"What the yellow sun of my rear did he buy this time?" Someone was quick to point out Yan's note. One word set fire to the world. One word that screamed three more. That word was Sith. The other words were "Get me a Jedi." Yes, Zechs couldn't found, but a was hardly a word despite him using it a lot.

It was sith, and it was old. It was going to be taken to a containment facility, so they could figure out what exactly it was. Zechs wasn't sure. Stasis unit sounded like a logical assumption, but a jedi might be able to make some sense of the sith carvings. It was a harder language to understand than ewok or droid.

Zechs changed out of his uniform into more comfortable garments. He'd follow along shortly behind this mystery box. He hoped it wouldn't unleash a pox. Yan's breath slew enough. They didn't need to unleash an age old virus on the galaxy, and if it was a stasis unit, they didn't need to sneeze and slay the poor fool who had been trapped in a literal box for countless years.

Sipping his special tea, Zechs closed out the latest message from Thrion about the ducks running rampant on the ranch. What was in the box was more pressing.

No one ever saw the waterfowl come into a secured containment facility, nor could anyone from amongst the brightest minds on Naboo fathom how it came to sat perched upon the oubliette (whatever that was). The exotic duck was certainly quite distinct where it sat in all his duckly elegance, his sparkling azure plumage standing out in the dullness of the facility; the product of the breeding of a male Naboo wood duck and with a female quadduck, his four limbs in addition to two wings rendered him morphologically closer to his maternal quadduck lineage.

What was even more exotic about this particular half-quadduck, however, was that his azure plumage was quite a bit more reflective than the average duck, making him sparkle blue even in the dim lighting.

Few noticed the half-quadduck, but the half-quadduck saw all. His amber duck eyes came to rest onto Grand Admiral Merquise, for he recognised him amongst all those who were present. He had been born on the Grand Admiral's ranch, after all, and had grown up there, until the Grand Admiral's neighbour, a certain Jedi Knight, had noticed something extremely peculiar about the half-quadduck - other than its exotic, reflective plumage - while helping the Grand Admiral freight the ducks off to Kashyyyk.

The Force was strong with this duck.

Since then, Jedi Rainwalker had procured said quadduckling from Zechs ranch, and the Jedi and the Half-Quadduck had formed a Force bond, the duck being christened as 'Dafi, Herald of Rainwalker'.

So it should come as no surprise that the moment Dafi heard Papa Zechs mutter the words, "Get me a Jedi," did the waterfowl fly off the oubliette (whatever that was) to fetch His Other.

Dafi's Other, Jedi Rainwalker, found himself in the facility a short while later, Dafi perched on his right shoulder. "You called?" he inquired, unsure of what rank Zechs went by now so silently omitting its mention, as he stared at the box.

Because an oubliette is a box, right?

Gigi couldn't believe the words that came out of this so called Jedi's mouth. She was about to say something when a loud smash came from the room. The table broke that the oubliette broke, the force caused the oubliette to open, a wrapped body fell out. "*****" Gigi cursed, it was a good thing she didn't take off her suit. She rushed inside with some other scientist that were still suited. Very carefully they picked up the body and placed it on a new table, then carefully removed the cloth wrapping up the body. "****" She cursed again. It was a Sith, not the current kind, this was the original meaning of the word.

Her eyes opened, but she couldn't see anything, she couldn't move, but she could hear. She was confused, she had no clue what language was being used or what they said. After a couple of minutes her eyes finally adjusted, she could see metal instead of ice. 'What the hell happened?" She thought. "Kuris's antai? Tikurzi sua nu? Tikurzi kash nuyak clan?" She said. (Who's there? Where am I? Where is my clan?)

Zechs pointed to all the screaming, the sith, and the whole general mess on the other side of an airlock. Yup, it was a job for a Jedi. He needed a beer.

"Oh, how convenient," the Jedi muttered under his breath, the half-quadduck on his shoulder quacking loudly in agreement, as the scientist or whatever she was began screaming, before the big box (because the HoloNet said an oubliette was like some weird underground dungeon thing?) broke apart magically and then a figure wrapped in bandages popped out.

Ani turned to Zechs. "Dude, I'm with the Jedi, not the Medjai - Mummies are not in the job description!"

The Mummy was unwrapped. She opened her eyes. Dafi the Duck quacked from atop Ani's shoulder. The red-skinned humanoid began to speak a strange language. All of that forced Jedi Rainwalker to reconsider.

"Never mind, she's not a mummy," he said slowly, as he pulled his grey hood back, exposing his head and began to walk slowly towards the downed female. Jedi Rainwalker recognised this species from the history holocrons he had studied, although he wasn't quite sure until he heard her speak the same ancient tongue (or a similar one to it) that Lord Blood seemed to ramble on in every once or twice Ani had encountered him.

"Hey," Jedi Rainwalker slipped into Serious Mode, speaking as calmly and soothingly as he could, as he crouched down a safe distance from but near the fallen sith. "Can you speak Basic?"

She watched the scene from the crowd that either rushed each other to try and see the commotion, or stayed in place while bobbing their one, or occasionally multiple, heads to see what the fuss was about. Petite and nothing to be noticed, she stayed in her place, pulling that hood up just as the sirens began to blare on the containment of the box. The pale ivory cloak's hood hid the amethyst shaded curtain of bobbed straight hair from view. The miraluka-hybrid didn't need to peek or push past the other sentients to see what was happening; her mind radiated just enough of low-frequency pulses for her to gauge what came crashing out of that box. Closing those deep purple eyes of hers, she honed in her senses, and around her, the sounds of scuffle, muffles and other irritants blew away in a gust of silence. Within the creases shadow underneath her hood, a light was brought to life as the crystal directly in the middle of her forehead took on that extra Force energy, and assisted it in focus. Ducking her head, she semi-consciously hid it from view, as the lithe sorceress chanted inwardly to herself.
Past the others, Raven's mind saw.

Under that thin layer of cloth, almost thick enough to be considered a blanket, a woman, facial feature pointed, feminine, but with additional accessories that came from generations of her species, before her. Ends of eyebrow tentacles were flared gently away from a face, a face that was awake, but sleeping, her heart beat stalled and frostily paused for the times to come. Raven's perception of mental touch was then amplified as she worked in tandem with her natural Force ability to see the world, while directing it with her own guidance as to how she wanted it to be. Carvings, as she would feel, she knew those symbols. Her studies came back to her in a wave, rushing her mind, through her ears as she listened to the chantings of that ancient language that only so many in her life knew to exist, anymore. Raven knew the words to be Sith. A name, a clan, heritage, gender, all was listed in a colorless array of textures on the cloth. Raven understood how important it was....
And it was clear as day what they meant.

Opening her eyes, the white cloaked woman gave herself a second to retain and organize the information she acquired, processed it, and sorted it into words to speak to her employer. After everything was neatly organized on the tip of her tongue and in the front of the her mind, Raven turned from the groaning of displeased and empty-handed others, scooted through them all, and disappeared like a white shadow down the halls.

The carvings would translate to those who knew them as "Her name is Kubu Midwan, she is of the Kissai caste. Her crimes reach from her family, they indulged in the light, refused to do traditional sacrifice, and refused to honor the fight. Family has been dealt with according to laws, this child is to serve however. She will spend two hundred years in this oubliette so that she doesn't suffer the consequences of her family's poison."

"Someone get a 3po-protocol droid." Gigi said as Ani attempted to talk to her. Kubu didn't understand anything the man was saying. "Kam buti zuti ant Nu dary nenx kioska voy?" She asked. (What is going on I don't understand) A 3po came in as she said it. "Oh my." It said. "I will have to hear more of that to understand, but I believe she doesn't understand." It said. "Well no **** she's 5,000 years old at least. Try to ask her name" Gigi said. The droid attempted to say something to her, all she understood was name. "Kubu Midwan." She said.

Zechs opened the fridge in the facility's breakroom. He wasn’t sure what beer he wanted. Bonadan brews were the best, but Naboo seemed to have a hard time getting them in. It must have been due to ignorance and not prejudice. He ended up settling on on a local whiskey and went searching for a clean cup. Finding none, Zechs took the bottle and went for the little walk back to the observation room. He was sure someone else would appreciate a swig.

It didn’t bother him a 5,000 year old dead person was up and causing a scene a few rooms over. That was what the jedi was for. Jedi were good with scenes. It wasn't like he was a smart person, but maybe by not being in there, he was the smartest around. It all depended if the living dead person was packing really old germs or laser eyes. You could never be too safe with weird aliens who were once essentially dead and now back to life. Always send the jedi in first. It was a good rule of thumb.

So, no Basic.

The duck quacked again, and Jedi Rainwalker maintained a casual look about him. Yet, that was only for show: inwardly, he was prepared to deal with any threat this girl could pose. Yet, the compassionate side of him continued to hope that this girl would, in fact, not pose a threat. She appeared to be quite young, on second glance; almost a child.

Now, while Jedi Rainwalker could not exactly speak - or even effectively comprehend - the ancient, forgotten language; during his few encounters with Lord Blood he had heard him ramble on in it quite often. 'Jidai' was a word he got to hear quite often, and one didn't need half a logic circuit to figure out what that meant. Moreover, during his routine study of ancient history holocrons, he had come across a few choice words of the Elder Tongue whose meanings were known to the Jedi, either through being preserved in derivative languages, as loanwords to Basic like the one the girl seemed to recognise ('name'), or as cognates in modern, living tongues.

"Droid, continue to analyze her as she speaks for word order, phonology and morphology; compare with all six million forms of communication you have stored in you and mechanically reconstruct her tongue," he instructed. Meanwhile, Ani had to keep the girl talking so that the droid could do as instructed effectively.

"So... Kubu?" he emphasized her name, before pointing at himself, and saying, "... Annan," to show her it was his equivalent of 'Kubu'. He paused, recalling some of the few words of the Old Tongue which were documented in the Jedi Archives.

Ani then pointed at the remnant of an oubliette behind Kubu. "Kuris... tu... box?"

He knew 'What you box?' probably made little sense, but he was trying to ask her what she was doing in the oubliette and how she ended up there. In any case, the objective was to get Little Miss Sithahontas to speak a bit more so that the droid had something to analyze for machine-reconstructing the language.

Dafi the Quadduck quacked again, before flying off Ani's shoulder to where Zechs was - just so Zechs didn't try to hit on Zulara behind Ani's back. The Duck kept watch, and the Duck's watchful glance saw through all of Papa Zechs' habits. The Duck had known Papa Zechs' since he was but an egg, after all. Through the Force bond, Ani felt that the Duck thought he should consider taking a crash course in sith linguistics from Lord Blood the next time they met. Ani liked the idea, and filed it away for future contemplation.
