It wasn’t every day you survived a space battle on the winning side and then had to float out of your fighter anyway. This was a first for him. He was thankful he wore his fashionable ranger armor, but the flight suit additions would make the short blurp through space survivable. With no way back into his fighter, this was going to be a one way trip.

By his sides were two older westar blasers. They weren’t much. He was far from the best or perhaps even a good shot, but they were what he had and could easily carry in an Eta-2. Picky this wasn’t the day to be.

Zechs took a deep breath. He checked his helmet and then the air which made the deep breath slightly awkward considering it might have been a gas.

The cockpit popped open. What air was left went on its vacation in the nothing. Zechs pushed himself out of his chair and into harms way. Hopefully, he’d meet someone else on the way to the boarding. There was no time to wait for reenforcements.

Rhoden, Jorvan, and Haly finally pried open the door. "Everything's down on the freighter." Jorvan said, stating the obvious. "Did we hit our target?" Haly asked. "Only one way to find out." Rhoden said, gesturing to the docking port which hopefully still had a functioning emergency release. He paused by a section of wall. "First, though..." he said, sliding open the section and peering at the deactivated assassin droid within. "Some extra firepower would do us well." the droid activated a brief red glow showing in its eyes before going dark, it stepped down and grabbed the blaster from its back.

Rhoden nodded in satisfaction and walked around the droid to the docking port. He pulled hard on the release which had--at least--popped out with the loss of power. The port opened... into the hangar of the Black Star. "Well, at least something's gone right today." Rhoden said. He keyed his comm on, hopefully it still worked. "Oi, Ryder. We've... er... come aboard. Personally I'd just as soon blow up the ship as hand over anything to this lot." Rhoden said, "But: Your ship, your call. Not to say we won't try to throw 'em off into the void first, just making sure we have a Plan C."

As the raiders had the vessel surrounded, Brutus was just clueless about what to do. "Head back you're no good here yet." Her voice said over the com. "I'm sorry Inquisitor." He said. "Don't." He heard. He understood that this was the risk and he had to learn, better to do it with mistakes than learn through victory. He pushed a few buttons and pulled back away from everything.

This was not a good situation, Brutus was simply not up for this type of work yet. "Head back you're no good here yet." She said over the com. When he tried to apologize "Don't." she said. It wasn't his fault that this had happened, but now she had to do her job. Kota made her way to the Action V, she would have to fight the boarders, once she was there she was wearing a different kind of red armor and ignited her blades.

Doren's breathing became a blur of hoarse exhalations as the Proudclad came bearing sloppily down towards the Black Star's nearest airlock. The Captain's XM-1 had performed admirably, but it was not enough. Clasping loose weaponry to his belt, Doren sent a sad grimace at the smoke billowing out across the cockpit window, before ducking down into the freighter below. Lithely landing on his feet, Vassyl depressed a red button on his wrist module, and soon after strummed a secondary keypad that fed into his main comm line. [Commander, M'lady, Mr. Ryder], the Captain began with as much seriousness as his voice could exude, [I've just touched down: let us rendezvous in the cargo bay. If these rogues have half a brain, their greed will no doubt lead them there: Vassyl out]. Having presented his orders, the young officer then took to the dimly-lit corridor that lay ahead, intent on arriving at the main hold prior to the opposition.

As he walked along, the hysteric clunking of metal at his rear immediately drew Doren's attention. Spinning around, pistol at the ready, Vassyl sighed as the familiar, garish form of his KX-Series security droid came lumbering into view. "Sir! Don't shoot!", the droid offered, almost recoiling where it stood. "That might almost be a kindness at this point Kay-Six", Vassyl dryly answered back, "Come along, we haven't the time for your trepidation". Blinking his photoreceptors in relief, the droid complied post-haste, and maintained a hurried jaunt alongside its benefactor. Though an older model, K6-SL had proven himself to be a worthy adversary against even the mightiest of opponents, even if his demeanor suggested otherwise. Vassyl knew not who had the audacity to steal from the Empire's coffers, yet whoever they were, the Captain and his metallic ally would give them a due reckoning for their misguided assault.

The light freighters, YT-2000 Scintillance and YT-1300 Effulgence
Wild Space
Unknown system, unknown sector

Despite his heartfelt desire to have had this conflict end before it ever began, Jedi Rainwalker was forced to display his starpiloting skills at the onset of the dogfight. Both his and Zulara's vessels had taken their fair share of damage - his more, as he in his pacifist nature tried to minimise enemy casualties to the best of his ability, instead firing at strategic points on the opponent starships with the intention of disabling with as little damage as possible to critical life support systems. Ultimately, however, both the YT-2000 Scintillance and the YT-1300 Effulgence had come out on top in this space battle.

As O.M.5 brought the Scintillance beside the enemy vessel, the multiple powerful flares in the Force made Jedi Rainwalker realise quickly that he was heading straight towards another battle. Thus, the Knight left the cockpit for the back of the ship, where he kept his weapons and supplies, and geared up.

He had no qualms about donning his (also-painted black) old Antarian Ranger armor under his black robes - it actually ended up giving him a slightly bulkier appearance and made the 5'11" man-in-black look more intimidating. The Antarian Ranger armor afforded him a powerful layer of physical defense, and defense against aggression had always been the Jedi way.

Jedi Rainwalker also had a Corellian Spark Grenade he had picked up from... well, Drall, a place he often visited and one of Corellia's neighbours in the Corell system. He picked it up and clipped to to his belt, for it may end up being helpful when trying to make a dastardly escape or damage the enemy ship from the inside. It certainly packed a wallop.

The real philosophical challenge came when he had to choose a hand weapon.

Jedi Rainwalker had learnt about the existence of creatures such as the ysalamiri the hard way in one of his recent adventures. That had made him a bit more careful about relying excessively on his Force skills, however essential he felt the Force was to his very existence. Thus, he stared at the two objects in each of his hands - the black hilt of his green lightsaber in one, and his old DH-17 heavy blaster in the other, for a few moments.

Closing his eyes in silent meditation, Jedi Rainwalker came to a conclusion.

He was a Jedi.

While there was no prohibition on Jedi about using blasters, it just didn't feel right to him. A lightsaber could be used for blocking and redirecting blaster fire; for defense. Yet, a blaster could only be used for offense. And despite all his impulsiveness as a Padawan, Rainwalker had grown to realise that attacking first was not the Jedi way. Thus, Annan Anakin Rainwalker threw his blaster towards Bigweld 2.0, his SEP-1 Security Droid with the head of KX-unit - who caught it, as he prepared to board with Ani.

The Jedi on the other hand, gripped his long and shiny black lightsaber hilt in both hands. 'This weapon is your life!' he heard the Force whisper to him, as if encouraging him and congratulating him on having made the correct decision.

Jedi Rainwalker felt the Force flowing through him, and resonating with the green kyber crystal that formed the heart of his lightsaber.

This weapon was his life.

From the other ship, the YT-1300, his aunt Zulara Rainwalker alone would be entering, armed with her purple lightsaber and all her incredible skills in the Force. Thus, the Jedi and his Security Droid both approached the blast door as it slid open to unveil the interior of the enemy vessel.

The green glow fell upon Jedi Rainwalker's black armored attire as he ignited his plasma blade and assumed the defensive Shien stance.

The space battle had proceeded like so many others in the history of the galaxy. Buggie could not recall who fired the first shots, but soon enough the void of space had been illuminated by the criss-crossing of crimson, amber, and emerald laser cannons. Buggie had to bring his ship into a steep dive to avoid retaliatory missiles launched at him after he punched a few rounds into the shields of the lead transport. From there, the chase was on and the rest was a blur. Buggie had avoided the dangerous missiles thanks to the countermeasures system loaded into the aft end of his Nighthawk Gunboat and in the end, the mixed lot of Blue Star Pirates and Galactic Alliance vessels forced the Imperial escorts to take cover within the lead transport. It was an odd choice, Buggie thought as he forced a YT-2000 to take a hard landing directly into the cargo hold of the lead transport, but if the escorts had consolidated into the hold of the lead transport, that must have meant that there was something worth protecting within.

Buggie had grown experienced enough in reaving with his pirate companions that he knew time was not on their side. There was almost no chance that the lead transport hadn't signaled for assistance from the local Imperial patrol. Even this far out of civilized space, the Empire would rally forces powerful enough to drive off he and his Galactic Alliance allies, particularly if they were engaged in a boarding action on the lead transport.

On the other hand, he and the rest of the impromptu raiders hadn't just risked their lives to turn tail and run. The transports were a rare source of treasure and prisoners that could be used for the greater good. Buggie and his squad had defeated the group of Imperials once; they could do it again and force their surrender.

Following Jedi Rainwalker's lead, Buggie docked with the transport and readied himself. It was standard for Blue Star Pirate vessels to carry a cache of boarding supplies, and luckily Buggie had personally prepared this bomber weeks ago. As he slithered out of his flight suit and transferred the life support module to his camouflage armor, Buggie ensured that he was properly suited for the boarding action. His lightsaber was firmly clasped to his belt, as was the capsule that carried a duracord-based net weapon that was foreign to Buggie. On his armor's gauntlet was an undeployed vibroshield, while a bandoleer he carried had a personal shield generating device and a grenade attached. The only thing that remained was the most wicked of the ultra-expensive Nighthawk Gunboat's features-- an onboard security droid that could be deployed if entering a boarding situation such as this. With the touch of a few commands on the shipboard console, a small droid emerged from the side console between the main pilot's seat and the co-pilot's station, which was located directly behind. Unsure of how the droid could provide any sort of assistance to him, Buggie studied it for a moment and decided that he would have to find out firsthand.

With no more time to waste, as Jedi Rainwalker was already aboard the transport, Buggie passed through the docking tube and linked up with his allies.

Everything had gone from bad to worse, as Ryder ran down the hall to his ship’s armory. The ship rocked several times from the raiders’ onslaught. The comms flared to life with his escorts trying to coordinate but it quickly became clear things weren’t going their way. The escorts began linking up with the Action V to try to repel the pirates.

“All personnel, evacuate the halls, lock up in your quarters, security personnel protect those areas, leave the cargo protection to the Imperials,” Ryder spoke through the ships speakers before the boarders arrived.

Ryder removed his trench coat revealing his Camosuit underneath. He quickly grabbed his cortosis blastsword from its sheath on one of his weapon racks. He proceeded to attach his vibroshield to his right arm at which point he grabbed his heavy blaster and put it in his holster. Ryder clipped a spark grenade to his belt right next to his PSG. One double check of everything and he nodded to himself and stepped out into the hall.

Standing waiting for him in the hall was Klik, his HK assassin droid. “Barely contained excitement: They’re beginning to board master, the Imperials have just arrived and are heading to the cargo hold.”

“Thank you Klik, have the rest of the Security droids protect the crew.”

“Overjoyed response: Will do master, let go fight some unwanted guests..”

“Yes Klik, lets, just have to hold them long enough for the Imperial back up to arrive.”

Neive's plan had worked to perfection. After an EMP dropped from his fighter into the bridge of the escorting ship, those inside were forced to take refuge in the leading transport. Neive looked at the hangar bay shield before following the others as he thought. He grabbed one of the life support systems, used in case a ship was destroyed, to keep the person alive while in space. Neive crouched in his seat, turning his ship sideways compared to the others, and hit eject.

Within moments, he was in the hangar bay, as his aggressor moved and the pilot droid shot a tow cable to his interceptor. Neive caught his breath quickly as he took the support off, the air from the ship entering his lungs. Neive sighed, chuckling. "Always make an entrance."

Neive, as he regrouped with the others, could feel the equipment rustling on his body. The two vibro blades on his hips, recently sharpened, and his spark grenade attached to his belt. His EMP detonator, although only to be used as a last resort, was kept tightly to the back of his belt. His armor gripped to his skin as he moved towards the group, the Ranger armor of the Antarians one of the best sets available.

"Watch that crossfire, captain! What are you doing out there?!" Red Eyes was on edge, hollering over the comms and yet echoing through The Jacket.

"Oh come now, Red. I'm just testing the new baby, no harm in that," Jak waved him off.

"While you're at it, be mindful of your other baby!" Red shouted and closed the comm, firing upon a TIE and swiveling the flat hull of the YT-2000 to avoid its green laser trail.

The Jacket and the new GAT-12 were intertwined in battle, weaving in and out of the laser traffic. Their primary purpose was to protect Buggie. To that end, Jak was on missile duty. His sensors detected a fresh array, and so The GAT broke off from their tight formation. Within moments the homing missile had a new target, confusing its lock sequence with the GAT, who took them for a ride. He rode the ship in a loop and barrel rolled up and down along the main transport. It would land across the bow of the said transport, weakening their shields and probably alerting them to the Yellow Terror weaving a flight pattern of doom around the transport.

"So far, so good, eh?" He lightly elbowed Riz, looking to her for support in the jest.

She gave him none.

Instead, the battle continued for what may have been an hour but to all involved seemed a prolonged series of moments. Red Eyes was a capable if skittish captain, and his work was buoyed by the entire Jacket crew. They had proven their worth ten times over in this venture, working together on turrets and missiles to outlast the oncoming swarm of Imperial entanglement. Stretch was a nightmare on the turret gun, rattling off endless insults and trash talk to his victims.

Mums too, was a beast with the weaponry of the GAT. He and Jak were tearing through space, a glowing horror of hot crimson. As Buggie broke off to board, Jak and Mums spent a moment on an unlucky TIE who made a hint of a b-line for Buggie's Gunboat. It exploded in an electrical mess and drifted off. Truth be told, the Nitehawk barely needed saving. Mums just wanted things to go boom, while Jak flew it with ease; its handling worked with his reckless style of combat. Spinning the rear wings as he fired, he unleashed a cyclone of laser fire onto a cadre of enemy fighters who broke off their formation to evade him.

"It's not a tactic, you guys are just mashing buttons," Riz admonished him, her work at the sensors alerting them to a retreat effort.

"It's called spinning, and dammit it's a good trick," He retorted, sending a torpedo onto the broadside of a TIE's wing.

It detonated on impact, sending the combusted ball that was a ship ricocheting into its wingman. Jak chuckled with a worrisome glee as he weaved through the explosion towards the main transport. It was time to board. Meanwhile, Ellem had found a "boarding chest" in the rear section of the ship. Next to it was a deactivated Destroyer droid, balled up and waiting for action. As Jak steered the ship into a landing pattern, he disengaged his seatbelt and hopped up to meet his squawking droid in the back section. Riz took over and released the landing gear, Mums hopping to sensors while keeping a keen eye on any need for armaments in the hangar.

"Red, set a jump for the base. We'll reconvene there," he said amid the rush of armoring up.

"Are your udders hanging out the airlock?! What if you get captured?" Red shouted over the comms.

"Then I trust you to come find us."

With that, he disengaged the comm and clicked his boarding helmet down into place. For a brief moment, Riz looked back at him and the two shared a look, an understanding of some sort. When their eyes met he remembered that this was not a game, and it grounded him. He cut off the tender moment with a contorted wink that broke whatever tension between them and turned back to Ellem. She released her lighting rod, a thumbs-up if ever there was one from a ball droid. With a pat on the top of her dome, he exited the GAT. His team were just up ahead, and behind him were the very best team a pirate could ask for. No better people for the boardingfield.
