of that dishonor would be to be accepted by another Clan, or the Mandalore himself can remove my dishonor by sanctioning creation of a new clan”

Vyn thought for a minute before speaking to her question. “I’ve heard stories of slaves being elevated , survived their training and become full Sith Lords and all the privilege that entails” He took a drink “I was a prisoner, now I am a Chief Lieutenant to a powerful Sith Lord” He paused “I’ve seen people stripped of their status, freedom and their life, remember that when dealing with these Sith” He took the last gulp from his cup and put it down. They were silent for a moment before Vyn spoke again this time standing up “My break is about up, I do hope we meet again Kita” He needed to take his leave as his meal break was almost over.
