The Ranger Captain had left the bridge when the convoy jumped to light speed, he would not be needed for the tedious micro adjustments the crew would be making. He returned to his quarters and began to review some data pertaining to his upcoming operations. The time clicked by when suddenly the vessel dropped from hyperspace and seconds later the alarms blazed to life.

“Badaash!” A voice called over the intercoms. “We got hostiles on intercept course with the convoy. Multiple boarding parties are inbound!”

Varn let a curse slip from his lamprey-like mount. “Have the Mynocks suit up, we’ll engage them, provide covering fire and keep their fighters and transports pinned down.” With that the large Dashade rushed out of his quarters towards the armory.

Moments later he and his team were at the airlock, suited up and ready to deploy. “Sir we are nearing one of the freighters that the hostiles have begun to board. Deploy in three, two, one.”

The airlock burst open and from it a group of Rangers jetted out to join their allies and enemies in the fray. “Not today you nerfs.”

Ranah’s contemplation was interrupted when the comm buzzed to life, she was close to exiting hyperspace now. The message was a crackled warning of Raiders to the shipment. Ranah checked all systems and brought the interceptor out of hyperspace. She un-docked from the hyperspace ring and brought the interceptor forward. She opened fire on the enemy craft she was not aiming to hit or cripple but maybe she would discourage them at the very least.

She brought her craft towards Kallidor 01 She could tell that it was a boarding more than an ambush. A small smile curled her lips. It would give her a chance to test out her new modification to the star fighter. She opened fire on any who got in her way, she would need to get the star fighter close enough so she could board it. She began flipping switches and paused for the briefest of moments. The disturbance in the Force was strong but there was a presence she recognized one she had felt before.

The Woman from Nar Shadda secretly she hoped their paths would cross again but her priority was to the mission at hand.

R211” she called to the astromech droid that was housed in the ships slot. “You have control” The astromech droid chimed an affirmative as Ranah tested the new modification in her ship, the pilots chair lowered flat so she was on her back the compartment behind her had opened where could barely manage to maneuver herself, to get into her Armor. Once secure, she hit the button for the canopy where she exited the ship and using her armor a single rocket powered and propelled her towards the ship.

She was able to board the ship. She was ready and eager to test the armor.

And in a silent, unblinking moment the nearly serene panorama sprawled out before him erupted in a flurry of streaking mismatched bolts of light from every corner of the spectrum. The Deimos drifted back, as if reflexively preparing to sprint into the fray. Its black sheen still hid it amongst the vast empty gloom of space that lurked between the stars.

The Melinoë peeled to the side, without so much as a word, into attack position. Its absent silhouette similarly blotted the faded, distant starlight out and back into existence, the briefest of twinkles as it tore through the vacuum of space. The ultimate target was either of a pair of BFF-1s. Known for being easy targets, these particular transports would prove anything but.

Fett tilted his controls smoothly, steadily toward his toes and the ship delightedly obliged. He gained on his accompanying Firespray, his Sith Infiltrator humming internally with a somehow eternally rising song that never reached crescendo. The infrasound from within the chamber tickled the back of his mind and gave his belly a tightening. While he was hardened to violence, small physical responses such as these brought the thrill and delectable horror of battle flooding back to him. To be young and naive again…

As he and Reana jetted towards the primary target, other ships were unfortunate to be looping around in their direct path, outmaneuvering lesser pilots on their way to protect the freighters. A Helix Class Light Interceptor presented itself, and Fett gave it a “playful love tap” with his forward light lasers.

While nearly visually imperceptible against the backdrop of space, the Deimos had the distinct advantage of an honest to goodness cloaking device. The Helix interceptor had the inverse advantage, of course, in speed, armor, and firepower. Poking this particular Gorax could prove unworth the risk, yet Fett felt abnormally compelled to engage in this detour.

He looped around for a pass at the next nearest escort, his periphery remaining locked on the bigger game ahead of him, and the inevitable boarding actions he would have to take.

Perhaps the uncomfortable truth that on the darkest, most consequential day of his prior life had seen him on the other end of a raid was the true motive for playing with his food, but firing on escorts as a spectre of the cosmos served the very real purpose of corralling the targets and disallowing them to control their patterns with unchecked reins.

For the briefest of moments Salem Norongachi felt a spectral finger run up his spine. The hair on the back of his neck rose, his body, already tense, released a full dose of adrenalin that kicked his fight or flight into overdrive. His eye feverishly flicked across the scanners, his hands sweating with anticipation. Every instinct he possessed, natural and not so, declared him hunted and his doom could swallow him whole.

The ship shuddered and that was enough to dispel the hollow pit that had been forming in his gut. He checked his read outs with a touch more calm and found nothing. Yet the thought that something out there had painted a target on his back wouldn't abate and he threw his ship into an evasive pattern for good measure.

"Drop back and keep your eye out for anything weird." he spoke to his wing-droid, who promptly responded. "Like lasers appearing from no where, at a guess." because dog fighting wasn't hard enough without a potential cloaked enemy zeroing in. Orders given and no way in the thick of battle to discern whether his hunch would pay off, he spun the ship back fully to bring the boarding ship and its escorts into his sights.

His targeting computer painted the escorts and in the next breath a concussion missile streaked away toward the leftmost, while his fire-linked belly turrets sought the right and he sent a stream of ion blasts straight down the middle to the troop transport itself.

Ranah’s light interceptor broke away from Kallidor 01 as the former GA soldier made her way into the ship’s airlock. She made it inside and was ready for when borders finally came aboard. She tapped a button on the suit.

Bridge, this is Blackstar , I am aboard and ready for your instruction

She was not entirely sure if Master Kenobi was aboard or not but this was where she would make her stand. She used her callsign just in case. Even where she was she could hear the screaming of the ships and the battle raging outside in the open vacuum. She was not rattled. She was ready and while it might be un-Jedi like she was itching for a fight.

Quietly with a reserved hand, he approached Ranah and stood beside her, he had not meant to sneak up on her it was just how it happened. "Apparently we will be fending these raiders off more enthusiastically than I'd prefer. Had the escorts managed to keep them at bay we could have made it to the jump point." He was not speaking out of turn nor as a knock to the escorts, it was just how things had unfolded. Now on the eve of battle, Ranah and Kenobi stood side by side facing a darkened hallway leading towards the airlock.

Keeping his hands clasped over his belt buckle he patiently awaited their guests and he was hoping that he could convince them to run away and rethink this raid altogether...

Infiltrator cloaked in unison with Valkyr confirming their front was no longer empty. Looming ships filled with weights and whatever else could be assumed on a lovely trade route such as this befell their view, and Slade did not have the grace as his accompanying ship. The meditation sphere blatantly scored the silent pressure of space with a jarring appearance, one that had no issue breaking another nightmare into the mind of many.

The Hunter instructed his participating Warborg to release her hold of the controls and allow the pilot droid to do as it was designed- to sharpen her plasma claws and prepare to use them.

He, himself stood from the quiet and resounding chamber, and approached a holding box for his armor, Orbalisk shells riveting the outer bone of his Dragonbone armor, a much mightier improvement than what it had been before as the Priest had personally instructed it's upgrade from the 'barbarianistic appearance' it had been, before. Shrugging the fitted armor on, he swung both sabers into place beneath his corresponding wrists, and added on his attachments. He recalled how many times he and his Side had lost cargo from them being vastly underwhelmed, under prepared, uncoordinated...

His single eye glowed a starved gold under the ebony void of the helms visage depths, echoing a creature lie under this skin, not a mortal.

Slade was tired of losing.
Today was a new day, and there would be a feast, tonight.

Ranah stood with Master Kenobi, while she had not felt his approach through the Force it was to be expected. She was still learning afterall but his appearance did not catch her off guard. She in fact had hoped to be able to fight along side the venerable Jedi Master.

"Apparently we will be fending these raiders off more enthusiastically than I'd prefer. Had the escorts managed to keep them at bay we could have made it to the jump point."

She nodded she understood what he was saying but the bit about enthusiastically would have made Ranah chuckle if the situation was not so dire.

We will do what we must” She said with neither excitement or dread in her voice. While the Galactic Alliance along with the Jedi Coalition did not seek out this fight they were ready for that contingency, and while she was not as experienced or skilled in the Jedi Arts as the Jedi Master was , she would use what she could to do her part.

Ben stood quietly beside Ranah, her confidence was contagious. It was a sort of calm before the storm that held experience and a knowing will behind it. As they stood there the Light of the Force began to encircle them both. While she did not possess the training that he did, her willingness to embrace the art of the Jedi was enough to open her aura. Slowly Ben reached down to his belt and gripped the haft of his lightsaber, lifting up the weapon to examine it thoughtfully.

Touching the lightweapon was enough to bring to him a soothing feeling. It helped calm his nerves and keep him stalwart in the face of the unknown. For a moment he was not even there within the ship but elsewhere and enjoying the sunshine of the Eocho Mountains on Ossus. He could even feel the warmth of the star’s light. A deep breath took in stale recycled air but he could imagine the crisp chilled air of the mountain range. It brought a warm smile to his features.

All of this would end though as the doors of the freighter began to spark. Boarders were afoot. Closing his eyes to prepare himself for what was to come, his thumb rested upon the activation stud and his calm demeanor vanished in exchange for a very serious one.

As the doors exploded inwards, his golden blade erupted to life, showering the darkened interior with warm light. His eyes snapped open as well. He was prepared to ward these fiends away.

“We will do what we must.” He repeated in a cool whisper…

"Updates! I need updates!"

Cursing, Zasabi listened to the stream of information being relayed from the bridge. He struggled to remove his overclothes, flinging his pants somewhere beyond the pile of blasters he had left for maintenance earlier. Apparently the ships, what ships they could see in any case, were identified as Sith ships and, with typical vigor, were on near suicidal charges to board the ships.

"I just can't get rid of those fanatic freaks," the theelin muttered as he strapped the Camo-suit on. He hadn't bothered bringing his heavier Nemesis armor, a choice he was starting to regret. Maybe he should've waited until after he had gone off the network to get the armor's profile modified? In any case, what he had brought with him would have to do.

He slipped on the helmet of the Camo-Suit, feeling it settle with a familiar weight on his neck. The suit's inner workings escaped him- despite his familiarity with mimetic armor, the hunt suit was able to create a much more thorough illusion despite using no energy source that he could detect. With luck, it would let him get the jump on the would-be pirates today.

"You know, the old records say they went for thousands of years without seeing a single sith," he continued as he strapped his Adumarian Blast Sword to his hip. "I know you're probably not familiar with it, being a maintenance tech, but wouldn't you say we're due for another few thousand years?"

The pit droid jinked it's oversized head in his direction, looking up from the workbench it had remained practically glued to. It's single large photoreceptor looked at him for the barest amount of time it required to ensure he wasn't giving it an order before returning it's attention to the disassembled rifle before it.

"Good chat," Zasabi remarked idly as he clipped his old Espo riot shield to his left arm. It wasn't going to quite blend in with his armor, but as long as he had it undeployed it would hopefully be small enough to evade detection.

Striding out toward the hallway leading to the outer edges of the ship, he paused to look at a set of cubbies that, in hindsight, were probably too close to the entrance of the room. Inside was a variety of ordinance, both propelled and hand-propelled. Extending a hand, he briefly considered grabbing a thermal detonator.

"...No, you'd have to be an absolute idiot to bring a Thermal Detonator to a boarding fight. Just the most irresponsible pile of Bantha Poodoo. I mean, how would you even use it without venting yourself and half the ship into the void?"

Shaking his head at the brief moment of insanity stress had brought him, he instead grabbed hold of a spark grenade. This would be significantly less likely to kill everyone including himself. Setting off at a light jog, he headed toward the nearest point of entry.

"Ok, lets just see the Sith out and get on out of here, shall we?"
