Unsafe Grounds (Closed/Ask)

Post by Evelyn Swann » Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:06 pm

Location Unknown...

Soft whispers... echoes... distant chatter and laughter. The air heavy and strangling. The Dark Side of the Force emitting from everywhere. Evelyn Swann had woken up very sore from her wounds obtained previously aboard that damned ship. A stinging pain cursing through her muscles throughout her entire body made Evelyn not really wanting to move at all. Not to speak of being quite disoriented as well. Her senses were weakened, again. The small ringing in her ears made it impossible for her to know or even locate where in the galaxy the young lady could be. And the excruciating headache… was this the Light Side of the Force testing her resolve or maybe preparing her for something much worse than this?

Unable to see due to a thick cloth covering her head and her arms restrained securely behind her back, the young Padawan felt her weapons had been taken from her. The only thing Miss Swann did know for sure though was all the strong, dark presences all around her. Her connection to the Force was still strong, despite her normal senses being blocked at the moment, the brunette felt many strong auras pulsating through the ever flowing Force. Some stronger than others and what worried Evy the most, some felt familiar. Where ever she was currently, it wasn't safe grounds.

It was never a question of whether she would be able to sneak up on the Jedi. It would be deluded to think someone who didn't have the Force could take a Force-user by surprise, and her previous attempt to capture the Jedi by threat of murder against an innocent had failed. So, Emic did what she was best at: the use of overwhelming physical violence. There were no words, just fists, and after an exchange of blows, the Jedi was cowed.

Now here she sat, in front of the brig of the Core Predator, awaiting Ziost ground control to allow them to land. The Zabrak was silent, except for the sound of chewstim between her teeth, silently gloating in her victory. This confrontation had given her insight. She could defeat a lone Jedi with the right know-how, but there are always dozens of laserbrains willing to throw their lives away for a single Jedi.

"Chief, we're heading in to land."

Emic got up, leaving a small puddle of blood in her chair from the several vibroblade cuts she received during her showdown with the Jedi whelp. Her hate for this Padawan had cooled over the hyperspace ride to Ziost, as their interaction had played over in her head. Fear had touched the Jedi, but never gripped her. She felt anxiety, but never cowardice. Emic could never respect someone she had beaten, but she had seen the way this Jedi fought when others would have given up. Emic knew how Ziost affected the Force, even all the way out here in space. Even now, though, this Jedi's will was not completely shattered. Maybe this whelp could be something someday. Or maybe it would just be entertaining to watch that strength of spirit die.

Emic pulled out her pistol and gently pushed the barrel against Evelyn's covered head. "This is our stop, kid. You know the drill. Get up, no sudden moves, go where I tell you, or I'll kill you. Beginner stuff."

Whether her direct employer would be pleased or not, was not Emic's concern. She had only her own glory to worry about, and she had shown off for the Sith elite with this mission.

=Ziost=

Lt. Alstair sat at his station in what was traffic control for the main citadel on Ziost. It had been quiet, and as such no meddling from the Sith Lords which always made his job much easier and a little less stressful. Normally he would feel this way but the recent arrival a few days prior of the Emperor’s hand Darth Warvanus had everybody on edge. The news of the return of Emperor Tormentous had come to Ziost and the purpose of the Sith Lord’s visit , whom it was learned was the hand of the returning Emperor.

Alstair came back to himself when one of his instruments beeped at him as if to stir him from his reverie. The incoming transport had just been given clearance and had begun its’ approach.

Captain, we have a prisoner transport arriving in Bay 3” he reported.

Captain Roth a middle aged human made an expression then his eyes flashing with anger. “Why is it coming here, Prisoners are supposed to be processed at Dromond Kaas” Of course it was not the young Lieutenant’s fault. Everybody was on edge. The Captain went over to Alstair’s station and looked at the readings. “Show me the request” he ordered.

Alstair complied and showed it to him. He recognized the code, and the cargo and it all made sense now. The code was one associated with the elite unit The Kings In Yellow and they had themselves a Jedi prisoner. Protocol demanded the senior Sith Lord be notified which was currently Darth Warvanus. He stepped away from the console.

Send two units to Bay three and I want two available Sith apprentices to assist” Roth ordered. Another officer also a Lieutenant acknowledged the order and went to work to make it happen.

I will contact Darth Warvanus to apprise him of the development” Roth said really addressing nobody, with that declaration he left the traffic control and went to his office. It was very close to Traffic Control which was convienant. Once inside he sat and opened a comm to the chambers that Warvanus settled into. However he did not get the War-Bringer himself.

“What is it Captain” came a woman’s voice. The Captain almost faltered when he answered but remembered his voice.

We have a transport that is inbound, carrying a Jedi prisoner” Roth said

Silence dominated the comm before Kinta Vetasa replied “I will inform my Master, I trust appropriate preparations have been made?

Yes M’aam” came the reply

“Good, I want you to go and oversee this personally Captain”

Very well” he said before the communication ended.

Next Roth would instruct security to prepare a cell to contain a Jedi. They had a few cells where Ysalmari ran freely, it would be perfect. Once he was done, he made his way to Landing Bay three. Once he arrived two Sith apprentices and two units of troopers were standing at attention, waiting for the transport. One thing about the arrival of Warvanus to Ziost, everybody was more efficient in protocol and execution.

Young Evelyn did her best to keep her breathing calm and collected to reduce the pain from her current wounds and injuries. Yes, they had been humane enough to remove the metal shrapnels and stop most of the bleeding from her cuts, but she was still left in a blurred echo of pain. To her it only showed that these people were not to be trifled with. However, she was not afraid. Fear wasn't a part of her, maybe a slight uncertainty or uneasy feeling about the unknown, but that was it. She had faced her demons long ago and the Light Side was always with her on her journey down this confusing and narrow path testing her and challenging her at every chance it would get.

She was at peace with her choice though. Miss Swann wanted to be a Jedi and help those in need. So that was what she had chosen. The brunette would trust wholeheartedly in the Light Side of the Force even after the day she no longer had a physical form. She knew deep down that she'd always be a part of it.

As her mind wandered, trying to fall back into a normal state, she sensed someone close by, their presence in the Force quite familiar. It was the Zabrak who had hunted her down aboard the ship, whom she had fought against to try and get away, alas it hadn't been so. The Zabrak woman was clever as well as experienced in the field. Their fight had from Evelyn's point of view almost been a battle of survival, and she had lost inevitably due to her injuries and fatigue. Not to speak of her enemy's backup, Evy never stood a chance against them all at such close quarters and low endurance. Now she was here, wherever here was.

Feeling the barrel of a pistol placed against her head in a calmly manner, the woman spoke again. The young Padawan couldn't help but quirk a brow behind the cloth piece covering her head. She understood perfectly what was being said, except for the killing part. If they could have killed her or wanted to kill her off then she would have been dead already. They kept her alive for a reason. What reason she was yet to find out. "I truly hope for your own sake, that your overconfidence won't be your undoing someday..." Miss Swann replied softly, as she slowly rose from her current position, wincing a bit from the soreness and pain from the wounds different places on her legs. Taking a calm deep breath, she stood, doing her utmost to feel through the Force what was going on around her.

A simple quip from a self-righteous Jedi. Despite Emic's initial curling of the lip at such a remark, it made her think briefly. Emic's own death was never far away, and she liked it that way. One day, she'd die, and she'd do so in the most glorious rain of blood that the galaxy had ever seen. In that way, her overconfidence would indeed be her undoing, and indeed, there's no other way she would have it.

"I'm actually counting on it," she replied coyly. She extended her arm and her ysalamir dutifully crawled up onto her shoulders from the wall of the brig. The dripping from Emic's wounds slowed now, to the pace of a mildly leaky faucet. The Zabrak grabbed the arm of the Jedi and guided her out of the cell, turning her around and walking her in front, barrel of a blaster pistol squarely between her shoulder blades.

They stepped down the landing ramp, and Emic noticed a welcoming party. Emic let out a small, coarse laugh. "They sure sent us a lot of security. Guess they're scared of you, kid."

Flanked by two other operators of the Aurek-112, Emic stepped forward and awaited whoever was in charge to make themselves known.

Kinta Vetasa, a Sith Lord under Darth Warvanus stepped forward. She had a bit of a swagger as she walked. She was fit, athletic, her hair tied up in a ponytail, her lightsaber clipped to her hip. One could tell she had a military background before she became the apprentice of the War-Bringer. She stepped in front of the security detail.

"They sure sent us a lot of security. Guess they're scared of you, kid." the woman with the blaster had said to the Jedi.

Kinta chuckled at the comment, but then replied "Quite the contrary, We wanted to make our guest feel welcome" she said with a slight sneer on her lips, not one that would intimidate, as that was not her style. It was one to convey humor, maybe a bit of sarcasm.
She continued

"Welcome to Ziost, I am Lord Vetasa, apprentice to Darth Warvanus" As she introduced herself she was sizing up the prisoner.
As she studied the Jedi she looked at Emic "I see your reputation is well earned, I know you were doing your duty in apprehending this Jedi, but I will personally make sure you and your fine Elite squadron are well compensated" there was no sarcasm or anything other to pay a rare compliment. She still knew where she came from and while she was not a Special Forces operative she still had a respect and appreciation for them.

She took a step up to the Jedi she tried to gauge her power in the Force but for the Ysalmari on the arm of the Zabrack she found she could not use the Force. She had been an elite Sniper for the Dawn Patrol, which was Warvanus’ Special Forces unit, until the team was broken up to help train the military. By that time Kinta who was codenamed “Black Widow” had already began her apprenticeship to the Sith Lord. In her apprenticeship she learned to rely on other means other than the Force. Compounded with her military background she showed no sign of discomfort or weakness when the veil of the Force was covered to her. She addressed her guest.

"Welcome to Ziost Jedi, these men will escort you to your room, resist and they will be authorized to use deadly force" she paused before continuing. "and by Deadly I mean Fatal" She then nodded and the security detail took custody of the prisoner. Once again she addressed the Zabrack

"I will see to it you are fully restocked with supplies and fuel anything you need with a little extra" she glanced at the security detail who had placed themselves ready to take custody when Emic was ready to turn the Jedi over. One thing could not be said that Warvanus was not generous to those who show skill and competence.

The Zabrak woman's response didn't really surprise her, but what did surprise the young brunette lady was the fact that, when she tried to feel through the Force what was going on, it was as if her senses had been closed off. Her brows furrowed underneath the cloth covering her head, something close to them was blocking her connection in a way. So Evelyn was completely blind to everything around her. Right now the only thing she could trust was her hearing and what she could touch.

Being grabbed by the arm and moved forward, Miss Swann felt the barrel once more, only this time it was against her upper back. The woman's short laughter and comment made her frown in confusion as she obviously couldn't see. However, something told her that she needed to be on her guard even though she couldn't use the Force. Evy could not tell what it was as her thoughts were interrupted by another female voice whom was just as coy as the Zabrak had been. Their way of making her feel "welcome" was a joke, one Evelyn knew was made on purpose. Sith had and would always be on her list of stuff to avoid. Their anger, hatred, suffering and manipulation… all of it was just bad.

Listening intently at the small information given to her, the brunette wasn't a fan. She had a sense that the Zabrak and her team were elites of some kind already when they were back on the ship out in the open sea, but getting it confirmed helped her to better understand. This needed to be contemplated on as she still did not know why she was here on Ziost. Basically Evelyn was within the core and heart of Sith territory. Getting back out would seem to be quite the challenge, but one the young lady was determined to accomplish one way or the other. She always found a solution.

When this Lord Vetasa addressed her personally, Evy wasn't sure if her last words were meant to scare her or not. Regardless of the true meaning and intent, Evelyn didn't have much of a choice in the matter as of right now.
"How would I be able to resist with such a fancy and heartwarming welcome? I mean, I can't see it obviously, but I am sure you all went out of your way with this..." Her tone was calm and collected with a vibe of sarcasm as she stood there with her hands tied behind her back and the cloth bag over her head. She knew full and well that she was a prisoner to the Sith now and with every fiber of her being she would do everything to remain her own self.

Emic gave the Jedi a sharp push toward her new captors. Her role in this was done. The dog had eaten the dog, and her belly was full.

"My regards to the big guy," Emic declared. She felt a twinge of sympathy for the Jedi. It was no big matter though. The sympathy was what gave a hunt meaning. She addressed the Padawan one final time. "Good luck, kid. You'll need it," she said before letting out a muted cackle and turning back toward her ship with her soldiers in tow.

The Apprentice of Darth Warvanus nodded to Emic when she said to give her regards to the big guy. She briefly watched her as the group made their departure. She had wondered where her Master was, she knew he was here on Ziost but he had been indisposed much as of late. She knew he was studying, spending alot of time in the Hall  of the Arcane. She attributed his absenteeism to that. Till he re-emerged she would make their “guest” comfortable.

She had been facing away from the Jedi but now turned her attention fully to her.She studied her, even as she tried to put up a front. She did not know what she was going to face. Kinta wanted to cuff her for her smart mouth but thought better of it. Instead she started to leave, the guards nudging the Jedi to follow.  As they walked Kinta could feel the Force returning but it was short lived as they entered the prison block, where Ysalmari ran free the Force once again could not be felt.  The sooner she got out of its influence the better. She opened the cell door.  The cell was not dank and damp, it was quite livable adorned with only a bed and a toilet. The walls were not bars but regular walls with camera concealed to monitor the prisoner. There was nothing that could be used to escape. Kinta stood by the door, as the guards would escort her in,they were not rough with her. Those had been her Master’s instruction.  It had struck her odd but she was not about to defy the word of her Master.Once Eve was secured inside the cell the door closed and locked.  Kinta instructed the guards towatch her. All 4 heavily armed guards would do all they could to make sure the Jedi would not escape.  Kinta took her leave.

=Elsewhere=

All secure” came the voice a woman’s voice.  Darth Warvanus was pleased it had gone smoothly.  Emic not only did well in apprehending this Jedi but the way she was processed also went well. His apprentice never ceased to disappoint him.

You have done well my apprentice” he began “Make sure the Kings in yellow are well compensated, I will signal you when I am ready to meet our new guest.”  He had no desire to kill the Jedi , maybe he could turn herto the Sith, and then he would present her to the Emperor as a gift. If he could not turn her then he would do what he did to all his enemies which would be to send to the abyss. His research would have to continue later , as he put away the texts he had taken out. His research into Deadly Sight bore little fruit here. He made the notes he needed to, made copies and then departed. It would be a few hours before Warvanus would meet their guest and when the time came, it would be Kinta and the same guards who would escort the Jedi.

Re: Unsafe Grounds (Closed/Ask)

Evelyn didn't know what outcome to expect from her comment. Would they be bothered? Maybe, but that was something for her to think about later, as the sudden push caused the young brunette to stumble forward with a light gasp trying to regain her balance. The comments from the Zabrak woman did not make her feel less confused or uneasy, but she refused to allow herself to panic. There was no reason to. Plus it wasn't luck Evy needed. It was a better understanding as to why the Light Side of the Force had led her down this particular path. There was a reason, alas not one she knew of just yet.

The Padawan felt someone grab her in her fall before she heard multiple foot steps clank against the floor and then growing silent as they got further away. This was it, in the middle of Sith and menacing people upon the planet of Ziost… what did the Force want with her here?

Still unable to see anything Evy felt a slight nodge from behind her as more foot steps began to stir around her. Taking a deep breath she slowly took one step after another forward to somewhere. Then it was as if the thick cloud around her hiding the Force from her disappeared and she was able to sense her surroundings briefly. It was sadly only momentarily before it once again was gone. How was this possible? What in the galaxy did they possess that caused such a wall between herself and the ever living and flowing Force?

Hearing an almost sighing swush from a metal door opening, Evelyn had a sense that they had come close to their destination. Though what she found peculiar was the fact that no other words were spoken in that moment. Coming to a stop she heard the heavy footsteps disappeared behind her and the door closed once more. Listening intently at her surroundings Evelyn couldn't hear anything. Blinking confused underneath the cloth bag, the young lady had no intention to just stand there like a dumb scared lamb. She was still tied up and unable to see a darn thing in front of her but that would not stop her.

Crouching she winced from her wounds as she kept her arms close to her body before she allowed gravity to take over. Falling backwards, Miss Swann rolled over to get her hands and arms in front of her instead. Leaning upon one knee from the roll, as the pain was stinging like a hot day in the Dune Sea on Tatooine, she reached up to remove the bag over her head. The light from the cell caused her eyes to squint from being left in the dark for so long. Blinking multiple times Evy blew away some of her hair which had fallen down in front of her features. The hazel orbs stared at the simple room she was within having only a bed and a toilet. Raising a brow the Jedi rose slowly, taking in every little detail in that room.

Not anywhere could she find an instrument or weapon that could have been used to mask the Force from her. Which meant it had to be something outside of those four walls, but what? Moving to the bed, still sore from the back roll, Evelyn sat down carefully in a meditation position and closed her eyes with her tied hands in her lap. Perhaps if she meditated certain things would make more sense to her.
