The temperature controlled environment of the Deimos’ cockpit was a far cry from what surrounded it for parsecs in most directions. Fett never lost track of that fact. Taking actions that would have risked exposure to the sublime vacuum just outside his hull should have qualified as a supreme madness. And yet every maneuver, every stale, processed breath he stole took him closer to the possibility of that unsettlingly serene oblivion.

His gloved palm glided across the nearly immaculate casing of his armor, hardly any friction building between them. The DZ17x was more opulent than most items in Fett’s collection. He had simple, if often unnerving, tastes.

Fett disregarded the blaring alarms sprawling across his viewscreen, warning him of imminent impact. He eased on his controls with one arm, the other securing the snug placement of his CZ-28 flamethrower. Properly integrating it into the Nemesis plating was key, not leaving exposed lines or wires to be spotted by desperate opportunism.

The Deimos, still cloaked, had settled into place. It found itself hovering at a matching pace that felt as if a complete standstill, just over the port.

The port in question was of one of the BFF-1s, a ship designated Kalidor, if the information the Dark Lord had gleaned was to be believed.

He felt the Force tugging at him, drawing him toward this particular ship over its twin.

Fett obliged.

“It’s showtime,” he rose, clipping his lightsabers to his side like second nature, not a single wasted gesture.

He descended. Physically? Back into madness?
Who was to say?

"Hey Rainbows, there's some guy in a flight suit somewhere in Hangar Six and he's prowlin' aroun' like that creepy clown from that holo!" Ashara screamed into the comm-unit of the Tusk as she saw the disguised Neti dock through the holocam display in the cockpit. "If I, Captain Ashara Rys of the Blue Star Pirates, die after getting looted while shipping freight for the frakkin' Republic or Alliance or whatchamacallit, I swear my ghost will haunt your lousy Jedi ass until I possess you and make you lose your virginity to a Hutt!"

Still in his B-wing, the Jedi was currently engaged with keeping the Sith acolyte's pilot droid-controlled Pursuer off his Action V's port side. "Tsk," the Firrerreo scoffed under his breath. "Why's she shouting at me? This was her idea..."

"I HEARD THAT!"

Flinching at the volume of the Togruta's voice, Annan merely sighed, pressing down on a comm-unit button and hailing the convoy frequency. "Akcinor Five to convoy escorts. Pursuer on the port of the Targon's Tusk, need back-up. I'm going to have to make another happy landing..." he then switched to Ashara's comm frequency.

"Captain, designate the hangar where Flightsuit landed on my heads-up display and clear me to land. Send one our REX units there too, I'm gonna need to make a switch," the dichromatic-haired Jedi instructed.

Locking his S-foils onto the Pursuer upon getting a clean shot, Annan rammed the enemy starfighter with a barrage of laser cannon fire that would at least force enemy craft back for a distance, before he closed the B-wing's dorsal and ventral S-Foil Wings, shooting at cruising speed straight towards and into the hangar where the Neti had boarded the Targon's Tusk. The landing was a rather rough one as the Jedi knew he had no time to waste finding a clear spot, but nonetheless his precious B-wing survived... though he suspected his landing stabilizers would need a new paint-job.

With no time to lose, Annan spotted the REX unit Ashara had sent and opened the cockpit, exchanging places with the pilot droid. The droid, quickly uplinking with Akcinor Five, would then immediately fly the B-wing around back out of the hangar to reengage the Mudhorn, the battle of pilot droids echoing what was about to go down between their masters.

Growling territorially, the Firrerreo stood up straight. Reaching out through the immeasurably deep ocean that was the Ethereal Light, Annan flipped his WESTARs around before bolting in the direction the disguised Neti had escaped to. The Dark Side was strong with this one, he could sense it.

"Captain," the Jedi commed Ashara while pacing. "Where's Flightsuit?"

"The corridor, level six, up an observation walkway," she responded.

"Seal the blast doors."

"Way ahead a'ya, Rainbows!"

The Neti would find there to be no exiting the corridor, for the distal blast doors were sealed by a Slicer Droid under Ashara's command, which was now floating around the control panel, guarding it with the intention of preventing the disguised professor from hotwiring his way through. The proximal blast doors were also sealed the moment Annan walked through them. Staring up at his enemy above him on the observation walkway, Annan the Light Side empower him and imbue him with the strength with which it bound the universe together.

"The Force is strong with you, Flightsuit," Annan bared his fangs, producing a short, sharp growl to assert dominance before aiming one of his blasters at the Sith acolyte. "How profoundly disappointing that a sentient as in-tune in the Force such as yourself would choose to let the Dark Side consume them."

Sa’ato would have pulled the trigger on his swaggering opponent right then and there had the sudden surge of the Force not caused him to hesitate. A Jedi? With blasters? Unlikely, but not impossible. At the very least, someone of equal or greater psionic skill now threatened the Neti’s plans. If he was to prevail, careful planning was in order. Thankfully, on the one hand, the extent of the defender’s ‘trap’ did not much bother the academic. If push came to literal shove, with a little time and enhanced growth, Sa’ato could break the doors down and make his getaway. That said, he could hardly hope to flee while his opponent drew breath, or at least remained conscious.

Summoning a personal reservoir of the Force to his side of the walkway, the professor inclined his head to one side, as if to give the impression he would offer a response to the humanoid’s banter. In quite the opposite move, the wandering teacher instead snapped the barrel of his rifle up toward the ceiling, and discharged a round directly into the sole centralized light source. Let the Living Force flow down through him like a conduit, the professor ducked swiftly into a role, and came back up onto one foot two feet back from where he started, slightly off to the right. Riding that same burst of stamina, he then flicked the power dial of his concussion rifle to its maximum potency, and waited.

With his thoughts slowed to the point of stagnation, time itself ground to a halt as the professor prepared to treat the next few seconds as a full millenia. The sudden breach of darkness would either cause the gunslinger to pause, or not. If he fired, Sa’ato clung to the hope that his small maneuver had sabotaged his opponent’s aim. And if his foe was temporarily waylaid, the Neti need only shoot in their approximate vicinity to stagger them further, or with a small dose of luck, offer a serious kinetic wound. But in that present moment of eternity, Sa’ato had no alternative but to center himself in the Force and listen for its call. Listen, and one way or another, react.

There was no response. Silvanius stared at her com and sighed, disappointed her master had not gotten ahold of her. "When I get my hands on him, I swear ill..." she muttered to herself. "I better make this out alive. Or I'm gonna haunt my master for the rest of his Dark Lord life."

♡♡♡On the ship♡♡♡

Boarding the freighter and making a rather noisy entrance as the door was bombed down, Silvanius had already began guiding her way through the vessel to Ranah and Ben Kenobi's location. She didn't have much hope in winning by herself, but she really had no choice as they were a priority to take out in order to get the cargo.

With a cool demeanor, she stared Ranah down, igniting her silver blade in the process. "We meet again i see." A small smirk formed on her lips as she enjoyed knowing she had another chance to bring the padawan down. Her steel blue gaze looked away briefly, back at Ben Kenobi. A hint of sadness flashed through her eyes before quickly disappearing to a cold intense glare. "That cargo is ours." She gripped her hilt tightly, spinning her lightstaff before staying in a classic defense pose ready for any attack given to her or for her to jump in first on the jedi.

The airlock popped and fizzed. It eventually settled. No head, no weapon presented itself.

The dark recesses of the hatch and the hallway it led into were bloated with anticipation.

Anticipation.

Anticip--

Nothing. No head, no weapon, nothing emerged from the port.

Perhaps…?

CLANG

shund

Something was taking its time to make an entrance.

shund

shund

CLANG

The menacing mug of a Sith Warbot emerged and slammed into the darkened halls, seemingly being sure to make every exaggerated noise it could summon along the way.

Fett emerged from a shadow further down the hall, having melted in and out of them, bobbing and weaving along the way.

He’d chosen the Kalidor opposite of Kita, as to evenly distribute their burden. He had little doubt she could make do on her own. It wasn’t as if these transports typically came crawling with Jedi masters and their apprentices.

Now to get to raiding.

The warbot was emitting sounds of clanking and sputtering that were frankly fabricated. Its vocal modulator was replicating, amplifying, and projecting recorded junkyard racket to accompany its heavy footed dance of distraction.

The exterior airlock door silently slid open and the suit of armor dropped to the interior floor. Varn took a moment to readjust to artificial gravity before pushing into the connection hallway. Stepping in he was greeted by the alarms blaring which confirmed there were intruders aboard. His attention turned towards a security droid that was approaching him, and for a brief moment it held its weapon at the ready as it scanned the Ranger.

“Identity confirmed, welcome aboard Ranger,” the robotic voice greeted.

“Take me towards the invaders, I’m here to assist,” the Dashade promptly replied.

The droid gave a nod before turning and heading deeper into the vessel. Varn immediately gave chase, his power diverting to weapon systems. To any on lookers it looked like he was a massive battle droid charging towards battle.
