Outland Mining - Flight 0521 - Blue Star Pirates

Post by Master Buggie » Tue May 04, 2021 9:05 pm

**Mid Rim**
**Lantillian Sector, P-8**
**Perlemian Trade Route, Lantillies System**

Having recently deposited his travel companion, Antarian Ranger Gary Storm, back with his family and the Jedi at Permafrost, Buggie was kept busy preparing to operate the twin cargo haulers of Outland Transport on his own. The mission to resupply Cresh Fleet within the Gordian Reach had come straight from the Pirate Council, and it was a crucial task. A raiding fleet could subsist on the supplies that they brought in with them, as well as the prizes that they captured along the way while raiding commerce, but those operations meant that certain necessities were naturally consumed and could not be replenished, as they simply weren't encountered in normal raiding operations. This was where Buggie's resupply mission came in to fill the gaps in Cresh Fleet's needs. Two transports could only do so much, but it was decided that Buggie's experience in infiltrating the Gordian Reach made him the best sentient for the task. Any more transports would attract too much attention, particularly since it was necessary to traverse Imperial territory, as well as Sith territory in order to reach the designated rendezvous at the fringe of the nebulous area of space known as The Roil.

And so Buggie found himself here on the frontier of Galactic Alliance and Imperial territory within the Lantillies system. Skirmishes in this area of space were common as the Empire tested the Alliance's picket forces along the Perlemian, and vice versa. The confusion and constantly shifting balance of power would, according to Buggie's plans, permit him to slip over to the Gizer system and immediately jump galactic northwest toward the Corsin system on the Vaathkree Trade Corridor. From there, he would follow the Hydian Way galactic northeast and have his pick of any three infiltration points into the Gordian Reach, depending on what he learned along the way. Monitoring the HoloNet was always helpful, as was picking up on chatter from other spacers. While the plan on its face was nothing special, it was a tried and tested method for navigating unfriendly space lanes, and Buggie had come to lean on this technique for his continued successes.

Having recognized that he was as ready as he would ever be, Buggie engaged the hyperdrive for the short jump toward the Gizer system, and, afterwards, another hyperspace jump along the Vaathkree.

Ranah had gotten word about a convoy that was going to supply a pirate fleet within Sith Space, she had volunteered to act as escort to this convoy it was not a GA convoy but it was not helping their common enemy the Sith. The whole Enemy of my Enemy is a friend, only the relations between the pirates and the GA were complicated. Nevertheless she hoped this act of good faith would strengthen such relations. She hopped into her newly requisitioned fighter an ETA-2. It was not long when she was in her flightsuit and her astromech was in its socket, She climbed aboard and began the pre flight checklist. Ranah was not an Ace pilot but she could hold her own. She figured this was a good test for her augmenting her growing powers in the Jedi Arts.

She flipped switches and pressed buttons, the engines were whining ready to come to life. When she was ready the cockpit closed, and awaited clearance to take off, once granted she put the engine throttle forward and the small Starfighter took off from Koda Station. It would rendezvous with a hyperspace ring, and then make way to catch up with the convoy.

Once the docking was complete, she waited for the navicomputer to give her a course

Zechs sat in his missile boat escorted by a droid piloted TIE-Defender. This wasn’t his ideal activity, but it was worth having someone dip in and out of spacelanes on occasion. A little look at cargo here and cargo going there. To see if there were, less than legal items in the holds. Or items potentially unhelpful to the Alliance’s cause. Even if the cargo was only held temporarily before it was released, it often proved fruitful. Or if the cargo was seized a little ways outside of… Details. What did they matter?

They just had to find a ship or two worth… Studying. Yes, that was a fitting word. Imperial destined. Sith. Even cargo gained by piracy or with pirating homes were worth detaining. It wasn’t Zechs’s fault if the cargo was lost in the legal course of their duty by someone in the bureaucracy. This wasn’t the Jedi Order. There were plenty of idiots.

So Zechs and the droid waited. Quietly. Alone in the dark. Plotting where they’d stay for a while then move on to the next potentially really bad place to be. It wasn’t the most thrilling activity in the galaxy, but it was what was needed at the moment. So someone had to go out there and mess with the troublemakers by making trouble, and the duty fell to Zechs. It was going to be a long one, but the moral was the same.

Every dent in evil’s might was a gift to the light.

I know early but I put it in the system, so don’t want to confuse anyone else.

In the rules section, please keep in mind your appropriate entry window. Not following these guidelines may exclude you from participation in the Spacelanes Thread.

Ranah flicked a few more switches, and laid in the course, moments later she was in hyperspace. She examined the instrumentation and her weapons store's list. She was fully armed and ready if a conflict rises up. Hopefully this would be just a routine escort of a supply convoy. Ranah leaned back in the pilot's seat, and went along for the ride, it would not be long that she would be at the coordinates.

She stretched out with the Force letting herself be opened to its currents. This would be a good exercise to put into what she learned to use.

The Sovereign barely needed intel to aid him as it seemed all too common for supply runs to cross the territory that was planned for interception. With Nil helming Silas’s ATR-6 it gave the Sith priest an opportunity to test his latest ship. With the funds held during his days on Eshan and earnings pillaged as a Sith the Sovereign now piloted a matte black K-Wing accompanied by a hyperdrive docking ring. “Make sure to hold back until we get a proper scope of the potential mark. If what we were told doesn’t align with a good haul I’ll not waste our effort.” Silas instructed Nil over an encrypted com. “Yes, it would be a shame to go empty handed, again, my lord.” The assassin’s comments grated Silas immensely as he had seen even well aimed raiding parties fail. Regardless the pair made their preliminary jumps.

Unlike his cultural and military superior floating some meters ahead, Sa’ato was hardly an ace pilot and was, in general, quite green when it came to space piracy. While he had read a great many tales and historical accounts about famous brigands, technical manuals and readouts were not in the Neti’s academic backyard. Granted, the professor was perfectly capable of towing the line on the surface. He had the basics. Indeed, he had several hundred years worth. But flying in combat was an unknown, and the retired teacher did not deal in unknowns. So it was that he used the idle time between sensor updates to study the Pursuer-Class’s user manual slowly and carefully. Very carefully.

The Navicomputer beeped indicating her arrival. The starfighter came out of hyperspace, for now she would keep her fighter attached to the Hyperspace ring. She nudged her fighter towards the convoy. She sent a hailing signal to the convoy which was some distance away. In the signal her intentions of acting as an escort were made to the convoy. Unsure if they were expecting her or not.

Ranah was ready

**Mid Rim**
**Lantillian Sector, P-8**
**Gizer System, Intersection of Perlemian Trade Route and Vaathkree Trade Corridor**

The lightspeed jump from Lantillies to Gizer had been uneventful. As Buggie moved through the spacelanes of the Gizer system unmolested, he was reminded of the last time he had made this very same trip on his way to eventually to rescuing a Galactic Alliance asset that had found themselves stranded onboard an Imperial facility that was manufacturing cloaked starfighters. The twin haulers of Outland Transport eventually reached the navigation buoy within the Gizer system, which pinged the navigation computer aboard the Outland 02. As the ship's navigation computer uploaded the coordinates that the buoy had transmitted, Buggie selected the coordinates that reflected the route he wished to take. Outland Transport would be flying along the entirety of the Vaathkree Trade Corridor, from the Gizer system to the Corsin system, a the trade route's terminus. Loading all of the navigational data at once would allow Buggie to traverse the route more quickly, so the two transports sat idle for a few moments while the navigation computer processed the coordinates in a string of complex navigational solutions.

Once Buggie's route had been confirmed, he reviewed the result on the shipboard computer, confirmed the route, and engaged the hyperdrive. While the transports' hyperdrives shot the ships into lightspeed for the journey, Buggie decided to begin reviewing the HoloNet information that the shipboard computer had picked up. The information was specifically chatter on navigational warnings, hazards, slow-downs due to patrols, and other important matters that concerned the other spacers and freight movers that flew the spacelanes. It was a wealth of information, especially for someone who was flying with a forged manifest and illegal cargo.
