He watched her quietly for a moment until she was satisfied and from there he turned away and crossed the threshold back out into the corridor. “You are free, Kita. This Citadel belongs to me and therefore it is yours also. I would not go outside these walls until your strength is found. It is not a kind place though in time you may rule over it.” He paused a moment and turned back to glance once more at her, he nodded to her in affirmation of his approval and then he departed in a flourish of his cape. She was now free to either sleep the night away or travel these cold halls and explore. Regardless of the decision made, when the morning came it would be a new dawn indeed.

Tormentous returned to the throne room for several hours where he undertook matters of state. He’d commanded several audiences of various planetary governors throughout the Reach and while the matters were of importance they were trivial in the grand scale. With matters attended to, he would retire to his chambers where he could continue to study for some time until finally heading to his own personal chambers though he did not sleep this night, his meditations took him well through the night and into the morning.

It came to pass that the morning arrived though before the dawn broke Tormentous was already in the throne room awaiting Kita. He had much to do with the girl from Tibrin. For now he desired to see to her martial ability. Sure she’d survived Vorpa’ya but she didn’t truly know how to fight proper. He needed to learn her mannerisms, abilities and even which weapon she’d be most capable with.

Patiently he waited for Kita. But that patience was not infinite.

“You are free, Kita. This Citadel belongs to me and therefore it is yours also. I would not go outside these walls until your strength is found. It is not a kind place though in time you may rule over it.” She unintnetionally watched in awe as he nodded and disappeared though the door for his throne. "Rule over it?" Once gone, Kita didn't bother looking for a change of clothes, she took off her grey boots tossing them alongside the bed and pulled back the sheets swiftly before hopping in. Laying down she pulled the blankets over her head, body molding comfortably on the mattress as she closed her eyes. Not moments before had she drifted off to sleep.

Kita woke not long before the sun began to rise, her own adrenaline waking her long before she possibly could have been expected to wake. But no. Kita forced herself out of bed while rubbing her eyes and began putting her boots back on before walking over and quickly grabbing her weapons. She didn't expect herself to need them...But she felt more comfortable having them then not having them at all.

After equipping herself, she left her room down into the hall. Stopping where the corridors separated in different directions...she tried remembering her way back to the throne room figuring that is where Tormentous would be. Opening the door, she walked into the well lite room and approached just below the steps of his throne. She couldn't help but smile slightly as she waved at him. "Good morning Lord Tormentous." It was still hard a bit not referring to him as Jacobi.

Looking from his throne to the blonde that strolled into the room proper he listened and heard her as she delivered a wave and a smile. The Dark One was taken aback - it was not normal for him to be greeted with anything but nigh on worshipful reverence. It wasn’t that he demanded his servants to fall to their knees before him but it was done regularly. To have one deny this action and instead of kneeling she had the gall to wave casually.

But.

Kita Ikari was not a servant nor a slave - was she? Darth Tormentous had never given anyone the time of day and he’d sure as hel not given an apprentice leave to wave at him. She clearly wasn’t taking this seriously. His eye traveled over the malnourished girl and for a moment he thought about flicking his finger in her general direction and sending her sprawling away like a rag doll for her candor.

But.

He did not.

Instead he rose to his feet and descended the stairs. Where hatred usually dwelt in his heart he couldn’t find it directed at her where perhaps it would have been. He found no berating words, no vicious retort. He didn’t cast her aside either. When he approached her he came to a stop but a few steps up. It was time to put her through her paces. It troubled the Dark One in this moment - he desired for her growth and advancement more than he stood on the ceremony of it all. He would be mindful of weakness and if she bore him down even in the slightest then his plot dealing with the crushing of Jacobi Wylcott’s heart and soul would be forfeit as he would squeeze the life out of her.

“Morning.” He responded in a tone that was low and warning. His hand extended to the right and the screech of a blade coming clean of its mount echoed from the shadows. A short blade came to Darth Tormentous’ hand and he wasted no time in settling the blade into his gauntlet properly in the same movement that he lashed it out at Kita. The sword would come across horizontally and cut Kita’s thread along her neckline.

He had no desire to actually kill Kita at all. But she needed to know and fully understand that life as the Apprentice of the Dark Lord would be one filled with strife and danger. Though even that said, he had a notion for this setting - he would teach her what it meant to fight and survive. He was invested in her survival. Sure it may come across as insane or crazy enough that he was attacking her for no reason - but the truth was that she needed something else too - she needed to honestly try and defend herself and to not fall into the feeling that this was some training match. The more serious she took this moment the more effective she would fight and show her worth to him.

“Morning.”

The atmosphere suddenly felt deadly as Tormentous warning tone met her ears. Blue eyes wide in shock, she came to see the steel blade slash at her. Kita quickly stepped back to dodge the blow. She hadn't felt the blade nick her throat however as she staggered catching her balance. She stared at him in shock not knowing he was trying to teach her the seriousness of her being his apprentice. She literally thought perhaps she did something wrong to upset him. "Well...you must have down something to piss him off? Right? Otherwise why would he swing at you with a blade?"

It took a few seconds for Kita to feel something warm slowly dripping down her neck. Bringing her right hand up to it, she wiped it away and stared at her finger tips in shock. Blood. "Hey! What are you trying to do!? Kill me!?!?" He had indeed landed a blow at her and she grew angry at him for it. She wouldn't have cared had it been in a sparring match, but this was out of the blue. Uncalled for and Unexpected. And Kita didn't like that.

Without another word she drew her vibroblade in preparation from its sheath. Resting at her side, she attempted figuring out what Tormentous next move would be. Of course she didn't have much confidence in lasting long with the Sith Lord in her current condition. But...what was she supposed to do? Let him kill her right there and now? No. She wouldn't die without a fight. It went against her nature.

She was fast, very fast. A promising feature as speed was more efficient when gifted with a lithe frame and when brute strength was not a superior option. It also spoke to her gifts within the Force itself, such reactions typically weren’t one hundred percent physical - they were naturally occurring through the senses of the mind and the way the mind reacted to the energy field of the Force. He would think more on this later and help her develop her senses into a keen tool.

He could sense her thoughts and it was a mixture of confusion, shock, and anger. Her verbal outcry was further proof of her feelings and Tormentous fed from these emotions. They were intoxicating and they gave him strength and speed (Feed on Dark Side). A lust of battle began to fall like a haze and it would have taken over his conscious pattern of thought and he would have pursued Kita until death - yet there was control here. There was one thing that Tormentous had never been able to command - it was the fighting spirit within his heart. It was the hand of a Mandalorian Warrior.

The Dark Lord had struck blood from his pupil - she was fortunate that he had been utilizing a simple short sword from the weapon rack instead of the Jidai Maras. Had it been his own sword then her blood would have been a devastating blow indeed.

She drew her vibroblade and his adrenaline began to pump hard in excitement. Training or not the thought of going steel to steel with an opponent was everything to the Mandalorian. Not even Tormentous could subdue this will to fight and endure. Tormentous moved down the stairs to even footing where he moved into a lunging attack aimed for her midsection where he would follow through and next move into a series of slow yet very deliberate diagonal slashes.

These attacks were heavy handed and she would quickly learn the differences between the block and the parry. While the block would terminate the opponent’s momentum and allow counter attack, it demanded more control and a lot of physical strength to execute - a parry was not a block but rather where the steel on steel contact would redirect the attack out and away rather than making the effort to stop the attack entirely. The parry was a superior tactic but required experience in order to capitalize on as the window to counter attack was much smaller. If she chose to block them rather than parry then she would be hard pressed to keep her weapon in her hand or possibly even her footing.

She parryed his lunge attack to the side quickly realizing she should have put distance between them after his first initial attack. But she was to shocked to even think much other then step back from the glistening blade aimed at her throat. She had just woken up. Her mind was still a little foggy despite the adrenaline she woke up with coursing through her of excitement this morning in bed. She certainly hadn't anticipated the Sith Lord making a Bee Line for her that morning.

The first diagonal slash though slower then normal, Kita tilted away a bit making sure she still had her weight was fully supported on the ground as she avoided his blade. A small piece of her blonde hair floated to the floor from his attack as she swiftly brought up her vibroblade to block and hold his next slash with the blade. The blades clinged with each other, thin arms shaking in effort to hold back the blade from making contact with her. There was no smile in Kita's expression. Her own blue gaze lite like a burning furnace wanting to scortch her attacker as she locked eyes with Tormentous. Hoping for a opening, Kita headbutted him in the forehead with her own seeing it wasn't properly covered by armor.

With both hands on the blade for extra strength, she shoved him back with what strength she could muster despite her physical condition and made a swift forceful kick for just below his right shin. "HAH!" She yelled angrily.
Quickly she took the opportunity of his opening to lung her own attack to his right side before leaping back to put a decent amount of distance between them. She couldn't fight at so close aproximety right now. Took to much strength then just to hold back his blows. She needed a different approach. But What?

"Come on Kita, your smarter then this. Weak or not, surely there is a way you can disable him long enough to get a few punches in or something.

Managing to block one of his strikes took a lot of her remaining strength - he could see it in her blue eyes. She had much in the way of fight left in her spirit but her body said otherwise, he wished to see exactly how far she’d be able to go and so he was rewarded by a headbutt. It wasn’t an impact afforded by strength enough to do much harm. She was far too weak at this time to do that not to mention the difference in height robbed the strike of the true power it may have had. Nevertheless getting headbutted was not something that could be ignored regardless of how much damage was rendered.

Instantly his advance was interrupted though an experienced warrior such as he wasn’t about to stumble about as the fool - no - his guard came up quickly in time to welcome her attempt to shove him away. The additional kick he allowed to strike him, the blow was absorbed by his armor perhaps to her great dismay. By this time his anger was rising - that headbutt fired up his nerves and he wanted to return the punishment in kind. She lunged at him and he slapped her vibroblade aside with his own weapon rotating it around and effectively neutralizing the effort.

The anger in her eyes was most amusing, he would certainly take it seriously but it was among the first steps along a long Dark road for her. “Use your anger, whelp. As you are you are too weak to even defend yourself. Come and strike back or I will crush you where you stand and cast you from this Citadel for the predators to devour your body. You’ll have no grave to mark your death - you’ll be forgotten before the midday comes.”

Coming in again he aimed his next strike at her left shoulder though it was a feint in which he redirected the sword downward to strike at her left wrist, a true disarming shot if there was one. He did not expect the full brunt of his attack to be successful - she was too fast for it so he suspected. Thus he anticipated her movement away from the attack and at this location he sent forth a heavy straight jab. From one such as Tormentous with arms as mighty pistons even just a simple jab would carry the weight of a jackhammer.

It would be interesting to see what she did next. It was also true that his words weren’t full of true vexation or mirth - he was taunting her in order to bring out the rage in her heart. The more she dwelt on the anger and fury within her then the further down the into the corrupted path of Darkness would she be seen.

Kita knew most...if not all attempts at fending off Tormentous were futile in her current condition as she quickly realized her attacks weren't doing much of anything. Then again, would she have stood much of chance against him if she were healthy again? Probably not. She might put up a good fight, but Tormentous had experience and was stronger in the force then she. "Why do i even bother? ...oh yea...Cause I'm to stubborn to quit." She told herself.

“Use your anger, whelp. As you are you are too weak to even defend yourself. Come and strike back or I will crush you where you stand and cast you from this Citadel for the predators to devour your body. You’ll have no grave to mark your death - you’ll be forgotten before the midday comes.”

Kita gritted her teeth. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING WHELP!?" She didn't care about his threat. Perhaps she should have...but no. The insult alone was enough. She would of attacked him back either way at this point, but she wasn't going to say that. Instead she held her tounge. Kita preferred her opponent to come to her rather then her go to them. There was an advantage to it in her mind, but Tormentous wasn't having it. He already called the shots. And with the level of anger at him already, she was inclined to proceed anyway despite her better judgements.

"Hmph."
She rushed forward keeping focused on his movements as his blade came down to strike her, or so it seemed. It wasn't unusual this time for Kita to catch on to the phony attack as he switched the blades direction. She had done it before as well, so for her it was predictable and he had done it once to her on Zoist also. "Not this time." She eyed the blade and shifted a bit just barely missing the blades edges coming in contact with her wrist. "If that had sliced my wrist open...I would possibly have died for sure..."

Kita indeed did begin to jump back as the Sith Lord expected of her. She however didn't expect him to lunge. Reacting on reflex, the blade grazed her side as she leaped up on the blade itself and jumped off, and over Tormentous head. She twisted slightly in the air as she flew over the Sith Lords head while pulling out her pistol. She aimed a couple shots at the back of his neck before landing on her feet clumsily a few feet away. Whether she hit him or not, she wasn't sure. She almost threw her blade at him, but that would have been stupid had she got rid of it so carelessly. She looked down at the damage briefly before narrowing her eyes at Tormentous. The cut wasn't deep but had cut through her yellow top and blood began to soak through a bit from where the blade sliced her.

It seemed she still had some fight left in her, ‘There we go.’ He mused as his attacks were all but neutralized yet he could sense her pain and it instilled bloodlust in his heart. He wanted more and before this was over - damn it - he would have more. But more than his lust to shed blood was his achievement of enticing her and manipulating her inner anger to attack. He could use this in the future when it was truly time to bring her into the shadowed Darkness.

The fighting in such a martial nature was Tormentous’ area of expertise and yet more so it was the Mandalorian’s. Every thumping beat of his heart coursed adrenaline through him and every movement was exact. He lived in the heat of battle and in that next moment - as her boot stepped so gracefully on the edge of his sword, his next heart beat was not of the domination of a Lord of the Sith - he looked upon her with a cunning eye that saw her for what she truly was. A warrior. Yes she was but beginning in her journey along this path but that didn’t mean her potential wasn’t great. If she wasn’t so naturally talented then it was very likely she wouldn’t have made it this far as it were.

His eye tracked her even as he withdrew his sword and twisted right along with her (Danger Sense) he knew something clever was coming even before she unleashed her barrage and the crack of blaster fire only confirmed it for him. His free hand was already in the motion of extending even before her body had flipped over the top of his head and his hand terminated at the precise instant and location necessary - to catch the blaster bolts. (Absorb/Scatter)

First one. A shower of sparks and smoke exploded within the palm of his hand.

The second. His gauntlet scorched itself with the proximity of the blaster bolt though yet again it terminated itself in an explosion of sparks and sharp crack of the impact.

Finally the last shot came in at him yet this time the blaster bolt did not vanish in a detonation. Rather the bolt came to cease movement for a fractional second in the palm of his hand before reversing course and blazing right back at Kita - where he anticipated her to land.

As a Mandalorian would he never bothered to wait for the attack sequence to complete. He blitzed Kita Ikari’s position with a roar on his lips. First he struck out with blade crossing diagonally from her sternum to the right of her ear where he could easily maneuver into her guard, deliver a quick upper cut into her stomach and then pivot out and away to slash diagonally downward in a fashion to split her shoulder in twain. She would have to move fast if she desired survival in this moment. If anything his state of action had changed - he no longer trued to simply overpower her. His attacks now were fed by the passion to be perfect in form and mettle. It was the desire not to be the best but to get into the most fierce of battles and defeat the odds. To overcome everything.
