Help please

Hi guys, I am not exactly sure how this works. (Should I put all of this as OOC, because it is) Anyway, I am having some trouble coming up with a good backstory, so how do you do that? Also, you said you are low on generally "good" players, but I can never really relate to them, like, I feel like I would not really be aware of the political situation enough to oppose it, and the Jedi are just wrong on so many levels. Don't get me wrong, the Sith are too. So if I was a force-user, where would that put me, I don't like the cruelty of the Sith, but I hate the confinements and general emotionlessness of the Jedi. So I don't know how this is going to work, I guess I just need a little help?

The sith aren't ALL bad..... there are darksiders who are not Sith, there are also lightsiders who are not Jedi

When I first joined it took me 3 days to come up with my character and since i couldnt really come up with a decent backstory I played the Amnesia card. This way I could fill that in if and when i wanted. But in creating your character you have so much possibilities do you have any faint ideas on what your character is going to be like?

Well, she doesn't like rules, has a sense of humor (some people aren't going to like that, haha), maybe force sensitive? Will kill if she has to, does not cheat at anything and hates it when others do, lying is ok and stealing is a last resort, very smart, fast learner, doesn't conform to stereotypes/refused to be put in a box, not very good with children or emotions, but good at reading people and can be charismatic when she needs to, and I'm going to work out some other details later.

Hehe sounds like she'd make a good Rouge (Smuggler) You do know you have to apply to be Force Sensitive right? I don't know if anyone's gone over the Force system it is unique here. If you go the Force Sensitive route that is I cant remember what the word requirement is but i dont think its much. Someone with a better memory should be able to answer that better than me.

So you have a character in mind with certain skills and attributes. That's a start!

She does sound like she's be a good rogue of some sorts. Maybe a young person apprenticing with a low level criminal or smuggler. The Blue Star Pirates may be knocking at your door

I know you mentioned briefly what someone has mention the site 'needs' good characters...., but don't create your character to fit anyone else's wants or needs but your own- because in the long run, you'll probably lose interest- because this is a one-character-per-player site! Though it does seem that your character seems in the 'good' realm- just by what you've described. Being worried about being a nonconformist who sometimes lies and steals out of necessity doesn't make them 'not' good people. Though joining a faction- or deciding which way to swing may help with character development.

There's the Jedi, the Galactic Alliance, the Blue Star Pirates, the Galactic Empire, and the Sith. In most people's minds, that list goes from a scale of Good>Neutral>Evil. Though depending on your character, what they grow up with, etc, they may see the Empire as a great force for good. So once you start plugging away some things in your background, your character's future may become a little easier to decide.

If you're interested in going the force sensitive route, but don't want to join the jedi or sith, that's perfectly fine. It's not stated anywhere that you need to join a faction (though it may help ). Though as Kell has stated above, that force sensitivity, and it's subsequent force powers are all granted on an application basis.

Annan, my character, is a Jedi, so naturally.

Well, if you've seen the movies, the factions are not that different. On SL, the Galaxy is a lot more divided than in the movies or the shows, so we have a little bit of everything.

The Galactic Empire's just that: the Empire. They are a dictatorship, bla bla. Led by the Emper(or?/ess?). A perfect blend of order and corruption. Their capital is the planet Bastion. Rule over about half the Galaxy. Currently multiplying like rabbits.

Then there's the Galactic Alliance, ruling over the other half, which is basically like the Republic (from the Prequels) before the Empire. Democracy, freedom, justice, equality, and all that. The capital is the planet Naboo, though they currently have control over Coruscant as well. The Jedi also come under the Alliance, but technically they're their own separate group.

The third one are the Sith, who have a bunch of planets they've taken over and enslaved. They're the local emo kids or bullies. They scream, they maim, they pretend to be Batman and Wolverine, and they run around swinging lightsabers to decapitate innocent Twi'leks, that sorta thing.

Fourthly we have the Blue Star Pirates - the cool guys. Don't know much about them, they're a secretive lot, so ask the Giant Bug up there to fill you in. But from what I've seen, they're basically high-tech space Robin Hoods. Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, that sorta thing. They are allies with the Alliance, and against the Empire and the Sith.
