Raphael stood there dazed and confused at what his father had just said. What kind of snake would be able to inhale him? The ones he has come across have been rather small and relatively harmless. Surely this would be nothing like their encounter with the mother dragon on Arkania.

The young man quickly grabbed a seat as the Infiltrator launched into hyperspace, jolting the men slightly to the side. Raphael’s arms crossed and his brow furrowed as he listened intently to what he had to say. A persistent dream haunted Lord Blood, one of serpents. He too had been having strange dreams but he never considered them to be anything other than that of a random thought before falling into a deep sleep. A sense of comfort usually came over him in these dreams, as a long serpent clouded by smoke would inch toward him ever closer every night.

Believing this would add nothing to the subject, as they were already en route, he let that remain within his thoughts. He instead continued to listen as his father laid out a decision before him, mainly between serpents and felines. Which should the young student take in to train as a pet?

“Serpents will do. They call to me as the dragons call to you… I would grateful if you aided in getting myself acquainted with the creatures.”

Soon the ship broke hyperspace and jolted forward revealing the moon. Raphael strode towards the cockpit to get a better view of it. He hunched down to get a good glimpse and placed a thankful hand on the shoulder of the cyborg piloting the ship.

Looking down on the planet in the distance he realized something magnificent. This was the start of his journey, where he would finally become a man learning the ways of the Sith. This is where he would break free and create and identity not meshed together with that of his sister.

“Look there cyborg….” Raphael pointed the planet ahead. “This is where my story begins, the legend of Raphael.”

Valkyr, incapable of independent thought as she had been robbed from such, simply acknowledged the spawn of Slade, replying, "Indeed, Master Raphael." That was the most of what she usually gave anyone her Maker had become accustomed with, and much less was given to those who Blood was not.

The cathar cyborg piloted the ship onto Yavin 8. The Infiltrator landed, and because of the mass of predators here, Blood had her put the stealth vessel into it's invisible mask, reflectant mirrors directing light away from it as it became one with the afternoon light. Now the hiss of pressure told of it's finish in airtime as it released the build up, ramp disengaging and lowering, allowing for disembarkment.

"Sulsyeyi sis, ir Nu valia manyta j'us." was the slight joke he sent to his Son as he began walking down the ramp.

The temperate planet was rather flushed today, winds coming a bit more strongly than he would have initially hoped for. That only meant the snake would locate them sooner than he anticipated, and he rather it not near his ship.

"We must move. We're upwind, and they hold no discretion over what they choose as meals as long as it bleeds, nor where they flail their bodies."

With that being said, the Dragon Master began a jog a bit north of their location, hoping to stretch distance from their landing location. Approximately 40 meters out, and still counting, his jog not slowing as he added more meters just to be certain.

It was then the ground began to shake.

"He's here," he grinned to the Acolyte.

“Nie kezjumas…” a slight smirk coming off of Raphael’s face as he turned to head down the ramp.

As they stepped out onto the grass of the terrestrial planet, a quick breeze was sent their way. Tied up in a knot was Raphael’s hair, yet it struggled to stay put under the power of this wind. A chill came over the young man as he examined the environment. A fascinating planet as the area had no trees, just a vast expanse of solid ground covered by mountains.

Beginning a fast paced jog behind his father, Raphael continued to examine the environment. He anticipated a meaning with these creatures called Reels, as they were moving at a much faster pace than expected. Gathering more and more distance away from the Infiltrator, Raphael started becoming concerned with how far out they needed to be for this creature to not harm the ship.

Abruptly stopping, still in eyesight of the ship, the ground began to shake. They had reached the bottom of a couple of hills ahead. The hills were tall enough; the two wouldn’t be able to see over them. Behind them, across the tundra, rested their ship.

"He's here."

Raphael looked over to catch a grin coming from his father he seemed excited and ready. Heart beating faster and faster, Raphael too started to feel the excitement of this impending life or death situation. Lord Blood had a sense of madness to him, similar to that of Raphael’s sister. He found it hard some times to trust whether the madness of their excitement was leading the young man into a situation they could survive or one they could not. Raphael hoped this was one of they situations that they could easily survive.

The thumping of the ground grew heavier and heaver as the acolyte looked toward the hills. The silver tone in his eye began to widen as his hands clenched the hilt of his vibroswords. Gliding over the hills came the serpent; almost as massive as the dragons they had recently met. Raphael stood his ground as the Reel came to welcome them to its home. Enormous black scales covered the serpent as its head moved toward the sky.

The head of the snake looked down upon the two as the top half of its body made an “S” shape in the air. A piercing glare came as the young acolyte caught a look at one of its eyes. The ground began to move again as its body clenched, ready to attack. Its mouth opened wide, revealing the sharp teeth it had within. Its tongue snapped in and out making a loud hissing sound that echoed over the hills.

As fast as it had arrived, it attacked, launching its body towards the young acolyte. The top half of the beast slammed down on the ground right on top of him creating a thunderous roar. Just in time, Raphael dove to the right out of the way of its preliminary attack. The beast recoiled for another attack looking down at the two yet again.

“How do we kill this thing?” Raphael yelled over to his father as the beast looked ready to pounce.

It came hard and fast, a murderer with plans etched in powerful body muscles and a gaping maw of needle sharp teeth. Venom mixed with saliva dripped from those massive fangs, the front two easily taller than himself. Considering they didn't have the man power of an Avril, there had to be more conventional methods to be used. Dangerous ones.

"This is all on you, Raphael. Know that its mesinis is impervious to your swords. The weak spots are its akute, and-"

The talking attracted the attention of the reel, and immediately after its hiss, it flailed a heap of its massive tail around him, hoping to catch him in its clawless clutches. A precise Force Leap saved him from instantaneous crushing, as he relocated himself to temporary safety.

"its burna. More inside than out of it."

He wasn't joking when he said that Raphael would more than likely be inhaled by one of these things. But he had to get inhaled first, and not crushed first, and inhaled later.

Almost as if on cue, a loud and ominous screech sounded from the skies as an Avril took to the heavens, no doubt alerted to the sounds of a surfaced Reel.
Time was of the essence.

Raphael watched as his father backed away from this intense bout. He was unsure if he was ready to take on this massive beast on his own, but he had to give it a shot. It was puzzling, the way to kill this beast. How was the young acolyte to kill the thing if its weak points were so small? Surely this was the madness of his father, he was trying to find a new way to kill his son somehow.

Slapping the hard ground of the tundra, the Reel came in for another attack that was dodged by the young man. Barely escaping, Raphael unsheathed one of his vibroswords and took a swing at the black scales. The Reel didn’t even groan as it winded back up for another attack. Looking down at the side of the blade, a chip off of the metal could be detected. This wasn’t the way to do it; he had to find get to his eyes and fast.

As soon as the thoughts of urgency rolled through his head a loud screech could be heard in the distance. Both the Reel and Raphael made a striking glance at the sky to see a giant bird flying in circles. Round and round the bird flew, waiting for its chance to drop from the clouds and snatch its prey.

With a sense of urgency and a realization he had to move fast, Raphael moved farther away to prepare himself for an attack. Calculating the distance he needed to be in order to attack he stepped back and prepared for the launch of its body once again. Like clockwork the Reel came slamming down on the ground but this time, Raphael took advantage.

Quickly he moved to the head of the beast and mounted it, using one hand to grab underneath a scale that was protruding. Holding on for his life, the serpent pushed itself back up again and tried to shake the young man off. Raphael moved intently toward the eye, grabbing scale after scale to inch himself closer.

Raphael rested quietly atop of the Reel’s head as it began to calm in its confusion. He only had a moment of peace he figured, so he attempted his attack. Quietly he unsheathed a vibrosword with one hand and fixed his grip on the scale with the other. With one clean motion, Raphael sent a stab with the vibrosword towards the Reel’s eye, sending fluids flying out covering the young man. Both grips held on as long as possible before the serpent slammed to the ground, sending Raphael tumbling away.

Screeches from the bird above grew louder and louder as his prey became weakened. The acolyte recovered, wiping the slimy fluid off of him. Gazing up again, the Reel was already in attack position ready to pounce. Raphael noticed his other vibrosword still perforated in its pupil. The blow seemed to hurt the beast but he was surprised it didn’t cower away. Again, it came for another attack, this time to inhale the silver-eyed man.

Swiftly making a plan, Raphael accepted what was about to happen as the serpent came down on him. The Reel hunched back again looking at the bird in the sky, Raphael was nowhere to be seen.

Inside the mouth of the being, he clung to life on one of the serpent’s fangs until its head was level enough to stand. Dark and damp inside the snake’s mouth, Raphael found the air too thick to breath easy; he had to get out and fast. Standing firm in the center of its mouth, he used the other vibrosword to piece the ceiling. Blood showered Raphael, covering him head to toe. He moved the blade to create a bigger gash. Suffering slowly, the Reel’s head slapped the ground as it was losing its will to keep going. Enraged at the situation he was in, Raphael took the opportunity to cut up everything he could inside the being till it stopped breathing.

After a few moments the mild struggle of the beast grew weaker and weaker until there was no struggle left. The acolyte sheathed his last vibrosword and moved towards the small opening in its mouth. He held the mouth open with both hands so he could crawl out, revealing the now red combat armor he was wearing had been drenched in blood. The sticky substance clung to his face and hair as he collapsed to the ground in disgust.

Realizing the massive prey was dead and wasn’t going anywhere; the bird quickly set its sights on the moving targets as more prey. Soaring down from the sky, it made a dart towards young Raphael hoping to scoop him up in the process of his weakened state.

Blood watched as the gigantuous bird dove from the sky, it's deadly intent bold in ravenous, beady eyes. With aerodynamic prowess that inspired all the aerial and space crafts, the Avril dove directly for his Son.
He had to act fact.

From his place, Blood leapt high in the air, the Force fueling his springing lower limbs with the power of a fresh engine. Attracting the bird's attention was his goal, and as he landed on the top of a low cliff, he activated his sabers, the mechanism under the flat of his forearms releasing the weapons into his grip with the quick flick of his wrist. The burgundy blades blazed beautifully, their colors a flag for the Avril to change direction and launch a starving attack on him, instead. It loomed near, and with his taunts, it swooped overhead. Titanic claws snapped centimeters over his head as he dove low for cover. These claws were meant for giant prey, and with him being smaller than a reel, he had more maneuverability as he danced with the frightful creature.

As it made another pass at him, his brain quickly analyzed the amount of time he had until the bird made contact with him. That very time seemed to slow, and with the well placed time he had, he reached a grasping wave out from his mind as he began the process of taming this beast. The mental net stretched, his influence sticking and holding onto the semi sentient avian, and akin to leeches, it began to draw the will out of the bird with calming whispers and sensations of relaxation. From that step onwards, confusion hit the bird, and it's attack slowed. It began to eye Blood with an unsure gaze, hunger trying to force it forward but unease holding the bird back.

The Dragon Tamer then wormed his own essence into the bird, piece by piece stripping away the toils that made this bird so savage in his voracious mannerisms. Reassurance to end the unease, satisfaction to sate the hunger, and with no reason left to attack, the Avril made truce with the Sith Lord. With his hand out, he took slow steps forward to this huge creature, until he was confident it wouldn't attempt to maul him. The threads between he and the animal were reinforced by words, paired with the perfect union of emotions that would make the bird trust him.
And soon enough, it did.

Blood mentally implanted the illusion of food, which riled the avian back up, but soon he snatched it away, holding the illusion at bay until he could climb atop the Avril. Food, for a ride. The Avril weighed it's options, and submitted, lowering itself to the ground in allowance for him to ride. So not to startle the bird, he climbed instead of leapt, pulling himself between the shoulderblades of the bird till he was properly situated. Within the connection they shared, he led them through it to where the reel lay, and once the path was given permission, the Avril swooped to where both Raphael and the reel waited.

Calling down from the top of the bird, Blood informed the pupil.

"He's gonna eat away the meat, and leave you the bone. The skin is also yours."

Studying his father on top of the gigantic bird, the young man quickly came to the conclusion that no beast was a match for the Sith Lord. Having seen a near successful attempt on a dragon and now a successful one with this being, Raphael was more impressed by the day. It was apparent that if the acolyte had to deal with any beasts in the near future, it was in his best interest to make sure his father was around. Yet as he sit comfortably atop the beast he couldn’t help but wonder if he could of done the same with the Reel and spared him the trouble.

As the gigantic bird began to pick away at the serpents carcass, Raphael collapsed back onto the ground in exhaustion. Lying back, he looked at his armor in disgust. Raphael then unclipped the blood drenched light combat armor to relieve himself of the repulsive stench that came along with it. Forcing himself up off of the ground to remove the rest of his armor he began to feel a viscous substance all over his long black hair.

In a fit of rage the acolyte swiftly went of to the pierced eye of the reel to retrieve his other blade. Placing both hands firmly on the hilt of the blade he began to tug but the sword didn’t budge. Rage began to take over as he placed a boot on the face of the Reel to give himself leverage and a push off. With a massive tug the sword came free rather easily sending young Raphael falling onto his back. Enraged by the events that have constantly been occurring on this planet the young man leapt forward with a few swings at the carcass.

With the few strikes that were sent forward, they were bounced right back at him off of the Reel’s scales. Raphael took many deep consistent breaths to calm himself back down as he looked over the area he had just struck, not even a scratch. As a whole, the scales of the serpent were magnificent. Raphael was mesmerized by the exquisite beauty that this serpent had before its swift death. As he studied the individual scales, the man found a scale that seemed to be protruding a little more than the others.

Taking the blade to the protruding scale, the man struggled a bit before removing it completely off of the serpent’s lifeless body. The blade smacked the ground as Raphael held the scale out in front of him with both hands. Looking back up for his father, he watched the bird pick at the Reel.

“Beautiful creatures, serpents are… unfortunate its dhasi will never be seen again.”

From atop the bird, Blood observed his Son throw a slight pouted show. He chuckled in an amusement. He wasn't going to tell the Youth to control himself- emotions were what fueled their power. If he put his vexation behind a blow to the fallen serpent's scales, a dent could have formed. Anything was possible in the Force. He simply had to learn a proper way to channel it and focus it to either a point or a wave for desired effects. And if passionate enough, he could have made a clean slice through meat and bone, but that would have take much, much practice.
He would have to kill snakes on a continuous basis. Genocide of such a lovely creature was not something Blood took to so kindly, so he would have to instruct his Son in similar methods another time. As for now,

"Take as much of the skin you wish to illustrate in your new armor. Primarily enough for a cape, for loin coverings, perhaps enough for arms and such. However you wish to accent it, take enough. You will have to channel a bit of flare into your strokes to rid bone from bone, however."

The Silver One spoke then, rending the scale from muscle and fat. “Beautiful creatures, serpents are… unfortunate its dhasi will never be seen again.”

"Oh, but it will be, Raphael," he began.

"In this armor, you take on the legacy of it's prowess. Within this armor, your will feel the connection of this Reel, and it will be one with you. My strikes within draconic armor are imbued with the power, ferocity, and swift speed of the young dragon I ended, for it. Your own strikes, once I dig Juyo, or Vaapad, maybe with a base Djem So or Shien into you, you will become the Reel. And there will be no Avril there to take you down."

Blood swiveled in the seat he had placed himself in and slid from the top of the feasting Avril to walk unbiased on the blood-sludge mess of clearing his Son stood in. "You will become an apex predator. And As your armor becomes forged, I will teach you how to evade and strike like not only a serpent, but as a Nightmare."

Raising a hand and whisking it across the view before them, Blood brought up the fibers of reality behind curtains of his personal Illusion. Before he and Raphael, he wove a stream of story, an illusion of Raphael in a legendary set of Serpent's Armor, the elegant shimmer of dangerous coal colored scales against a ghastly slate plating of tarred bones from the spine and lungs of the Reel. Gloriously, the armor fit and hugged Raphael, flexible and stretching to a perfect elongation, snug enough to keep the Prince of Snakes encompassed in a riveting display. He and the scale and bone armor wore each other, unified in their vicious and unrelenting display. On a field of worthless enemies, Raphael was the front of a legion of warriors, but the spotlight shone on him in all of his maneuvers. With the exhibition of Shien, the dual sabered Son of his reflected the fire of blasters aimed at him from across the field, accuracy uncontested by gods, themselves. Once half of the adversaries were decimated by their own fire, Raphael held a passionately sadistic gleam in his usually readless gaze. Immediately and unexpectedly, he rose from the grounds and rushed forward with blinding speed, mercilessly ravaging through the enemy's numbers with completely unexpected strikes, bearing down on some with both sabers like the fangs of Hell, itself. Swirling through the field like a professional murderer, he illustrated his endless disease, quick death, delivered professionally, passionately, and ceaselessly until every single face lay lifeless and bodies lay strewn at his own scaled and fanged boots.

The illusion finished with Raphael disappearing in a haze of silvery smoke, tinged with charcoal accents, as it vanished into a nonexistent breeze that fluttered past none.
And Blood's point had been made. The beauty of the Reel never died, as long as Raphael upheld and built-upon his teachings he would receive from Blood. Everything was possible in the Force, and Blood had no problem getting Raphael there. He himself had been studying Vaapad, and unknowingly he had been tapping into it with his furthered use of Jaar Kai. It was so easy to slip into the battle's comforting arms, and to tango with the flames of desire from both evasion and engorgement of the warzone. Blood knew it well- and this he would pass off into his offspring.

As the illusion of what the grand future might hold ran through his head, Raphael felt at ease. His conscious floated above the illustrated image of the older Raphael, completely in third person. Looking over the man standing on the battleground, he couldn’t help but notice how glorious he was in the set of armor made from the serpent. It looked magnificent and strong but at the same time he was able to move within it, not constricted whatsoever. The older Raphael led a legion of warriors, heading straight into battle. He felt proud of who he might become one day in the future.

Watching as the vision of him passionately cut down any forces that were to oppose him, a smirk rolled off of his face. The way he killed was glorious and the armor carried on the beauty of this Reel for years to come. The forms of style the older Raphael fought with was astounding, such advanced styles he didn’t recognize. Leaving a field of bodies behind in a matter of minutes, Raphael was hooked. He needed this future to be a reality; he wanted so badly to be this man on the battlefield.

Once the illusion faded, reality set back in for the young man. He understood the lesson that his father was trying to communicate. As long as he lives, the beauty of the Reel will never die. The acolyte could carry on the legacy of the beast as its bones and scales protected him from any enemies of the future.

“Sleep now, I will carry your legacy with me…”
he whispered to the dead Reel.

More determined now than ever before, Raphael quickly began to detach more scales from the Reel’s body. He recalled what his master suggested, enough for lion coverings and arms it seemed. A cape was not on his top priority; usually he found them over the top. Once he had enough settled he make his way over to the giant bird picking at the beast.

Gliding over to the spot where Raphael had removed the scales, the bird quickly began to pick at the spot where the meat was exposed. Taking the opportunity to examine the exposed bone where the bird came from, Raphael began to hack away at it. Unsure of how to go about this, his strikes were a bit mindful not to shatter the bone completely.

Returning to the matter at hand, Blood watched as his Son attempted to rend bone from bone, but the vibros did nothing but shatter and splint the several chipping walls of it. His eyes narrowed, heat burning in him from just witnessing the attempt fail, to watch the bone shatter and be wasted. It wasn't intended for his irritation to reach his concentration, but instead of it wracking against him. he turned the mass of congealing vex into something more of a lesson.

"You are not hand in hand with your Force, Raphael. And that is sickening."

From his hands, a nearly inaudible click before both of his sabers were unhinged from his wrist holders. With a practical ease, he swiveled both sabers around and the glint of fanged pommels winked dangerously at the prodigy.

"This is the start of another chapter in your book of pupilhood, Raphael. Durstuni. Control is what will see you not only through the slew of enemies, but what will keep your body from shattering, splintering, much like that bone you stress. Durstuni will be your heart's heart, and your muscle's muscle. And it will breath life, strength, and power into your essence."

With the Force lashing out from his own hand, Blood used the grip of telekinesis to wrap against the bloody spine of the dead serpent. And bringing it near him, he readied his hand. Steeling his own self in the Force, he visualized and manifested a manipulation of the Force to travel to his biceps, to coarse vivaciously into his grip. And within that single arm, that fueled limb, there was power. It was so concentrated that he could feel it just as he did in his legs when he Force Jumped into the seat of his mount, Wrath. But to him, it was a familiar feeling. To Raphael, it would be something else, entirely.
With a single stroke of his wrist, the fanged saber pommels slashed through the spine of the massive snake, and it fell, bisected, cut cleanly, onto the gorey forest floor.

"The power of Control is what feeds your own power. It gives you such acuity that you feel much more connected, not only with the Force, but within your own skin. And that very power will be what signifies your strikes to be identical in heavy hit and precision to that of your Noreti Anmuxuna."

Retacting the sabers to their hidden sheathes, Blood finished his lesson with its own begining.

"Reach within yourself, and feel that Control. PAir with it, and use it, feed off of it, and let it fuel you. Be unified with the essence of physical power, and control it with your own self discipline. You will then see that you no longer hack at your Reel's bone, but slice through it as a knife would butter."
