**Colossus Sprint Racetrack (Orbital Venue), Race Three**

About one day ago, a series of four transport craft departed from the Colossus refueling station and made their way into orbit. Each of the transports had a large square belly, and within those cargo holds resided each team's racecraft, racers, and pit crew. There was one simple reason for each of the race teams leaving Castilon; this race would take place in the nearby asteroid field, which was especially active with asteroid movement. Asteroids collided, shattered, and ground against one another within the asteroid field, and it would make for a particularly virulent racing course.

GSPN, in their ever-present state on the refueling station, had opted to support the station's crowds and remain on-world. Their usual perch atop the station's control tower was again manned by a panel of hosts, experts, insiders, and ex-racers. The HoloNet feet of the broadcast showed massive display panels in the background, as the race fans were encouraged to view the race from the big screens, rather than up in orbit, as any additional ships nearby the asteroid field would potentially present additional danger. As the GSPN panel began to break down the current team standings, many of the hosts were surprised to find that the competition was not out of reach for any of the teams, even if they had seemed to be at a disadvantage coming out of the first race. With the fourth race having been announced by the competition committee as being held on the Castilon Spaceway, which was a ten-lap race, many experts predicted that finishing that race would be key for the teams at the head of the standings or for those looking to jump up in the standings. If a team could not finish the fourth race, it was almost certain that the time penalty would take them out of the running altogether.

As the program continued, eventually the four transport craft released two racecraft each from their holds. The racecraft fired up their sublight engines and began to maneuver into place in front of the starting beacon. Within a few hundred meters of the starting beacon, an asteroid collided with another, shattering and spraying microasteroid rubble in all directions. This would certainly be a dangerous race!

And they're off! The racers need to watch out for that asteroid that just collided a short distance away from the starting beacon. Immediately, Ranah Jansen has waved their racecraft through the debris. I'm not sure how they've avoided a collision, but they're past the worst of it and they're on a tear through the first checkpoint. What's this? The pack has moved ahead and it seems that somewhere in the jockeying, Darth Tormentous has collided with an asteroid fragment! His racecraft is drifting powerless out of the asteroid field, and there are emergency crews already hovering around his racer. Can we find what happened on replay? ...Oh my! It seems that as the pack was leaving the starting gate, intentionally or unintentionally, Darth Tormentous's racecraft seems to have rubbed against Ben Kenobi's. That contact drove Darth Tormentous out of control and directly into the spray of microastroid debris. Wow, the competition committee will have to take a close look at that contact to determine if it was intentional, but for now, we race on.

It seems that Ranah Jansen has taken note of their teammate's crash and has wisely chosen to slow their pace heading into the second checkpoint. Two collisions would be deadly to Team Risen, who are really making a concerted effort to get into the top spot in the standings. They can't be happy with the early results, but perhaps Ranah can pull something off as this race progresses. It's looking like the pack has stretched itself out a bit, but all racers are more or less within a minute of one other. Every one of these racers has to be getting a feeling for the speed of the course, and they've got to be cautious of collisions within the asteroid field. Among the slowest of the pack is the co-winner of the second race, Darth Fett. I wouldn't be surprised if he was biding his time for a move later on in the race, but if it's going to happen, he needs to make it happen soon...

Wow, look at this crowd reaction! Team Captain Varn Badaash has launched himself from fifth place to a neck-and-neck tie with Team Bolner's captain! What masterful bit of flying by the crowd favorite, who only two races ago, held the track record for the Colossus Sprint. It's possible, though it would take some luck, for Badaash to tie the track record and get his name back on the record books. Only a few minutes behind Varn and Bolner are Kenobi, Mors, and Jansen. Ranah Jansen led this race early, and seems to be keeping pace, perhaps looking to make a late move. It seems that, as expected, Darth Fett has kept pace with the pack, and is staying within striking range of the leaders. There's not much race to go; let's see how this plays out...

Sa'ato Mors has come out of nowhere to take the lead! Mors has bided his time this entire race, and now, with one lap to go, he seems to have taken a small lead over Ben Kenobi. Kenobi himself has just edged out crowd favorite Varn Badaash and Adar Bolner. Still, between the top four racers, this could be anyone's race to win. After a convincing bit of flying, Darth Fett has dropped back in order to avoid an asteroid in his path and he now looks to be on pace to set the penalty time for Darth Tormentous. This is a rough bit of luck after such a great run in the second race. The racers are coming through the fourth checkpoint now and are heading toward the finish line... who will emerge victorious?

Sa'ato Mors is having a great tour, and he's put together some competitive times already in the first two courses. He's currently leading the pack heading into the finish, and the only two competitors behind him are teammates Ben Kenobi and Adar Bolner. It seems that Varn Badaash has lost the momentum he once had in this race, and he's fallen into the middle of the pack. Ranah Jansen has settled for a finish, and considering that their teammate crashed right out of the gate, that's got to be an acceptable result for Team Risen. As the racers are making a push toward the finish line, it is indeed Sa'ato Mors finishing first, with the Bolner teammates finishing second and third. Excellent turnout by Team Bolner; they both should be happy with the result of this race. Team Risen has to be crushed by this finish, as they're the only team to not have both racers finish. Let's see what this does to the standings...
