Zechs related the information in a polite and not at all annoyed tone. He in the mean time did the eleborate dance required to tether his fighter to Bob’s x-wing. It wasn’t fancy, but for a short trip like this, it’d be more than enough. The worst that could happen is Bob could stop early and send him flying off into a star. It’s be ok. Bob didn’t need to smile that much.

One quick last check down the line, Zechs made extra sure the cable was firmly attacked. He could t test it by hand, but the read outs inspired a slight confidence. They had down this before. He really needed to try to outfit the Eta-2 with a TIE’s hyperdrive. Something like that might work. It was worth a look. Independence had its benefits.

YT-2000 light freighter Mahmudiye Scintillance
Hyperspace

Jedi Rainwalker stood, once again gazing out of the viewport with his black-gloved prosthetic hands clasped behind his back. Him and his Aunt's ship had entered hyperspace mere moments after Master Buggie's starships, as soon as they had received the coordinates. Green orbs glistened with the calmness and serenity of an anticipating Jedi.

Bigweld had calculated a 95.12% probability of encountering hostiles.

Jedi Rainwalker was no longer a novice. He took his Security Droid's strategic analysis seriously, which meant that they had to go in prepared. Prepared they were, both individually, and in terms of their vessels. The light freighters him and Zulara owned were primarily cargo transports, but they were fitted with powerful weapons for situations largely like the one they may soon find themselves in. He had already issued Bigweld 2.0 the order to bring weapons online and on stand-by.

What unnerved Ani, was the chance of encountering Sith...

His eyes narrowed, and he crossed his arms over his chest.

The mood in their vessel was tense. He hadn't even heard from Zulara for a while now, which could only mean she too was meditating upon the Force, as he was. Jedi Rainwalker inhaled and cinched his eyes together, before his mind's eye opened to perceive the Force around him. His mind's ears could hear the Force chanting, even as his chest rose and fell while he found his centre in the Permeating Light:

~ Begin Jedi Annan Rainwalker Force Meditation Theme ~

".. The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field...", he heard the voice in the Force, which cast a sound in his mind's ears of an aged, but strongly masculine tone. Yet the sentence was continued by an even elder-sounding, and much raspier voice, "... surrounds us... binds us. Luminous beings are we...", then it switched to the first, deep voice again, and continued, "... more powerful than you can possibly imagine..." and then once again switched to the raspier, geriatric, croaking voice, concluding the sentence, “... you will know, when you are calm, at peace. Passive..."

Jedi Rainwalker opened his eyes, serene and determined - passive, just as the murmurs in the Force directed him to be. He noted that their hyperspace route was about to approach its end. The Force was with him. Whatever was out there, he was ready for it.

The ride of hyperspace was new for Brutus, it would definitely take time to get used to for him. He kept checking things over, trying to get comfortable with the situation. He was told it would take time for him to adjust to this. "Easy Brutus, it will be fine." The Inquisitor said over the com. Her voice didn't really ease the situation, but it did help a little.

Kota checked her systems while in space, she could sense the uneasiness of Brutus with the force. "Easy Brutus, it will be fine." She said over the com. She knew it wouldn't do much to soothe him, it would take him time to get used to these trips. She would drop out of hyperspace when the lead on this would. It was far better to have two experienced ships drop first in case.

Neive looked over his systems before diverting power to the hyper drive, before both of his ships jumped towards his allies to catch up after seeing there were no followers. The two ships held up the back of the alliance's formation, Neive again moving power to the weapons. "Sorry about the delay, I wanted to make sure we weren't followed." His comm reached the other alliance ships as he entered the formation, Neive activating his short range scanners as he stayed cautious. "I have a bad feeling about this..." Why were those words so familiar, he thought? He wasn't sure, but in any case, something was going to happen... and soon.

Another day, another party on the edge of space. Bexel in his GAT-12 increased the thrusters and sidled up to Buggie's vessel. The Nice Jacket followed closely behind. He graciously received the coordinates for the next jump and signaled to The Jacket to do the same. It seemed this time, they were catching a band of stuff-shirt Imperials on the road to Nirauan. Should be fun. The crew took great pleasure in kicking the hornet's nest that was Imperial resource shipping. After all, life on the fringe made it hard for the flailing Imperium to find them. They were small fry. Still, Jak hoped the mysterious "Ryder" was onboard again. Would be fun to make bilking him out of riches a routine.

"What's with the traveling family band clogging our comms, Captain?" Mums muttered. "Alliance ranks that weak nowadays?"

"Who knows, could have been picked up along the way, could be an annoying Padawan. I'll take the latter, they wouldn't let a family band out this far," he trailed off, attention focused on the gathering clouds of intel on their targets.

Onboard The Jacket, Red Eyes was completing scans of what lay ahead when Stretch poked his head through the cockpit doorway.

"Why Nirauan? Tired of the big city?" He asked, words inhibited by the unlit cigar he chomped on the left side of his mouth.

"Why ask me? We're not here for intel, just the sheer inconvenience of it all," Red Eyes said with a handwave to Stretch.

"Sort of like you," Tessa muttered, pulling up the Jacket's weapons system. "Make sure the boarding armament is ready and get down to the turrets, we don't know how much time we'll have. Captain, what's our twenty?"

"Prepare to jump, team," Captain Bexel responded over the intercom from the GAT-12. "Look sharp. This is a larger band than we're used to, but so are we. Don't jump out with weapons ready, we don't want to spook them... but keep them at the ready. On Buggie's lead, initiate the jump."

In unison, Jak and Red Eyes activated the jump to lightspeed. Billowing winds of bright blue enfolded around them and stretched far out into bright illuminating beams, sending them shuttling across the gulf between them and their targets. Both ships shrunk from view, the GAT-12 first and then the Jacket close behind.

Vassyl shifted in his seat as the Proudclad bucked its way out of hyperspace. Another leg of the journey had come and gone, yet the Captain still found himself void of any measurable solace. Whether it was the geography, or pure, perhaps misguided gut instinct, Doren could not shake the feeling that their journey might incur some untold danger. A soldier's intuition was, in truth , both a blessing and a curse. Molding a mental capacity for probable danger was vital to survival on the battlefield. The more flexible one's mind could be, the more versatile they would prove in situations of adversity. That said, such primal instincts for strife and a nose for trouble did not always make for a smooth night's rest, or comfortable day-to-day dealings. Were that the assignment held to the gold standard, Vassyl's worries would hopefully be found false. Despite the current balance of probability, a penumbra of doubt continued to hang over the young officer as he depressed the main thruster controls and sped towards the rest of the convoy.

"Two weeks' leave." Haly said triumphantly as Rhoden cursed fluently under his breath. The ship was running on auto-pilot until and unless things got interesting. "Pure luck." he growled. "Put your credits where your mouth is?" she asked her smile widening further. Rhoden's eye twitched. He opened his mouth to respond and broke off as a ping went off.

Sighing Rhoden stood, walked over to the pilots seat and sat down. Pulling back a lever the freighter dropped out of hyperspace. "I'll deal with you later, Lieutenant." he said. Haly didn't respond but he could practically feel her smug smile.

Ryder read over some news reports from around the galaxy as he waited for their next exit point. His stomach turned at how nasty the galaxy really was as it continued what seemed like endless war. The innocent people of the galaxy truly suffered and Ryder wished there was more he could do to make their lives easier. His reading was interrupted as the pilot of the Action V pulled the large vessel out of hyperspace.

"Nav-officer, start prepping the computers for the next jump," Ryder ordered.

"Sir!" One of the crew yelled out before Ryder could get a reply. "We are picking up several vessels on our long range scanners!"

Ryder let out a string of Huttese curses before replying. "Raise shields and alert the rest of the convoy!"

Things just had to be wild and unpredictable out here.

The countdown toyed around on its march to 0. Zechs closed this eyes. He was brave but not stupid. He wished he was drunk. This wasn't madness. Madness? Madness would be making a blind jump drunk. This was insane. Then it actually happened. The X-wing made the quick jump into and out of hyperspace, pulling his Eta-2 like some ball of yarn.

A jolt. A flash of brightness despite sealed eyes. The loss of a breath. The sudden shock of a quick reversal.

Zechs opened his eyes with no time to peek to make sure he hadn't been slingshotted directly at some foreign star. Survived? Check. Tether let him slip? Check. Hostile Imperials? Multiple checks.

He punched it. The Eta-2 came alive and did a little twirly spin to shake off any of the nervousness the jump had imparted on it. Its black hull sparkled in the blackness of space.

The lead pirate would have words to say. The Imperials would have complaints to register. Then they'd exchange parting gifts of laser fire. It was Anti-Life Day at its finest.

As they pulled out of hyperspace his computer lighted up like a Christmas tree. He panicked, he wasn't ready for this at all. "Calm down Brutus, listen to your Droid and follow suit." She said over the com. He took several breaths trying to calm himself down as the Droid made noises at him. "Ok flipped the shields on." He said. This was going to be his first ship combat.

When they pulled out of hyperspace, she could sense Brutus's fear as her computer buzzed at her. 'Enemies.' She thought. . "Calm down Brutus, listen to your Droid and follow suit." She said over the com. He would have to learn on the fly how to deal with these situations, perhaps it was better this way.
